While the initial static and injuries were taken care of — luckily, it really wasn't much to handle — Summer ensured that Raphael wasn't going to sustain the worst injuries while being in the ultra world. The rest could be tended to someone who was an actual nurse or doctor later.[break][break]

"Let's find some shelter while we wait for the other two."[break][break]

She didn't wait for a reply, instead leading the way away from the sparking wires. The further they got from low hanging, live electricity, the better. The further into the city she went, it seemed no better.[break][break]

Until there was a spot that appeared free of hazards that they could use for the time being as some sort of shelter or base.[break][break]

"Here. At least we won't burn our insides on accident."[break][break]

Summer cleared the area of debris, only looking back when Cade had managed to find his way back to them. She let out a sigh of relief, until she heard the Paldean man speak.[break][break]

Summer let silence fall over the both of them, if only for a moment. While her own shampoo and conditioner was strong enough to overpower any other smell, Cade's scent was equally as alluring.[break][break]

He was so quiet. She wondered just what was going on in his mind.[break][break]

It was the silence of deep thought. It was something she was familiar with, having been alone in that silence for far too long herself. For a moment, she allowed them both to sit, huddled tightly together in comfort and warmth.[break][break]

Before Summer could speak again, she and Jayden were slipping through the crevices of time and space once more. The next scene she saw was that of a boat.[break][break]

She was familiar with this one. She'd come across this with BARNABY FINCH before. However, they'd attempted to appease the thunder god that threatened the seas before them.[break][break]

So would it try to kill them instead of letting them go if she attacked it?[break][break]

The mojito was finished, but her glass was soon replaced and filled with a different drink. Summer sent a side glance to the blonde woman who decided to join her, taking the beverage nonetheless.[break][break]

And, fuck, it burned all the way down. She could stomach tequila, but she was used to the expensive, high grade ones she picked herself to suit her taste buds. This one was far from it.[break][break]

Yet, it evoked some sort of memory, deep down. It was the same sort of memory she felt when she had talked to Gunner about Galar. Could this woman have something to do with that place?[break][break]

Summer burst into a fit of laughter. "No, I typically enjoy my time at the beachside, unless I'm going on a boat ride. And I think I would remember a night with you. I'd hate to forget it," she shot back with a smirk.[break][break]

She took her hand, shaking it firmly. "A pleasure to meet you, or see you again, Skyler. I've heard of your renown. I'd love to see your ship sometime."

Mossdeep was a familiar area to Summer Atreides. There was a fascinating combination of space science and marine science that, while she didn't know on a broad level, she had come to appreciate. She'd been present for several rocket launches and attended many WAILMER sightings in the area.[break][break]

While she was waiting for further updates of the plan from Gunner Graves, the CEO of Lionheart Trade and Co. decided that the best way for her to stay out of trouble was to continue doing what she did best.[break][break]

In the case of today, Summer had gone through the city's shops, buying all sorts of clothing, jewelry, gadgets and sending them back to her abode in Mauville City.[break][break]

With the sun setting along the horizon, she decided to end her night in one of the local bars. Her poison of choice was a mojito, something summery and beachy to match the ocean nearby. Though, the drink never quite reached her lips.[break][break]

Blonde hair caught Summer's attention, the person it belonged to dragging her gaze away from the drink. The woman seemed very familiar to her... and yet, she couldn't put a name to the face. Her brows furrowed.

Summer snapped her book shut, standing and tucking it under her arm to return to the shelves. But as she made her way past him, she spoke in a low voice.[break][break]

Summer merely shrugged, allowing Jayden to go about his business as he pleased. It was less work for her to do. So, she took a seat in a chair nearby, crossing her legs as she answered an email or two on her phone.[break][break]

"It's not an issue, darling. By me a drink next time," she teased.[break][break]

Though the shift in conversation caused her to heave a sigh. Slouching further into the seat, Summer crossed her arms over her chest as she regarded Jayden with an almost annoyed look.[break][break]

"Specific supplies, yes. The manufacturing of our enhancements has slowed down because trade in some of our ingredients has been hard to come by. It's making it harder to sell, too. Higher prices, driving away our customers who don't have the penny for it."

Summer couldn't help the quirk of her lips. It seemed that she finally won his favor. Cold, hard cash was the black market's best friend, and she was no stranger to it.[break][break]

So, without further pause, she began to pull out stacks of cash. They began to pile on the counter, bundled neatly together without a wrinkle on any bill.[break][break]
