Metal soled boots echo through the cavern as blood drips from the edge of her blade, red life splattered on her face as she walks across the central platform, a body lies behind her as she observes the central console. The woman sighs and shakes her head as she starts tapping away a series of complex commands, the sound of gunfire drawing her attention for only a millisecond before she gets back to work.

"Nobody has any sense of follow through these days. You get one League agent on your ass and you abandon your whole operation, really just sad all things considered. Not that I would ever expect anything better from trash like this, but the least you could do is prove me wrong." Xenon mumbles as the mining machinery stationed around the cavern hums to life, drilling into the walls and extracting Terastal Crystals to be packed away and shipped to Rocket HQ. "Not only that, but he has the gall to lead the jackasses all the way back here instead of dying like a real man. The people we hire these days, it's just tragic."

Red LEDs glow softly in the darkness as Rhodium hovers over its trainer, watching Josh and Elise with calculating eyes as they move in deeper into the compound. Analyzing them, learning from them, learning how to END them. It was a machine of war, the top of the line in the future it came from. Iron Jugulis units did not fail.

Intercoms hidden in the shadows screech to life as Xenon holds the microphone to her lips, attention still focused on the center console as she issues out a command to all the lowly grunts swarming the duo. "Alright you maggots, listen and listen closely cause I'm only saying this once. If any of you try to do something stupid like your last boss did, something like 'run away' or 'value your life over the operation', then I will personally hunt down every one of your family members and feed them their own eyeballs right in front of you. Then I'm going to string you up by your own intestines and throw you into the acid tank back at HQ. If we don't have one, I'll install one just for you, because I'm a very personal kind of boss who deeply cares about her employees. Hammer that mental image into your brain every time you think about the value of your own life, and remember. There's like fifty of you and only two of them. We'll have a pizza party with whoevers left alive after this, Xenon out."

"You know you're supposed to banter along with me kid. Makes this whole thing a hell of a lot more tolerable in the long run." Even as he dodges her attack and counters with his own, it's as if she has eyes in the back of her head as the baton swings over her head, her body dropping into a low stance and spinning as she plants one hand on the ground to support herself, followed by an extending leg out to strike out at his knee and crumple him where he stood. Assuming he dodged back like any sane person would, it wouldn't take much effort for her to spring back into action and move into his guard, striking out with quick jabs aimed at his face, up close and personal to try and remove the reach advantage his baton offered him.

The Rage Fist connects this time as Radon tries to pull her horn back out from the Primeape's body, ghostly wrath resonating through her chitin shell and sending the bug skidding backwards through the sand. It was more painful then expected, the Scolipede's eyes flicker over to the small Nidorino with irritation as she curls up into a ball and uses Rollout to spin right towards the small thing and crush her under her wheel. She's already twice as fast as she was when the fight started, the Speed Boost in effect is obvious enough as she suddenly swerves her course to avoid the Psychic blast aimed at her, a cloud of sand and debris exploding up into the air where she just was as she changes targets and slams her body right into the Beheeyem.

This didn't mean that Primeape would be left to his own devices though. He'd have to be quick to notice the sand shifting and churning under his feet as a Glimmora suddenly explodes up and out of the ground, spikes extending and body spinning as it uses Mortal Spin to inject a deadly poison right into the raging beast.

"What can I say, the entertainment was pretty lackluster and we don't even get to keep the party favors." It was just another job, not a memorable one, not an unpleasant one, but a job nonetheless. Call her a romantic, but she liked to think she should wake up looking forwards to work, making it an art whenever she put her talents to use in the field.

All the glory of rocket crap didn't mean jack or shit to her, if the League had been willing to take in a morally bankrupt psychotic with an obsession with the future then she just as easily could have tagged along with them, though maybe not considering her distaste for the laws they upheld in the first place.

"Oh, whoring yourself out on the first date huh? I love it when a man offers up his body so casually~" Xenon purrs as she faces Kouji with a lascivious grin. If they didn't know each other so well it would have been unexpected when Xenon immediately threw that haymaker right into the man's jaw with her prosthetic claw, cold metal impacting against scarred flesh as the Ultramodernist lets out a cry of exuberant violence. Maybe the night wouldn't end on such a shit note after all?

It would be nice to believe that she just obliterated the loser in one shot, but even she knew that wouldn't be the case with an Alakazam at his side. It was just foreplay really while they set the stage, a dance that lead to the explosive finale Xenon carried with her.

So she couldn't accept such a premature finale to the show so soon, everyone knows that nothing kills the mood quite like a bucket of cold water. "Alright Rhodium, time to start the game just like we practiced right?" The ultramodernist leans down towards the Iron Jugulis's center head and whispers, tapping out staccato rhythms and beats into its neck with her prosthetic claw, calculations and plans forming as the machine looks to the future.

