Death Game! Contest. You and 19 other players were brought to this waiting room on standby while the "arena is prepared." Despite the lobby chairs lined up on either side and the assortment of children's blocks and magazines in the corner for your entertainment, it's... pretty boring. Perhaps there's no choice but to socialize with your fellow contestants-- after all, you've had plenty of time to get to know one another. But what if they're the killer? And what if you're first on the hit list?  Awhile ago, you experienced a strange, tipping sensation. The floor, walls and ceiling seemed to shake and rattle as if disturbed by a passing earthquake. Some things slid around the room, but nothing was damaged and things soon settled. You signed a consent form, so you suppose it's okay. Right? It's okay that the lobby is moving?  "CONTESTANTS!" A clear, smooth voice issues suddenly from the overhead speakers. "The preparations are complete. The Clever Contest will begin in just a few moments." "A reminder that no cell phones, pagers, GPS devices, firearms, or other weaponry will be permitted inside the arena. Real violence against other players is also strictly prohibited! We may provide 'Death Game' services, but we want all our players to feel safe and secure here at MASTERMIND. Have fun! Survive! And be careful who you trust..." The shipping container begins to shudder and rumble. A terrible CRRREEAKKK splits from every direction as the door at the end of the hallway-- no, the entire WALL at the end-- falls outward, landing with a shuddering THUD. The stench of dust and stale air hisses from the far end. There is no light. The space yawns like a square-shaped mouth, promising nothing. > ENTER THE ARENA INSTRUCTIONS For Stage Zero, establish your character in the game. This will function as both an introduction and a chance to size up your competition. Make alliances, make enemies, or lay low and hope nobody singles you out first. Don't forget-- the killer is watching! Tag at least one other player in the body of your introductory post for 1 point. This could be an interaction or just an observation! This free point also applies to the killer. THERE ARE NO GROUP TASKS THIS ROUND. As you venture into the unknown, please choose a KILL NUMBER between 1-20. Numbers can repeat. If the killer's secret number matches yours, you may be eliminated. If a player fails to post a Kill Number, they may automatically be targeted. In the event that your character is targeted by the killer, the circumstances of your "death" will be summarized via a brief mod post. Please select your preferred style of death!
