The metal beam crashes thuds against the broken hull of a ship, before rolling off the edge of the platform and into the water. It's not an ideal scenario, but far better than seeing a child get crushed under it's weight.

[break][break] Ollie sprints forward, sighing with relief, when he sees that Captain got to the girl in time. The child collected warmly in the pokemon's feathers, even as they unravel from each other.

[break][break] Dropping to his knees, the Head Ranger assesses the young girl for injuries.

[break][break] But he's more relieved and concerned then he is frustrated.

He doesn't know how illeana reyes creates or puts up with it, but he trusts her, and that's all that matters. He secures it carefully to the back of Roy Aker's Feraligatr.

When he had first brought up the idea to include civilians in their emergency response efforts to prepare for the upcoming war, freya morningstar had disagreed. She put up a hard fight, declaring that putting civilians in danger wasn't worth the effort, but Ollie had promised that he would make sure that the Rangers and more importantly that he would make sure to be selective on which volunteers made it through the cut.

[break][break] After all, the last thing he wanted was someone to get hurt.

[break][break] But he'd never thought that children would try to sneak their way in either.

[break][break] "HEY! Watch out!"

[break][break] A shout from ollie morales echoes through the corridors of Sea Mauville as the steel beam above Chrysanthe Kubrick groans loudly, its weakened exterior threatening to collapse onto the small child. But no way is Ollie going to let that happen.

When the FLARE goes off, of course it's ollie morales who reacts first. The Head Ranger's partner pokemon, his iconic DRAGONITE so similar to dahlia goode's, can be seen as it streaks across the blue summer skies.

[break][break] Ollie glances quick at his LEAGUE COMMS, a RangerNav that's strapped to his wrist with a live GPS tracker thanks to the new tech provided Yujin Ha. With's it help, he easily follows the map to the location of the signal-flare.

[break][break] He veers Pistachio down, diving down swiftly, only to stop just shy of the blond woman and her school of Duckletts.

[break][break] "Hey!" he says, wingbeats thudding in the otherwise quiet air. "Are you guys alright?"

[break][break] Ollie laughed. He couldn't even be mad about it — GIDEON GRAVES was right. He hated being indoors. It was an amazing feat that he'd ever finished his college degree, but perhaps the countless trips that he'd taken with his Hoenn Habitat of Humanity club had made the difference. Or perhaps it was the Kantonian Biology lecture series that his sister had encouraged him to sign up for. "Behavioral Ecology of Kanto Pokémon"? Something like that.

[break][break] "Mm."

[break][break] At the professor's rejection, Ollie huffed playfully, his expression looking like that of a Boltund pouting.

[break][break] "Fiiine," he said. "You caught me. I was just looking for ways to see if I could get your shirt off."

[break][break] Ollie grinned — as if he didn't say something completely scandalous - and stepped back. Just in time, too, because it seemed that Hops had found something in need of assistance. A group of young Horsea circled around the water, as a Starmie with a cracked jewel rose to the surface.

[break][break] Water sloshed beneath his feet as Ollie dropped to his knees at the shore and began to assess the injury. The wild Pokémon appeared on edge, perhaps even dangerously wary, but the Head Ranger’s expert touch quickly ease its nervousness.

[break][break] "Hey bud," he soothed. "It'll be alright."

19. Attempt to negotiate with poachers or wild pokemon.

Without moving from his position, Ollie glanced behind him.

[break][break] "Hey, Gids! We got anything left in the supply pack that might help?"

[break][break] Starmie jewels were notoriously delicate, after all. They might have to do an emergency dressing before getting the pokemon properly over to one of the first-aid tents if they didn't have anything on hand.

Luckily enough, thanks to the help of Roy Aker and illeana reyes's fantastic teamwork, it seemed that Head Ranger ollie morales lives to see another day.

[break][break] The rampaging Goldeen is caught within the gnashing jaws of the new Ranger's Feraligatr, as the rest of the hoard scatter fearfully at the sight of the Alchemist's powerful spatial blasts.

[break][break] Ollie glances back at both Illie and Roy with relief. "Thanks guys! Whew, that was some quick thinking."

[break][break] Rather than leaving the injured pokemon to suffer, Ollie swims closer. Crimson trails through the water in delicate wisps, and the Goldeen's blood-stained scales glimmer in the ocean's depths. When the Goldeen hisses at him, bristling aggressively, Ollie quickly maneuvers his way around and instead reaches into his supply pack, pulling out a POTION swiftly and sprays it's wounded scales.

05. Provide first aid or medical support to injured individuals.

The sudden act of kindness has a surprising result. Instead of lashing out, the wild Goldeen circles Ollie gratefully, then begins to follow him as he swims back to join the others.

[break][break] He glances anxiously between both Illie, Roy and the civilians that have gathered before them.

[break][break] The STARRY SHIELD had protected Yuina Higashi from ameena abadi's blaze, but Hoenn's Champion was nowhere near as lucky. However, as it turned out, she didn't need luck.

[break][break] Memories rush forward, suddenly, of them on the boat in Sootopolis Bay when they had first met, chasing away Groudon cultists. [break][break] Kicking his feet in the air, the Head Ranger grapples for his Wyrdeer's golden horns for stability. He wrestles into his LEAGUE COMMS and shouts into it as loud as he can: "It's Ollie. Everyone focus your attacks on NECROZOMA! Help Melody Miro!"

[break][break] Thanks to the help of their friends, Melody's SUPER-POWERED screams rang vibrantly against the NECROZOMA'S black crystals, stunning him momentarily. But it doesn't last long enough. Emerald green eyes widen at the sight of Melody Miro being dragged forcibly into the black hole. And instead of holding onto his Wyrdeer for stability, he lets go.

[break][break] Releasing his Dragonite instead, Ollie relies on the pull of gravity to DIVE towards Melody Miro and pulls her tightly to his chest. He looks into her eyes, sighing with relief. "I'm just glad I was able to get to you in time."

[break][break] Just in time too, because the normal gravity turns to them shortly, as Zev Harcourt's black sky warps back into normalcy. For a very, very brief moment, relief spreads through his chest.

[break][break] Only to be replaced by horror as he realizes KYOGRE has undergone PRIMAL REVERSION, bolts of lightning scarring the sky as the rest of the world plunges into a FEARFUL DELUGE.

[break][break] His eyes widen, once more, noticing the glowing light of Zev Harcourt's arm-cannon. Directed right for —

[break][break] "EVERYONE!" he shouts, frantic. Even with the power of Melody Miro's COMMANDS, there isn't enough time. "GET AWAY!"

[break][break] Fueled by his trainer's urgency, Dragonite terrastalizes, blazing with amber light as he desperately tries to divert Zev Harcourt's attention before his deadly attack can fire. In a split second, Pistachio calls down a storm of meteors from the sky, relentlessly bombarding the avatar as he's launched into the air toward Kyogre.

[break][break] Glancing over at the tide, it seemed that the effect of both containing the Dragalage and subduing them with keiko mori's FAIRY-WIND was slowly wearing them out. Only a bit longer and they would be ready for capture.
