Skadi thoroughly agrees with Suzu's sentiment, barking almost contentedly as she finally stops digging and instead moves to yank something from the sand. Watching as even his own companion turns to bully him, Ryuuzaki can't quite do anything but accept his fate. He's like a wounded puppy, acting up with watery eyes and a small pout as he takes yet another small bite of his chocolate bar.

"Can't believe I'm being bullied by the two I care the most for..."

But he jests, breaking out into laughter as soon as Suzu attempts to swat at him or Skadi kicks his shin. Here in this safe haven, they're no longer people tied down by duties, just the same old Suzu and Ryuu all the way back from Solaceon.

And he'll pray that they'll stay the same, no matter what future lies ahead of them.

No matter how hard you try to prevent it, history repeats itself. The sudden explosion catches him off guard but perhaps, not as much as the scream that tears into his mental. The cry comes loud, sharpened edges sinking deep into his bones as the memories begin to resurface and he threatens to choke.

But he can't, doesn't allow himself to get swept up in the panic.

He works quick, paired with the rhythm of an alert Lapras as they begin to pull away the rubble as quickly and precisely as they possibly can. At some point, Froppy joins in the efforts, blowing any heavy debris away with a stream of bubbles as Ryuuzaki desperately searches. As soon as he spies a sign of life, he's working to free Suzume Amemiya from the mess, shaking hands firmly wrapping under her knees and back as he lifts her up in a bridal carry and places her onto Lily's back.

'Froppy, take point. Lily, please...'

His voice is cracking, the man carrying her Zorua and pulling himself onto the Lapras' shell as his eyes dart over her legs to determine the extent of injury - A few scrapes, a manageable amount of bleeding and a gradually reddened and swelling ankle indicative of a sprain or possibly a fracture. Other than that, she seems to be breathing just fine, albeit probably a little faster than usual considering the pain shooting through her system. As the group moves to escape the crumbling ruins, Ryuuzaki's pulling out his first aid stash, allowing Lily's Life Dew to begin the healing of smaller wounds as he starts to manage the rest.

'Easy there, Suzu. You're gonna be fine.'

It's days like these that he feels like just walking into the ocean and letting the tides sweep him away. The praise that Killian Decker offers him is naught but hollow, a way of communicating that the admin had indeed secured the Poipole. So with that distraction out of the way, all that's left is to take a picture of the mural and hightail it out of here, right?

He most certainly prays it is.

Urging Lily to go before him, Ryuuzaki sends Froppy right in Killian's direction to provide support, booking it right back into the shrine room and attempting to spy any signs of Alexandra or Suzume.

'Time to fuckin book it, people. Shit's going down.'

But perhaps, he speaks too lightly of their situation, the sudden rumbling of the room heightening his senses as he hears the clatter of a device on the ground. His hand instinctively reaches out towards the noise, the presence of another sensed as he watches the ceiling begin to crumble. The sky is dead, the stars are falling and all he knows is a vague sense of panic brewing in his chest.

Instinct tells him to move even before he knows what he's doing, his hand gripping onto a familiar wrist as he pulls her towards him and out of the way of a falling minior. His eyes lock with his sister's, a quiet sigh escaping his lips as Lily begins to blast the falling stars away with a Hydro Pump.

'Come on, Suzu. We need to get out of here.'

Over on Froppy's end, the young Froakie spies the imminent danger approaching Killian Decker, letting out a strong Hydro Pump at the Growlithe in hopes of stopping it in its tracks. As she hops over to the man, she lets out a stream of Bubbles at Caeser, further attempting to block his way before he can strike.

No one is getting close without a fight.

He doesn't mean to put emphasis on how far they've drifted, but he's gone ahead and done so anyway with his brief moment of hesitation. With guilt comes a need for distraction, her sighs of enjoyment and willingness to go along with the topic allowing him a moment to take a bite of the frozen chocolate.

