Perhaps dream was the wrong thing to ask, considering most of their dreams are plagued by nightmares. Still, if this is a dream, there’s something sinister lurking waiting to pounce. Lex would choose to enjoy the moment and not dwell on what lies in the shadows, stalking them.

Her hand gently squeezes his in confirmation. Definitely not a dream.

The hand lowers back to her side, though her thumb gently traces the underside of the band in reassurance. Amber eyes flash over to him at the mention of their old stomping grounds. There’s a noticeable pep in her step at the idea of visiting the bar, “I think that’s a great start!” her pace quickens, following a familiar path towards the hole-in-the-wall bar, “We might be a little overdressed,” she grins back at him, obviously teasing. This certainly wasn’t the place for dresses and button-downs but she’s too excited to suggest pausing to change out of their current clothes.

She follows Killian Decker all the way to the threshold of the West Wing. Although heat boils in her chest, threatening to rupture and release the dark fires within, there’s something that hold her back. Lex finds herself unable to go forward. Her steps fall short, and she pauses, amber eyes staring down the empty hallway. She knows where this leads – hotel rooms. The implication is there, biting at the back of her mind like a chained up, rabid Mightyena.

What is she doing?

Lex smiles, shaking her head and laughing lightly at her own discomfort. Business. That’s all he’s doing back here. Her left thumb fidgets with the band on her left hand. Trust. That’s part of what this ring signifies. She spares a glance down at the diamond before the movement of her shadow catches her attention.

The crimson eyes of Smoke, the Gengar, peer up at her. Slowly, his white smile materializes from the dark. He senses her discomfort and offers his aid. She declines, shaking her head and shooing his image away. It would be easy to command him to follow Killian, to find him and report back. Lex ignores the pit in her stomach and turns around, swiftly walking back towards the party. She lets the empty crystal glass slide onto a nearby table before making her way back to the bar to order two more drinks. This time, she’ll wait patiently for him – she’d wait for him forever.

The drinks come swiftly. The bartenders at these events are quite efficient. Two crystal glasses with well-made Old Fashioned at placed in her empty hands. A tip and thankful nod is thrown towards the bartender before she turns. It hasn’t been that long, but she scans the crowd for Killian Decker.

Her amber gaze settles on the small group that’s formed around FERNANDO SILPH. A blonde (illeana reyes) she doesn’t know, the familiar Elite 4 member Stormy Silph, and Killian. What strange company. For a moment she simply watches, expecting the business to conclude soon and Killian to find her gaze again.

He takes something from Fernando, perhaps what he sought originally. The briefest of glances in her direction before turn to walk the opposite direction leaves the thief alone and confused. Furrowed brows watch him disappear towards the West Wing. Is he fucking ditching her? One second, my ass, she growls to herself, moving forward to follow. She passes an uncomfortable looking Stormy Silph. The brunette looks like she could use this drink more than Killian, “Here, you look like you could use a drink,” she bitterly gives Killian’s drink away before sipping, no, finishing hers and attempting to follow her fiancé to a hell she doesn't know exists.

Killian Decker & Stormy Silph & FERNANDO SILPH

Lex isn’t the best dancer, but she easily falls into step with Killian as he takes the lead. They haven’t danced like this in . . . well, have they ever danced like this? She doesn’t think so. It’s a pleasant experience, moving with him, being held by him. His warmth, his scent, it all makes the moment more perfect. She doesn’t want it to end, but it does.

The song fades away and so does his touch and attention. Lex follows his gaze over towards illeana reyes and FERNANDO SILPH. Does he know them? Apparently. Information is his job and people barter this precious commodity. This wouldn’t be the first time he’s stepped away to speak with someone, “Of course not,” she smiles, leaning to place a gentle kiss on his cheek, “I’ll get us some drinks,” she certainly wasn’t going to stand in the middle of the dance floor like a fool.

With that she turns away, walking to the bar to order a set of drinks for them.

Why the hell was she in Lilycove? Who knows. Hell, she doesn’t even know. It seems like a nice city. It’s on the water though which Killian Decker would hate. Nice place for scoping out future heists though. There are plenty of well-to-do business and house ripe for the taking.

She hesitates to TELEPORT off back to Lavaridge when she spots a familiar face. The Alakazam waits expectantly, but the command never comes. Lex obviously hasn’t learned her lesson about letting others deal with their own shit. Instead, she approaches ryuuzaki amemiya, a fairly neutral and calculating gaze, “What the hell are you lookin’ for?”

Oh shit! Bill Anderson had kyle lopez’s number apparently. Lex is impressed with the rogue shot. How the heck did he know who to shoot? At this point, anyone was fair game. The Killer had done a good job blending in with the crowd. However, the pool keeps getting shallower. Eventually the Killer wouldn’t be able to hide much longer.

Regardless of who the last Killer is, Lex is falling behind. A small sneer crossed crimson lips when Katherine Fairburne pilfers the loot off the dead first. Still, Lex snatches a LEFTOVER for later use along with another SODA POP in case they get thirsty.

Lex keeps to herself, choosing to follow behind Bill to avoid being run over by his cool new bike. Hers is very . . . average. Regardless she mounts and pressed forward. The Roserade hoped into the basket in the front. Her petaled hands reach forward, GIGA DRAIN sucks the life out of the foliage in their way, making it easier to blasé through.

