"Oh." Finally—finally, it all clicks into place.[break][break]

From how much she missed him, to how much contact he'd made with her, to how they were snuggling on the couch and when one thing led to another...[break][break]

She does have a choice. She can remove her hands from him and tell him that it was a funny joke. Laugh it off like they do everything.[break][break]

But she doesn't want to. Because every idea he gives her makes her want to try it. One hand remains on his face, to hold gently there; because he is precious to her and while he may not do feelings Francie Myrtle certainly does.[break][break]

From his collar down to his pants, yes she allows him full control of her hands, she stares at him in excited curiosity. There is no naive and confused deerling before him now. Now she is all too aware of what he offers and her desire for it hidden within her mind over the time she had been gone begins to blossom.[break][break]

The thumb on his jaw moves to his lips, tests the texture of them. The hand along his navel gives a small tremble, but it is one of excitement. A wave of anticipation and want drives her body to goosebumps. She steadies her hand on his buttons, beginning at the bottom and working her way up.[break][break]

All the while her eye contact never stops, she feels ... playful.[break][break]

"Maybe all this time, I've been waiting for you to kiss me, Barnaby Finch." The way she says his full name, the slow and teasing tone she reveals, it is all in light of what she feels this might be. Just another game they play.[break][break]

"Oh, but looks like I found those buttons. What're you gonna do with your hands, Barney?"[break][break]

Now she is free falling into the unknown with him. It's something she rarely does but all too desperately wants. A new bad habit that he's going to help her create; she'd have nobody else do so, though.[break][break]

And this is why he is precious. Because he challenges her to do things that are new and shows her the other sides of life. Even if she doesn't realize it yet with her hand halfway finished unbuttoning his shirt and her tongue moving along her lips quickly to apply moisture to them, should he decide to kiss her as she's invited.

Firstly, her signature, ”Eh?”[break][break]

Secondly, she turns her attention toward the one who spoke. He looks to be worse for wear and it causes Francie to frown immediately. Concern washes her features and she bounces toward him in eager anticipation to help him.[break][break]

”Oh my goodness! I mean, thanks so much, but I’m not hero! I’ll help as best as I can though.”[break][break]

In her mind, heroes are people in video games, or kyle lopez. Not her. She’s just existing in the right place at the right time.[break][break]

”My name’s Francie,” she offers him her name as an introduction before offering him some water as well; bottled, one of the many from her pack. ”And I’ve been exploring the desert as well. I was specifically looking for some ruins, hoping they haven’t been discovered yet.”[break][break]

She’d have to ask FERNANDO SILPH if these specific ruins had been excavated or not… but maybe she’d ask somebody else, since he seemed anti-legendary but pro-legendaries for himself about the whole topic.

There were few things Francie enjoyed more than helping her pokémon overcome fears! For today, she has her leafeon Fiona with her, glaring at her from the safety of the dry rocks around the hot spring.[break][break]

Lavaridge was best known for their hot springs and, as such, she's decided to host a sort of 'help you pokémon overcome their fears!' kind of seminar at the hot springs. Though really, it's a more closed kinda event with very few showing up.[break][break]

She doesn't mind, intimate learning experiences are best in her opinion.[break][break]

"Fi," Francie says her pokémon's nickname to her nickname with a soft sigh. "Babe, you gotta at least try to get into the water."[break][break]

Fiona yawns at Francie, like she can't be bothered.[break][break]

"The water's not even that hot! And it's nice and sunny in hereeeeee~"[break][break]

Two slow blinks indicate that Fiona doesn't give two shakes of a ratatta's tail about how sunny it is, she's not getting in that boiling water to become some kind of tea. Nope.

