“Lex,” it’s a simple and to the point introduction. She doesn’t offer a last name, because she doesn’t know much about this stranger. Trust is something she doesn’t willingly give out.

Older woman? Lex visibly rolls her eyes. She doesn’t look much older than herself or Killian. Perhaps her mind is lightyears ahead of hers. As a self-proclaimed woman of science, Lex believed that to be true without a doubt. Lex knows her place, and it’s not among the sharpest knives in the tool shed. Still, something Kano says sparks her interest. It’s enough for her to smile and glance towards the other woman with a sly smirk pulled across her red lips, “That’s a bummer,” she imagines it isn’t easy to get time with the star of the show.

Curiosity and a need to distract herself gets the best of her. It’s obvious there’s something Kano wants and Dr. Holo has: knowledge, “How far are you willing to go for that information?” there’s nothing Lex can’t steal.

Lex stirs at the mention of Sootopolis. Her eyes crack open and she sits up in the water, a bit more attentive to the conversation, “What thing in Sootopolis?” There were . . . lots of things she heard about. Killian would have to be more specific or she’s just too out of the loop to know what they’re referring to. Her gaze glances over to Lulu to hear her theories. Lex is curious too.

Chicken and toast? Quite the range. Lex nods in approval. It’s not Killian Decker-caliber cooking but she’s not here to judge. It’s probably better than she can do.

“Umm, I guess?” she shrugs her shoulders before sipping her sake, “It is a pretty rock . . .”

“Cooking?” she repeats the one that’s most surprising to her. Theo didn’t seem like the homely type, but to each their own. It makes her curious, “What kind of stuff do you cook?” she sips the sake, smacking her tongue against the roof of her mouth. The taste is not what she remembers but it also isn’t unpleasant. Just different.

She thinks for a moment, dark lips curling into a mischievous smile as she thinks back on her recent heists, “Yes,” The Mossdeep Space Center one was particularly noteworthy, probably one of her favorites to date, especially since Killian Decker worked closely with her on it as well. It’s rare she gets to talk about things so openly. In a room with just him, it’s a safe space. Still, her tone is hushed, “A meteorite. Not quite sure what its significance is but . . . Killian really wanted it,” and naturally, she’d do anything for that man.

Sake. The bottle is unique enough to recognize from its shape. It’s not a drink Lex ever really indulges in, she’s a straight whiskey kind of girl and perhaps some fine wine every now and then, “Hm, I can’t remember the last time I had sake,” she muses while taking the glass from Theo.

Lex doesn’t read too much into his words. They quite literally could mean they killed her and that wouldn’t surprise Lex in the slightest. Melody isn’t her problem, so she doesn’t dwell, “The usual?” that’s all she gets? So basically, just beating people up then. Cool. Lex shrugs her shoulders in return, settling closer to Theo, “The usual – stealing stuff,” small stuff, big stuff, weird stuff. She just does as she’s told.

A drink? “Yes please,” she shifts closer, slowly wading through the water to see what it is he had in mind, “What have you been up to since Sootopolis?” for Lex, it hasn’t been much, “Seems that gym leader thing went well,” she’s referring to Melody Miro, of course. She never had the chance to meet the starlet while she was in Rocket’s grip, but it wasn’t like she had a desire to.

Lex laughs with him, shaking her head, “I figured Killian first was implied,” apparently not, she’ll have to be more clear, “After Killian, of course.”

His question leaves her tense, but neutral on the surface, “Yes, things are great,” it’s even followed by a pleasant smile. She doesn’t need others prodding into their love life.

Lex still runs, but not as much as she used to. She’s grown more comfortable with conflict, and even battling. Sometimes she even finds herself looking for a fight.

She smiles at Theo through the fog, “If I need help, you’ll be the first I turn to,” she still doesn’t necessarily trust him, but she trusts him more than Gavin. Doubtful she’ll need help, she has Killian Decker. Well, she hopes she has Killian . . . he’s been acting very strange lately.

Yes, not enough. She should be training more but it’s not like people are lining up to get their asses beat on a daily basis. Despite what might be common amongst her colleagues, Lex doesn’t enjoy dragging a grunt to the arena just to beat them up.

“No,” she responds with a feigned confidence, peering at him through the white fog, “I can take care of myself,” the statement isn’t entirely true, but it’s certainly more true than it was when they first met.

“A bit,” she shrugs, not necessarily lying but not full being honest. Working out, sure. Training like they had done? No.

The sudden voice startles her out of her thoughts. The ladle falls form her hand, splashing in the warm water and clanking against the side of the large cylinder. Her gaze turns towards the stranger with a curious look, “Hm, yes, It’s strange,” she agrees, reaching for the ladle again. She pours a small amount of water over the stones. It hisses violently, cracking against the surface and letting a plume of steam fill the room. Lex smiles, it is quite fun though.

Lex takes a step back, settling into a bench near Mars but not uncomfortably close, “I take it you don’t come to these often then?” based on his comment, she deduced as much.

Alexandra, only her mother and people that really wanted to get under her skin called her that. She tenses beneath the water, but bites her tongue, “Been fine, how have you been, Theo?”

Lex takes one drink in her hand and shifts to face the woman that decided to strike up conversation with her. It’s not everyday someone felt bold enough to approach her. The jagged scar gave her a rather . . . intimidating appearance it seems.

“I’d rather not talk about it,” her tone is flat and direct. She mostly didn’t want to talk about it because she doesn’t know what to say. In addition to embarrassment, it felt vulnerable, a crack in the foundation of a powerful relationship. It would give just the right person enough room to apply the right pressure to break it. She’d give no one that kind of power.

With the twitch of a small smile, Lex accepts the gesture to toast and gentle clinks her glass against the stranger’s. After a sip, she set it back down on the wooden bar top, “I’m Lex. And you are . . . ?” she inquires, her amber gaze drifts up and down in a signature critical assessment of the woman in front of her.
