Genny could stay here forever. She really good, and as he leans in and pecks her face after eating (with some very not-so-safe-for-public enjoyment), she feels herself smirk too. She wasn't that bad of a woman to do something like that here, but as she places a hand on his chest to push him onto the blanket, she says it.[break][break]

"My lion, that's a dangerous game you're playing." She knew exactly where this was coming from. Maybe it was the fact she wanted to show some level of power, but as she does this...[break][break]

Her gaze is broken by a Ralts, and though she was climbing atop of Elio, she hops off immediately. "EEEEEEEEEE!" And with a singular, final Pokeball, she lobs it to smack the ralts right in the noggin. She wasn't letting this Ralts get away from her, no chance! She wanted her![break][break]

Then... she stops, and giggles. "Sorry, darling. I've wanted one since I was a little girl!"[break]

When she auditioned for the role of Veronica Sawyer, Genevieve had no idea it would lead to the studio in Lilycove. Even more, when she herself wasn't given the role of Veronica Sawyer, but Genny, the sweet little bean she is, was asked to play the role of Heather McNamara instead.[break][break]

It was one thing to sing Beautiful, when she herself wasn't sure if she could hit the range. It's quite another to be asked to sing Candy Store with the accompanied and prolific Melody, to which left Genny a mess.[break][break]

How was she supposed to know that one of her heroes, one of the most powerful women of Hoenn, would be here, no less to help bring it out of her?! To help with tone, with practice, to learn how to bring it out of her. How to get the singing voice down. She wasn't professionally trained, but years in choir at least helped her hone it a little. But.[break][break]

This was nerve-wracking. So when she sits now, on the bench of the Lilycove Studio, awaiting her new coach for the role, she's quivering and shaking. McNamara was no Chandler, thankfully, and didn't need that much range comparatively, but it's less the singing-[break][break]

And more that Melody was going to get to walk in this very studio to the most mousy version of Genevieve alive.[break][break]

She was trying to breathe, but it was not coming easy, and as she sits alone in the studio, listening to the song over and over in her earbuds, she can't help but shake. She's not even looking at the door.[break]

Trying to calm herself down, the moment Isaac pulls her into that hug, she has to work out her tears, her frustration. It's not that she wants to; quite the contrary, she'd rather remain tough and strong. But being alone as long as she had been, without Elio, left her in this state. She was strong, she knew that, but right now, she felt helpless. Tears keep flowing down her face.[break][break]

When the Pokemon swarm around them too, Serenity nestled in, the Heracross hug, the Appletun nestle, the Fuecoco faceplant. All of it, Serenity would be sure to be int he center. Genny was broken-hearted. It needed time to mend.[break][break]

By time the comforting ended, the Aron had been waiting. She stares at him with those blue eyes, awaiting an answer to a question that Genny had asked. It was an almost immediate attachment, like a puzzle piece that found its way to the puzzle, fitting exactly where it needed to, and yet his hesitation provides more questions. But Genny, after hearing what he said earlier, asks.[break][break]

"You've been grieving too. I'm sorry." She wipes at her eyes. She can tell that Isaac was having issues with the idea, but even still, even if he's looking at everything else, she can't help but know that the Aron is looking at him. "Here." She places the Pokeball on the table. And provided a choice.[break][break]

"She's yours, if you'll have her. But if you don't... feel free to put her away. I'll find some way to bond with her. Didn't mean to stir memories." She's apologetic. At first.[break][break]

The Aron almost looks pleadingly at Isaac, as the little metal quadraped pushes her head on Isaac's leg. She closes her eyes.[break][break]

The Aron is already home.[break]

Elio wasn't the only one who had a rough time with the expedition. Genevieve had been close to inconsolable, and had locked herself in her crummy apartment, watching videos of her with her Darumaka as a child, and ugly crying her way through them. Her plaid shirt marked by tears, and no matter what Pokemon came to help, she found herself unable to stop.[break][break]

She had been like that for days. Mr. Business was a Darmanitan of renown. But life doesn't end when your Pokemon dies. Ice cream fills a void, but it digests.[break][break]

