Noelani was busy minding his business and just exploring route 103 when he caught the sight of smoke rising in a bit away into the small forested area next to the route. He knew it was probably trouble and maybe he shouldn’t go but he was also curious of what was happening. Grumbling a bit to himself he turned and began jogging towards the source of the smoke.

The rising heat hit him first which meant that more then likely he was dealing with a fire and not just some wild pokemon using a fire type move. Something that was confirmed as soon as he passed a few final trees and emerged onto a clearing. His eye immediately landed on the old-style temple that was currently busy burning down. There were no people in the vicinity yet but there was a frantic Roselia waving its arms in distresses.

As soon as the pokemon saw him it was upon him making urgent sounds and waving towards the temple itself. Noelani knew what it was getting at and simply closed his eyes in resignation before releasing two of his pokemon. Once both Aloha and Octy martialized the alolan took out everything electronic and put it to the side before ordering the Octillery “Octy use Soak on both me and Aloha.”

Realizing what the plan was the Octillery swiftly followed the command and drenched both him and the Bewear in water with another sigh he could only mutter “This is going to suck.”

Seeing the face of the man Noelani briefly assured him while waving his hand “Don’t sweat it he’ll be fine. I’ve seen Bewears munch on Crabrawler shells and even one that slurped on a muk and walked away just fine.”

Focusing on picking up a few cans near him the alolan also made sure to cast an eye towards his starter to make sure she hadn’t gotten into trouble. So far it seemed she had managed to bring up a few wild pokemon and was chattering them up.

Satisfied with that Noelani instead turned to answer the question “Well I’m from Melemele Island. Though I’ve stayed on most of the major islands. Any favorites from your visits and more importantly tell me did you get scammed while there?” the last part was accented with a grin after all it was almost tradition to try and scam the tourists that visited.

It seemed his silliness had been taken well enough so Noelani was satisfied with having judged the atmosphere right, in fact he had to smother a grin at the brief toothy smile he had glimpsed from the corner of his eye. He was already growing on her though wisely he decided to not comment on what he had seen, he did have some tact after all.

It seemed they wouldn’t have to be breaking in seeing as lulu brought out the keys to the building. Following after her Noelani just winked at the Solrock gazing at him, a bit creepy but he understood it was being protective of its trainer and the alolan couldn’t fault him for that. Still as they entered and the darkness enveloped them, he couldn’t help the amused comment that escaped him “Is us meeting and exploring dark places where it’s more likely to get stabbed or mugged going to be a thing?”

Of course, unlike him his partner for the job was more prepared and swiftly illuminated things with a flashlight. A snort and a mutter of “My Hero.” Came from him before nodding at her question of finding out “Let’s do it then.”

While it might have been fun to explore the building, it was technically a job, from shady site or not, and as such he did inject a bit of professionalism in it. Looking at his surroundings with a bit of regret the alolan moved towards the stairs. As they began ascending towards the roof Noelani would throw a question towards lulu “So do you have any suggestion on how we do this? We have to relocate the nests though more than likely that would mean dealing with the protectors of the nests as we do that.”

At the bark from the vulpix Noelani mocked frowned before turning to her and replying “No, burning it a bit to smoke them out is not a valid strategy.”

That only made Wikolia huff and roll her eyes. With a chuckle that was only a bit concerned Noelani would continue going up till they reached the door leading to the rooftop before making way so lulu could pass, she was the one with the key after all.

Noelani eyes did widen in surprise when he saw who exactly would be working with him right before a grin overcame his face. Not wasting time, he was quick to put a hand on his forehead and swoon dramatically “Oh my, that passionate greeting stirred my heart. To think the fates would conspire to bring us together once more, truly a blessing.”

The alolan would keep his wiggling for a few more moments and then switch to a more causal stance while trailing off with a few snickers. Next to him Wikolia simply rolled her eyes at him and barked out a greeting towards the woman.

Shaking off some of the silliness knowing to not push it too much, yet at least, Noelani amusedly added “Ready to shoo away some birds Hoody.” while moving towards her and the building only stopping once he was next to her “So, did you get a key or something to get in and reach the roof for this cause I sure as hell didn’t and while I can I doubt it would be appreciated by the clients for us to break in.”

Rubbing at his chin he would throw another look at the structure “I do wonder what has made it’s home here. Maybe one of the more urban adjusted flying types or maybe some bug types, hmmm,” the statement was more half mumble to himself as he waited for the reaction of his temporary coworker both to his question and just in general to the buffoonery he had pulled off.

