Throughout this little miniature war Xenon can't help but wonder one thing as she struts the deck of the Rocket ship en route to stop the League incursion on the island they were all fighting over.

Where did they even get these ships from?

Are they just all stolen or something? Cause there's no way they built this many ships all by themselves, even with the resources of a city to back them up. So they had to be stolen right? But then they would have had to modify these vessels to be military mounted as well, since there's no way every single ship they managed to steal was already outfitted with machine guns and such. She really shouldn't be thinking about this, the past was kind of useless after all, but even she can't help but be just a little curious about how they got a hold of such a seriously well outfitted naval force.

Anyways. Naval battles huh. Kinda like being a pirate. Just a lot more ships involved. Wild stuff. She kinds prefers the skies honestly, she doesn't have any proper aquatic pokemon, but she can still do more than her fair share from the deck of this ship as Argon calls up Thunderbolts from the skies to fry approaching ships from afar, a good blast of lightning can punch a hole in a hull just as well as any cannonball after all. But frying scouting ships just wasn't her style in the end... maybe this armada they were coming up on would prove to be a bit more of a challenge huh?

Xenon reaches over to the broadband radio she had rigged up and switches to one of the League frequencies she knows they use, tuning into whatever radio transponder is on the approaching ships as she picks up the script the League higherups gave to her. Something something turn back now, something something give up or we will board you, etc etc. Boooooooooring. Just gonna throw that into the water, let some Inkay or something read that boring ass prose. "Here be dragons landlubbers, turn back now lest ye be subject to the lawless laws of the Rockets! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Oh yeah that was like ten times better. And nobody will take her seriously either, which means she definitely gets to down them when they inevitably try to come after her and her fleet.

Oh yeah, that bears mentioning huh? Yeah she's not like, all by herself on one ship. She's got like, at least five different ships behind her, maybe a dozen more a few miles back patrolling closer to the island. Yeah, she's not gonna be fucking around on this mission.

Ah, woe is she. Always misunderstood by all around her, none ever able to see her grand vision as she lays it out before them. Well it's for the best, that only she could see it is what makes it so special after all.

Xenon lets out a deep sigh as she pushes Geral out of the way and flips a few switches, activating the device as the hourglass flips and the sands of time reverse their course in a grandiose display of technological prowess. "Come back outside and you'll see." She rolls her eyes as she grabs the man by the arm and drags him back out past the corpses, through the hall, and right back out into the Ultra Desert... where it was now night. Despite the sun being at its highest point just a few minutes ago, now it's night.

"Tadah. I've discovered a work of temporal manipulation on such a scale that it can alter the day and night cycle of the entire region. Just another fucking day for you simpletons." Nobody appreciated her work, everything had to be a weapon to be impressive these days. She could discover an infinite source of food and life, and some fucking executive would ask how it could be used to kill a League officer with it and why it was even worth their time if it couldn't. People these days...

"You obviously haven't been paying attention! This has been nothing but fun for me!" Xenon quips back as she takes the kick to the leg, bracing her footing and just letting the powerful strike reverberate through her body and numb her leg a bit while she continues to push forwards. As for memories of a certain past Interpol officer... well, you're asking the wrong person if you're looking for fond memories or recognition. As far as she was concerned, everything that happened in Unova might as well have happened to another person, for all she knew it probably did. Past lives, past names, the past in general, all totally and utterly useless to her.

Jabs to the face start getting interrupted by vicious hooks to his sides as she starts to weave around his guard, eyes darting from spot to spot on his body as she mechanically picks apart his stance and movements with machine-like precision, picking out exactly where he would be rather than where he was.

It's unclear whether it was truly the poisons that kill the Primeape or simply its own rage inspiring a heart attack helped along by the Glimmora's ruthless toxins, but regardless of all that the deed was done. And Bismuth was already preparing for the next ambush as it starts to wiggle back down into the sand to lie in wait for whomsoever might attack next. Or at least, that was the plan until the Nidorino strikes back. A raw explosion of earth aspected energy throws the miscolored pokemon up into the air, utterly incapacitating it in a single strike as the rich ground smothers its poisonous body and shatters its stone defenses, if it were a Nidoking then Bismuth would undoubtedly be dead just from that single strike.

