His expression was blank, the man’s words echoed in his ear, his charge had been successful; so why was this man still taunting him? His mind couldn’t fathom it, or why his hand moved in the way it did; it was a matter of instinct, movements he had driven into his own body, to fire the gun.

But there was that drive, just an echo of the person he was trying to be, as he let the clip fall from the gun, and replaced it with a fresher one…Why had he taken this out with him? Why had he loaded it? Had he expected to fall down this path again? Like a cursed mark that one couldn’t remove, a stain on his skin, a stain on his soul.

He wasn’t any better a person than before, he hadn’t made up for any sins.
[break][break]
He was simply pretending, and that pretend was why the first bullet had missed, forcing the sights away from Hitoshi, but he trained it on the man again. ”You really want to die huh? Well, I’ll…”

As for Crawdaunt and Kingambit, the battle was reaching the fever pitch, he had no choice in that moment, the pokemon felt the darkness gather around his own claw; a knock-off, like a vagrant swinging up at the king, and he charged before his jump, a downwards swing to meet the night slash.

It was a decisive blow, just as much for him as it was for the other, but a blunt strike against such a sharp sword; especially against his softened shell…It was decisive, as the world went black for Crawdaunt, his head flew; a spray of blood painted the insides of the cavern.

For his opponent, even a fist fight was a deadly sword fight, a rule that Crawdaunt should have known.

Jett hadn’t expected his stunt to work, but in a sense; his lunge had back fired on him; one of his hands was utterly useless, the other was holding his gun; self defence was a difficult fthing for the man was busy trying to whale on him. ”You’re not half bad. If you were a little more serious, you’d have killed me a long time ago.” There was no joy in his voice, the very idea itself sunk into his head and made him even more disappointed in himself.

The actions he was taking, they were the true self-mutliaton, shooting himself in the hand wasn’t anything special in comparison to the pain he felt as he raised the hand holding the gun, and bashed it down, a strike on the man who was scratching up; Jett hissed and flinched back; getting off the man mid strike as a finger found one of his eyes.

”Fuck, fuck, fuck.” He growled out,

When it came to shock, Crawdaunt didn’t have a choice but to take the cleave; he crossed his hardened claws over his head, but the sheer force of it caused the ground to crack, and then cave in, a crack that ran through one of his claws. A powerful strike it simply hadn’t had the time to prepare for as the blade scraped past its body, and caused a gush of blood even from that small contact.

Yet, it was that small contact that caused it to become enraged, to charge forward, and throw a Crabhammer, a powerful, condensed, spiral of water around its one good claw.

Jett looked at the act in front of him and nodded; it was a strong strike, a powerful blow but…

”Isn’t that a lil on the heavy side?” The smell of ozone was strong in the air, the charge of electricity, the power that eminated from it. That was a strong pokemon, a very strong pokemon.

”I’m all for cutting corners, but completely blowing them up might be a little…” He faded out as he nodded to his Iron Valiant, the pokemon surged; the pink parts of its body began to glow brighter and brighter until she shot off. There was one goal, and one goal alone in this place.

To take back a Combee, she didn’t aim for any of those which sat on the ground, but rather those who had survived; higher in the air; a touch on the ground before she bounded up high, a collection of electric energy that formed into a beam struck one of them; before Iron Valiant landed, an arm extended to catch the Combee.

”She’s a show-off, don’t mind her. Hey, give Cider a helping hand” To which he got a nod, the heavy buzzing only got far heavier, and the entire nest had been ready to come bearing down on them.

A simple answer, to a simple question, the road that was ever changing, the strain it put on his own body. It was a strange space, but that was fine, he was a strange person, as was nearly everyone else that fit into this place.

”What brings you here? Lost, or maybe you’ve found something?” His voice was even, course, but there was that hint of curiosity that brought forward the idea he felt in his head.

There didn’t need to be questions of allegiance, or crime, it was a dream, and in a dream; well, it would only last until the wake.

