It’s still strange to TELEPORT without the aid of a pokemon. As soon as their fingertips touched, Lex was torn through space until they emerged in the familiar, dark hull of the submarine where the Training Rooms were built. They were sturdy and could no doubt withstand a beating from some of the best.

Lex always worries about him. So when he groans she quick to respond, “Killian? Do you need anything?” she places a gentle hand on his back, “Water?” not that she had anything to offer but she could find whatever he needs.

Much like Greyson, Lex wasn’t the same person she was when she first came to Hoenn. Once a girl that would solely run, she now didn’t mind a fight, preferred it, sometimes. Especially when someone pissed her off. Though she should focus on returning the case, Greyson was making it all too enticing to not leave without a little scuffle. Just a taste. She wouldn’t be here long. The smoke from the fire had undoubtedly attracted some attention, hopefully from her ride out of here.

“Alright, lower these flames and I’m all yours,” she smiles, the shadows of the dancing flames giving it a rather maniacal appearance.

Claiming BATTLE PACK for Lexy-poo ^_^

For the first time, Lex smiles politely down at Mint. Well, was it polite? Or mocking? It’s hard to tell, “Yes, I know,” of course she’s right.

Her tight grip releases him so they can freely travel down the hallways towards the vault. Luckily, the security guard is already doing half the work for them. As the dozes off, Smoke doesn’t even have to make him sleep. He goes straight for a DREAM EATER, droll dripping from the corner of his wide grin and he lunges forward to ensnare the human in dark tendrils.

A sharp hiss makes the Gengar jump, though the connection never breaks. He hisses back as the Gardevoir melts into their reality from the Phantom Plane. The queen exerts her dominance, and after a little ghostly exchange, the Gengar breaks off, allowing her to feed first.

Lex seems to pay the interaction no mind, “Alright, go on, let us in,” she motions for Mint to lead the way.

Lex knew it. She should have never gotten on that stupid fucking boat with him. Now she’s stuck on a god forsaken island.

At the mention of pokemon, she shoots up as if she was bit in the ass by an Ekans. Her hands quickly fly to her belt, fingertips gently tracing over the sphere clipped there.

One, two, three, four, five, six . . .

She sighs in relief, slumping over as she settled on her knees, “Of course,” though not necessarily known for flying-types, Aubie was one of her signature pokemon. A free hand unclips the first pokeball, expanding it before releasing the Braviary onto the sand.

The screech he gives off in surprise is deafening. Even lex winces at the sound. The eagle’s beak snaps shut and gently nudges the side of his trainer. She uses the momentum to rise to her feet, inspecting their surroundings. In the sea, she abandoned her jacket in favor of not being weighed down to the abyss by it. The breeze that over them from the sea reminded her night would also mean a chill.

“Yeah, sure,” she turns to the Braviary, “Find us some help, will ya,” she turns around to guess which direction is towards the Hoenn mainland, “Go uhhh that way,” she points in the completely wrong direction.

As a Blizzard tears across the field, chilling the air, the Honedge makes another strike at the Gengar. This time, letting it hit the ghost was not intentional. Smokes howls in pain as the NIGHT SLASH hits. Lex’s neutral expression changes for the first time, wincing with the ghost as he expresses his discomfort. Fine. It’s time.

“Now,” especially while the Honedge if confined to the ground.

A blast of energy radiates from the ghost. His fists pound into the terrain, sinking as he modifies it with psychic power. A strange purple haze washes over the ground like a tide. It reaches and pulls for the living, including Isaac if he happens to wander into the mist. The pokemon will find themselves unable to resist the lull to sleep. As the Blizzard settles, they’ll notice the fine details: dark tendrils rising up to ensnare those affected by the z-move. Their sharp energy will penetrate the barrier of their soul, siphoning it to feed back to the Gengar.

summons a hypnotic terrain that put those affected to SLEEP. this amplifies the area of effect for the user's DREAM EATER attack. this terrain can only be dispelled by other terrain based z-moves. it lasts three turns.

jayden confirms that they are done. Lex continues to do her best to avoid bonding with anyone in rocket. Mostly because she doesn’t trust them. Killian is the only one she will ever really trust. And he loyalty remains to him, and by association, Rocket. What benefits the organization, benefits him. That didn’t require her to socialize with others, though it would probably be in her best interest.

“Thanks, but I have another engagement,” she doesn’t elaborate on it before she turns to leave, “Maybe next time,” she promises the admin.

Yeah, exactly, Keppler made her point for her. Why would they want to go to space to face a meteor? It’s coming to them. Can’t they just blow it to smithereens when it gets here? Again, she’s not the sharpest knife in the set, especially when it came to science. She stays silent though, just giving Keppler a shrug, “Sure, the final frontier,” she kind of understood, but she couldn’t see what exploring space could do for them. Isn’t that how the Ultra Space wars started? She brushes the thought aside for now. She’s discovered convincing scientists to be happy with what they have is a wasted battle.