Another psychic blast launched towards the spinning Scolipede, another miss as it uses its increasing speed to swerve out of the way and Rollout into the Beheeyem once more from the side, pounding and pounding into the alien doll with no breaks, no mercy, only pure speed and momentum that's ever increasing as the fight continues.

The light of Illumina energy reveals the path forwards, parting the pink fog like a blade as they walk step by step forwards into the Interdream. The dull sounds of everything begin to sharpen and focus as they reach their destination, what was once an endless possibility condenses into a singular moment as they step out of the mists and onto a wooden deck, harsh rains pounding down upon them as battle rages all around.

A less observant soul would assume they had been transported out into the oceans near the island where the League waged war against Team Rocket trying to breach the beaches, Xenon could immediately spot the very out of place pirate flag fluttering above, a mechanical moth flying nearby as swords clash against one another in a scene straight from a high seas fantasy novel.

"Argh." Xenon dully states as she reaches out and pushes away a pirate that was about to back up into her, lancing him straight into an oncoming sword and illiciting a victorious cry from another pirate before he too is impaled from behind by the first's crewmate. "Rhodium, clear the deck." With a mechanical beep of affirmation the Iron Jugulis steps out in front of the duo, whipping up a massive hurricane as it angles its anti grav propellers forwards and sweeping every pirate up and away from them to give them room to properly battle. "The floor is yours captain. Give us a high seas adventure to remember aye?"

She has him on the back foot, he has to scramble to put together to plan before she can achieve her goal, all she has to do is stall for time. Step by step she approaches the future, as inevitable as the tide washing away the cliffside, the longer he took to decide the more likely it was that all those poor innocent little casualties become greasy stains burning up in a pile of flaming ashes. And Xenon very well knows this too as she lets Terbium continue her Dragon Dance, psyching herself up and making her a faster and stronger opponent with every passing second. Tick, tick, tick.

"Ooh, relying on Glalie's natural levitation to fight up high huh? Very interesting plan, very interesting. But that doesn't really save you from your current predicament does it?" The Rocket teases as she starts swaying in time with her Garchomp, plucking another Pokeball from her belt and releasing an Absol to join the attack. "And actually, my thing is totally different. The thing you just said is super ancient and primitive, totally not my thing, I'm all about the future. I'm really loving the future where I snap you in half like a dry twig, has anyone ever told you you look like a dry twig? I don't actually care, but I'm telling you that now."

Back up above, Rhodium's sensors ping as it detects a pulse of psychic energy accompanying the Glalie's teleportation up to its level, one head swiveling to keep its ruby gaze locked upon the ball of hail as it charges up its attack. A wave of sheer cold erupts from the pokemon's maw as it tries to freeze the Iron Jugulis in place, but it has no chance of hitting the aerodynamically superior Pokemon as it simply dives under the cloud of cold and continues on its way, more than content to just leave the slower creature behind as it focused on its true objective.

But the future bears no mercy for anyone in the end. A psychic attack from the past finally catches up and strikes in the present as Barbara's Future Sight strikes out at one of Rhodium's wings, an ear piercing screech of static noise erupting from its speakers as its course falters and its grip weakens, just enough for the bomb to start dropping once more, just slightly off course from its optimal target. Now at this point it could reasonably just let the bomb hit, decimate a portion of the outside of the camp based on the explosive's trajectory, retreat back to its trainer and assist in the battle she was engaged in.

But it seemed that even machines could have perfectionist streaks as the lights of its eyes sharpen and it rapidly dives down to catch the bomb, buying the camp just a few more seconds as it tries to reassert its course and hit the target properly like it was assigned.

Xenon is of course entirely unaware of this as she directs Terbium and Antimony, growing bored of waiting and tapping out a few commands against her leg with her metal claw. Simple commands, but commands that only she and her team could understand when under observation from an enemy. Unless you were some kind of master code breaker of course, but what were the odds of her running into that kind of person out on the field right?

Its simple enough, Antimony would start the approach by charging at the Alakazam with a Night Slash from its horn, when the Houndstone inevitably jumped in to interrupt, then Terbium would Crunch down on the faithful hound and take one Pokemon out of play. Easy enough, right? And so it begins as the Absol starts running towards Barbara with a gleaming black blade of shadow, Terbium's muscles tensing as she gets ready to follow up.