A pair of goggles are peeled off of her face. She is inspecting the formation before her. She'd adventured into the desert and gone straight for some ruins that had apparently come up. They could very likely be nothing, but they could very likely be everything as well.[break][break]

Truth be told, since her talk with FERNANDO SILPH, she's been contemplating what it even means to look for the legendary pokémon.[break][break]

Does it make her desperate? Is she just clawing at anything and everything that might offer her stability? Does she even need one?[break][break]

Maybe she should just focus on building herself into a weapon of mass destruction more than worrying about getting the blessing of a legendary to help her protect the ones she loves...[break][break]

Raising a finger to the ruin markings, she traces along them, frowning. How she wishes she could just make it all make sense. Make the hallucinations of SILAS BLACKWELL make sense. Make the longing she can't get rid of for FERNANDO SILPH to make sense. The sinking feeling of dread surrounding BARNABY FINCH, her sudden attachment to Remiel Calcifet.[break][break]

"Alright Francie!" She tells herself, hands slapping her cheeks before she squishes her face, brows furrowed; determined. "Get it together woman! You're strong, independent, and that's perfectly fine! Stop gettin' all confused!!"[break][break]

Nothing like a self-pep-talk to startle anybody who might be near.

her gasp echos out into the small makeshift med-tent. she doesn’t realize it, but she’s been unconscious for a few hours now. somehow, during the whole of the teleportation and chaos, she’d fallen unconscious.[break][break]

panic causes her to rush out. she made sure she had all her rock babies with her before heading out and when she does, she’s thrown for a loop. it’s a dark dense place she’s never been before. it smells of moisture and greenery.[break][break]

there’s a threat here, one she is determined to help with. she braces herself, but helps. barricades and defenses is where she focuses her efforts.[break][break]

large rock formations are created. she’s sure to use some of her ground type moves to make sure that they’re solid walls, created without a means for anything to leak out. she firstly builds them to protect the more important areas, like recovery centers and civilian protection areas.[break][break]

it’s the best she can do with the time she’s given. every one of her pokémon pitch in to help, creating the best that they can for those of this new place.[break][break]

her mind still wanders all the while. she’s in a new place, a new time, and that means … well, will she ever get back? what about BARNABY FINCH? she never really got to talk to him about what happened in the ultra deep sea either.[break][break]

it haunts her. the regrets of not having said.[break][break]

and what about Remiel Calcifet? is he alright as well? she hopes so.[break][break]

luckily she knows Greyson Connors and FERNANDO SILPH, they’re a comfort to her in this time. not that there’s much time for chit-chat or comfort in their situation. building up for a war that will come.[break][break]

but she helps. builds walls of solid stone melded with the help of other pokémon within their makeshift band of heroes.

for whatever reason, that makes francie want to frown. because it feels wrong to frown, she just keeps her smile at him. her eyes lose a bit of warmth as she tries to figure out why the heck her brain's being stupid.[break][break]

"oh, uh, no, sorry. i don't wanna keep you anymore than you can manage. i know you've got a busy schedule."[break][break]

so her rambling betrays her, obviously. she glances to the give she's given him, hoping he likes it even if he doesn't use them all the time, and then gives lincoln a pat on his head before making her way out.[break][break]

obediently, he follows. she turns just before the door and beams at fernando, deciding she's happy she came to talk to him as she feels a little more confident in herself and the idea of a sygna suit.[break][break]

"sorry to just butt in! i'll send an email or something next time, promise."

the title 'ranger' makes her jump and, in turn, she drops the shield. it falls just shy of her foot and shows freya right then and there that she's made up of dumb luck and rays of sunshine.[break][break]

francie turns and has the urge to salute, but doesn't. instead, she just beams at her and bounces over in excitement. her blonde ponytail sways as she nearly skips over to the woman. she stops right in front of her and blinks a few curious times at the bow.[break][break]

"whoa. you brought your own weapon. that's super cool..."[break][break]

shaking herself from her awe, and mild envy at how cool freya looks, francie straightens up and nods.[break][break]

"right! why i asked you to come. that's because ... well, i'm tired of people being able to get the better of me cause i'm both small," muscular but short; a whole five foot even. "and a woman. so i'd like to learn to take care of myself in situations where pokémon might not be able to."[break][break]

because she's painfully aware there are people out there who wear robot suits (Amor Rose) and craycray things like that.