Lex hasn’t seen Killian this excited about something in quite some time. It’s not only the prospect of dressing up and getting out on the town, but a possible breakthrough on his continued hunt. He’d been obsessing over space as of late, especially after their successful heist at this very Space center. The strange timing of the meteor shower proved interesting indeed.

The thief’s interest in all of this is minimal. It extends only as far as is needed to support Killian. Attending a fancy soiree full of League officials was not her idea of a good time. Having spent a bit of time in their custody, she fears some may recognize her. Well, maybe not all dressed up like this.

Her dress is simple, but it’s probably the fancies thing worn in quite a long time perhaps ever. Their line of work didn’t necessarily have elegant events such as this. A part of her is nervous, worried she won’t blend in. The tensions fade when he gently squeezes her hand, unintentionally calming the storm. Lex had barely paid the introduction any attention. Suddenly it’s over and Killian’s arm is wrapped around her waist, tugging her somewhere.

She follows, of course. He leads her out onto the dancefloor without much choice. She wouldn’t have said no, anyway, “A dance? she smiles up at him, placing her left hand on his shoulder as she spin to face him. The ring catches the light just right, distracting her with a brilliant sparkle before she turns her attention back to him, “I don’t think I’m very good at dancing,” hopefully he’s a good lead.

“It’s fine, Killian just . . . keep an eye out,” she sighs, flipping onto her stomach and crawl through the shaft, “Alright, Curly, let’s go,” she whispers, following the Rattata to her change of clothes and the rest of her pokemon.

While Killian flirts with a random blonde, Lex is shimmying out of her dress in the vents to trade it for the black body suit and utility belt with the rest of her pokemon. She’s half distracted as he struggled through his words. There’s really no point in trying to explain himself. She gets it. She understands he’s worried. It’s not every day you put yourself into a situation as dangerous as hers right now, especially when her emotions remain unstable.

Lex’s shadow grows, moving forward and onto the walls of the vent. The Shadow Gardevoir’s crimson eyes peer out from the darkness for only a moment before moving forward through the vent to take the lead and eliminate any obstacles in their way. Seeing the length of the dark, empty vent brings back some troubling memories. Lex takes a deep breath, touching her chest where her ring hangs from a chain around her neck, secure beneath the clothing. Anything for him.

Lex begins her crawl, following her guide through the maze towards the offices.

Well, this trip to the daycare turned out quite different than he expected. With a gentle smile, probably the gentlest smile he’s ever mustered, he blindly follows his partner away from the noise of the daycare to a more secluded, private place from them to bond. She doesn’t need to impress him; he has been smitten since the start. Of course he’ll stay with her, and he does for as long as it takes and more.

Finally, the end of the day has come The sun’s fading in the distance and their time together is cut short by the call of the other Gastly’s master. There’s a noticeable sorrow in her eyes as she prepares to drift away. He returns the snuggle with affection, smiling at the Lick. It sends shivers through his core that last long after she disappears.

“What the fuck is this, Smoke?” Lex growls, waving a piece of paper at the Gastly. He didn’t even notice his trainer creep up on him. Apparently, he wasn’t allowed at daycare anymore for some reason. Oops. With a heavy sigh, she returns the ghost, glancing towards the dark-haired woman leaving as she shot her a wink. Lex’s brows furrowed questionably but ultimately returned the gesture with a small smile and nod, leaving promptly with her pokemon in tow.

Incredible. That’s really the only word she can think of that comes close to describing this moment. Even that doesn’t do it justice. Walking hand in hand through their city for the first time in nearly two years was a strange feeling, especially when she truly believed she would never be able to come back here. Trouble is never far behind, so it will be a short trip, she knows that, but with him by her side they could do anything.

Lex’s attention is torn between scanning the familiar buildings surrounding and inspecting the ring on her left hand. It feels heavy and strange placed there but welcome, nonetheless. She lifts her left hand as they walk, letting Killian guide her down a familiar path. Her head tilts, admiring the sparkling gem embedded in the white gold band, “I still can’t believe it,” she whispers, her attention moves to Killian while her brows pinch playfully along with a smirk, “Are you sure this isn’t a dream?”

His eyes shine more brilliant than she’s ever seen them shine before. Even from behind the blur of tears she can see his joy, feel it in the way she takes her hand. She blinks repeatedly, clearing her vision to watch him place the ring on her finger. It takes her breath away with an audible gasp. Despite how light it is, it feels heavy. Perhaps it’s a side effect of the implications, not that they worried her in the least. As far as Lex is concerned, this is just a formality. She had already committed herself to him completely. She has always been and will always be his.

“Killian it’s-“ she’s cut off by his kiss as he stands up. He pulls her in and she wraps her arms around his neck tightly. Lex returns every bit of passion in the kiss. It’s laced with an immeasurable amount of joy. She could kiss him forever – and will. He pulls away, much to her dismay and reluctance. She’s not finished yet, but the question he asks is enough to distract her completely, “Go into Goldenrod?” there’s surprise in her voice and she turns to look again at the city’s skyline. Of course she wants to visit. She’s nodding before she answers, “Yes, please,” she smiles brightly in anticipation, turning back towards him with a loving gaze. Her left hand reaches up to cup his cheek, ring sparkling in the setting sun, “I love you, Killian,” she say, pouring everything she is and everything he’s made her into the words. It’s reflected in her eyes as she gaze up and her King, her world, her everything.