Werewolves howl for blood under the sunless sea, men do battle against the horde to stop them before they can wreak their havoc, a lone rockstar and her lead bassist play the backdrop for the epic tale. "AWOOOOOOOO-OOOOOOOOOO!" She howls as metal fingers shred through the strings of her guitar with a screeching hiss, the Toxtricity plucks at the protrusions of its chest and a low thrum accents her tune in perfect harmony.

A Lycanroc pounces for her, claws raised high and swinging down for her throat to interrupt the song, sorry to say that there'll be no party crashers tonight as Polonium turns and lets loose a booming Shock Wave to throw the wolf back and keep the song going. And so it goes on and on till the sun comes up, a rocking Rocket and her backup guitarist playing the tune of the apocalypse.

Yeah she wasn't really expecting much better from the grunts to be entirely honest. They were there to be spare bodies in the way of the two trainers while the mining operation continued for as long as it could, and they weren't doing a very good job of doing that either. "Come on boys, I don't see you throwing yourselves at them hard enough~" Xenon trills as another squad of five charges towards the duo, each of them summoning a Gliscor to attack with various elemental fangs.

"Alright, now that they're sufficiently motivated. Lets see what other toys we've got to play with here." The Rocket Elite mumbles to herself as she flips a few more switches, activating more drills to continue mining while directing some of the mobile platforms to take a hefty swing at Elise and Josh just to keep them on their toes. Well ideally it would crush them into a bloody pulp as giant metal claws swung from the ceiling to smack them off the bridge and send them plummeting to a messy doom, but she didn't really care all that much whether they lived or died. "Hey, I don't know if you two can hear me over all the drills and stuff, but I'd really appreciate it if you just killed yourselves right now, would take a huge weight off of my shoulders. You're probably not gonna do that, which is a real bummer, but I'm just throwing the option out there! You'd make a pretty girl happy~"

Ah, she was in such a good mood too. She had found something really cool that would get her a lot of attention in Rocket, she got a super Ultramodern Pokemon from another dimension, she got to kill a lot of other Ultramodern Pokemon from other dimensions. And the Gerald had to go and ask a question like that.

The temperature in the room drops a degree as Xenon considers pulling out her sword and just chopping his head off right then and there. But then he'd get blood all over her neat and tidy technical documents, which was no bueno. So for the first time in quite a long time, Xenon decides to open up a little about her personal philosophy. A proper lecture on what the past and future meant, not just the mad rambles of a woman who obviously didn't take anything seriously.

Xenon looks at Gerald and takes him very, very seriously.

"Let's put it like this. The past and everything that has ever happened in history... has already happened. This might seem obvious, but really consider what that means. Nothing new is ever going to happen in the past. It's a frozen picture. Sure, some of that picture might be obscured to you because you don't know about it, but why should I care? Knowing about the past won't change anything about it. It's stagnant. There's nothing to be learned. And to cling onto the past is to cling to that stagnation, its resisting change. And I just can't stand it." She walks around to face Gerald face to face and takes off her glasses, tossing them to the side with a flick of her wrist and locking eyes with him. The madness is still there, but its steeled now, sharpened to a razor's edge and wielded as a weapon of pure logic. It's zealotry is what it is, the dogma of the future and the glory contained therein.

"Change is a good thing, I think too many people are scared of change in our world. They want peaceful lives, they want the same thing every day, they want to cling to their past like it's a safety blanket. It's boring beyond compare, people like that are the people I hate the most in this world. People who cling onto their traditions thinking it'll keep them safe, who force their traditions onto others that way they can stay in their little safety bubble they call reality without it ever being challenged. People who deny the future. The future is a beautiful thing, a blinding light that's always shifting and changing, you never know what the future holds for you. Everyone can pursue their own version of the future, and as those futures clash and grind against one another, it paints the most vibrant palette one could ever see, and it happens every day. How someone could see that beautiful canvas of conflict and want to splash over it with the same boring tone as yesterday, I can just never understand it. And I don't want to. So I hate the past, I hate history, I hate everything that happened yesterday and the day before that and every other day before even that. I refuse to be the same person I was yesterday, I'll keep changing and growing and molding myself into something new every day, and one day I'll find myself in such a beautiful future that I might just be satisfied dying in it. And then I want everyone to forget who I was and instead keep chasing after their futures and dreams."

