In this liminal space that is the Swarm, Chu-e, as always, is ready with his pokeball and his craving for power. How many had he actually caught something in these? Like, once? He could do it again. He could get an EEVEE.

Hearing that the cute fox pokemon was swarming, he hadn't been able to resist. Even with current plot developments. Didn't matter. These woods were full of fox and he wanted a taste.

It didn't take a genius to see the megaton of destruction heading for his general area (thanks kyle lopez you stinky puppy boy).

"Do something!" Is barked out at his Togekiss. The pokemon begins to charge up a Metronome. Chu-e, distracted for the moment, does not notice Balder Schwartz 's gambit or his leap of faith.

They connect right when the Metronome turns into Phantom Force, pushing them both through the inky black void of ghostly shadow.

Chu-e tries to grapple Balder Schwartz , crystal whip shifting into Crystal Claws, leeching up his arms. One hand he tries to grasp for Balder Schwartz 's throat and squeeze, the other claws at his chest. Bites are taken out, any connection another drinking port for the thing inside of him.

They roll out of the portal in a fit of limbs, behind Cillian Quinn and Rowan Wrynn .

The Togekiss hovers nearby, exhausted from the attack.

He's tired.

He's hungry.

It has been harder since Sootopolis. The results of which don't matter, not really, as crystal shifts under his skin like it belongs there. A dull ache deep in his bones that he had once thought was the disease eating him alive. A depression brought on by knowing you were dangerous to everyone around you.

It's a wonder that Eris Halla hasn't noticed. The lethargy. The sleeping. How many more mornings can he just say he's tired and roll over to rot in the prison of his mind? Closed door, dark room, letting the notifications ping unchecked....

He's hungry.

The ache of hunger had been constant since... since whatever had happened. It's palpable. In the back of his mind it hums, a constant, something familiar but also foreign. This hunger is different in that it rumbles his own stomach. The smell of food cooking forces him to shift.

A quick shower. He's greasy and unfit to look at. Chu-e doesn't want anyone to see him like this.

So Eris is done by the time he wanders through, wet head, tired eyes.

The sight of her warms something in his chest.

"Hi, Errie." He rasps before pulling a seat out at the kitchen table. Watching her flit around with so much energy is nice.

"Mweh!" The noise was surprised out of Chu-e when he was prevented his affection, a solid pout that made him resemble the felines he loved so much at Razz Kingsman.

"Wha happen?" He said vaguely, unsure about thy the other was being so mean? Had something happened? Was it the dick pic he had sent him by accident?

What Yui Fujin Silph didn't know was that Chu-e already had an idea what would happen- plus he had access to the Floette thanks to Walsh. If he knew this 'Athena' a bit better, he might be willing to show the process sometime. Just not yet. You never knew when something could go tits up, after all.

At least he could fill Rowan Wrynn in later when they were alone.

"I guess just... well, I wonder what this thing could do other than open wormholes. I don't really want to go meet the aliens on their home turf." He shakes his head. "I'm useless for power ideas, too. You two seem smarter than me, so that might be up to you." Chu-e, at the end of the day, wasn't a scientist after all. He just was willing to do stupid shit to see what happened.

Oh hell yeah, got one on the first try.

Clove sniffed, the Luxray walked over to a snack cart. It looked like a yummy puff of cotton candy...

She glanced around before Crunching down on the treat!

Only to be surprised by it making noise and fainting instantly. She whined and walked to Chu-e, who sighed and rolled his eyes before trying to catch the Swirlix.

The mask Chu-e had been wearing was made of light clay and wires. Picked up at a craft booth. Artisan.

It splinters and falls away, destroyed by Balder Schwartz's fist.

Black shifts in it's place, crystals dancing over skin. One blue eye glowers at the Alolan man. Even if Chu-e is pushed away, thin crystal growths from his fingers tips and palms will follow, black needles trying to sink and burrow inside of Balder's flesh. Little siphons made to drink.

He was starving.

His Lopunny falls. Creams lets out a gasp as she hits the ground, Mega form wavering. For the moment, she is still.

Meanwhile, his Shadow Delcatty will not take her assault with the Aura Sphere laying down. She charges at Kazimir Wynter's Lucario, psychic energy around her as she attempts a Zen Headbutt.

The G!Weezing, his Destiny Bond done, heads towards his nearest target- which happens to be Kazimir Wynter himself. When close enough, or if something else comes closer, he detonates. Explosion.

Even if she is almost down, almost isn't the same as is. Creams hears the rushing water and pushes herself up on wobbly feet, attempts to drag herself back to her trainer.

Chu-e blinks. Suddenly, his mind is clear. The hunger is present, but it's not the same all encompassing feeling like before. He attempts to shove Balder away, should he still have him in grasp, before he returns his exploded Weezing, injured Lopunny, and Shadowed Delcatty. His Togekiss is called back out and he tries to hop on his back.

A sharp whistle and he tries to rise.

But not before the overwhelming need hits him again.

And a thread thin whip of crystal attempts to wrap around Balder Schwartz's neck.