she knows well what a loan owed to FERNANDO SILPH means. it means that you owe him a favor and he'll cash it in like he used to order her around before. she'll do so gladly, without having to owe him, even.[break][break]

it would be a rare case if he asked her to do something she wouldn't. he was always so aware of her limits and always tasked her in the ways she was best; she appreciated that about him, amongst other things.[break][break]

"i knew it was complex just from the different things i've read and witnessed. most of the science goes," she motions over her head. "way over my pay grade," that's not the saying francie...[break][break]

"but! that's why i came to the smartest—" and most technologically and financially advanced individual— "i know! thanks ferny."[break][break]

cue the sunshine smile that could melt the coldest of hearts; or so she'd brag, but it seems it can't melt his. perhaps his is made of metal, though.

when the guy just kinda ignores them and flaunts off, francie notices that glow but doesn't say much. she tags along with FERNANDO SILPH, trying to find Remiel Calcifet as they get closer to whatever's glowing.[break][break]

so many things glowing she's beginning to think she needs to invest in some kinda glowing rock of some kind. those exist, apparently, and she kinda wants one; envy's a bitch.[break][break]

her hisiuan arcanine's fur rustles. she tries to calm it with pets but he's on edge; it must be the pokémon before them and that has her biting her bottom lip, trying to listen, but so much is happening and she feels a little lost.[break][break]

she must stand on her own, stand her ground. but one question lingers and she doesn't even realize she's asking it to the legendary himself because the question's mostly mumbled under her breath;[break][break]

"where's Remiel Calcifet?"

francie's ears flush when the mare tells her she can take a ride. even better that she doesn't need a saddle, because she's too excited to remember it's a thing as she gets on the mare's back as gently as possible with her level of excitement.[break][break]

as she sits, she can feel the energy on her and it has her eyes widening in surprise. she's not used to psychic types, they confuse her and make her feel as if all of her well built stone walls mean nothing. yet with this mare, it is a reassuring feeling. she's holding her up not trying to invade her mind or tear her down.[break][break]

in return, francie smiles and opens herself to the feeling; allows the connection and settles comfortably.[break][break]

"i mean, i trust you. i'm confident right now. plus, you're right. feels like she's got it under control. so i'm confident in her anyway."[break][break]

the girl's confidence level for herself doesn't exist on any level, greyson may soon learn.

Francie's not sure she's ever heard her name come from Barnaby like that. It makes her stomach churn softly, her brows furrow. Like butterfree and beautiflies are fluttering around in her guts without rest. Flips and twirls moving through her like a golem on a roll-out spree.[break][break]

He takes her wrists and moves them to his face. Delicate and pale fingers caress his jaw. Something inside her chest beats so wildly that her cheeks are flushed.[break][break]

Suddenly, the hunger both in his eyes and in his tone is reflected in her own thoughts and desires. That thick and dense head of hers is finally realizing something that she'd been promptly ignoring for quite some time.[break][break]

Feelings. Deep emotions she'd shoved aside telling herself he didn't feel in return. She's naive. To her, physical actions reflect her emotions. Even things as silly as curling up on the couch was her way of showing a raw trust she didn't even show to FERNANDO SILPH.[break][break]

Walls of protective stone fall at the mercy of his request and the weight of his gaze. Nerves tickle into her spine and to avoid trembling her fingers, she places them firmly against him.[break][break]

The smile across her lips soften as her fingers move to play with the hairs on the back of his neck. Those on his jaw turn in enough to allow her short-kept nails to tickle along his skin.[break][break]

So smooth, she thinks. Such a contrast to her callused hands.[break][break]

"How?" Would he have her use her hands on him, she means. Her own request is soft, the softest she's likely ever spoken to him besides the raw moments where she's called him in desperation of avoiding being alone while she was locked away from home; sick and longing to return but prohibited by the barrier.