Xenon nods at the astute observation made by the little miss who was chasing after her, trapped together would be the most honest way of putting this scenario in the end. But still. "Yep! Which is why I need you to answer my questions obviously, since my survival is pretty dependent on whatever you can offer me at this given moment." Xenon continues, completely brushing off Yuina's rejection as she continues to follow along behind her. When the Aegislash readies for battle she gives her just a little personal space (9 meters exactly), but she presses on with her questioning even so as she forms a little square with her fingers and observes the ranger trainee with a squinted eye of concentration.

"Ooh that's a tough jump, I wouldn't make that." Xenon remarks as she picks up a rock from the ground and tests its weight in her palm, seemed to be standard from what she would expect from Dimension A (home dimension), but she did need to run some more tests still. She rears her arm back and lightly tosses the rock towards one of the strange sideways islands that was close by, what should be a wall by all standards, yet was not. The rock should have plummeted down into the abyss as it passed by that wall, but what actually occurred next was beyond strange by any standards as it instead began to fall sideways. Her eye tracks the rock as it hits the "ground" and rolls to a stop, calculating the momentum the rock retained and how it changed as it switched between fields of gravity. She tests it out one more time for good measure with an eraser she had in her coat, before nodding to herself and deciding on a course of action.

Meanwhile Yuina seemed to come to much the same conclusion with much less testing and hypothesizing, instead just jumping right to the island that Xenon was observing without a care in the world. And hey, it works! So following in her wake the Ultramodernist jumps right to the island, stomach doing a slight flip as her directional gravity shifts, and hits the ground with both feet, arms held wide and a great grin on her face. "Alright cool! Looks like we've got a way to go from island to island, isn't that neat?" Xenon exclaims as she turns to Yuina and moves to pat her on the back, only to get blocked by that Aegislash once more. "You know, considering we could end up trapped her forever and all, you could stand to be a little more friendly. I feel like you're getting very caught up on what our relationship 'was' when you should really be focusing now on what it is."

With an action movie star leap the Inteleon barely manages to escape the cascade of steel flashes bombarding its sniper's nest, U-Turning back into its Pokeball and leaving Rhodium to its grim work as it swoops back up into the sky. It's just as it does this that the bomb reaches the peak of its ascent and begins to fall back down to the earth, just in time for the iron beast to rotate its body a full ninety degrees and catch the payload in its magnetic harness, all in all a sequence of events that barely spanned six seconds in the air.

Thus we cut back to Xenon and Terbium, clashing against the mighty Houndstone as it channels fae energy to negate the furious Dragon Rush coming its way. It is of course a perfect counter, forcing a reset as the Garchomp and its rider are pushed back, but it was far from the worst possible outcome. The dragon took a few cuts in the clash, but now she knew what to expect as she begins to slowly circle around the detective and his hound, the Ultramodern scientist sliding off Terbium's back and locking eyes with Nikita.

"Uh, so I can divine your future obviously? Don't you know that you can totally divine the future based off of how bones crack?" This technically only applied to bones thrown in fire, but that could be taken care of pretty easily in the end. The sand dragon stops in place suddenly and begins to sway back and forth, keeping a tense eye on the Houndstone as she engages in a Dragon Dance to psych herself up, body enveloped in a soft white glow as it waits for the ghostly fiend to make its first move.

All the while Rhodium is only getting further away as it carries the bomb to its intended destination, unaware of the attack coming its way in the future. But would that be enough to stop the flying tank as it bears down on the League camp Nikita was bound to protect?

"Thanks, I got it after our little trip to Galar. Legendary ice cuts like a bitch it turns out." Even with all the talk about how much she wanted to kill someone during that little jewelry heist, she isn't really feeling that bloodlust now as she squares up against Kouji. Maybe it's because she enjoyed his company more than she liked to admit, but the idea of ending his life right now just didn't appeal, at least for the moment.

She's expecting him to go for a return punch to the jaw, having her legs swept out from under her is a welcome surprise as her back hits the floor and a jolt of pain shoots up her spine, but there's no time to acknowledge that. The ultramodernist is already rolling out of the way as his foot slams into the floor with a loud THUD, pushing herself back up to her feet and ramming her body into his gut in a spear tackle to try and knock him over in turn, of course making sure to lead with her right shoulder to thrust that metal into his body once more.