A quick zap of DISCHARGE from the Joltik is enough to subdue a flopping Seaking. For a moment, Lex considers leaving it there to be picked off be predators. After a brief pause she decides it may be useful currency and she tosses a pokeball at it.

In a similar fashion, Lex’s face twists in discomfort at the sickening crunch of the grunt hitting the floor. The powerful kick of the Blaziken no doubt crushed a few bones which is what he deserved for shooting at them.

After a moment of silence and no warning from the pokemon, it seems safe to continue upwards, “Hmph,” she grunts, casting a glance towards the man on the floor. Her Haunter floats towards her as she rounds the staircase. It seems tired, a drip of ectoplasm slowly streaming from the corner of her mouth. The thought of switching pokemon crosses her mind but she doesn’t act on it The Haunter needed the experience and needed to learn to keep going despite the discomfort.

“Not bad at all,” the red head smiles, casting a glance down the hall after Remus. Lex could feel her heart pounding in her chest. It’s quite exhilarating.

Her gaze turns up towards the ceiling as the pounding of feet thunders down the hall above them. It seems the ‘boss’ is on the move, “We better get to the roof,” her gaze shifts to the Haunter. She understands what Lex asks and drifts up again, phasing through the ceiling towards the upper most floor then, eventually, the roof where another Lex's ghosts waits.

Lex’s brows twitches up above a rather stoic expression. Resting bitch face is stoic for Lex. Her gaze drifts down to the accessory that he references. It’s a rather clunky bracelet, looks very old. The unmistakable shine of primal energy emanates from it. Its subtle, but recognizable. None of his pokemon on the field could mega-evolve anyway, obviously it would ‘take five’ as he so eloquently put.

“Are you mocking me, Merlo?” she gets straight to the point as her arms cross over her chest.

Smoke’s oppressive gaze keeps the Honedge close, but pricks at the other ghost’s own pride. Tank it, the command resonates in the Gengar’s head again as a NIGHT SLASH whips out towards his core. It would have easily been a critical hit if the ghost didn’t subtly shift, allowing it to whip across his back rather than his front. Still, the super effective dark-type attack ushered forward another maniacal laugh from the Gengar.

A dark energy swirls around him, the whisps of black and purple tethering him to his trainer. The primal energy consumes the ghost until her morphs into the mega-evolution of himself as the ATTACK ORDER begins to swarm like a cloud. The Combee surround him, nipped at his ethereal skin. It’s nothing more than a nuisance compared to the Night Slash. With his newly formed strong arms, he pushes off the ground, back flipping to land behind the cloud. Unknowingly, it happened to take him out of range of the Cubone’s BOOMERANG.

Smoke’s gaze shifts up, eyes glowing a multitude of colors as a CONFUSE RAY pulses from the golden eye on his forehead towards the VESPIQUEEN.

The equine was used to being beat senseless by pokemon. The small prick of the needle barely bothered him. Even though it was nothing but a pinch, the horse STOMPED the tile floor with a loud CRACK. Lex’s hold on the pokemon’s head tightened slightly, “Shhhh,” she soothed, stroking his neck as Jayden finished collecting his samples.

“Wonderful,” As soon as she steps away, she returns the Spectier to its pokeball, “Will that be all?”

“You don’t disappoint, Merlo” she smiles as he agrees to a three-on-one battle, his pokemon seemingly just as excited. It’s even risky on her part, but Lex had tossed caution to the wind a while ago and lived on the rush of pure power. She too was anxious to see how Smoke had grown and developed his skills. He’s still a precious pokemon, too skilled to be nonchalant with his life. That’s what training matches like this were for.

Smoke can feel the shift in the Phantom Plane like fish can feel vibrations in the water, “Tank it,” comes the harsh command from behind. Lex and Smoke had been together since he was a tiny, floating ball of gas, their trust ran deep. Instead of a scream, the Gengar laughs wickedly as the Honedge slices through his CURSED BODY, spitting atoms as noxious, purple ectoplasm leaks from his wound. The ghost is the only one that can shift and escape him. Time to changes that.

Smoke glares down at the Honedge with malicious intent, his sinister grin growing wider and wider as he bears down on the Honedge’s will to flee. The MEAN LOOK should lock him into place.

But why aren’t the others attacking? Smoke feels a bit offended. To goad them, the ghost lashes out with a DARK PULSE in their direction.

“Mega e volution and Z-moves come form a similar energy,” she speaks up so Isaac can hear her, “Mega-evolution requires a bond, Z-move just require tapping into the power,” she explains as the engagement ring on her left hand begins to glow, signaling the impending mega-evolution of the Gengar.