The magnetic harness attaching the bomb to Rhodium deactivates, the machine throws its body into a half barrel roll as it flips the lower half of its body skyward and tosses the bomb into the air, narrowly avoiding the Hydro Pump and keeping the bomb safe at the same time. Error messages flash across its UI as psychic energy attacks and disables its dark energy production unit, it swiftly cycles through its other weapon options before settling on Flash Cannons and scanning the battlefield once more. Obviously the main threat here was the Inteleon sniping from a distance, so it only made sense to start firing on that one next, meanwhile Xenon had a much different plan in mind as she leaps from the back of Rhodion and pulls a Pokeball from her belt. "Alright Terbium, you're up!"

From the confines of the Pokeball and red light forms into a dragon, a bulky Garchomp manifesting beneath Xenon and catching her on her back as the two glide down to the ground to meet Nikita on her own turf. The dragon slams into the earth with a ground shaking crunch, roaring as it starts to charge right for the trainer and his Alakazam as Xenon laughs maniacally all the while. "Hit em with the Dragon Rush, tear their fucking bones apart!!!"

More Pokemon are getting thrown out as the guards start to pour in, must have had some more in the break room or something, either way it would be a pain to deal with them all and get away with the loot. Hafnium hypnotizes a woman who was about to make a break for the door, she collapses mid step and smashes her head against a glass case, the crack of her skull against reinforced glass rings through the room in a sickening manner, snapping others out of their reverie and summoning up more Pokemon to deal with.

Or it would have been more, if Kouji didn't decide to wisely chime in and summon up that getaway route he had planned for them. "Don't tell me what to do edge lord." She's of course moving towards him even as she snaps back, it's just the way things work out between them as Hafnium and Argon move in tandem to cover her escape, releasing waves of psychic and paranormal energy at the approaching wave to hold them off.

"But nah, this place is already played the fuck out. Your fashion all sucks by the way!" She yells as she hops through the phantom force portal, one second in Slateport, the next halfway across the fucking country in Sootopolis with hardly even a scratch. Her only regret is that she couldn't kill anyone, but some days are just meant to be boring. Maybe that bitch who smashed her head would end up in a permanent coma, she'd have to swing by sometime to find out.

She doesn't have the momentum she needs to throw him all the way overboard, even with the element of surprise their weights are just equal enough that she can't produce the force necessary to lift him up into the air and over into the briny deep. In fact all she gets for her troubles is a hard elbow to the spine that's definitely going to be bruising later, but she doesn't even mind that. She digs the claws of her right hand into his side as a token for his efforts, clawing out a bloody gouge with razor sharp metal claws that would definitely be scarring up in the future, even if it wasn't quite deep enough to be fatal. After that she lets herself get thrown overboard as she pushes her feet off the deck of the ship and feels her body sail through the air, a manic cry of joy in her wake as she briefly observes the chaos of the ship from her aerial perspective.

And what joy, what chaos it is! Fire is blocked by screens of light from either side, a staredown between the dragon kings of their respective eras, primal rage facing off against the harsh future that Xenon promises. The flames cut without warning as Rhodium focuses all power to its central head, a blinding white light building in its throat to match the Dragonite's as it opens wide and matches Hyper Beam against Hyper Beam! The clash hardly even lasts two seconds before the metal deck beneath crumples under the force of the shockwave, detonating and sending everyone still on the ship flying through the air, and pushing Xenon even further away as she rides the current and hits the ocean hard. It feels like she just slammed into solid concrete as she briefly skips across the sea's surface, until she comes to a stop against some piece of debris splashing into the ocean.

"Oof... yeah, that's gonna leave fucking mark." She laughs, though she's definitely hurt as she clings to the steaming metal and waits for Rhodium to swing around to pick her up. It didn't make it out of the fight unscathed either, but the point was never winning in the first place. It was just to cause as much chaos as possible, something she thinks she's thoroughly succeeded in by this point. Another score against the Lilycove government, another score for Team Rocket~

There are three fronts to this war for the relics, three fronts that drink deep of the blood spilled from Rocket and League alike, three fronts that could each be the deciding factor between victory and defeat.

There is of course the land, the actual beach leading into the ruins and everything within.

Then there's the sea, the primary approach for most trainers to get to the beach. Securing the ocean meant securing a steady supply of cannon fodder and other supplies, without a direct sea route either side would starve out before they could claim the relics they so desperately craved.

