Loveless purred and nudged into Lex's hand. "Espee." she mewed, placing a paw on the redhead's leg, demanding they lower so she could crawl onto her lap. [break][break]

If Killian couldn't offer Lex comfort, at least Loveless could. All he wanted was to go over and hold her. Kiss her. Not just for her sake but for his own. Lex soothed his worries as much as he alleviated hers.[break][break]

"I'm anxious." he admitted, "Until twenty minutes ago, I was the only one in my body."[break][break]

But he didn't want Deoxys gone. He desired to understand it, use it - control it. So what then? He'd just go to sleep next to Lex, not sure if he'd wake up in the middle of the night and find himself strangling her? No. Even with his promise, she wasn't safe with him here, not like this. [break][break]

Killian's face twisted; it crumpled into an ugly mess of furrowed brow and sad eyes. He turned and met her amber gaze with a look so full of confliction and hurt that it could only mean the worst. [break][break]

He knew what he had to do, even if he didn't want to do it. "I should leave." The words come out choked, strained like he tried to trap them in his throat, but they'd forced themselves out. [break][break]

Not even back together a year and Killian is yanking them apart again. [break][break]

"Not forever. Only until I have a grasp on whatever is happening."

Ah, yes, Deoxys. The visitor from beyond the stars. Close to a year of searching, and now it was his. They were connected - mind and body. Beneath flesh and bone, inside his veins mixed with his blood, the creature lay. Through their bond came clarity. Limpidity that Fernando and his brume couldn't provide. A gust of wind to a pile of leaves, Deoxys freed Killian from his Silph-made shackles.[break][break]

He was a rat no longer. If he'd ever truly been one in the first place. [break][break]

Killian shifted, slipping a hand into the front pocket of his raincoat while the other readjusted his hood. "You underestimate my mind." and by extension him. A mistake he imagined Fernando made often. Not just with him but others. For the man who sat atop the world, the little folk must be nothing more than game pieces, after all. [break][break]

"But now that you mention it, I have had a bit of a migraine lately." he pinched the bridge of his nose. "It's why I wanted to meet. That and I have some information." [break][break]

His thumb tapped at the Rotom Phone in his pocket, waking it. Hijack didn't make a sound, already aware of the plan. Quickly, it composed a text to bryan delarosa and priam conrad . [break][break]

I'm with him now. Be ready to close in on my location in two minutes.

Killian's office may have changed locations from submarine to casino, but the mess remained the same. Mounds of paperwork scattered across mahogany, a small library's worth of books sprawled on the scarlet carpet. If not for the sparsity of furniture outside his desk and the built-in bookshelves on the right wall. The room would look like a complete sty. [break][break]

It's not just his office that's oddly empty either. There wasn't a trace of a slot machine or poker table on any of the first three floors. The whole casino lacked furnishing. Killian was looking over paperwork to fix that when Summer knocked. [break][break]

"Oh, Summer." he looked up, "You're early." or maybe he's running behind. Frankly, it's hard to tell which these days. [break][break]

At her apology, a faint, teasing smile laced his lips. "It wouldn't have happened at all if you remembered to call me Killian." He hated the formality of surnames almost as much as he loathed the smell of the ocean. [break][break]

"Either way, it's alright. I'm more bothered you've given Mars something else to tease me over."

Deoxys leaped to the right, narrowly avoiding the incoming rocks. Predicable, or so it thought. It's only once the glass beneath them shattered that Deoxys realized damaging it hadn't been their aim. [break][break]

Clever.[break][break]

Its tentacles retracted into its back as it fell, eyes on the ground. Deoxys may have fortified its host, but the flesh is still human. And humans were soft, squishy things. Easily bent and broken - slow to heal when injured. That couldn't be allowed to happen.[break][break]

Biomass leaked from its pores and formed a protective cocoon of red and blue around its body. Seconds later, it impacted the ground. Deoxys shuttered from inside its shell of flesh. [break][break]

Melody would see the biomass writhe, clearly pained. [break][break]

Enough of these limitations. It couldn't leave its host, but Deoxys could enhance it further. Bend the rules that bound it. Amongst the dust and debris kicked up from its fall, Deoxys began to change. A portion of the biomass layered its host skin while the rest sank into the body. Muscles swelled, and a multitude of tentacles formed on its back. [break][break]

With a mighty roar, it blasted the cloud away to reveal something new. Something different. [break][break]

Something Monsterous [break][break]

Deoxys lunged forward in its new form. A set of tentacles lined with jagged, razor-like teeth whipped violently at Cobalion. Another, less sharp tentacle reached for the girl, attempting to yank her from her stead and into the air.

