"I agree with Barnaby. What's the point in inciting more tension and warfare when there's a bigger problem at hand?" Summer piped up, her hands resting on her hips.

She'd entered hearing some of the words that THEO BECKETT had spoken. And while part of her had the same beliefs as he did, she didn't think that now was the time to take over and be Rockets. Not until the meteor was handled.

"There's always been a desire to stand back against the League and their beliefs, but is now the time to do it when we're in danger of the meteor as well? We wouldn't be martyrs if we're all killed by the impact like they are."

Summer tilted her head to the side, raising her brows as she thought.

"And if their plan does succeed, we could just as easily take them on near the end, when they believe peace has reached them at least, Mr. Beckett. Don't you think?"

Just a thought, though what was she compared to the underbosses? It wasn't like THEO BECKETT was going to listen to her one way or another. She didn't care, either way.

Her gaze traveled between Barnaby and little Eris Halla as they spoke about Dynergy, the possibilities of using it to their advantage and sending away the meteor. Or, oscar clayton, mentioning wormholes in Ultra Space.

"Miss Lulu Flint? I'd be more than interested in hearing any of your thoughts or observations from these areas," Summer spoke, looking over to the scientist.

80,000 PD was not a big issue for Summer. Sure, it was pricy. But, in her mind, it was worth the price. It was to save her business and protect who she cared about as well as herself. So, she nodded.

She could assume that a man like Zev would prefer to get money in a way that couldn't be tracked. And, Summer being Summer, pulling large sums of money from her bank wasn't uncommon. Not to mention, she could explain it all to Martín del Mar and get a by in the system if she needed to.

It was perfect, really.

Summer smiled, clapping her hands in front of her in a pleased manner.

"Splendid. It's done. How do you go about your methods? I need to ensure clean up methods are in order, whether I need to cover them or you will."

Hm. So Cian was one of those squeamish about the topic of murdering? Summer was almost surprised. Yet, she let no feeling come over her face as she waved him off.

"Cian, I'm kidding. It's a joke in the industry. People saying you took out your higher up to reach the top. Why would I want to kill my own father?"

She raised her brows, prompting an answer from him as she sipped her drink.

"Though, I can say I'm not too sorry for him being gone... now that he's not tormenting my brother and I, there's a bit of a calm feeling at home. Despite the hectic life."

She shrugged, sighing.

"Don't know if you can relate, though."

"I did it more often when I wasn't in charge of Prescott Industries. I had more free time back then. But now, I feel like I've been swamped with business, meetings, and all this other crap. So I try to go when I can," she said.

"Besides... I think it helps add to the appearance."

Summer closed her eyes, relaxing as the chair dug into a knot in her back. What a great feeling.

"Really? Nothing else? I am paying after all. You can get a full set if you wanted."

Not that she was trying to pressure her out of it. But it just seemed... almost basic, to Summer's standpoint. Then again, she was known for getting over the top items.

Summer definitely felt surrounded. She felt her heart jump into her chest, beating wildly, as the place began to reek, to drip, to mold. She could gag, leaning against Remiel's back as he turned around. She reached down, grabbing onto his wrist as she covered her mouth with her other hand.

"Remy. I don't-"

But they were cut off. She turned her head, her eyes wide, as she spotted the person. Almost looking as though they matched the room, dangerous and rotting. Summer felt another wave of nausea, scared to even look forward. Because what if she saw someone like her father? Or her brother?

"Help me..."

"Remy, remember what you said."

But he started to walk. Oh, Arceus, he was walking away. What did she do? Summer tightened the grip on his wrist, trying to pull him back.

"Remy! Remy, snap out of it! It's fake! Remy!"

She darted forward, pushed her hands on his chest to push him back.

Elisabeth Fiorelli... Summer knew Elisa. She wouldn't necessarily say that she knew her very well, but the two knew each other well enough to be considered friends, she'd imagine. However...

"Is she here?"

While she liked the woman, she didn't want to show her the tears streaming down her face. How she had been panting and screaming, a disheveled and horrible mess. She was never a mess, and no one was allowed to see her like this.

Except, for some apparent reason, BARNABY FINCH.

The rumble of his voice through his chest, against her face and her body, was soothing as he cradled her, sitting down on the bench in the garden. Summer could feel the sun now, a warmth on them as she closed her eyes and rested soundly in his arms.

Content, for the moment. She no longer could feel sticky blood or iron in the air. Her father's words were gone from her ears, replaced by chirping birds and the buzz of insects flying from plant to plant.

Dare she admit what happened to her father to Barnaby?

"Barnaby..."

Summer paused before opening her eyes and looking at him.