"That's good... I was worrying you wouldn't be comfortable or it was a little too bare. I have tons of books for you to borrow if you're ever bored." The gaze Suzume gives the Glaceon is one that is met with a sly grin and a puff of her chest, a reaction that tells Ryuuzaki to brace himself for whatever he's about to find out. "You found more? Skadi, I thought I told you to stop leaving them in her room!"

Ah, but the princess is far too enthralled by Suzume's acceptance of her gifts, gently clawing at the sand as she attempts to find yet another one for the collection.

"Reliable is an overstatement, Suzu. You'd be lucky if I remember to stock the fridge at least once every few months." He shudders, reminding himself to do exactly that on the way back home. "And you haven't had to deal with the fosters just yet... You never know what pokemon I'm bringing home from work until you get home yourself."

His words are saved for the hopes of preserving his mental, a tiny tick of stress pulsing through his veins as he briefly considers the true utility of the Illusion in this scenario. For now, staying hidden probably is the best course of action, especially if he doesn't wish to jeopardise his current civilian life.

'Two of us doing intel gathering... Just like the good ol' days, huh?' Parting off from Alexandra Briarwood with a quick nod, Ryuuzaki acknowledges how each step away from the League plunges them into darkness, his mind only focusing on following the tracks. True to his suspicions, the odd scribbles and colours soon bleed out into an entire canvas, the alternate route in the cave opening up into a strange room filled with tales long forgotten.

Water surrounds the edges of the room, emitting a strange glow that serves well in lighting the cavern. There are many broad strokes and colours that cover the unnaturally smooth walls but some parts of the painting have been lost to time and marred by cracks that have formed through natural causes and sheer neglect - To the top, flying pokemon encircle the skies. On the right, stickmen hold spears as they march away from decrepit homes towards some greater being over barren grounds and withered crops. To the left, clouded skies are lit with streaks of lightning as a faded sea churns below, dozens of dead aquatic pokemon floating on its surfaces.

Wandering closer to the centre of the mural, Ryuuzaki follow his gut instincts and reaches out, his hands gently scraping away a layer of moss as he takes a closer look at the depictions.

'Suzu, you're gonna want to see this.'

Right in the centre of it all, fire spirals around two majestic beasts, their teeth bared and danger lurking in their gaze as they glare each other down from their respective domains - Kyogre, ruler of the seas and Groudon, ruler of the lands. On the pectoral fins of Kyogre and the arms of Groudon, he can spy the symbols that seem to glow under the light of the strange waters.

'Primal Groudon and Kyogre fight... causing great calamity across the region.'

What the hell is this place that they've wandered into?

'Can you take photographs of all this? I'm going to try and see if there's anything more.'

There's nothing but unease that exists in his voice, the shifting of his gaze indicative of his need to know more as he spares Suzume Amemiya a quick glance. Up ahead, he can spy a strange shrine and instincts tell him that Alexandra Briarwood has to be somewhere close. Given how they had parted ways and the room seems to contain several entrances, he expects there to be an entrance that leads back to the League and he isn't wrong considering how he can hear their footsteps echoing down a tunnel.

What he doesn't expect is the presence of a Poipole in this cavern, much less Killian going completely off script for it.

'Take whatever pictures you can, Suzu. I'm going back to provide Killian support.' His thoughts come quick, a soft sigh exhaled through gritted teeth as he readies himself. Remaining out of sight is your best offensive - He recalls that lesson very clearly, the shadows always having been his friend and witness to the madness he drags.

Calling upon his Froakie and Lapras, Ryuuzaki slips them a quick nod, gesturing towards the League ahead as they pick up the loose ends. Froppy drops a Smokescreen almost instantly, cutting off their line of vision as he slips his way behind a waterfall, right out of view. Then with a signal, Lily freezes its flow with an Ice Beam, shattering the sheet of ice with a Hydro Pump and scattering the crystalline shards towards the League.

'Hurry up and get the Poipole while you can. I'll distract them for now.'

He just hopes that Killian Decker knows what he's doing.
