Luckily the older male didn’t seem to mind him sticking around. Why he wasn’t overly social there were times where he just didn’t want to be alone. Usually being alone didn’t phase him. He had grown up with very little interaction with others. So he did like his solitude quite a bit. But he hadn’t become a total recluse and did actually enjoy being around others.

Though being around a crowd still wasn’t something he was fond of. Something he was aware he would have to get use to if were to be an idol. He was sure he would get there though. After all he was becoming more comfortable showing his emotions. Which like with his isolation was due to the way he had been brought it. It would be hard to erase years of doing something a certain way but he knew he would be able to pull it off.

Right now though he wasn’t in the mood to have to interact with a bunch of people. So a one on one conversation sounded nice. Though that did bring up a new complication. Making small talk wasn’t something he was the best at. At least not when he had time to think about it.

Well that was good news. He didn’t care much for Pokémon getting hurt. Which was why him battling was rare. Hopefully that would be the only hurt pokemon they came across. One could only hope that they wouldn’t have to deal with another hurt pokemon.

Choosing not to say anything he simply nodded before collecting his newly inquired pokemon. Luckily the subject moved on and moved back to Desiree’s original reason for coming here. Well one of her reasons anyway. ”I would appreciate that,” he said once she mentioned finding him a shell. He should probably over to find one himself but considering he couldn’t open his eyes underwater that was probably not a good idea.

Before he could say anything else she was already below the surface. While he waited he took the chance to look around. He didn’t really see anything which was a good thing. The last thing he would want is to be caught off guard by a Pokémon. The sound of Desiree resurfacing drew his attention away from the scenery as he returned his attention to his new friend.

”Thanks,” he said as he took the shells from her before he continued speaking. ”I would’ve offered to look myself but I’ve never been able to open my eyes underwater,” he admitted sheepishly as he put away the shells for safe keeping.

His own attention would be grabbed by the Aromatisse and he would eye it curiously but make no move to get closer. Instead he would watch as Desiree approached the Aromatisse on the floatie. Since it was asleep a battle wasn’t required and he would watch as she just tapped a pokeball against it.[break] DESIREE BLOOMS

It was probably a bit of a surprise to have never seen a magic trick before now. But his father had seen it as a waste of time. Or more like he saw it as a distraction from his school work. Or something that would only serve to end up giving him even more ideas that opposed what his father planned for him.

He kind of felt bad now that he had brought it up. ”I wasn’t trying to make you feel bad. I still thought it was a good trick. I’m not the type just to give out praise for no reason,” he told her.

Talking about his reasons might bring the mood down. So he figured he would just give a watered down version of the reason. ”Not exactly, my father was pretty well off,” he told her before continuing. ”He just thought anything fun was a waste of time.”

”I kind of left in the middle of the night for that reason. And I haven’t been back since,” he told her. Well that wasn’t the real reason but it was close enough to the truth. His fathers lack of support for his dreams wasn’t something he felt like getting into.

Though he was still concerned he nodded. If he said he was okay he would just have to believe him. Of course he did have thoughts on why he might’ve been easier to work with but he didn’t dare mention them. Though that was only if the other person was a woman. If the person wasn’t then he wasn’t real sure why he would be easier to work with.

”Thanks, I’m pretty easygoing mostly but not to the point I would be a pushover. I think it I wasn’t I would’ve just snapped a long time ago,” he said as he thought briefly about his father. Probably would’ve lost his temper with his father if he wasn’t the way he was now.

Someone brought out an ice pack for Niky and told them they were free to do as they wished before leaving as quickly as they had appeared. ’Don’t waste anytime do they?,’ he thought before turning his attention to the former idol when he spoke.

He watched her interaction with Nebula bit to ensure he wouldn’t try anything. Once he was sure he wouldn’t he would continue the conversation that he was having. ”Traveling? Have you only done so for this region? Or have you also visited some of the other regions?” he inquired.

”I’m originally from Sinnoh but I left at eighteen and spend a bit of time going from one region to another before finally settling into Hoenn,” he explained. It wasn’t really the whole truth but it would work. Besides he wasn’t about to get into a discussion about his father when someone he barely knew.

Hearing what she had to say he nodded. Though a sigh did escape him at the mention of rocket. ”Seriously why can’t everyone just stop being at each others throat. I’m in now way dismissing all the things rocket has done I’m just not big on all the fighting.“[break] Evette Moreau

He couldn’t help but chuckle at her excitement. It was quite endearing how excited she was about having a new friend on her team. And considering that was the way she viewed Pokémon that said a lot about the kind of person she was. At least to him it did. Considering there were some people that only saw Pokémon as tools.