She didn't ask, but now he can't help but ask himself: Would he pick Deoxys over her?[break][break]

Killian wanted to say no. He wanted to believe with every fiber of his being that if forced to, he'd cut it out of his body and never look back. Anything for Lex, right? If it meant her happiness, her safety, there'd be nothing he wouldn't do. [break][break]

He looked at her.[break][break]

That's not joy in her eyes. It's a messy cocktail of fear, anger, and pain. And she isn't safe with her back against the wall, holding her knees. [break][break]

Shackled by the megaton weight of doubt and distress, Killian's heart sank to his stomach. She didn't know what to do. He didn't know what to say. [break][break]

The silence lingered uncomfortably long until Loveless broke it. She stalked down the stairs and to Lex's side. Rubbing against the redhead's leg, she tried her best to offer her comfort.[break][break]

Killian watched, the tightness in his chest growing worse. "I don't know." he finally said, "But I won't let it attack you again. Ever."

I can't believe I've been here for a year. Time sure flies. When I joined Hoenn, things were rough for me. I'd gotten out of a five-year relationship that ended badly. I was at the lowest point I'd been in a while. Definitely shows when I look at Xander Belmont's app.

No stretch to say that Hoenn helped me through a difficult time. Still is, if I'm being honest.

Killian squinted, less concerned about her tone and more the look in her eyes. Again, his spine shivered. Whatever ideas were brewing in Lulu's head couldn't be good. [break][break]

"You sound like Lex." and just like her, Lulu was wrong. "It's hard to explain, but it doesn't feel like it's trying to take over." Not that there weren't moments when Deoxys fought for the reins. The war of wills they'd waged in Killian's living room came to mind.[break][break]

Wasn't that proof Lulu and Lex were right? [break][break]

He nodded. "I wouldn't say I hulked out, but yeah, I tore it clean off." diamond eyes darted around the room in search of something large and heavy. [break][break]

Killian

- Currently exploring Killian's new symbiotic bond with Deoxys. Both what that means for him, it, and his relationships with Alexandra Briarwood.

- While Lulu Flint has, and will likely continue to be of help in regards to Deoxys, Killian's reached out to one of Rocket's biologists, Ceri Glynn.

- Speaking of Ceri Glynn, I've got a plot in the works with Azul involving her and Killian experimenting with Pokerus. Said plot will eventually involve Killian's sister amaryllis karneva.

- Will be opening Killian's casino sometime this month with an event.

- Plotting with Eris Halla to teach her interrogation / torture tactics o.o.

- BARNABY FINCH and Killian have started to interact more. They're currently on a mission together that will lead to more stuff in the future.

- The rest of my plots involve canons. Things like SPECTRA, Martín del Mar and Unown/11th Hour, as well as the incoming meteor with Lulu Flint.

Xander

- Gym threads! I've finished two so far and a third one is close to wrapping up as well.

- He is finally starting to look into the meteor fragment he got during his Meteor Falls excursion. He begrudgingly asked his father, @idris to help him. I'm expecting to do more stuff with that soon.

- Should be doing more with mother Yvette Belmont in the near future as well.

- Met Amelia Livy during the speed dating event and hit it off with her. He plans to show her around his gym. Will be picking her brain about the history of the Draconid.

- Still mentoring under Katherine Fairburne.

- Overall, I'd like to get Xander more involved in the overarching League plots. Particularly interested in having him learn what happened during the Groudon raid. The plan is to have him figure out where Groudon and Regidrago went in the aftermath.
