"I could have cooked us that octillery! That's a good catch though." Noah exclaimed and Hailee frown and flashed him a look. Something about having her hands on the little guy and then eating him put her in a weird spot. Then again, she figured that was just difference between the two. Noah was raised in a kitchen and Hailee would probably burn it down. Besides, she liked eating food than preparing it anyway. It worked out perfectly that Noah was the chef out of the two. [break][break]

"If we both start sucking at it I'm sure a Ranger Captain could give us a few pointers, right Tam!?" Hailee froze as she slowly turned to look at Tam. Why'd Noah say that to him like....like Tam would know? Surely he couldn't be a Ranger Captain all along and she didn't know. Hailee began to break out in a cold sweat. If she was honest she'd skipped the past few ranger meetings but she had a good reason! Finals were breathing down her neck and now that she had a break she hadn't thought to catch up on what she missed. [break][break]

Suddenly she felt herself grow rigid. She hoped she hadn't done anything embarrassingly while around this guy. "Just cast your line and wait.” Tam replied and Hailee nodded before watching him reel in a big ass Gorebyss that matched her own big ass Huntail. "Eh see it's not so hard." Hailee said as she turned to Noah with a big grin on her face.

Hailee had totally spaced out since landing an octillery. What was that little guy doing here? Then she started thinking about suction cups and then her mind went to other...darker places...where she stayed, daydreaming, not even noticing her boyfriend had arrived and was asking for help. Yup. That's what happened. Hailee was stuck thinking about tentacle hentai monsters and that took up all her brain capacity. She totally didn't forget to attempt to reel in another fish. Yup. [break][break]

"Thank you for the help, Cap!" It was Noah's voice that snapped her back to reality. Cap? She frowned looking at who Noah was referring to. Was that this guys name? Surely not. Maybe a nickname perhaps. She still remembered she hadn't gotten a proper answer from him about how he knew her name. Had she met this guy before? [break][break]

Ah well. She'll figure it out later she was sure. [break][break]

Noah came over and planted a quick peck on her cheek which promptly caused her cheeks to flush. "How's the fishes been treating you, hun?" a sheepish smile formed on her lips, "Ah right...that's what we're supposed to be doing." Hailee chuckled. Fishing totally hadn't slipped her mind for a moment there. [break][break]

Hailee cleared her throat and adjusted her line once more so she could have another attempt. "I caught a little Octillery but I let they guy go. I kinda felt bad." Yup, that's totally the reason she let the little fella go. Not because she got nervous she got caught thinking about naughty stuff. "What about you guys? How are things going on your end?" Hailee asked both of the blonde boys on either side of her.

Your words mean the world to me." Noah said, clearly still just as flushed as she was. She offered him a warm smile as her hand dropped to her chest. This was the first time in a while she felt this way. If she was honest, after Ceri she'd been afraid to love again. Little did she know that the heart wants what it wants. She'd fallen for Noah and hadn't even realized it.

She knew she would always be a bit anxious for what the future held for the both of them, but at least right now she felt safe in his arms. She'd hold him to the promise he made her. She'd trust him. She didn't want to...close her heart off to everyone. It was a very lonely life doing so.

Besides, Noah deserved to have the best of her. She might have her flaws but he still loved her despite all that. After all, he'd seen her at her worst and he was still here for her. She wanted to really give this her all. They both deserved to be happy. "I... Sooooo..." Noah began bringing Hailee back to the present moment. He cleared his throat before shyly glancing at her once more.

"I didn't really bring anything to give you to prove the promise other than myself... So hahaaa Can we kiss again to seal the deal?" Hailee blinked again for a moment as his words registered before she laughed. Yeah, she believed they would be alright. She wouldn't allow her fears to dictate her life anymore.

Leaning forward, her grin still evident on her lips, she whispered to him. "Here's a tip~" Hailee purred, "You don't need to ask to kiss me, just do it." she said as her eyes twinkled playfully before her hand reached up to caress his cheek before pressing her head against his. She hovered close for a moment, their lips brushing but not linking up just yet, teasing him a little longer. Some old habits die hard. "When it comes to me, you can do whatever you want~" she said with a low chuckle before gently taking his lips once more.

