It's another long night riddled with work, sleepless nights, and 48 hour energy drinks. And, worse of all, Rory was used to it. It'd become nearly ingrained into her weekly regime. Something even her calendar now accounted for.

And so, when the clock struck 12am, she already knew where to head off to: the kitchen.
[break][break]

Hair bundled up into a low, messy bun, the scientist's lips split into a yawn as she shuffled through the rocket's emptied corridors, turning the corner sharp enough to not notice the shadow already hanging around the countertop. It wasn't until her torso was already leaning forward, nearly smushed into the ground, that a leg came into view. A long, lanky, familiar leg.

Her reaction was immediate.

A sharp, shrillish shriek ripped out from her lips. It was so terribly powerful that it sent her body toppling backward, until her ass slammed into the tile floor.

With all these pungent smells silencing the streets of Mauvile, not only had her weeks become a series of stay-at-home nights with the roommates, but even her morning jogs had been interrupted. And that could not continue.

So, with a bundle of cleaning supplies hanging off her shoulder, the young rocket moved to the streets, preparing for what would be a long cleaning process.

Her only partner was mawile tonight, but she was certain, together, it would be enough. At least to clean up the side of the street her route was on, anyway.

"You take that side, I'll take this side. If you see any poison types, maybe try to convince them to leave?"

It wasn't the best plan in the world but it was something.

Finally, after what felt like forever, she was here, standing in front of a wooden door, a bowl of baked ziti sitting in her hands. The place was exactly what she imagined of her sister: positioned in a nice part of the city, with little litter compiling on the streets. It was a stark contrast to the pigsty Mauville had become as of late.

Gathering up her courage, the young scientist brought her fist up to the door, giving it a soft rap. Just loud enough to be heard, not loud enough to annoy. In many ways, it mirrored the way she felt beside her sister: a whisper just loud enough to be noticed.

She wondered if aaron faust was already there - probably not. That one wasn't very punctual, even at the worst of times. He'd probably show up an hour late, without any food, ready to beg for scraps to take home to that weird roommate of his.

The woes of ultra dimensional travel weren't so easily shrugged off the shoulder. They were insistent - a ghost to which she found no escape from. Still, before Rory could move to agree, her eyes caught wind of a familiar figure rolling in from behind. Ground crumbled beneath its every step, and to her horror, its trajectory looked to be inline with their own.

"Do you think he followed us from back over there?"

The question was asked out loud, but mainly directed to herself.

It not only swayed its limbs with direct intention, the ultra beast of electrical cording looked to be tied to the woman herself. And instincts told her to react.

With one hand reaching to her side, she pulled out a poke ball and tossed it his way.

Whether it be the damage the beast had already sustained, or its inclination to follow their group, the capture was a success without much means of resistance. She looked over her shoulder toward the others.

"Yeah, lets get out of here. Please."

With only wolfgang volkov 's orders left fumbling in her head, the engineer nodded and made efforts toward the pointed direction. Left and right, the spacecraft clumsily maneuvered around the arcs of lightning. Flying was hardly one of Rory's hobbies, but thanks to a bit of simulation practice (flight sim 2023), survival in this world of electricity was still possible.

"Sorry," she breathed, as they come to a frustratingly rough stop. Gravel and rock kicked up into the air as the spacecraft's nose dipped downward. It wasn't until several seconds after that their seat beats would loosen.

Clicking herself free of its confinements, awkward shuffling sent her scooting past wolfgang volkov , whose hovering left Rory's face bleeding red during the entirety of her flight. Hopefully, he didn't notice.

"Here we are!"

A pause.

Another pause.

Pressed up next to the entrance of the fortified building were several spirals of fulgurites. They clawed up at the heavens, embittered and solidified in place. .

The others shuffled in, and with them came the rushing waves of urgency that forced Rory into the helm of the spacecraft. White knuckled hands squeezing its steering stick, Rory flicked a few switches before fully powering the machine to life. When it did, she plunged them forward.

"Where to," she barely managed to call out over her shoulder, the pressures of navigation forcing her rigid. Driving was far from her list of expertise, but for the time being, she would be able to make do. .

From there, Rory hung up and set out to do what she promised. Throwing on a pair of pink shorts, black Converses, and an oversized yellow hoodie, the young scientist sprung into action.

The uber was called, taken, and tipped.

Of course, with her arrival, the two hugged, cried a little, and then set off to the nearest late-night ice cream parlor. Aka the 24 hour fast food joint.
