As the pulse of the music fades, the admin’s words become more clear. Perhaps once a month isn’t all that disgusting. It is a ghost, after all. It’s not like sweat . . . or do they? Suddenly the question plagues her. As she ever seen Smoke sweat? Or the Gardevoir? Her gaze flashes forward towards the ghost as it disappears down the stairs with its cargo. Lex follows behind Remiel with her box.

A cool breeze rushes up the stone passageway, cause goosebumps to rise across her bare skin although she seems unphased. She can’t help but laugh quietly at his comment – Mr. Decker. It’s rare to hear someone refer to him like that. So formal.

The Gardevoir moves her boxes towards a stack of others to let the grunts organize whatever is inside. Lex steps to the side, inspecting the room for a moment before letting her gaze fall on the long tunnel before turning back towards Remiel with curiosity, “Is that so?” she has no idea who this Indiana Jones is but the royal used words she typically used to describe her job. Lex is an expert as acquiring things: artifacts, information, even people, “It’d be nice to expand beyond intel,” not that she didn’t want to would with Killian Decker, she would always put his needs first, but opportunities elsewhere may afford her access to information she needed and strength she couldn’t find elsewhere, “I’d be interested to hear about this work,” she admits, moving to set down the box she carries beside some others.

They’ll eat you. Lex’s face twists in confusion. What the hell kind of a scare tactic was that? The red head returns Lulu’s smirk with a subtle shrug of her shoulders, “Yeah, sure,” she’ll look it up. Maybe. If she remembers and it’s worth her time.

Killian seems to know about them. Honestly, she’s not surprised. He seemed to know everything. That is his job, after all. With sigh she sinks a bit deeper into the warm bath up to her chin, “Sure, what are they?” Her attention perks a bit when Killian also mentions them eating people. Was Lulu not joking? Did they actually eat people?

Lex didn’t mind that Kilian answered for her. He answered correctly, after all, “No, Lulu, I wasn’t there,” she repeats so Lulu is satisfied and Lex answers for herself. Her feelings aren’t too different from Killian’s “I have no idea what those are,” Mega-what? Whatever.

Fearless is hardly a word used to describe Lex. She has done nothing but live in fear for so long. Still does, to a degree. Partially thanks to the siblings.

Remiel had certainly piqued her interest. Though she is incredibly intrigued, it’s a casual glance the shifts towards the admin. A brow raises slightly, especially at the mention of ‘good money’. And a favor from someone in Remiel’s position is a useful tool. Perhaps even more sueful than the money. She shifts to face him, a small grin tugging at the corner of her red lips, “I’m listening,” Very intently.

Lex thinks on that for a moment and what she knows about “hobbies”. Can she help it if her work is her hobby? Do what you love, right? “I don’t know,” she sighs, letting her shoulders fall, giving up on the idea. She glances up at Theo, taking a sip of sake, “Hm, interesting hobbies. I knew you liked fish but not fishing . . . don’t you feel bad when they get the little hook stuck in their mouths?” Lex didn’t, but she also didn’t care for fishing . . . or had really ever been fishing so she didn’t have much experience with it.

The curtness of Lulu’s question makes Lex sit up a bit straighter in the warm water. Her amber gaze pierces through the steam towards the scientist. She’s naïve to the concept of aliens and other ridiculous notions. As any good person should, she doesn’t quite believe in fictitious tales of extraterrestrials. Her lips part to respond, but Killian beats her to it. Although she’s more adept to fighting her own battles, she happy Killian is there to keep her in check. They didn’t need repeat of Darkrai on the sub.

Her gaze moves towards Killian at the mention of Deoxys.

Oh boy, here we go again.

With a sigh Lex settles back down into foggy water. Killian’s obsession with the pokemon has been exhausting. She’s not about to argue on this topic. Instead, she remains silent, letting a hand trace over the water’s surface.

Lex shoves her hands in the pocket of her dark jeans. Her features remain neutral, obviously not entertained by the Minior Shower joke. All the man gets in response is a sharp exhale, perhaps the remnant of a chuckle. It’s hard to tell.

A silence settles as she takes a moment to glance around after his question. She hasn’t heard anything about a runaway feline, “Why are you looking for one of those? Is it yours?” in other words, does it pay? Should she be looking too?

“Just like I remember it,” she agrees with a satisfied grin aimed towards Killian. Her hand squeezes his back. She’s ready to lose herself in the past tonight and not think for a moment about the troubles that plague them currently. Unfortunately, Goldenrod would be filled with reminders of both.

Lex is anxious to enter, but she lets Killian admire it a moment more before he pulls her through the threshold. The familiar scent of whiskey and smoke makes her take a deep breath. Her nose scrunches, it’s not as pleasant as it used to be. The shock is quickly wiped away by the gruff, familiar voice of Anthony.

“Anthony!“ her smile turns even brighter. She was hoping he still worked here. Out of old habit, Lex pulls away from Killian to quickly circle the bar, shamelessly crossing the threshold to wrap him in a big hug, “Careful, Anthony, you know I’ll have to kick your ass then,” Lex is quick to return back to Killian’s side, sliding in close next to him, “We’re just . . . passing through,” her tone flattens, indicating no one needs to know they were ever here.

“Ye, ye, ye, I know the drill,” he huffed, leaning back to pour them a set of three shots. Shitty stuff from the well, of course. It’s good to see his loyalties still lie with Killian.

Curly led the way with Lex following closely behind at a slow, army crawl through the narrow vents. There’s not much choice but to focus on the task at hand. Letting her mind wander would no doubt lead to panic. Unfortunately, that meant staring at a Rattata’s ass scurrying in front of her. It really couldn’t get much worse . . . wait, yes it could. Genesect. Lex shivers beneath the thought and pushes the thought far out of her mind.

A few turns later and Killian’s voice breaks the silence in her mind. It’s a welcome distraction. Perhaps she should have been chatting with him the whole time, “I really don’t like this plan,” she growls into his head. Especially the part where Killian gets scooped up by security and Kaito likely beats the living shit out of him . . . or worse. Probably worse.

“Fine, I think we’re almost there,” Curly clicks his teeth together in confirmation, “You should get out of here, Killian. I’ll be done in no time,” although it’s not confirmed she knows he’s here because she feels sick to her stomach about the whole thing.

Lex finds herself peering through the thin slits of a vent at the end of a hallway. A screwdriver is conveniently leaning against the side of the vent for quiet entry. Before she starts, she sits and waits patiently. There has to be a guard somewhere in this hallway. A hand pushed forward in a sweeping motion sends the nearby shadow through the thin beams of the vent, melting like smoke to drip into the hallway. The Shadow Gardevoir races across the wall, searching for prey.

Lex has no idea who that is but she assumes it’s a compliment gauging by his reaction to the news. So she smiles, sinking a bit deeper into the water, closing her eyes. She should have asked for extra compensation . . . but it wasn’t Walsh that asked her to do it.

“I just do as I’m told, Remiel. And I don’t as questions,” therefore, her knowledge on the subject is quite superficial. She did her part of the job. She stole it because Killian asked her to, and that was enough for her.