Now Hailee wasn't much of a fishing person but she figured she'd tag along. Especially since her boyfriend asked so nicely. Raijin was perched on his favorite spot, Hailee's shoulders, as she made her way to the docks. Noah had been kind enough to let her know that they were spending the day with someone else but he didn't say who. It would seem she was a little earlier than Noah since the only person she saw there was some blonde guy, but not her blonde guy. [break][break]

As she got closer she recognized him since she'd seen him in the dunk tank line a few times. "Oh hey!" Hailee said with a smile and wave as she got close and set up her own chair. Her's had a cute little umbrella attached overhead to keep the sun out of her face. "I see you already got started." she said as she plopped down in her seat. [break][break]

"I'll be honest I don't know a thing about fishing." She admitted as she glanced around before grabbing her phone and tapping a quick, 'Where r u?' text to Noah while Raijin got comfortable in her lap. "I hope I can get something good." Hailee muttered under her breath as she attempting this whole fishing business.

Here it was, the final round. Hailee had come a long way but she'd been having fun the entire time. The last round worked out for her pretty well. She was still in the leaderboards and she couldn't be more proud of her performances so far. She made sure to give a proper pep talk to her team and promise them plenty of rewards after this. After all, they've been working really hard.[break][break]

This time the location had changed and served as even more inspiration for Hailee. Shed been wet plenty these past few rounds but she wanted to add in a little bit of a 'wow' factor this time since they were on the beach. She had the sandy shores and the glistening ocean to use as props this time. [break][break]

"Ooooh what about making a fairytale become reality?" She asked her little crew of pokémon around her. "Fiora, ready to give them our best fantasy yet?" Hailee asked her florges with a grin. She started off with Fiora so it only seemed right that she would end this contest with her too. "Let's give it our best." she said as she held out her hand for a fist bump. Fiora smiled and lightly tapped her fist back as they got ready for the finals.[break][break]

This time Fiora was the first to emerge to the crowd. There she sat on her perch which was a rock near the sandy beach. There she struck a pose in an outfit that resembled such of a mermaid while humming a little melody. In her small hands were a pair flowers that she was playing with. Meanwhile a small wave approached the rock Hailee soon emerged as well, reenacting one of her favorite scenes from 'The Little Mermaid'.[break][break]

Hailee had her blonde hair pulled into twin pigtails on the sides of her head. A pink floral tie holding them both together. The top of her bikini were pink seashells and the bottom was a form fitting dress that resembled a mermaids fin. It was long enough to hide her legs and feet as she pulled herself up on the rock as well and posed. Fiora took one of the flowers she'd been playing with and placed one in Hailee's hair before both she and Hailee continued to hum their little tune.

After a few days to herself to recollect her thoughts and get herself motivated again Hailee found herself back out here again ready to tackle the waves. "I know we haven't had the best of luck but if we stick to it, surely we'll be able to succeed in the end." She spoke to her little Mantine partner who squeaked happily. All of this hadn't phased him. He was just happy to have found a partner he enjoyed spending time with. This whole experience had been rather fun for him. "I'm glad you're my partner big guy." Hailee said as she patted his side. And that was true. Her competitiveness sometimes got the better of her but she was still here to have a good time after all. That was the true end goal. And she didn't want to lose sight of that again.

Noah took her hand and placed it against his chest near where his heart was. "Hailee..." his voice was extremely gentle and she was reminded of how this was a safe space for her. She didn't need to get worked up or let her emotions get the better of her. "I.." Noah began before pausing again. "I would never let you be alone... I would never leave you behind... I honestly don't even see a future without you, I could never leave someone who I look forward seeing everyday. Someone I want to spend time with."

Hailee's eyes widened as she stared back at him while he spoke. She felt her face begin to heat with each passing phrase he uttered. It was nice to know he felt the same way as her. But this was something else. She felt her chest begin to tighten as she looked back at him. Her heart was thumping so wildly she was scared it would leap out of her chest.

When his hand cupped her cheek she felt her breath catch in her throat. "You missed a spot." he said softly as he gently brushed his thumb across her cheek to wipe away the tears. "You won't lose me, I promise." Something about this moment, this intensity, this intimacy. It was something she hadn't seen coming or expected. But she wasn't mad at it. They were bearing their hearts to one another and for the first time it felt like she was finally seeing what had been in front of her all along.

