J.J. could still taste the lingering bittersweet coffee at the back of his tongue and smell its sweet yet minty aroma behind him. Lilicove City is like a treasure cove of unique experiences and gradually left a profound impact for him. He can only lament in not visiting any sooner.

Slowly his steps pause as he stands in front of a rather quaint and homey building. His hands reach out towards the doorknob, twisting it as he lightly pulls it back. ”Hey, Blitz!” he calls out. He can hear the cries of pokemon nearby, alerted by his presence, yet only a distinct sound catches his attention.

He can’t help but fondly smile as he hears the pitter-pattering of small feet shuffling closer as a small Eevee bounds at him from another room – leaping directly at his stomach. His hands open wide, ready to catch the small dog-like pokemon, yet unexpectedly, he feels its head pound against his abdomen, causing him to reel backwards in pain.

Grunting in pain, he can see it defiantly look upwards at him as it’s clearly upset at him for leaving it behind. ”I’m sorry, okay? I had business that I had to take care of.” he’d explain in half-hearted desperation, trying to console the creature. Looking up, he’d turn his gentle smile over to one of the nearby daycare workers. ”Was he any trouble?”

rocket buddies, aaaay. sabine is already under the assumption that our boy is a bit of a superhero when he's just more reckless than not. he joined rocket to get closer to wren considering he's her older half-brother, but that's really about it for his primary reason for being a rocket grunt. it was more out of a whim than anything else, plus it gets him closer towards the illegal stuff.

there are probably some videos on the internet of crazy people doing crazy things - some of which may involve biking as it is an extremely common way to get around most regions, plus performing dangerous things is always more interesting when one does it themselves rather than through a pokemon. maybe there's a video of j.j. doing one of these stunts or participating in a dangerous race and evelyn recognizes him from it.

Perusing through his phone, J.J. turns to look at the Lucario kneeling against the ground, its snout pressed closely against the ground. ”You find anything yet?” he asks, slightly annoyed at his inability to find a wild pokemon. Catching and building a team has never been a top priority, as he prefers to spend most of his time biking; however, ever since joining Team Rocket, he’s quickly come to understand the necessity of having a proper team.

Soleil’s nose lightly twitches as it suddenly looks back towards her trainer, barking at him to grab his attention. Raising an eyebrow, he nods solemnly to the Lucario as she quickly breaks off into a sprint. He follows closely behind, pushing past the tall grass before the pair come to another halt. His blue eyes dart around as he tries to spot whatever might’ve grabbed the bipedal canine’s attention.

J.J. silently scanned the dark apartment complex’s basement – shining his flashlight around to get a better view of the situation. The building has been out of power for at least two days now… a biproduct of a Grubbin and Charjabug infestation.

This is beneath me… he begrudgingly thinks to himself as he normally isn’t the type to take up odd jobs, but considering his near empty wallet, he can’t really complain about any opportunity he can get. Under tossing a pokeball out, Smidge the Pidgey is released from its confinement with a loud pop. Flapping its wings to hover, it turns its attention towards its trainer, letting out a low coo as it tilts his head.

”Look around, will ya?” he instructs the somewhat clueless Pidgey. ”If you find some bug pokemon, feel free to eat them.” Ascertaining its trainer’s intents, the bird pokemon quickly begins darting around in the air as it looks throughout the basement. J.J. lets out a sigh as he pulls out his phone, browsing through his social media account as he waits.

considering some dynamics here, how about a rivalry between the two? j.j.'s confident and carries around a 'better than you' swagger. unlike angelo, he also comes from a wealthy family unlike angelo; though his path seems to be twisted considering he's rocket.

Men from the back begin flooding out from the back room just as the subpar robbers flee through the entrance. Seeing the sudden reinforcement, J.J. hangs his head low rubbing the back of his neck, slowly raising his head upwards to coldly stare at the others. ”What the fuck took you so long?” he utters lowly – the gaze from his blue eyes as chilly as ice.

One of the grunts steps forward flaring in anger as they glare back at him. ”What was that you punk? You’re just the goddamn lookout.”yet he’s unphased against the man’s bluster, maintaining his stance and cold glare causing him to hesitate and take a step back. Finding the grunt to not be worth his time, he holds out his pokeball, recalling the Lucario through a red beam of light as he looks to the woman brushing herself off.

He approaches, maintaining a fair distance as he stares at her with a small smile forming from his lips. ”Sorry ‘bout the trouble.” he half-apologizes. Judging the woman's attitude, she seems perfectly poised and fine despite the hassle and physical mistreatment. "I'm J.J."

J.J. has been lacking in personal funds ever since his father had cut him off, but honestly, he'd rather die than have rely on that piece of trash. Still, trafficking is far from the ideal job and he would never imagine himself partaking in such a matter... but desperate times calls for desperate measures and joining Team Rocket is the only way he'd reliably get closer to a certain individual.

J.J. silently stood against a wall, browsing through his phone when he hears someone call out to him. Looking up and peering at the gaudy-looking individual through his pair of sunglasses, he mentally shakes his head at the man's general attire. Without saying anything about his atrocious fashion sense, he casually slips his phone back into the pocket, pushing himself away from the wall to stand properly. "You're here about the job?" he'd bluntly and vaguely ask the man, providing no details to make sure no one would overhear them.

He casually waves goodbye to the secretary as he steps through the door and into the actual battle area. "Sure~" he promptly replies in a childish tone as he stands further across from her.

He taps his right index finger against his chin as he ponders what pokemon he should use to confront her; after all, he only chose to participate in the gym challenge on a whim. Without thinking too hard, he finally makes his decision, pulling out a pokeball and nonchalantly tossing it out, releasing Shelly the Audino from her confinements.

The creature lets out a small cry as it looks back to J.J. then across to the girl. "So, have a good day so far?" he asks Wren casually, waiting for her to choose her own pokemon. Clearly he didn't seem to be taking the battle seriously.