It was when she had read that tomorrow was a very, VERY important day for her boyfriend, that she began to text message people. lam logan , Josh Devlin , annalise henderson , Isaac Merlo , Ikarus Rook , alec foster , sunny clark , all of them were messaged the following:[break][break]

Hey! My boyfriend Elio's birthday is tomorrow. I wanted to do something special, since he's been cooped up for awhile. Can I request your invite to his place? I'll even send the address! You don't have to buy him a gift, I just want him to be happy. If any of you can make it, I'd love to have you![break][break]

With that, she ponders over an outfit, deciding in lieu of her typical attire, she'd dress up for today. A black dress, brown boots, and no-trampy but cute makeup with her white scarf. Once in her outfit of choice, she spends an hour on her hair. She needs to make sure it looks good. Even in the mirror though, her sadness emerges.[break][break]

Tucking away for a little longer, she would race with Serenity on her shoulder out the door, and to the home of her man, where she knocks on the door. In her hand, a little streamer pop, and a whistle. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"[break]

It doesn't feel real. She had been repressing it. She remembers why she came here on her first given day of paid time off; a distraction. The Aron was a distraction. Serenity came because of her own worry. Genevieve wasn't allowing it to get to her. Her heroes, annalise henderson and Melody Miro were strong in the face of it all, right? She would need to be too.[break][break]

Yet when Isaac said it was okay, the moment the wall breaks down, the crying truly begins. The face she made was one of torment. Hazel eyes continued to pool tears far more than they should have. Sobbing in the midst of the little cafe coffee shop. Serenity was at her side immediately, yet all she could do was bawl, and let it all flood out of her. Mr. Business was with her for so long. Since a little Darumaka, hopping around on Christmas Day, bouncing with such life and energy. Genny remembers holding him in bed when she was just ten years old. Like a Teddiursa plushie she had when she was even younger. The warmth. The excitable noises every morning.[break][break]

It all comes out.[break][break]

The Aron sees more than she can even imply, the little iron beast just quietly hopping off the table and in the cushioning next to Isaac. She knows she cannot be there for Genny; even though Genny was her rightful trainer. The Eevee that mewed next to her, she knew how. Aron did not know how to approach a person like her. But this person, this boy speaks from experience. The Aron appreciated that. She found intrigue.[break][break]

It's about five, six minutes. Genny's composure shakily returns. It's nowhere near restored though.[break][break]

She looks towards the Aron, as Serenity is licking at the tears, and she looks at how the Aron stares at Isaac. Sniffling, wiping at her eyes, she smiles. Her makeup really is running now. "Huh. She likes you." Hazel eyes forward now, as she holds Serenity like her emotional support Pokemon, never once letting her leave, she eyes him.[break][break]

"I'm... not sure if I'm equipped to handle her. Could I ask you... maybe-" She shuffles in place.[break]

Maybe it was instinct that Genny would see that Isaac was almost uncomfortable. Her demeanor darkens, as she rolls her shoulder. Sore. Even as Serenity gets the excitement back from some, while others seemed too busy, she almost pulls the Aron back.[break][break]

Until she realizes that it is one-hundred and thirty-two pounds of steel, and was peering at Isaac knowingly.[break][break]

Genny decides not to have to pay for a table scratch mark, instead pushing that feeling back as the Aron moves towards the end of the table. The redhead can't help but notice how its eyeing him like this. Kinship? She can't help but smile, the idea in her mind. She can't trouble him.[break][break]

"Well. Aside from busy work, an expedition with my boyfriend, best friend and best friend's boyfriend led to my boyfriend being bodynapped by a huge jellyfish, and-" she undoes the top button on her cardigan, and shows a rather big bandage around her neck. "-my Darmanitan-"[break][break]

Serenity immediately sees the tears on her face begin to fall and hit the table, the redhead feeling at her eyes with manicured hands. Isaac had become a lot blurrier. Was she crying? She was grieving. Her makeup runs a little, and she pulls a napkin from the dispenser nearby, as she finally allowed herself to feel the magnitude of what happened. How everything just came together into the perfect hellstorm. Everything hurts right now.[break][break]

"Sorry. I had him since he was a Darumaka. It still doesn't feel real." She apologizes. Not knowing that that pain was reflected like a mirror months back.[break][break]