"I want to be yours, Hailee..." Hailee's face was scorching now and she just knew her blush was reaching all the way to her ears. Noah took a deep breath before continuing. "I want to be with you..." This was so much for her to taken in at once. So he liked her? Since when? Hailee's mind was racing and if she could actually think she would've been able to see all the signs she missed till now. "I..." Hailee breathed but her breath caught when Noah's free hand moved to her cup her face.

At this point Hailee thought she was moments away from dying of a heart attack the way her heart was ramming against her chest. He gently pulled her forward as he pressed his his head against hers. His emerald orbs fixated on her lips intensely and Hailee actively felt her brain shut down. Since when was Noah like this? When did her Noah become so smooth? Hailee's eyes trailed to his lips before Noah closed the gap between them and took her lips with his.

Hailee's eyes widened as she was frozen for a second as her brain tried to play catchup before she felt herself melt into his embrace. This was not a drill it was real. Hailee's eyes fluttered closed as she finally regained her composure reaching for Noah's collar and deepening the kiss and pressing herself closer against him. Noah lips were soft and now that Hailee had a taste she knew she'd soon find herself addicted.

The world around them melted away and it was just the two of them frozen in this space alone. Hailee hadn't expected this but she was glad she was here, present in this moment. Who knew when she would've come to realize her feelings. Hailee had liked Noah for a while now. Of course, he was still her best friend, but beyond that. From the enjoyment she felt in teasing him to how she got the best sleep of her life around him because she was so comfortable with him.

"Noah..." Hailee finally released her hold on him to allow them to breathe. "I.." she paused as she tried to catch her breath. Was it fear causing her to still hesitate? She didn't want that to keep her from being happy, but she also was afraid the next time someone abandoned her she wouldn't be able to make it. She was at the end of her rope. But...she wanted to trust him, trust the promise he made to her. After all he hadn't given her any reason to doubt him before. Hailee gently reached up to touch his face. "I...wanna be with you too."

Oh me!? Well I think we did the things in the same order actually... Well except the swimsuit contest of course. I don't think I would look as good as you in a bikini." Hailee lightly punched him in his shoulder. Noah was always uplifting her but always failed to see himself the way Hailee saw him. "Don't put yourself down Noah. You look great and could do well in the contest too. Bikini or no." she said with a slight chuckle.

"I gave my best at the Mantine Surf but wasn't exactly able to make anything out of it." She nodded understanding. That's really all you could do. Just try your best and have fun. As long as he did that then the end results don't matter so much. "After that I went diving to cool down a bit, found some nice little trinkets so that was really nice and chill."

Hailee nodded as she took another sip of her drink. "Yeah, the fact that we're diving for treasure makes a really good motivator. Plus it's so pretty down there! I really had a good time with that activity." she agreed. She watched him as he turned his gaze up towards the sky before following where he was looking.

"But now I'm here with someone important in my life and honestly that's all I could ask for." Hailee's gaze widened before it softened and she smiled. Noah was important to her too. When had he become such an important person in her life? She wasn't sure. But somewhere down the line Noah had become such a staple in her day to day life that she could no longer think of living this life without him.

Hell, rain or shine, happy or sad, she usually thought of Noah first to share these experiences with. "You know a day like this really makes me think... It might be a little grim but with how our life has been going lately I fear losing you Hailee. I really do." Noah's words brought Hailee back to reality and caused the small smile on her face to fade.

She really hadn't allowed herself room enough to really dwell on this. Ever since she woke up from a mini coma in the hospital after her mission on Mt. Pyre she hadn't been the same. She was bruised and broken, not just physically but emotionally and mentally too. The life she had been living felt like it had been flipped upside down.

They were living in unprecedented times. Nothing she knew was the same and she couldn't make heads or tails of it. Anxiety seeped into her day to day life and the things she once loved she couldn't really focus on. After all, how do you focus when the world around you is falling into chaos. When the threat of it all ending is looming over your shoulder. What do you do?