Hearing what she had to say he nodded. ”Yeah don’t want to get so much you’re weighed down,” he agreed. ”It’s good that you have enough for what you need though. If you want help finding seashells I could help with that. I might look for a conch shell for myself. I’ve always liked those.”

After successfully catching the Oshawott he would put it away before returning his attention to Desiree. ”It’s an Oshawott, it’s usually native to Unova but Pokémon that are usually only native to another region have started to appear in Hoenn,” he explained, though he wasn’t sure why himself that was. And he didn’t care enough to find out.

His own attention was momentarily grabbed by the Mareanie but he decided just to let the pinkette deal with it. While she was doing that he would take the chance to look around. It was while doing this that his gaze would land on something coming towards them. As it got closer he would make out that it was a Vaporeon.

The Vaporeon spotted them and came at them using double edge which Neptune dodged. The dual type than used dragon breath on the vaporeon which caused the Pokémon to get paralyzed. Knowing it would be harder to for the opposing Pokémon to attack he took out a pokeball and tapped the button against the water type to suck him into the pokeball.

He would then turn to see how Desiree was doing. ”Everything going okay over there?” he inquired. Hoping that things with her and the Mareanie were going well.

While he waited for rather or not the catch would be successful his new friend would toss him a water bottle which he deftly caught. As she brought up the importance of hydration he nodded in agreement before bringing the bottle to his lips and taking a sip after unscrewing the lip. ”Thanks,” he said rescrewing the lid.[break] DESIREE BLOOMS

After picking up the safari ball containing Elekid he continued on. While they were walking movement from his peripheral vision caught his attention. Pausing he looked around trying to see what had caught his attention.

His gaze would finally land on a Charcadet. After looking it over he noticed it’s eyes weren’t the normal color. Did that mean it was shiny? Before he could think to much on it it noticed them. It than charged towards Nebula with a flame charge.

Nebula wasn’t unprepared though and quickly used detect to protect himself from the attack. The attack harmless slammed into the shield Nebula had up. Unhurt Nebula would preform his own attack on the fire type. He would hit the fire type with a knock off.

Before the Charcadet could retaliate he would throw a safari ball at the wild Pokémon. It would hit and the Charcadet would be sucked into the safari ball. Now all there was to do was to wait to see if the catch after that. After that it would be time to head back considering he was out of safari balls.

While his new friend had been off catching a Pokémon he had been looking to see if he could see anything. While doing that he didn’t notice the current had pulled him deeper into the ocean. Not that it was a bad thing. Considering he was a fairly competent swimmer. Not that he planned on falling out of the saddle. But one could never be to careful.

The sound of the pinkette’s voice drew his attention away from his task and he looked up. ”Welcome back,” he said, momentarily distracted by her reappearance. Listening to her explanation he nodded. That made sense. Some people liked making catches when there were no distractions.

”It’s good that you were able to get more sea glass. You even got a new friend in the process,” he said with a small smile. Her question reminded him of what he had seen earlier and he nodded. ”It might’ve been a piece of sea glass. I’m not really sure though. The sunlight reflecting off the water made it hard to tell,” he admitted.

Before he could get to into the conversation movement from his peripheral vision caught his attention. He looked in that direction ignoring the Lotad his gaze passed over in favor of the Oshewott he spotted. It didn’t seem to be aggressive so he decided to move a bit closer.

The Oshawott noticed them and eyed them curiously but didn’t try to attack. ”You want to join my team,” he asked holding a pokeball out towards the water type. It seemed to consider his question before pushing the button that would send it in the pokeball. Now all there was to do was see if they catch would be successful or not.[break] DESIREE BLOOMS

It wasn’t long before they came across another Pokémon. This time an Elekid. The electric was definitely a Pokémon that would do well with the Pokémon he currently had. Seeing that his trainer had come to a Nebula stopped as well and eyed the Elekid who seemed to notice them at that point. Instead of attacking it just seemed curious and walked over to the dark type.

He watched as the Elekid seemed to be trying to get Nebula to play with him for a few seconds before throwing a safari ball at the distracted Pokémon. Hopefully since she had seemed interested in his Absol the electric type would allow herself to be caught.
