Hearing the man's name brought a small chuckle from out his chapped lips. How ironic. "I'm Ezra." He responded before slipping the vulpix into his newly prepared home. Then, with a small huff, Ezra lifted himself off the ground and dusted off the remnants of gravel from his knees. "I can totally print these out by the way. I'm thinking they'll come out prettyyy sweet."



As two continued to converse, Sol mewed softly and began to approach the Meowstic, Curiosity sparkled in her eyes as she circled around him, her head slightly tilted. As she did so, another pair of Pokémon had emerged from their surroundings, just as threating as the last. "I think you're a Pokémon magnet." Ezra laughed with a small head shake. Unlike before, he didn't really interact with the incoming Pokémon, and simply allowed them to waddle their way around them.

Firmly nodding along to the blonde's strict orders, the young reporter adamantly refused to take his attention away from him, as the room itself was filled to the brim with horrors he couldn't fully digest just yet. Just that previous glance at the debilitated Pokémon was enough to make his heart drop, much more would've left him out of commission. Just like that trembling girl.



This was just all so fucked up. Every fucking bit of it was fucked up. His heart beat quickened. He could feel the effects of watching the world's absolute cruelty unfold come into fruition, as his body began to melt and bend to the will of his crippled mind. 'Don't think. Don't think.' His thoughts were as ragged as his breaths.



"Yes sir." He uttered out without delay. While he didn't quite have a Pokémon with teleportation, his Espeon and him could help carry out some of the wounded causalities. It's certainly something. Ezra's eyes fluttered to the whimpering girl and the feeling of pity began to coarse through his veins. "Stay safe." Is all he could muster out before turning to exit the dorm. Any additional time spent there would've brought him closer to the brink of insanity.

The entire scene unfolded in a flash. Act one included the set up; the purple ant blaring it’s commands (?), the female rocket screaming at it to protect, and it’s eventual proclamation to attack. The second Act was faster and packed with more thrills than Ezra could reasonably take. Within the same time he uttered out an audible “holy shit” everything had erupted into flames. The ant, which appeared angered by one of their presence, had shot out an electrifying beam at one of them. Yet, despite its lethality, its victim had come out unscathed.

Blinking, Ezra had to drag himself out of the state of trance everything had left in him. He had almost forgotten that he was an actor in this play too. The tallest of the group, a blonde, had turned to them and barked out death warrant for...the ant? Ezra wasn’t quite sure. But those details weren’t necessary right now. “Excuse me, sorry.” He pushed himself forward and into the room. The idea of loyalty towards an organization like Team Rocket was still an absolute joke to him. He didn’t care what happened to this submarine or if the organization evaporated after the dust settles. That didn’t mean he could stand by and let others potentially get hurt by that thing. ”What’s the plan...sir?” His eyes glanced towards the injured Pokémon. Fuck. “I, uh, I can maybe help transport any of the injured.”

Holy mother of Wooloo was Ezra inwardly screaming. Alarm bells, sirens, the whole sha-bang was blaring inside his head, setting off a sporadic spiral of emotions to erupt inside of him. Not only was he dealing with the idea of smooching his new MAFIA LEVEL STRONG BOSS, but he also had to wrestle with the fact that he just kissed a considerably attractive man who happened to look like an extremely cute girl. Damn was he confused. Chu-e's little nose probe somewhat pulled him back to reality as he discretely declared their next line of action in his feminine cutesy voice.

"Ah yes! I would love to check out that with you," His voice was brimming with emotion, though, someone with intuition could discern the slight hinge of fear that was laced between the squeaks of excitement. "Lead the way, cupcake."

Ezra accepted his boss' hand with slight hesitation. He knew they had to act like natural couple would, but... his hands had manifested into the definition of clammy. Cold and moist, they were the nightmare of college girls worldwide. Alas, there was no going around this integral part of their deception.

