It didn’t take long for the Gym Leader to join them. Johanna snickered as Alexei seemed surprised by her.

“Yep, that's me.” She nodded in agreement. “I figured it was about time that I gave you a visit!” She answered the question she knew was coming.

“And this guy here needed the exercise as well.”

The Dragapult had already flown into the arena. Raring to go, it flew about idly waiting for whatever opponent would show up. It prayed his trainer wasn’t going to have a long conversation before they would begin.

Johanna knew Shalin had this under control. She HAD to have this under control, nobody would do this sort of thing if they didn’t know for sure that they would walk away alive, right? RIGHT?

Johanna knew the answer to that question, and yet however much she tried to worry and pray for Shalin’s safety, some small curious part WANTED to see this no matter the result. And so her eyes were glued to the scene as the ramping up began, the pulsing energy, the vigorous shaking.

The Build-up was unbearable and for a moment it seemed to JOhanna that even Shalin was clinging on for dear life.

Surprise befell Johanna as Elise admitted to this being her first visit. Not that it was a bad thing, rather it was merely an opportunity presented to her that she had not foreseen.

“Well, if it's your first time here -” She paused momentarily pretending to think about her options though she had already made up her mind. “- and assuming you don’t mind of course, then let me show you two around!” Johanna offered.

And as she waited for the inevitable proclamations of not wanting to impose themselves, she tried to gauge which place would be best to take them. Would it be the thrilling rides of the Thrill world, the fantastical immersive experience of Wonderland or the enchanting tranquility of the Tranquil Forest.

The battle came to an end. The last VITAL POINT stolen by a glanced Earth Power. Anticlimactic was the right word to describe it.

“Agreed. But rules are rules, I suppose.” Johanna spoke. Though perhaps it was hollow words coming from the victor of the battle.

Claydol quickly joined her side. Johanna gave it some gentle pats to reward it for its good work.

“Why change what works?” Johanna teased Megan.

By then the Claydol had spent its Dynamax energy and shrunk back into its original size. Smaller though it may be, it was still ready to continue the fight. And it wasn’t about to let Lucario set up.

A faint earthy beige shone around the Claydol as it sent a wave of EARTH POWER at the Lucario hopefully knocking it out.

Speed was the name of Lucario’s game. Unfortunately Lucario was not the first opponent to try that. And so Claydol was able to calculate the trajectory.

And it wasn’t about to just let it end there. But it felt the waning of the Dynamax energy within it. It could not hold the form much longer, and so it rushed into firing what was its last MAX MINDSTORM toward the Lucario.

Johanna sent a curious smile at Megan, but left it as is. They had a battle to fight, questions would come later.

Claydol started off strong, sending a powerful blast attack at Megan’s Pokemon. But the psychic force was met with what seemed like an equal force at first as Megan’s Pokemon Mega evolved. But it soon became clear that it initially was stronger.

Claydol was hit by the Aura Sphere, but didn’t let that stop it as another wave of powerful MAX MINDSTORM flew in the Lucario’s direction.

“Another challenge?” Johanna repeated curiously. Alas before an answer could be given the start bell rang.

Johanna threw the pokeball into air and from it spawned not your average sized Claydol but a colossal titan of a Dynamaxed Claydol.

The giant did not wait around as it immediately went to fire a MAX MINDSTORM at its opposing pokemon.

Raikiri charged at the Claydol, for all of its feigning, Claydol knew where it was heading. Claydol had hoped the Ice beam would have dealt with the feline’s speed somewhat, but alas it did not. And so he was formed to take drastic measures.

And so, in an attempt to end the fight right there and then he summoned all his ground-type might to let the Z-move energies tear the arena apart with its TECTONIC RAGE (Within reason of course, no property damage that would get her disqualified)

Johanna vs Navy (VCT)

Where Johanna had been expecting hard criticism not only for her monologue but for her naivety she was instead met with sincerity and encouragement to keep fighting. She beamed a smile at Navy. Her resolve had been further strengthened even if she had, for a brief moment, been back to the old nervous insecure Johanna.

“I WILL do that.” Johanna confirmed.

Meanwhile the battle was coming to an end. One final tera blast was fired, and though it managed to hit it didn’t do a whole lot of damage. And as Claydol readied A HYPER BEAM for retaliation it realized. The opponent could no longer fight. And so though Claydol was the victor it allowed the Iron Valiant to lose with its dignity still intact.

For all of Claydol’s eyes it mattered little how much he could follow the yellow feline if his movements were too slow to follow along. And with the Agility-fueled charge that very much was the case.

Luckily he needn’t be faster, he just needed to be somewhere else.The searing heat came real close and then with a swoosh he was gone, TELEPORTED to the furthest end of the Arena. From where he would take aim and fire an cold blue ICE BEAM as quickly as it possible could.

Johanna snickered in agreement. Sure, Megan was the woman with the plan, Johanna didn’t mind giving her that.

And it seemed the plan worked well enough as a path was made. Johanna quickly retrieved all the Pokemon she had summoned by then as they ran off under the cover of the smoke. Still very much protecting the baby-Nihilego she had taken with her.

“Yeah, let’s just leave for now. We can return another time if you want.” As she spoke her thoughts went to the baby in her hands. She knew she had just stolen a mothers' child. But, she wanted it. Was it really so bad? After all, they captured wild Pokemon all the time. So why was she feeling guilty about this one.