Running a hand through his hair Noelani finally arrived at where the location of the job he had taken was. He had found the request online from some third-party company that was sort of shady. Well more then a bit shady as he was pretty sure this was a mirror request to a ranger one, he had heard one mutter about it recently. Not that he was particularly bothered by that after all money was money. This time he didn’t have much for a disguise besides the sunglasses and a fake mole under his eye though his red T-shirt with a golden Salamence on it was pretty tacky and eye catching.

The location itself was an old building and supposedly on top of it there was nest of pokemon. The problem with that was that besides the pokemon nesting there being a general menace to the surroundings the building itself was right next to a powerline and builds up of new nests on it were becoming evident.

That’s where Noelani and whoever else had taken the job came in, evicting the pokemon. Giving a hum the alolan looked towards the Vulpix next to him “Hmmm I wonder who we’ll have to partner up with.”

On the bark from Wikolia Noelani just nodded his head “You are right, it doesn’t really matter but I am curious. Well, nothing but to wait and see then eh.”

Well usually Noelani wasn’t one to volunteer for things or to be in service to the public but somethings just hit the right notes from time to time. The case of cleaning the Slateport beach from accumulate trash was one of them.

Back home on his island and just in general in Alola it was common to gather and clean beaches especially the ones visited by the tourists. In a way Noelani had grown up with that duty and it was just a natural thing to do for him.

It was because of that Noelani had sort of picked up the job out of habit before he could realize what he was doing really. That’s why he was currently walking around with a bag collecting whatever trash he could find while along side him walked his Bewear holding a similar bag and aiding him with the job. Not too far away with him was also his starter Kala. The Bellossom had her own job and was currently using sweet scent to attract wild pokemon and rope them up in helping with the cleaning as well.

Feeling the bump against his leg brought Noelani out of his musing and made him see who had done that. Humming he then turned to the voice that had addressed him and quickly spoke “Mahh it’s alright Aloha is much the same way.”

He made sure to gesture towards the Bewear to accent his point and just in time it seemed as the pokemon tired to devour a plastic bag instead of putting it in the trash.

A gasp escaped Noelani as he clutched at his heart with both hands “Creepy? That hurts to be called as such. My poor, poor self-esteem might never recover from the blow.” ever being the straight man his Vulpix flicked her tails at his leg as soon as he said that before wandering a bit off to the side.

Not to be deterred though the Alolan continued with a shrug of his shoulders and answered the woman’s question even if she didn’t expect a response “Well people that have somewhere to be don’t usually roam dark alleys…. Unless they are up to something unsavory.”

He made sure to pause and gasp dramatically again while putting a hand to his mouth before adding “Should I be fearing for my chastity right now?”
[break][break]
Noelani was going a bit more ham then usual but it was good to test out the boundaries of how far he could push it that and maybe a tiny bit of him wanted to annoy the hooded woman a bit.
[break][break]
He was once more distracted though when the alley was somewhat bathed in orange light. With an amused sigh Noelani turned his head only to see Wikolia firing a Flamethrower up in the sky. It wasn’t aimless though because it clipped and at the same time illuminated a Corviknight. Of course, she managed to pick a fight in such a short amount of time Noelani wasn’t keeping an eye on her.

Diving the Corviknight opened its beak and warbled out a Metal Sound making both the Vulpix and Noelani himself wince at the screech. Once it was close enough the bird’s wing glowed white while it aimed to hit Wikolia with Steel Wing which prompted the vulpix to spit out a Fire Spin making the other pokemon stop in its tracks.

Noelani didn’t have to tell his pokemon to be on guard trusting her to know better, she always has been one of his more battle orientated pokemon. They didn’t have to wait long before the Corviknight bust from the wall of flames with the telltale signs of Brave Bird only to be met with a Fire Blast to its’ face. The confined space of the alley worked in their favor having not allowed the steel type to gather speed meaning the hit it had just eaten was enough to knock it off from its attack.

Not wasting time Wikolia spat out a Flamethrower at the bird and as soon as she cut off the attack Noelani threw a pokeball in order to try and capture the Corviknight.

If he managed to get it, he would then quickly make to catch up to the hooded woman his amused voice piping up once more “Also Miss Hoody with your get up and the Solrock ominously hovering behind you are by far the creepier looking from the two of us. It does have its charm though.”
