Her diaphragm convulses, a violent movement and brings up a considerable amount of seawater as she coughs and hacks as she turns to the side to face Rowan. Her lungs hungrily demand air. She can’t speak not until she done taking a few gasping breaths to replenish the lost oxygen.

Holy hell, she’s never getting on a boat again.

The Beast groans, shifting to push herself up onto her knees. Slowly, her mind starts to put the pieces together. Another fit of coughs brings up another spray of seawater, “Fuck,” Is all she can manage to say. Lex sits back on her heels, a wave washing over her feet, “Where are we?” her voice is hoarse from the water, accentuated by a growl that spells out her frustration.

If Lex paid any attention as to what’s been happening in the organization she probably would have heard of Isaac Merlo. He’s made quite a name for himself. But in all honesty, Lex could care less about the one below her. She’s more focused on her own tasks and accomplishments than the organization as a whole. If her work contributes to Rocket’s glory, that’s a bonus.

She appreciates his punctuality, but as always, her rather neutral gaze doesn’t give it away. Amber eyes shift from the blonde to his three pokemon. They linger a beat longer on the Honedge, simply because it’s a ghost.

Three of his best, hm? “No need to thank me,” she finally says after a long pause. It’s part of her job, after all. She’s certainly not doing this out of the kindness of her heart for a complete stranger. Her ‘lesson’ could strengthen Rocket, and that more strength for her.

“Ahh, a Z-Crystal,” she doesn’t reach to inspect it, she’s seen them before, “I would save that for when you really need it,” unless her had too many when he knew what to do with, “That can temporarily give pokemon without the power to perform Z-moves the ability,” Any pokemon. It could be quite the powerful asset.

“Today, I’ll be using Smoke,” ground beneath her feet seems to shimmer. A dark mist travels across the floor as the Gengar rises from the Phantom Plane and into their reality, “You may use one, or all three, your choice,” the smile that follows is mischievous.

The screams are music to Lex’s ears. It makes her smile as her gaze shifts up to the ceiling. Wisp was doing an excellent job for simply being a Haunter. She, admittedly, expected less from the ghost as they had not had too much time to train together. Luckily, she’s a natural.

A blast flames nearly makes her flinch, but the known WIDE GUARD offers protection to the small group. Parker’s Blaziken easily dispatches the Charmeleon in an impressive CLOSE COMBAT. Perhaps Lex should have her own Blaziken train with Parker’s. The fire-type could use more one on one experience from a seasoned fighter.

“Hmph,” she scowls as the screams die. That either meant Wisp was finished, of she was now engaged in her own combat and couldn’t terrorize them any longer. Either way, Lex rushes past the Aegislash to peer over the ledge of the stairs. She sees one body lying on the floor, assumingely the trainer of the Charmeleon. Another humanoid figure, a GALLADE, has the Haunter pinned to the ground with PSYCHIC. The Gallade’s trainer points a gun in Lex’s direction before she quickly dips back down, “Down!” she warns.

POP. POP. POP.

The wood above her head splinters with the impact of the bullets, “Get,” the ghost phases into the floor, it’s SHADOW SNEAKING across the wood until it rises behind the man. A cold, ghostly force explodes from its glowing eyes, sending the man hurling forward towards Parker’s pokemon.

There’s a sudden interest in the powerful. Not just from the ones that seek it, but from the ones that already have it as well. It seems no matter how much power you have, it’s never enough. Hence, the MAGMA initiative. Lex still considers it a rash move. Humans aren’t meant to be imbedded with such power. However, it intrigued her to not be tied to a legendary.

Today’s lesson, well, demonstration, is meant to highlight the natural powers embedded in Hoenn, the ones that transform pokemon, into monster. It’s a power difficult to deal with and difficult to control. Unpredictable results can come to those that misuse it.

She’s unsure who she is meeting, she’s never heard of him before. A grunt? There’s already a hint of annoyance tightening the chord of her thin patience. Hopefully he wouldn’t be a waste of her time. She hates wasting time.

Lex’s foot bounces rhythmically as she leans against the training room wall, waiting for him to arrive.

Lex had never been the sentimental type – except when it came to Killian. How she found herself standing within ear shot of a memorial she didn’t know. She just . . . wound up here. One of those times where you just start walking, and walking, and then boom. The next thing you know, you’re somewhere you least expected.

She remains at a distance, simply watching and other offer something for their lost pokemon. Lex wasn’t particularly bonded with the ones that died. She hadn’t given them much thought. Her focus had been on Killian Decker and his injuries and the loss of Val. Could she have done any different to save him?

The dark mist of her Gengar swirls at her feet. The cool protoplasm leaks through the fabric like water. His eyes peer out from behind her shadow, searching for the dead.

Lex had never been one to be amused by ‘fans. Perhaps it was her utter lack of interested that egged them on, getting more and more ridiculous each time to try and win her attention. This time, it seems they had resorted to face painting. The woman forces her eyes to remain on the battle ahead and not roll back in exacerbation.

The FORCE PALM hit the fox in the gut. The air leaves his lungs in one big breath. It quickly refilled with the cool air of the arena. Braixen snorts, narrows it’s amber gaze before its lost in an explosion of flames. A rush of hot air surges back as the pokemon lunges forward towards the Riolu at blinding speed with a FLAME CHARGE.