Jett looked at him, before nodding. ”Alright Garlette, wrap it up. Lucario’s done the heavy lifting, do the double hit.” He said as his Scyther did exactly that, a double hit against the pokemon, each significantly harder than a strike of that class should have been, putting the mega evolved from down for the count, a double strike by the two of them was too intense.

That was fine just as well, as Jett got back onto Cyclizar. ”Let’s hit the rush then.” So, the two men who were too self-involved in their catch-up, had ended up breezing past the men which guarded the opening, their pokemon hot on their tails.

”I’m holding you to that slateport deal. I haven’t been there in…Forever, so we better try some of those tacos. We both know the Matron won’t let me back in there.” His laughter was loud, it echoed in the cave right until the moment that the sun’s light blessed their skin once more.

Jett did a double take for something else into something else. ”W-what? Is that what you’re focusing on?” He said as he held the Remoraid, he used an Ice Beam that shot across the floor, for the smooth steel ball; the floor was even more slippery than anything else.

”It’s the experience of partners…Is what I want to say, but you ever wonder how they stick to a Mantine forever? Similar here, the nubs are too rough for it to slip out.” He explained the reality of it. The surprise and amazement of his voice didn’t come through. It was a plain, even tone.

Jett didn’t hesitate as he had Cyclizar turn, it was a dangerous area if anything, but the large bumbling pokemon that crashed into everything would find no succor here. A narrow road, buildings framing both of their sides. It was the kind of place that could only end negatively for them.

But between the Confuse Ray, and the Ice Beam, it skidded past its turn. It missed the narrow road they had turned into, but it crashed through a building with care as if to catch up to them again.

Jett couldn’t really believe this strange space he was stuck occupying, it changed and shifted; the roads weren’t ever the same, at a point it been a zany pizza, at others it was interconnected grass, at others it was interlocked planks of wood, and yet Cyclizar charged on regardless, a lack of caring for his own well being.

It was the charge of something else, Jett looked in front of him; was it a real person, was it a figment of his own imagination. Still, the one and only thing he could think of, to verbalize was this.

”Damn, you’re a good looking guy.”
[break][break]
His Cyclizar came to a stop in this liminal space, and Jett adjusted his sitting position so that it wouldn’t be uncomfortable for either of them.

Jett didn’t really pay attention to the battle, he trusted his pokemon to come out on top, and battling alongside kyle lopez. It was a simple matter, and so he chatted about potential sites for a meal.

”I’d love an Enchilada, or maybe a Taco, that’d be great. You remember the Taco’s the matron used to make? The cheese she used to make is out of this world, I wonder if she got it from Johtonian milktanks…” He said as he wondered on it, they had different flavours.

But as Lucario dodged the blows, and created the opening for his Scyther, Garlette cut through the air. It was a fast movement, it was quicker than usual as she began to dance; gliding in the air like a ballerina, an acrobat, the spins, and twirls before she delivered a series of attacks right before the moment.

The moment in which she touched down on the ground, right as she struck the Medicham, and the Gyarados, between taking the recoil of its crash, and taking an attack it was very weak to, Medicham found itself collapsing even before it could be mega evolved, but the Gyarados had the chance as it began to glow brightly.

”Alright, now let’s wrap it up before it gets too long.” He said as he looked at the pokemon in front of them.

Jett smirked, a simple direction to go into. ”If he’s gonna hold back from the marshmallow, then as an adult it’s only natural that I give him two later.” He said as his Cyclizar took a sharp right; a heavy movement, but Bubby knew just which direction he went.

”Don’t worry Cider, I’ll get you some apple infused mead you’ve earned yourself. You’ll want to rename yourself ciders.” Jett had a simple idea in mind really, they didn’t have to do much.

”Hey, Cider. How do you feel about surfing?” He said as he took a pokeball from his pocket, his Iron Valiant came out into the open; his blade poised and pointed into the direction of the dangerous hive, a large number of bees buzzed into the air.

