Solitude. She’s supposed to be alone. Perhaps that why her guard is down. With eyes closed and ears submerged beneath the water as she floats, it’s hard to make out the muffled sound of Theo’s approach. There’s perhaps and echo of her name, but it’s lost in the sound of the water lapping against her ears.

She continues to float, blissfully unaware of his entrance.

There’s a calmness to this place that one can’t deny. After a recent trip with Killian, and the interruption by Lulu, Lex seeks the quiet solitude of an empty hot spring. The crisp night air fades as she sinks into the foggy water and the steam that rises from it. The thief leans back, taking a deep breath to keep her afloat on the surface as she closes her eyes, letting her mind wander and melt into nothingness as the sauna does its job loosening the tension that seems the plague her body.

Of course he’s thinking the same thing. The playful grin remains as she quickly glances over his outfit. It’s snug in all the right places. Yum.

Her gaze follows his towards the clerk. When he takes her hand, she instinctively moves closer, mirroring his movements like a practiced dance. Their footsteps are light and well-placed. If it wasn’t for the blaring alarm, they would have gotten away with it.

“Oh shit,” Lex laughs, nearly pushing Killian out the door as he pulled her along. No dragging necessary, she can keep up. Running to get away is part of what she does for a living, after all.

Autopilot kicks in, and the familiar maze that is Goldenrod’s alleyways comes back to her. Instinctively, she pull shim right, down a narrow offshoot of the larger alley they were just running through, “This way,” she smiles with a foreign confidence she hasn’t felt in a long time.

What seems like a dead end, curves sharply to the left. They trot down some stairs before reaching a fork in the road. She tugs him right. The first left would have been a dead end, the second left takes them back to one of Goldenrod’s main streets where they can easily mesh back in with the crowd. Lex stops short, catching her breath between fits of laughter. A bright smile turns towards Killian before she pulls him in for a kiss.

A deep breath fills her lungs with hot steam. Surprisingly, it’s immediately relaxing. The tension curled in her shoulders dissipates as the warmth surrounds her, inside and out. The pools were relaxing, but this steam room takes it to a whole new level.

The thick, white wisps of vapor obscure her vision in the small room. She thinks she’s alone, maybe she is. There’s a faint glow of the fiery rocks that draws her to it like a moth to a flame. Beside the stones is a vat of water with a large ladle. She reaches out to touch it, expecting the metal to sear her skin. It’s warm, but not unbearable. One hand grips the towel around her, the other gentle lifts the ladle to inspect it. Anyone with half a brain could figure it out. Still, it’s her first time experiencing a true steam room, “Hm, interesting,” she mumbles mostly to herself.

“I guess we weren’t,” Lex sighs in disappointment, withdrawing her own grip as he withdraws his fingers. Her heart still races with the promise of passion. For now, she’ll have to reluctantly let it fade. Instead, she lets frustration and annoyance towards the shop keeper replace it.

Of course, Killian doesn’t stop his tease. His wicked tongue licks his fingers clean, leaving Lex biting her lip in agony. It’s nearly impossible to not lunge forward and jump his bones here and now. He knows exactly how to drive her wild. She tenses, freezing in place, as he steps back to leave the dressing room, “Later,” she agrees, not relaxing until he’s clearly out of the room

A long exhale loosens the tightness in her shoulders and clams her excited nerves. Lex is quick to dress, sporting a very typical outfit: black skinny jeans, boots, a crop top, and leather jacket. The shop keeper is nowhere to be seen when she steps out of the room. She pokes her head into Killian’s with a knowing smile, “We should sneak out the back,” the clerk would be waiting for them in the front, leaving the back open for a quick, clean exit.

A sharp exhale stifles her chuckle. Of course he’s busy. Why wouldn’t he be? E holds far many more titles than Lex’s humble “thief”. She shifts in the ledge beneath the water, turning slightly to face the royal.

His question pulls the stifled laugh forward, accentuated by a mischievous grin. It’s rare she talked about such things in the open like this. Being one of the higher ups in Rocket, he’s privy to her skills, “Have you read the latest HNN article?” she referring to the one about the break in at the Mossdeep Space Center.

Despite their recent activities at home, her body burns with desire. There’s a renewed sense of longing fueled by a newly placed ring on her finger. She welcomes his passion, returning it equally as he presses her back against the dressing room wall. The shuffle of feet and the soft thump of her back against the wall is quiet. What’s not quiet, is the involuntary gasp of pleasure and soft moan against his lips elicited by his fingers.

“Killian,” she whispers in desire, reaching low to grasp tightly with the hand not tangled in his dark hair.

