The older one stands beside the RESHIRAM, while the younger stands across from him with a ZEKROM. The two resemble each other. The older shouts, "we must live in pursuit of the truth!"[break][break]

The younger retorts, "what does the truth matter should one's ideals be compromised?"[break][break]

The RESHIRAM and ZEKROM rush toward each other to clash in lightning and flame.

[attr="class","itemcoltext"]The scenario shifts and you find yourself on an island with withered Crystablooms. In its center, a lake. By the lake's shore, a Shadow Persian's body lays still and unmoving. It is not dead. However, its breaths are slow and laboured. No matter what you do, it remains perpetually immobile and not by choice.[break][break]

You are unsure of what to do. Something wills you to the lake waters, while the pitiful sight of a paralyzed Persian attempts to anchor you to the beach.[break][break]

Nomi assisted Zev with releasing the Slowpoke, holding the door open as he tipped them out onto the street. When the task was finished, she walked over to a grimy sink to wash her hands. It wasn't so much that she'd actually dirtied them with anything tangible: she often found herself in labs, where sanitation was a requirement - and therefore, a habit.[break][break]
"Capture them. Win over any Unown in their possession so they cannot escape via teleportation. Interrogate them," she answered simply. "When I'm satisfied with the information gathered, you may kill them."[break][break]
Which is what he wanted, she knew.[break][break]
The simulation rippled, pixels rearranging subtly, just enough to inform Nomi that this scene would end soon.[break][break]
"Kallistatus and I have been working on fine-tuning a Z-move I am hoping to use against the DRK Triad," she added with a hint of pride. "But first, we need to attract their attention."[break][break]
The butchery around them dissolved, re-shaping into a more natural landscape. Nomi immediately recognized the familiar glow of illumina energy, piquing her interest.[break][break]

The warning was more of an impression than a statement. Though Nomi was preoccupied with the feud between Isaac and Parker, Mîr was aware of paxton concordas's and PENELOPE LIVY's assault on the dome, aware of Yuina Higashi's violent trajectory, aware of the Kyurem's continued rampage. And all of a sudden, it was too much.[break][break]
It was time to go.[break][break]
The choice of whether or not to attack Isaac was ripped from her as the dome shattered into a million shards of sparkling light. Freezing cold air filled the space, the blizzard intruding upon them once more in a howling frenzy. In that split-second instant, time seemed to stand still as hail mixed with crystal dust. Nomi could see it all perfectly laid out before her:[break][break]
Isaac, pretending to be antagonistic.[break][break]
Isaac's sibling, standing at the ready.[break][break]
A vaguely familiar young woman, laying prone in the snow where one of the dome's walls used to be.[break][break]
The red hot gaze of ruination, oppressive as it sought to uncover the truth within the crystal.[break][break]
And Parker. Angry and afraid and unrelenting in her stubborn insistence that Nomi's life was worth more than the fate of the whole world.[break][break]
So, without hesitation, Nomi hobbled over to the other woman, grabbed her by the arm, and yanked them away.[break][break]
With Mîr's help, they teleported as far as Nomi could take them (all of them, Parker's Pokemon too) - across the battlefield, away from Isaac without so much as a glancing goodbye. He would understand. He would have to.[break][break]
Resisting the urge to collapse again, Nomi stood shakily before her girlfriend, tears freezing before they made it very far down her cheeks.[break][break]
And no words came. No words at all.[break][break]

Several more automatons...she'd heard rumblings of that, hadn't she? Other "regi" beings, molded from primordial rock and steel. Did they all originate from within Eternatus? Nomi's brow creased in concern as she contemplated the possibilities.[break][break]
Howard's tone was cheerful as he lauded Zev Harcourt, but Nomi caught a hint of distance in his eyes. Just enough to know that Howard was aware of the nature of Zev's Avatar bond - and like Nomi, he understood exactly what it meant. Zev and Necrozma were no mere partnership: they were one now. Whatever scraps of humanity Zev had left would surely erode the longer he and his God were bonded. Rocket had a finite amount of time to take advantage of his loyalty. Hoenn had a finite amount of time to take advantage of his loyalty.[break][break]
"Necrozma chose a man who was already mostly monster," Nomi replied in a no-nonsense tone. There was no judgement, only a scientific acceptance of fact. "Eternatus will likely choose someone equally aligned with its nature."[break][break]
If it even would. That remained to be seen.[break][break]
In response to Howard's questions regarding her power, Nomi smiled.[break][break]
"Curious about my power, are you?" Her eyes twinkled mischievously. "It would be easier to show you."[break][break]
Without warning, she reached out to gently lay her hand upon his arm. When she did, she ripped him out of their current reality and yanked him - and Regice - through space-time into another dimension.[break][break]

"You haven't?" Nomi cocked her head, surprised. Then she chuckled, a sudden understanding coloring her expression. "I know what it's like to get so wrapped up in my work that I fail to actually take part in something I've endeavored to create."[break][break]
The grimy recreation of a Slateport lower district butchery was familiar: she'd seen this stage once before, with Zev Harcourt. Mîr floated over to the row of listless Slowpoke laying on the blood-soaked work table, its ethereal illumina glow clashing almost comically with the grisly scene before it.[break][break]
"Either way, I'm glad you're here, Alba."[break][break]
Nomi considered his proposal, expression thoughtful.[break][break]
"I've cut the tails once before, and sadly, no portals leading to Arceus appeared. It won't be that easy, I'm afraid. I am curious what will happen if we resist his orders." She eyed the seedy butcher. "Let's investigate the shop instead."[break]