Hailee pulled her knees close to her chest and hugged herself. "After the incident, after dealing with crazy cultists... I don't think I would even be here if I didn't have you in my life, it's really hard to explain." Hailee nodded slowly. She understood what he meant. After what she went through, if she didn't have Noah to lean on she might've succumbed to the anxiety and pressure of this whole thing. Who knows what she would've done in that dark headspace?

Noah had been her safe haven for a while. Whenever life felt like too much to handle she could always trust to lean on him for support. Even if he didn't have the answers, the fact that someone was there that cared for her enough to give her a hug, take care of her, tell her it's alright, and hold her hand, was enough for her.

"You're really special, you know that!?" Noah asked her as a small chuckle escaped her lips. She smiled and found herself leaning against him now. Releasing the iron grip she had on herself and reaching to hold his hand in hers she spoke, "Not just me." she said softly. "You're one of a kind too." she said with a little giggle.

"You've saved my ass so many times I can't even begin to count. And...I don't know." she said as she stared down at the sand around them. "I guess I just started realizing how much you really do for me and it made me emotional you know?" she said as she squeezed his hand. Her voice cracked ever so slightly. "I...I don't know what I would do without you Noah. Really." she said as she turned to look at him. "And...I'm terrified that something will happen and I'll be alone again." her lips quivered this time. "Everyone I've ever loved has always left me behind."

At this point Noah knew very well about her backstory. "Mom, Dad, Ceri..." This had been why she didn't want to think about it. Pandora's box would open up and suddenly the flood gates were open. She wiped at her eyes with her free hand. "I can't lose you too...." she said in the smallest voice she's ever spoke in. And that was true. Abandonment and rejection were two of the things she feared the most. Those issues that she has, have of course, presented additional problems for Hailee as she's tried to navigate her life dealing with these issues.

That's why she's so committed to enjoying herself at this Splashfest. To forget all of her worries and have the time of her life because she might never get the chance to do so again. As grim as it was to think of. That's probably why she could be honest with Noah here. That and the fact that he was honest with her first.

Hmmmm.... I think we're mostly keeping other pokémon away from them?" Hailee rolled her eyes. She knew that much already. Noah's expression shifted to one with a playful smirk on his face before he wrapped an arm around her. "Oh you scared of the baddies now? Have no fear Noah is here!" Hailee cocked an eyebrow at him before laughing out loud with a haughty "HA!" Quickly slipping her hand around his neck she pulled him down so that his face was close to hears while a mischievous grin formed on her own lips.

She locked him in place while her breath tickled his ear. "I laugh in the face of danger~" She practically purred in his ear. "You on the other hand, if you ever get scared make sure to lean on me." she whispered as she drew him closer, their lips inches from each other. "After all, you know who scored higher on the practical application test don't you." Hailee's shit eating grin was infectious as she finally released her grip on the back of Noah's neck, returning to her reclining position before they were interrupted by the call from the head scientist from earlier.

"We're ready for you two to begin. We've set up markers for the route. It's not far from here. Just be careful of the Huntail." he said while tapping on a digital tablet. "Your clients have arrived." he said as he pointed towards the school of corsola that drifted near them seemingly knowing that the two of them were their escorts.

"Roger that Chief." Hailee answered before turning still smirking towards Noah. "Let's get to work then."

Okay so maybe yesterday wasn't her luckiest day. Finding a pokeball wasn't exactly the most impressive thing she's come across, but she has been lucky. So she really couldn't complain. So it didn't work out, what else was new? But that wouldn't stop her from going at this again. Hailee was extremely competitive and stubborn, that she could not lie. Would they land the trick today? Who knows but they had taken a day break and were ready to go back at it. No words were wasted today as they dived into the water ready to get started on today's attempt. Hailee made sure her hair was tied back, meaning she was ready to get to work. Even her Mantine partner looked ready to take the day on.

Seeing Noah Camus step up and attempt to dunk her raised her spirts a bit and made her chuckle. He was really cute. She felt her frustration melt away as she remembered the original reason of doing this in the first place. It wasn't all about having crowns. It was about having fun. So she got to sit on the seat for a little while longer before taking the dunk and getting right back in line again. She stepped up to take her turn attempting to dunk her favorite person ever, Noah. "I hope you don't mind if I get you a little wet." she said with a wink.