The sudden knocking on the wall of the dressing room make Lex gasp in surprise. Her grip around Killian tightens in surprise as her eyes grow wide.

”EH-HEM,” the shop keeper clears her throat loudly on purpose, “ONE per dressing room . . . this is a family place,” there’s an obvious growl in her deep voice before the sound of her footsteps fade away.

“S-sorry,” Lex mumbles, not really that loud. She finds Killian’s gaze, stifling a laugh between tightly pursed lips.

Lex too is surprised by the rather calm response to Killian’s prodding. Lulu must either be really high or turning a new leaf. Lex wouldn’t put her money on the later.

A small laugh does escape her at Lulu’s dry response. Even Killian and Lex hadn’t put on a show for the grunts yet . . . surprisingly. It helped that Killian’s office remained locked and secure under the protection of his rats and Slokings. Lex also isn’t one to spend more time than necessary on that submarine, especially after the affairs with Genesect, “Perhaps she’s just curious,” Lex sighs from behind Killian, sinking deeper into the warm bath until she’s full submerged. She tilts her head back, wetting and slicking back the long red hair that floats on the surface around her shoulders.

Lex catches a flash of his smile in the mirror before she feels the gentle touch of his fingers wander across her bare skin. His hot breath causes goose bumps to rise across her back and down her bare arms. The thought doesn’t need finishing, she knows what he means. He may catch her own salacious grin in the mirror before she slowly turns around to face him.

Her own hands wander, moving beneath the blazer and up to his chest. One by one, her fingers move over the buttons and she slowly begins to undo them, “We could . . .” she repeats softly, grinning up at her fiancé with a familiar, mischievous sparkle in her amber eyes. She slides he hand up his bare chest and wrap them around the back of his neck, pulling him in for a passionate kiss.

Lex is already struggling to reach the zipper on the back of her dress when Killian squeezes into the small room. He’s met with a small grin, playful but knowing, “I don’t mind at all,” A part of her knew he couldn’t stay away. She turns and moves her hair to present the zipper, “If you’re gonna watch, you can at least make yourself useful,” She casts the same playful grin over her shoulder and wiggles out of the dress when he’s finished with his task. A hand grabs for the black skinny jeans she plucked off the rack.

His touch lingers even after his fingers slip out from between hers. She misses the warmth but focuses on the task at hand. Lex separates and strolls through the aisle with the woman’s clothing. Her fingers gently run along the various article of clothing, stopping at the ones that catch her eye.

Eventually, there’s a few things slung over her forearm and she’s searching for a dressing room. She spares a glance back as she brushes open the curtain to a small nook with a mirror, “Find anything?” she calls back to Killian before drawing the curtain back behind her to change.

Lost in her own thoughts, the red head doesn’t even notice the other woman slide into the seat beside her at the bar. Lex is obviously distracted; a manicured figure taps rhythmically against the bar top. As hard as she tries, her thoughts wander into dark places. What the hell is Killian Decker up to?

The woman’s voice pulls her back to the present, just in time for a bartender to stop in front of them to request their orders, “Two old fashioneds, please,” she addresses the bartender before turning slightly towards Kano Iyona. There’s a moment of silence as her ever-critical glare gives the woman the once over. The familiar, and comforting, scent of cigarettes tickles her nose. It’s subtle, but there.

There’s a bitterness the tightens in her stomach at the question. Regardless, she plays nice, letting a small smile cross dark red lips, “It seems I am now,” her gaze floats back over towards the West Wing. She’s been promptly ditched it seems.

“Hm, unfortunately no. I was in the West Wing,” she too was not present for the Unown chaos. A quick glance around confirms it must have been quite the spectacle.

Lex laughs, looking back at him with a little grin. It doesn’t even cross her mind how much they’ve changed since being in Hoenn. Some for the better, some for the worse. Their life here in Johto was definitely simpler than in Hoenn. At least, before her mother got sick. Then it was a nightmare. Both regions held a significant amount of trauma for Lex, but with Killian by her side she could overcome it, without a doubt.

The sudden stop makes her change course. The momentum pulls her back and into him. A hand effortlessly slips around his waist. There’s a small frown, disappointment settling in as he suggests delaying their progress to change. Although unsaid, she agrees they would attract too much attention. With a sigh she accepts it and thinks for a moment, “Hmm, I think there’s a small store this way,” she points towards their left, down another street.

Lex takes the lead this time and tugs him along across the street and down another street. Another half block and they come across a small second-hand clothing store. They wouldn’t find anything fancy here, but that’s the point.