But in Xenon's own royal opinion, the most important war front was in fact the sky far above. An attack from above represents a precision strike at any target at any time, to dominate the skies is to dominate the ultimate avenue of attack, to be given free reign in just how you wanted to dismantle your enemy as you pleased. You can bomb them from far above, dropping explosives right on their base camps and giving them no opportunity to rest. You can harry them with hit and run tactics, always keeping them on edge and scared of when the next strike will come. You can support the other war fronts at your leisure, you can use the aerial advantage for better scouting for the primary target, the possibilities are as limitless as the clear blue sky itself.

And that's why the up and coming elite had focused so much time flying through the air, sniping out any League trainers she could find with the assistance of her Iron Jugulis and bombing any encampments she could find. And it's just her luck that she would spot yet another hapless fool flying through the air, prompting a bloodthirsty grin as she taps out a command to Rhodium to start swerving around for a salvo of Dark Pulses aimed straight at Luka. No words are needed, all she needs is one shot to send another trainer plummeting into the crimson horizon below, one shot to bring Team Rocket one step closer to total victory.

Once the Pheromosa is captured Xenon doesn't have much reason to stick around, she's had her fun for the day, played the good guy for a few minutes, seen what it's like to "help others just for the sake of helping." Honestly, pretty overrated all things considered, wouldn't consider doing it again willingly. Until she did consider it. But that's then and this is now.

The scientist hops down from her little corpse pile and waltz over to Gerald, having noticed him catch his own little buggy and clapping him on the shoulder as she passes by. "Alright now that that lameness is out of the way, time to go grab that thing we're actually here for. Check it, I led the fight over here so we wouldn't have to spend an hour walking around." Xenon walks up to the side of a massive pile of rubble with an air of casual ease about her, lifting her right leg up and planting her foot on the side of a large boulder. With a little bit of strain she starts to push, until momentum finally takes over and the great piece of concrete tumbles away to reveal a surprisingly sculpted entrance into the building that this rubble used to be, steel walls still holding up even after god knows how long. "Alright inside, you're gonna freak the fuck out over this."

As she walks into the dark corridor, old and unused lights flicker to life weakly overhead, barely illuminating the passage as she sticks her hands in her pockets and whistles an offbeat tune, echoing in the abandoned hall as they venture further and further in. And then finally they hit a door, or something that used to be a door, now it's something closer to a melted puddle of slag courtesy of Xenon. Doesn't stop her from stepping right over the threshold and into a room filled with... corpses. Dozens and dozens of human corpses, or something resembling a human anyways, it's difficult to tell from the state of mummification they're in after all this time. Each and every one of them preserved within a display case lining the walls, all leading to an opulent hourglass lined with precious crystals and jewels, easily the size of a building at the very end of it all. The sand within upon closer inspection is pure gold, the glass itself some kind of clear diamond. The "sand" slowly trickles down to the bottom of the glass, about halfway to finished from a brief inspection, for how long this thing had been running is anyone's guess.

Well, anyone but Xenon. She knew exactly how this thing worked. "So if you'll look to your left, you'll notice a neat little stack of documents I've collected around here that kind of suggests how this thing works, and to your right you'll see a control panel I've managed to bang together into somewhat functional operation. Go ahead and check it all out, it's some neat stuff if you ignore all the boring parts about the past civilization and other dumb shit like that."

The mission is fairly simple all things considered. Simply take a walk around Pacifidlog Town, note any vulnerabilities that could assist in taking over, then report back after the day is done. Easy peasie.

Xenon never really liked easy missions, they bored her to tears. There was no violence, no blood, no explosions, she might as well be on vacation. And again, this was taking time away from her other more important projects, things like taking over Lilycove instead of this podunk shithole masquerading as a town. The only thing useful about this place was its proximity to the Ultra Rift leading to Lesser Megalopolis. And sure that's useful in and of itself, but the town itself was still worthless!

The only upside to this whole thing was that at least she had a nice piece of ass to stare at accompanying her, the Ultramodernist's eyes flicking over to Calliope Alvara for a brief second before she turned her attention back to the little raft she was balancing on just outside the Pokecenter. "So what's your name again, and why should I care about you enough to bother memorizing it? Most of you grunts tend to like, get yourselves killed pretty fast and all, or run away and I have to kill you myself. Are you a runner? You don't look like a runner, but most people- well no, most people actually do look like runners. You can see it in their eyes, the Bitch factor lodged in their soul." She chuckles as she muses on this thing she just made up, sticking out her arms to help her better balance on the raft as she precariously tips from one side to another.

If the sea is dangerous, and the ground is dangerous, it is not a far leap of logic to assume that perhaps the sky won't fare much better. Whether or not Johanna knew this coming up, she would be quickly educated on what a disastrous decision this would be as a distant dot approaches her from the horizon, an outline forming as it grows closer, followed by distinct features and colors. Detached wings held in place by electromagnetic force, three heads focused on the Drifblim and its trainer, bright crimson LED lights pulsing softly, a girl riding the beast's back with a smile as the Absol on her back yawns.

