After finally taking a break, Luka's back in the water and back at it again with Mantine. She's starting to hope she'll be able to take the sweet thing home with her...they're getting so close![break][break]

Since she's spent so long out of the water, however, the pair starts out again with the simple Primarina Twist.

If Luka could hear Andres' thoughts he'd be getting a lot more than the cold shoulder.[break][break]

Did bloating during your period affect your breasts as well? He deserves the chair for that one!!! Unforgivable! Inexcusable! Andres Buenaventura needs to be put down![break][break]

But all she hears is a bit of unsolicited advice. Normally she'd think it sweet, would thank him with a smile and a happy blush. Now, she's just annoyed. "I'll keep that in mind," is all she says before the pair walks out on stage. The same tail he'd advised her about bounces with every sashay of her hips.[break][break]

But as soon as spotlights are on them her entire demeanor changes. Lips that had been pressed in a firm line widen into a dazzling smile. She waves at the crowd, all bouncy and bubbly as their first auction item is showcased.[break][break]

It's some kind of rare gemstone- honestly, the details go right over her head. The auctioneer prattles on and Luka just keeps smiling even as her cheeks ache, as the fake fur tickles her thighs. She can feel eyes on her from the crowd, and from Andres to the other side of her. When their gazes meet her smile stays put, though her eyes narrow slightly.[break][break]

She doesn't like being mad at him. Though at this point, she's not even sure if she can really call it anger. It's disappointment and loneliness and smattering of shame. If she had held back, would they still be friends? Maybe she was so bad in bed that he never wanted to see her again! Frankly, it's the not knowing that makes it worse. And ghosting is so high school...[break][break]

Luka's so lost in her own thoughts that she doesn't realize the bidding is over until the gavel bangs. She snaps back with a jolt, nearly tripping over herself as she lurches forwards to help move the item backstage. Heels slip on the stage and she grabs at Andres for balance, pressed against his chest while a chuckle reverberates around the crowd.[break][break]

It's embarrassing, but that's fine. This time, Andres isn't getting away so easily.[break][break]

"Monsieur," she whispers, grabbing his arm as soon as they're offstage. Her nails are painted crimson and they dig into his bicep, though not hard enough to hurt. "We need to talk."

"A date? N-no, gosh..."[break][break]
Paxton's first instinct is a good one, but it doesn't pay off. Luka blushes and splutters out her denial but she doesn't flee that quickly. For he'd sunk himself by being truthful, and Luka connects the dots with a slow widening of verdant eyes.[break][break]

"Eh, really? Wait...are you helping with the Castform too? That's great!"[break][break]

Eager hands reach forwards and clasp at both of his. She squeezes them in delight, bouncing up and down on her heels.[break][break]

"Oh gosh, I was so nervous! I was like, oh nooooo, what if me and my partner don't get along? I'm so glad it's you!" she gushes with an obliviously blithe smile. "The two of us will be unstoppable together, I just know it. Come on, come on! Let's go!"

Luka barely looks at the Pokeball as she tosses it into her bag. It rattles around and clicks against the rest.[break][break]

The last time she had gotten anything good she had wished real hard for it, right? Okay then! Time to try again![break][break]

"Please please please," she begs as she sticks her hand underwater, "A crown, a cool stone...anything! Just not a pokeball!"

Well...that's it! They've done it! Every single trick. Luka leans back on Mantine's back and idly pats the smooth skin beneath her.[break][break]

"It's been fun!" she says with a smile. "But we've been playing for a while, haven't we? Maybe I should—"[break][break]

A protesting gurgle has the water bubbling beneath them, and Luka can't help a quiet giggle. "Fine...but an easy one this time, okay?" Fins splash happily as the pair launches into the air again, this time returning to the classic Primarina Twist.

Her noodle arms have been extra noodly lately. Perhaps it's from clinging onto a Mantine's back for so long?[break][break]

Luka purses her lips as she reels back her arm and tests her throw on poor Julia Davis.[break][break]

"Sorry!" she shouts, but the apology falls flat when it's accompanied by as powerful a throw as she can muster.[break][break]

It must have just fallen in, since it's not just a pile of wet mush. This feels luckier than another shard at least, so Luka plops it into her bag (a little more carefully) and starts fishing around for another prize.

And anyways, maybe she shouldn't be trying to get up on that seat anymore? MATIAS SILPH had tried to kill her after all! As Luka fusses, her Vaporeon makes the decision for her and smacks the ball with her tail, sending it flying towards Eris Halla in the tank with abandon.[break][break]

dahlia goode's speech is encouraging, optimistic, and everything she'd like to hear during a bleak time like this. But somehow, it doesn't quite reassure her.[break][break]

Perhaps it's because she knows a little too much. Perhaps it's because she hates that the only plan to save their world is to doom another. Regardless, Luka keeps a perfect PR smile on her face and claps politely. No matter what her feelings might be, it won't do to strike a discordant note.[break][break]

Besides, the splashfest is supposed to be an occasion to celebrate! A burst of light when times are at their bleakest. Though instead, Luka finds herself praying that she won't have to do too much damage control for MATIAS SILPH after Melody Miro's very public callout.[break][break]

She sighs under her breath when the first set ends and starts to wander when the second begins. Restless feet carry her throughout the crowd, a sea of familiar faces and strangers alike. But rather than stop to chat Luka floats between them like a flower petal on a breeze; pretty but transient, like the fleeting sweetness of a pleasant dream.[break][break]

She doesn't want to be alone here. But the person she'd like to celebrate the end of the world with most isn't here. And even if he was, it's not likely that Remiel Calcifet would want to see her anyways.[break][break]

As TERAVOLT begins to play Luka finally comes to a halt and stares up at the stage, trying to drown herself in the beat rather than her own thoughts.
