Nothing he said would appease Luci. No matter how he pleaded, or what sound explanation he had it wouldn't work. And right now, they were beyond that point anyway. He shrank under the artist, as he usually did., allowing the Fisk to overtake him. He bumped into the wall, barely noticing the force of it all as a hanging decoration shifted slightly away from the pair. Luciano pulls away for a few seconds and Paxton's breaths are quick, trying to catch up before his lover destroys his shirt.

Mother of pearl buttons clink on tile and roll into plush luxurious carpet. He's flushed from exertion, from the attention. A shiver runs down his spine as Luciano pressed closer. Paxton has a moment of clarity as Luci talks down to him again and he wonders if it's fucked up when he starts to enjoy it. He realized there's a fury there, yes. But some synapse in his brain makes the connection when Luci tells it to his face. He's jealous.

Which is insane to even consider. Because while yes, he had told Luci he meant everything to him and Luci has responded the same in turn. Yes Luci had just called him precious. But the notion doesn't stick in his brain. So low is Paxton's mental position of himself in Luciano's life that the idea doesn't seem real. Insecurity every time Paxton had to do something, be somewhere.

He never wanted to hurt Luci. He never wanted to do anything but love him, really. But the anger of it all, made him feel so wanted even if it was just to prove a point.

Luci doesn't give him time to answer, his tongue working so much slower than the neurons in his brain telling him to fix this, to soothe him. But the sculptor is on a fucking war path. And when he feels his lips trailing down his chest the memory of something beautiful comes back to mind as he lets out a shaky breath in response, voice pitching higher and his shoulders tensed upwards, feeling sparks across his skin. The cups are set, and the door is locked. Though, it was so late in the day he doubted anybody would come looking for them. Paxton had cleared off his desk, making space for the silly, magnemite coasters he set out. The electric kettle was steaming and his cup already had a little bag of tea steeping on top of a blob of still melting honey at the bottom.

Paxton sits at his desk, opening a drawer to pull out a tin of butter cookies. It was opened and half picked through, but he only really had it for guests anyway. Or times like these. "Are you're aware, PENELOPE LIVY's out right now as they hold their AQUA V meeting." he began, knowing the woman would be quick to settle in and add to the little array on the desk. "Right, it won't go quietly." he said, agreeing with Elise. The priority here was keeping the people in the area safe, specimen collecting second. Coniebear doesn't mind either way. She rushes in after Charles, a powerful IRON HEAD cracking the frozen cake and smashing the rest , disintegrating it. 

Paxton holds still as the Mawile pants hard. Glowing entrails spread around but as he approaches her, its strange. It's not the cake he thought it'd be. The glowing pieces, begin to lose their sparkle. And the light begins to dull and the parts begin to disappear. It's defeated but also disappearing. Somehow that's worse than the viscera from before. He stays still, calling back his Mawile and watching her. "Conie...you ok?" he asked and she sits, catching her breath until the mega evolution wears off. Her mouth is relaxed and her face scrunched up as she waited for her job well done pats.

"It's gone, there's no threat left." he said, gesturing at the way his partner relaxed. "I- this is the only golden pokemon you've gotten reports on right? So far?" There'd be no specimen hunting because there wasn't' a specimen left to hunt. There's a pause before he turns to Elsie and the Calyrex. "Are they alright?"

Paxton had half a mind to sit silently and take, but that would probably make Luciano even angrier. He needed to explain it better, articulate it further. But then the sound of a glass shattering breaks his concentration and he's like a deerling in headlights as the artist stomps over and towers over him. The Fisk forces him to look up into chilling blues, grip tight as he had no intention of letting Paxton writhe out of this one. He knows it the minute Luci uses his alias, his new name, instead of the old one he so much adored.

What happens next is unpredictable. Sure, Paxton and Luci had said they liked each other but not much more. He understood the nature of their relationship through yearning looks and murmured praise. Paxton indulged the artist in whatever he was willing to give. And whatever he asked of Paxton- of Concord- he would happily give. He had never wanted someone more than luciano fisk . Even after believing he'd never see him again- that all they'd had was a heated kiss after a drunken party.

And here he was, fucking it all up. Luci's words light a fire in his heart and then crush him under the mountains of guilt he held. How could he be so careless with him? A man that could easily break him into a thousand pieces? He's not even sure he could recover from that. Not Luci.

His head thrums with the man's words.

When would he stop getting in his own way? His eyebrows knit together as Luci gets closer and he opens his mouth to apologize- console him. Anything to soothe the hurt and betrayal he had felt. Because it really hadn't ever meant a goddamn thing to him- that kiss. And he tried to tell him as much. That is was his temper flaring. That it was him calling a bluff. That he only had eyes for him. But when he opens his mouth, when he dares utter "Luci..." to explain and comfort, the man silences him.

Heat shoots through his spine. He raises a hand to grip Luci's arm, not wanting to fall as his knees began to shake. His eyes flutter closed, unable and unwilling to focus on anything other than Luci's lips on his. He kisses him back, hot, desperate. The words 'I'm sorry.' pressed into every kiss, every touch, and every breath he had.
