Winter’s in the air as Toshiaki goes about his day. His schedule has always been sporadic much like himself, going any direction within seconds. Today he had no set plans. And instead of walking he jogs throughout the busy streets. Never missing a beat. His Furret runs on ahead of him, prowling the streets with infectious energy enough to rival his trainer. The pokemon stops, propping itself up on its hindlegs to sniff at a half-eaten sandwich left on a bistro table. [break][break]
Toshiaki catches up and lifts the overly-curious pokemon into his arms. “Gotcha! Sorry about that. She really likes table food.” [break][break]
He was ready to move on with his day, but he stays near the stranger’s side- examining their features more closely while Furret wiggles in his arms. He blinks.[break][break]

Winter Wonderland [FIT]

Toshiaki has vague childhood memories of being out on the ice. How his mother used to peer over him like a mother duckling, watching him — only to remove him off the ice out of pure fear. He’s never set foot on an ice patch again after that. But after hearing Lilith suggest something for them to do together, well, how could he refuse?[break][break]
He ended up buying a nice new sporty pair of ice skates just for their outing. Bright red, like Santa Claus — they practically say ‘ho, ho, ho!’ Perfect for the holiday season. In a stroke of luck he finishes tying up his skates before her, and swoops in to save the day. [break][break]
“Here. Lemme help, Lils!” [break][break]
Smiling, Toshiaki bends down and makes quick work with the laces. Ties them in neat bows. “There! How’d I do?”[break][break]

He’s a bad trainer.[break][break]
Toshiaki has done everything he could think of in this crisis situation. His Pikachu wasn’t into training as much as he’s used to these past couple of days. The poor rodent’s lethargic too. And now, in the middle of nowhere he’s gone completely limp, sparks of electricity gushing out of his little red cheeks. Is he sick?[break][break]
There’s urgency in his steps as Toshiaki runs frantically down the route, searching for any signs of life or maybe even a nearby town off the path. Verdanturf should be close if he remembers correctly. It hurts to carry Pikachu like this, but he didn’t feel comfortable putting him in his Pokeball while he’s actively thrashing about, disoriented and scared.[break][break]
He sees a person (a ranger even) and feels a bit of relief as he comes running up to them, clearly at his wit’s end. “H-Hey! Is the Pokemon Center close by? There’s something wrong with him!”[break][break]

Macarons were a Kalos speciality, right? Despite being to a bunch of stuffy rich people parties in his childhood his mind’s coming up blank. Oh well. It’ll turn out fine, right? His hand causally glides over to get Wooloo brisk pets whenever it runs on by, lending a helping hand. [break][break]
And.. has he seen Liltih’s hair up like that before? It’s cute.[break][break]
“Let's give the Macarons a try! And yeah! Leave it to me.”[break][break]
Say what you want about him. He’s not a quitter. Once given the instructions, he’s already working on separating the yolks from the egg white. Seems like his muscle memory hasn’t failed him yet.[break][break]

Could you still consider this a grand adventure? Probably. But it wasn’t very much fun given how many times his life has been into jeopardy thus far, including his comrades. At least he’s in one piece, same for his beloved Pokemon, but who knows when that luck will run out?[break][break]
If they try this again, he can only hope their efforts are more fruitful, less stressful. [break][break]

It’s not everyday you get to put on fancy hats and get paid for it! Toshiaki is stoked, even if it’s just watching his beloved Pokemon have a good time over himself. Whimscott jitters happily in place, entertained by the large selection of headwear available to him to try. Helmets, fedoras, baseball caps. The possibilities are endless![break][break]

The day is full of flash photography and flashy poses to show off the product at hand. And at the end of the day on top of all the praise from employees and trainer alike, Toshiaki treats his friend to ice cream to finish their eventful day.

This place is no joke. Toshiaki knew that since their last expedition, but it’s incredibly frustrating to be in the same predicament twice now. Were they making any progress? Well, there’s more important things to worry about in the heat of the moment. Like everyone’s safety. That takes priority over progress. [break][break]
Once the worst has passed (and everyone else before him has made their escape,) Toshiaki calls his trusty Cinderace back to his side and makes a break for it himself. He can feel the deathly pressure from the Ultra Beast afar, and has a grave feeling that this won’t be the last time they’ll encounter it.[break][break]
He only hopes they’ll be more successful if they’re crazy enough to want to this again. [break][break]