As Ezra continued to plan out their method of capture, his eyes would wander over to the strange man next to him, perplexed by his sporadic movement and jittery attitude. 'What's with th-' that's when the pungent scent hit him. 'Ohhhhh.'  Everything suddenly became clear to him. His movements, his fear of butt probing, his reaction to Ezra's suggestion-- everything. "No...No, I don't think we'll catch one tonight."

Looking back at the herd, Ezra attempted to refocus his attention onto the bulk of the plan, knowing full well that the results of today's mission rested on his capabilities alone. But, due to his own childish weaknesses, his mind couldn't help but continuously break off from it's line of concentration. Back and forth, up and down, like a seesaw it went. Moving from stake-out to the man, wooloos to the man, aliens to the man. Until he finally cracked. "Hey, sooooooo quick quick question. Would you mind if I-" Before he could continue, Ezra noticed a flash appear in his perpetual vision. 'Dammit'.

With a small groan, he grabbed the man's wrist (because wooloo knows he wouldn't be able to keep up on his own accord) and ushered him towards the the direction of the flash. Ezra attempted to hush the man while doing so, hoping they could MAYBE sneak up on the Pokémon. "Prepare your butt...it's probably right over there."

Blinking, Ezra stared back at the horde of Dreepy, unsure of how to react. Again, it was all such an obvious intimidation tactic, but for someone as normal as him, it was super effective. Was his answer insufficient to the recruiter? Did they want him to go into more detail? Thoughts rattled in his head as his legs trembled at the sight of the Pokémon looming closely in front of his eyes. “I-“ Before he could continue, a portal etched itself onto the north facing wall of the warehouse, releasing croaking Dragapult.

The sight of this large Pokémon flinging himself towards Ezra nearly brought a blood curling scream out of his quivering lips. Nearly. Thankfully, right before the Dragon’s appearance, Ezra had taken the initiative of biting down on his bottom lip. By the time the Pokémon had disappeared into nothingness, a stream of blood had already begun to swirl in his mouth, leaving a bitter taste of iron.

That’s when a male figure erupted from the darkness. Donned in all black and a Fox mask, he approached Ezra with a dagger, at which he soon offered the trembling man after mentioning how he had to “prove himself”.

All color drained from his face. This was the moment he feared the most. The dreaded evaluation of his worthiness. With a shaky breath, he reached out and accepted the sheathed dagger. He gulped. ”Alright. I’ll...” He really didn’t want to say it. He really really didn’t. ”I’ll do whatever it takes.”

”Yeahhh, this isn’t something I would willingly do otherwise,” he admitted to her. It was better to let her know of his reluctance now than later. Ezra didn’t need any pretty girls clinging onto him for comfort while he tries not to piss himself. “Serena, huh? Okay. I’m...Raz.” Chomping down on his bottom lip, the reporter almost caught himself revealing his name to this otherwise complete stranger. Idiot.

After agreeing to her suggestion with a head nod, the two began to approach the cabin in front of them, carefully ensuring there were no ghost pokemon ready to just jump out at them from the window or door. Ezra grimaced at the dilapidated cabin’s shattered front windows and ajar door, already feeling immensely uncomfortable with the situation. This place was NOT safe.

Ezra cautiously climbed the front two steps of the porch, each step creaking louder than the next, and inched his way to the door. From where they stood, they could see that the door was barely hanging onto it’s rusted hinges; one good push would sending it flying back. ” Let’s stay close together.” With the door ajar, Ezra could peak his head in and get a general sense of the inside’s layout. From what he saw, it was mainly empty, with the exception of a few pieces of outdated furniture. ”You ready Freddy?”

After sending off the Ronster after Rocket's "precious cargo", mother nature had angrily given him a life or death call, sending the man flying towards the restrooms. Sure the sub was sinking, sure he might drown - but dammit he was not about to die with intestine full of shit. Upon zipping up and leaving the restroom, Ezra began to jog up and down the hallways of the submarine, unsure where to really go. Every corridor looked as hollow as the next, leaving him utterly helpless in this dire situation.

