in truth, the life of an officer keeps him pretty busy, and he'll undoubtedly be even busier once the switch to detective becomes official.

a lie, really, as they've already kept dr. nisa holo waiting an hour or two even before they stepped into the room. interrogation tactics, as uriah has learned from both the academy and from the multitude of pop culture he consumes.

uri tugs at his tie, loosening it slightly as he undoes the button of his shirt.

"not too hot in here, is it?"

it's definitely hot and uncomfortable. again, another tactic.

"we'd like to go over some of the events that happened during the star soiree. could you please run us through what happened from your point of view?"

he slaps the back of delibird's head lightly before walking over to the bag. he reaches down for it, wrapping his hand around it.

a confident grin.

it lifts a bit further than her attempt before crashing back down.

with a nod, uri approaches, offering a helping hand over to the grumpy delibird. it huffs defiantly, almost too proud to accept help. but as it tugs on the sack once more, it realizes it needs all the help it can get.

"we gotchu, bud. just don't bite us."

he looks over his shoulder, smirking.

"wanna see if you can lift this, sis?"

her bashfulness doesn't catch him off guard this time. perhaps the brief time spent away from each other has given him the confidence he once has. he dips his head in a nod, smiling as he meets her gaze.

"i'd love to spend more time with you after this. we can share another later."

reaching for the blue mug, he takes a hefty sip, not stopping until he's down to about half the mug. just in time for her to feed him. that, however, catches him off guard.

but he recovers quickly.

"you're cute."

he takes the extended roast beef, smiling as he chews.

"i'm gonna keep bragging about it but i really like playing beer pong. i like drinking in general, going out to bars and stuff."

unsurprisingly, most of the food stalls at the winter festival sell...winter-themed food, one of which focuses on christmas foods in particular. uri's had the majoriy of them before, so he picks his favorites, then makes his way over to the table after.

he smiles up at her when she approaches, gesturing to the plates of food on the table.

"i got us roast beef, roasted potatoes, fruitcake, and peppermint bark."

enough food for the both of them, for sure.

"i wasn't quite sure what you'd like..."

he chuckles.