"If I tell you something... would you promise not to judge me? Or see me as a different person?"

If killing these grunts were going to be a bother for Knox, Summer would have to handle them when he was gone. That or ask if samuel carter would be willing to come quickly and help with clean up.

Either way, it had to be done. And she knew that her brother was not the person to ask.

Summer's gaze followed his finger, pointing to the open window. She nodded, giving a small look that was the equivalent of praise before leading the way. She examined the window before going inside.

There, she found their secondary goal, and the most important aside from eliminating the target.

"The kids. Make sure we get them out as quickly as possible."

Summer quickly and quietly explained what they were doing, that they would be safe as long as they listened to what they told them to do. She looked back to Knox.

"Do you have a good way to get them out of here quickly? A GARDEVOIR like Sam?"

It seemed that the gym leader was adequately distracted by her ZOROARK. Whoever he was impersonating, it was definitely working. Alexei's guard was up, and Summer believed she had time to slip back unnoticed.

To get her tasks done while he was distracted.

Before they both slipped away like ghosts.

"Attack you? Arecus, why would I do that?" the blue-haired man asked, reaching forward to touch his hands gently.

There was a bright smile that appeared on his face, kind and warm. Like there hadn't been a missed minute, a missed heartbeat since they had seen each other.

"You're acting really strange, you know? Did you hit your head? Earth to Lexi!"

He laughed, like a musical noise.

"You know, we have to get back. The kids are waiting on us."

Summer knew what was going to come out of Knox's mouth the second he was covered in water, soaked in front of the both of them. And her eyes dared him not to say it, dared him to just for once, help her out and not be himself.

But of fucking course, he couldn't control himself and couldn't keep his dick in his pants.

She had enough. As Jayden agreed, her hands slammed down on the table as she stood up, palms flat as they hit with a loud resounding smack. It was loud enough for every head to turn in the room toward them, to see exactly what was going on.

"Knox is a big boy who knows how to change himself. He does not need the both of us to go with him, Jayden. So I suggest we stay put while he goes and changes, now," Summer spat, glaring venomous daggers at her brother.

Summer laughed, shrugging.

"Well, I have a lot of my funds still saved away, and my father's funds are still stored as well. Which is why I need your help. He recently passed. And now, those funds need to be transferred."

She barely took a breath as she continued to talk.

"However, I don't want them to come to my personal account. I wish to expand Prescott Industries beyond just Mauville. And I wanted to use those funds as a means to get there," she elaborated, her hand moving around as she spoke.

"Yet, I'm new to this side of things, Mars. I always handled the other side of my father's business. Been a face, talked and entertained his guests. I never did the banking, investment, the money side of it. Which is why I knew I could come to you for help."

Summer Prescott could feel the tension in the room. It could be cut with a knife, should the tangibility be possible.

Were they all concerned about the meteor that much? Of course. Because what the fuck was the great and powerful League going to do about it?

She came in a bit late, given a few business meetings and other tasks she needed to complete. But she overheard a few of the concerns that were being spoken about. Lulu Flint's experiments, how they were unable to divert the meteor. Sea Hoenn and Killian Decker's point about Hoenn being in a war already.

She, herself, couldn't help but agree with the both of them.

However, she didn't speak as she found a couple of individiuals to stand beside. Her dear friend, BARNABY FINCH, sporting his lovely raven hair, and her recently hired assassin, Zev Harcourt.

Summer offered a small smile and friendly kiss on the cheek to Barnaby in greeting as she came to stand beside him, nodding her acknowledgement to Zev. She looked up, spotting Elisabeth Fiorelli standing proudly with the other admins.

"Atta girl," she murmured with a smirk.

"These people were nothing more than rich individuals in Rocket. Sure, a few investors may be lost, but business is business. They were not high in the ranks of Rocket or affiliated with Rocket at all."

She tilted her head to the side, a small smile on her face.

"What they are in the world are parasites and leeches. They are of no importance, and though I may be losing a few financial partners by eliminating them, they will be easily replaced. They're disgusting and deserve a place in hell to rot."

Summer leaned back in her chair, her leg crossed over the other as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"So, do we have a deal? Shall we begin planning?"

The shocked look on his face was a pleasant sight. Summer couldn't hide a smirk and a chuckle as he seemingly gawked, turning her head back to the sea.

Their drinks were brought back to them, set on beautifully decorated coasters beside them.

She took hers, sipping through the straw carefully as if not to get a brain freeze.

"You know, when it was time for my dear daddy to stop tormenting me and my brother. I took him out. I was always groomed to take over. And it was that point that it was time."