That is until he heard some chatter come down from one of the various hallways he had previously slid past. People? Hopefully they're some of the nice rockets, he thought to himself before turning back around towards the noise. Upon reaching the doorway he noticed several figures occupy both the outside and inside of the populated room. Their faces were familiar, but the type of familiar that made you think 'I've seen you SOMEWHERE at SOMEPLACE before' rather than 'I've spoken to you before.'

As his eyes hopped from one face to another, they eventually found themselves rested upon a purple...ant? To be frank, Ezra wasn't quite sure what he was looking at. It could've been some decorative dining room chair for all he knew. "Uhhhhh..." Was the only thing he could bring himself to say, as the atmosphere seemed....tense. "Did I walk into something orrrrr."

To say his innocent mind went blank would be an understatement. Choi’s physical touch quite literally fried him inside out. A hue of reddish pink spread across his cheeks as he used every bit of inner strength to understand what his boss was saying without physically jerking his head away, like he would normally do in any other situation. It had just been a long... long time since someone else sat this close to him. “...got...it” he murmured beneath his breath, barely able to keep his body steady. Both to avoid humiliation and attention by onlookers.

Choi’s words rang in his head for several seconds after he spoke them. Could he really do it? Frankly, he wasn’t quite sure what he was capable of. His last few years had been spent mindlessly writing “heart warming” articles for wooloo sake. Behind his tinted black sunglasses Ezra squeezed his eyes closed, took a deep breath, then opened once more. The raging panic in him subsided through this process, temporarily leaving behind a thoughtless, worry-less , and fearless Ezra.

“Apologies.” Was the last thing he mumbled before he wiggled Choi’s rested head from off his shoulder, turned towards him, took a moment to caress his left cheek and then began to lean in for a supposed kiss on the lips. But, in reality, he planted kiss on his cheek and used both chu-e’s long hair and his own arm and body as shields to block onlookers from noticing his other hand snake into the purse and snatch the jump drive.

Upon pulling away, Ezra immediately slipped the drive into his front pocket, and leaned back into his previous position. But that was also when he realized what he had just done. “UHHHH...” he chomped down on his lip. They were a normal couple through the eyes of the public. Normal couples kiss. Can’t panic. “I’msosorrysi-imeanch-imeankitty.”

Ezra obeyed his boss’s gesture and sat alongside him on the bench. He understood his disguise was...less than great, but it did what it needed to do! His face was optimally covered and no one could recognize him. Hopefully.

Noticing his boss’ usage of his normal low voice, the grunt decided to follow suite when replying. “Nahnahnah, I’m just a little rusty haha.” This was partly true. As a reporter there has been a few occasions where he had to go somewhat in disguise, however, those moments were few and far in between. And usually he was accompanied by some college student with a camera, not a young underboss for Team Rocket. It’s all just a learning curve...or that’s what Ezra told himself. “So, uh, question,” he piped up, his gaze averted onto him, “What should I...call you? Boss? Boss man? Sire? Sir? Ch-“ He cut himself off. There was no telling where a potential mine could be, and well, he still unsure what kind man Chu-e Choi was.

What in wooloo's name does a organization like Team Rocket need with some nasty ass cabin in the middle of nowhere. Ezra certainly didn't know. In fact, why did it have to be a supposedly HAUNTED cabin and not some COZY cabin like ones from Pinterest. Why did Team Rocket absolutely HATE Ezra and give him such a mission when they know he'll most likely shit his pants. These were all questions the trembling rocket was dying to known the answers to. At least he wasn't doing this alone....is what he originally thought. But knowing the type of people Team Rocket has to offer, he wasn't quite sure if that was another negative in disguise or not.

Resting against a sign post, which pointed towards the direction of Petalburg city and Rustboro City, Ezra took one last whiff of the musky air around him. It was all he could do to shake off his jitters, which were beginning to creep up his legs and consume him completely. Ah, tis the life of a rocket imposter. His eyes glanced over towards his left, then his right, then forward. The cabin sat nearly several feet away from where he stood, yet he could still FEEL the ghostly aura emitting from it's shattered windows and ajar door.