Lex can’t help but let a smile creep across her red lips. The fact he thought she put thought into what kind of a man he was apparently amused her.

“Haven’t thought about it,” she shrugs her shoulders, slipping her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket. Despite having not thought about, she knew a pharma-boy wasn’t it. Of course, Mars is a CEO and Killian a Casino owner so, you know, anything is possible.

What could she accomplish?

If she had any motivation, she might be able to accomplish great things. Too bad she’s content with where she’s at.

He brows crease in the slightest at the mention of War, “Depends,” Of course she does, she infamous of riding him through the Phantom Plane, “What’re you gonna do with him?”

This is what separated Lex from the admins – social skills and politics. Where as the beast would rather get to the point and get the job done, Jayden saw no need to rush. A conversation was warranted, sure, but the details of that conversation didn’t interest Lex. There were other things she could be doing, and it irritated her being far from home or Killian Decker, especially with everything going on.

Still, she would entertain the admin. Lex offers Jayden a wordless nod as she steps past him and into the building. As they walk she inspects it, taking in the partially unfinished parts. It’s a new toy, and nice too. No wonder he wants to show it off.

“Hm, didn’t peg you for a pharma guy,” she leans against the receptionist desk, flicking the name plate he just readjusted so a metallic cling briefly resonated, “So, what? Need me to sabotage the competition or something?”

No, that’s not why she’s here. Her brows crease in curiosity as he continues to lead her down a hallway towards an unknown destination. Disturbing flashbacks of when Cillian Quinn led her to a room for interrogation resurface. The knot in her chest tightens and a cold glare burns into back of Jayden’s neck, she doesn’t trust him.

“Yes,” it’s a short answer, offering him only what she feels the conversation is worth.

It’s utter chaos as the red cracks and the saviors that came to aid them begin to fall. A new threat tries to tear through space and time itself to invade Hoenn. No. Hoenn has had enough. Sootopolis is theirs. Hoenn is theirs.

“Gengar, focus on the new threat,” The Mega-Gengar nods, focusing her crimson gaze on the Necrozma trying to tear into their world. She claps her palms together pushing a vicious NIGHT SHADE out towards the monster.

In all the chaos, Lex can’t take her eyes off the fallen Lunala. Val’s patron, a ghost-type, one of Rocket’s own. She feels a protective draw towards the fallen legendary, “Keres, help Lunala,” she says as she throws a pokemon forward. The light materializes into a Dragapult. The ghost hisses, curling its tail beneath it as it inspected its surroundings before it’s astute gaze finds the Lunala. Keres feels a pull towards the fellow ghost-type. The small dragon nested atop her head ready themselves as she rushes forward. Keen eyes target the shadow pokemon attacking Lunala, a barrage of DRAGON DARTS spit forward like missiles, looking to take out the swarm heading for Lunala.

The Gengar stands beside her, looking relatively more displeased than it’s master. The tense jaw and icy red glare Mint gets makes sure he understands that, “You took Smoke’s snack,” her gaze moves towards the closet he just came from, “You owe him another,” and with that, she moves them forward towards their target with mint striding beside her.

Lex delicately plucks the badge from his hand, turning it in her own to inspect it, “Hm,” the grunt is the only acknowledgment he gets. Perhaps it means nice work? If it wasn’t, she would have told him.

Ma’am rings sour in her ears. She’s not use to such formalities. As soon as the door slides open and she steps through, she pauses, extending an arm to keep Mint from pushing past her and stepping into the hallway. There may not be any human guards, but security cameras still exist. It isn’t until now that they’ve already been somewhat pegged that they should take care of that little issue.

“Hecate,” she whispers, a cold breeze blowing by them as the shadows shift. Smokes seems to stir happily, anxious watching as the dark mist crawls up the wall and to the ceiling. A metallic crunch[ and the sound of shattering glass precedes the pop of electricity as the ghost smashes the cameras through the hallway with PSYCHIC, “I didn’t think you wanted your pretty face all over the Police Stations,” Lex learned from personal experience it is no fun, “Now we can go,” And quickly.

Lex was hungrier than she thought she was. Or, perhaps, it was the fact that his food was so much better than what she has been eating that she couldn’t help but finish it quickly, as if it was going to disappear in front of her eyes. It doesn’t, she gets to enjoy every bite in his company.

“I missed you too,” she said sincerely as she dabbed the napkin across her lips. She leans away from her empty plate as she sips her coffee, “Training?” With Deoxys.

Honestly, it makes her a bit uneasy. But just as she had to learn not to run, she has to learn not to fear it. If she wanted Killian to stay, Deoxys came with him. A package deal, much to her dismay.

“Alright, yeah, I’ll watch,” Perhaps train with him if he felt it safe to do so.

The darkness is interrupted by fire. The blaze erupts around her in a circle, forcing the Beast to skid to a halt before she burns herself on the flames. Scarlet fire dances across the sharp features of her face, red lips pulled into an annoyed frown. She was hoping she would get a bit further than this. Aubie wasn’t too far away.

She turns slowly, to see Greyson and his Delphox, “Can’t help but stick your nose where it doesn’t belong, hm?” The shadows seem to grow darker, a heavy, cold pressure settling across the ally.