”Electric Terrain.” And so the land changed, a charge that built up from the ground up.

Scyther had no choice after its attack struck; the tentacle that whipped out a force of psychic power headed for its wing, it didn’t have the room to maneuver without losing its wing, so it took it with its scythes crossed over its chest.

It was a strong defense, but it was still forced backwards, its right scythe seemed to dangle uselessly at its side, but that was fine. She charged into the air, a series of spins, before she came back down with great speed.

It was a series of attacks that were matched by the rapid rotation of his pokemon, a series of spins so she could strike at her strongest.

Once the two hopped on, he couldn’t hide the smirk on his face, not at all. ”Pika…Huh?” His mirth filled voice revealed his thoughts on that very topic as Cyclizar began to move, his feet kicked up dirt as he began to move forward.

”Looks ya Raichu’s a lil confused, wonder if he’s got a sweet tooth too.” He said as he looked forward, the tall grass approached rather quickly, they just had to turn before the weather institute before them.

”We might just have to leave Cyclizar with the honey and capture at this rate.” At the end of the day, it always comes back to that sweet tooth. But perhaps, as the buzzing in the distant began to appear, he wanted to wrap this up quickly.

”I’ll treat ya to some homemade meade in a month if we do well.”

Cyclizar couldn’t get itself free from the attack; as it was tied up, and forced to look into the eyes of Malamar; the rotation of its eyes, the glow of a peaceful sleep, Cyclizar didn’t stand a chance in such close quarters, it didn’t have such a great chance in taking such a battle against its own sleep.

It snored, very loudly. Jett took out his pokeball, and drew in his poisoned, sleepy pokemon back into the comfort of the insides of that pokeball, he’d have to heal it better later. ”Alright. You’re up Garlette.” He said as he threw another pokeball into the air, the Scyther took to the air, and looked down at the Malamar.

”Alright, begin it. Double hit.” He said to his pokemon as it soared down towards the Malamar. ”Watch out for the tentacles, you might get hooked.”

Jett clicked his tongue as his Cyclizar took the stage; the revved engine, the lack of choice in the attack it was supposed to make in that moment as he charged forward, his claws began to glow a draconic blue in that moment, brighter and brighter as it slashed at the Psycho Cut, even as he dispersed it; a slash cut up his arm.

”Strike.” His Cyclizar jumped, pounced onto the Malamar, using his mean claws to aim for the most vulnerable points of that pokemon, as if to cut into him, to beat into him, to tear into him. Even if he was a mere mount, even as a mere “tamed’ pet, there was a singular truth.

He was a dragon.

”Wait, another Mauville native huh?” There was a tint of joy in that, they were the closest to this place in a sense, a pair of long roads that connected this island to that electric town.

”I’ll be sure to buy ya a drink at some point.” He said as an offer, and yet bought himself more time in order to think up a question. He hummed aloud for a moment, before he nodded to himself.

”Alright, don’t laugh. It’s a bit’o a weird one. But I’ve been messing up this flan recipe, I don’t know if you’re a baking girl, but how the hell do you get a flan to work properly.” It was a completely strange question to ask, one that invaded his mind in a moment, but at the same time. He gave away one of his own hobbies, a recent hobby, while asking the same of another person.

It wasn’t some smart psychological trick, it was just an intrusive thought he hadn’t filtered properly.

”Hey Cider.” He said to the Raichu, an Alolan one; memories flowed through his head about that region, that area but he shook them off in a moment.

Still, he kicked up Cyclizar in that moment. ”I’ll take a couple of cavities over lung cancer anyday. Ain’t nothing more of a downer than a bit of cancer.” Jett said with mirth.

But that was about it, there was an impatience in him as he got comfortable on the back of his Cyclizar. His foot tapped against the ground, his eyes watched the feet of the man across from him. There was that humming that came from the back of his throat as he chewed on the chocolate cigarette’s base.