Palette cleanser. "This little one I saved a while back in those icelands. I was with a coworker. I was on a recon mission since I didn't attend Mt. Pyre, a search and rescue for all in need. Most are receptive. She... isn't?" She doesn't pet the Aron, the Aron watches Isaac quietly still, closing her eyes. She... enjoys his presence.[break]

Rook not leaving was not in her plan, but she's too tired to even argue. Her hazel eyes are glazing over. The pain in her neck was so much. So much for perfect skincare most of her life; the moment a sassy little barnacle wants to, it can ruin any moisterizer hope one has. Not like that matters. As she looks onto the hellish jelly being, with Mr. Business presenting a business meeting about how synergetic being beaten in the face with a dozen of Fire Punch fists was, she feels her unconsciousness fading.[break][break]

She was going to die here.

That is, until Egg uses Life Dew. She can feel her consciousness returning. Lammy just saved her life. As she feels on her chest, she smiles. That's right. She wasn't alone. Turning towards Lammy, she feels her lips curl upwards. Her throat still feels awful, and she knows while the bleeding has stopped, talking would be painful for a bit. So shooting Lammy that, she responds with a simple "Thank you." [break][break]

However... the whole cavern begins shaking, rattling furiously, and Genny's eyes looked up, around, every nook and cranny. Panic does not register to her though, she feels more and more intent to save Elio, Lammy, and Rook. They were her responsibility. They would all make it, or she wasn't going to make it at all. That much, she knew in her heart. Her soul wouldn't allow it. Her visions caused them all trouble. Unbeknownst to her though, Rook had done possibly worse.[break][break]

When the Nihilego lets go of Elio, and he has his Gyarados fire off, it's all she can do to grab the swimming blonde moving back to her, and place her forehead on his for just a moment. With its disappearance, she squeaks. "You're okay?" She cups his cheeks in her hands, and looks lovingly, turning towards where Lam and Rook are.[break][break]

She's paying for hot springs tonight. For all four of them. She won't take no for an answer, but they needed to leave. Like, now. Her voice sounded off, but she winces as she orders. "We need... to get out... the way we came. Exit." Mr. Business gives a salute...[break][break]

The Darmanitan looks on at Rook, his gaze catching something behind him. The ape's eyes widen, as he rushes towards him, attempting to push Rook out of the way. His arms would latch onto whatever it is, holding the mouth open, as the sharp teeth attempted to close down. They began to draw blood, digging into the hands of the gorilla, as he winces, but the gorilla held fast, despite his lack of training. With the whole cavern falling around them, the humans needed to get out. Now. The danger was too real.[break][break]

He shares one look to Genny. He nods.[break][break]

Genny nods. "We need... to go! Whole place... falling apart! Go! Go!"[break][break]

With a look of approval towards the Aron, she attempted to reach a hand out to pet it. But all it feels upon her hand is cold. There's no returning movement from her to Genny, it's like she's closed off. Adoption was off the table, but ususally her Pokemon fed into her energy. Mr. Business went with her chaotic ideas, Serenity was a puffball and often grounded her, and Bubbles was the baby. Let alone Dr. Rhythm's chill demeanor.[break][break]

As she retracts her hand, quizzical in thought, who else to help pull in a little sun but the everloving Isaac, pastries in hand, and Pokemon at his call. Genny cheers up immensely, and turns her hazel eyes. "Oh, hey Isaac! Yeah, sit down!" Bright and sunny, and it comes back to her like that, with the light of the sun moving around her.[break][break]

What surprises her most of all, is that the little Aron beside of her peers up to look at Isaac, and begins to move on the table, closer. For Genny, that was the most reaction she had gotten, period. Her hazel eyes peer over, as she tilts her head, a finger to her bottom lip.[break][break]

She turns to Isaac. "Huh. That's the most reaction I've gotten out of her all day."[break][break]

Even Genny's Eevee was staring. As the little Eevee looked over the Appletun, the Sinistea, the Fuecoco, and the Heracross, she would wave to each of them, one by one, a mew to each and every one of them.[break][break]

"How has life been for you? Things have been pretty crazy lately." she asks, rubbing the back of her head, only to begin pulling out a scrunchie from her purse to tie her hair into a ponytail.[break]