"Hot air balloon huh? Well I can't say that's my first, second, or even third choice in stealth infiltration, but I respect the moxie!" She wasn't actually talking to Johanna as she starts tapping her fingers against Rhodium's neck, instead directing her attention over her shoulder at Antimony, blinking slowly to display his very obvious boredom with the whole situation. "Yeah no, you're right, this one probably won't be all that interesting either. We should head back down to the shore for more slaughter when we're done here."

But hey, maybe Johanna would surprise Xenon a little! The Iron Jugulis's "wings" angle themselves towards the League girl as they suddenly erupt in a blinding flash of red light, Hurricane force winds ripping through the sky right for the Drifblim and its trainer to tear them from the clouds and dash them upon the ground below if they can't get out of the way in time!

Nothing is more important than a good entrance. This is a defining rule that Xenon lives by, if you can't make yourself known loudly and flashily, than what's even the fucking point of making yourself known? So yeah, Xenon rides right into League airspace on top of a flying war mecha, what other kind of entrance could she possibly make as she arrives at this massive battleground where Rocket and League alike do battle for some pointless bullshit she could care less about?

But what's the point of making a flashy entrance if nobody even notices it!? She's so deep into League territory that she might as well be holding up a flashing sign saying "Shoot me down" yet not a single person has tried so far! It's absolutely pathetic! And she knows nobody has tried because she's got a literal warning signal strapped to her back as her Absol reads the future for calamity, yet the poor boy hasn't yipped or growled even once to warn her of anything! These guys are total idiots!

She's almost considering just dropping the bomb she's carrying right now just to make these guys suffer for their continued ignorance, but it's only thanks to the watchful eye of Nikita far below that Xenon and Rhodium finally get a chance to make some waves as Antimony's eyes snap open and he lets out a sharp warning yelp. "Oh my fucking god finally! Was starting to think these idiots were actually blind!" The girl yells as she taps Rhodium on the left next twice, prompting a sharp dive to the left just in time to avoid a sniper shot of water from below drilling through where they used to be.

"Al-fucking-right! That's a fucking spicy one right there, let's see if you're a one trick pony or not!" The Ultramodernist grins viciously as she moves her left hand to Rhodium's center neck and begins tapping out a series of morse code commands, the war beast of the future drifting through the air and spinning to face in Nikita's general direction. The Inteleon's sharp eyes would be able to spot all three heads charging up some kind of dark energy within their open maws, telescopic eyes zooming in on the trainer directly and calculating the optimal angle for immediate death as the beams converge into one almighty Dark Pulse, aimed straight at Nikita's poor vulnerable human face!

A wave of psychic terrain envelops the battlefield, the power of the mind distorting the laws of space subtly around the duo as the Scolipede peels away from Xenon and moves to engage the Primeape and Nidorino. "Hey hey~ If you're here to join the party I'm afraid I've got some bad news, house is all filled up! Gonna have to turn you right back around now, unless you wanna know how it feels to get a limb chopped off. It's not the worst, but it's a pretty short experience unless you're already prepared ahead of time." She pulls up the sleeve on her left arm to demonstrate, razor sharp claws tipping her digits as she wiggles them at Thomas in a teasing manner. Her whole arm was made of metal in fact, an impressive prosthetic work to anyone with any kind of knowledge of engineering or science, but that's entirely besides the point.

A quiet buzz from that same arm however catches her attention as she taps on the back of her hand, a small hologram of some Rocket tactician saying something to her as she goes to completely ignoring Thomas as if he wasn't even there. "What's up? Yeah I know you've got people watching me. Uh huh. Yeah. No. Nope. Nuh uh... really? But I'm already at five, can't I just- ok. Okay okay, no need to raise your voice. Sheesh. You do know I'm an Elite right? Fine. Fiiiiiine." And with that little ten second distraction out of the way Xenon turns her attention back to Thomas as the hologram fades.

"Ok yeah, so command says you gotta die now. Sucks to be you kid." A cloud of sand explodes under her feet and into the air as she kicks into action, the blood stained metal claw rearing back into the air and then swinging forwards at the man's throat as she tries to end the match in one devastating move. Meanwhile Radon is doing a more than adequate job of fending off the Primeape as it swings around in a full three hundred and sixty degree arc and slams its tail into the monkey's fist, a thick coat of water covering the appendage and soaking the Primeape as the remnants of the attack splash forwards into its eyes. Without even a millisecond of hesitance she's then spinning back around in the other direction and thrusting her horn straight into her opponent's guard, the mass of razor sharp piercing chitin glowing and expanding into a powerful Megahorn!
