He was put on another assassination mission. But they were to try and get information first. Apparently it was someone who was with a group who had been giving some of their members trouble. The location of one of the members had been discovered. So they were to shake him down about the location of the location of the other members.

Like with his last assassination mission he wouldn’t be working alone. This time he would be working with someone known as Xenon Antheil. He didn’t really know the rocket that well. Having never met her before they assigned this mission. It was decided they would meet right outside of Lilycove to go over their plan of attack since their target was located in Lilycove.

Once they had gone over what they would do they would make their way to where their target made their home and detain them. Reaching the meeting place he looked around before determining he was the first to arrive. He wasn’t left to wait long and he looked at the other rocket.

”Are you ready to go over our plan?” he inquired. Once he had received a positive response he would resume speaking. ”I was thinking to contain our target while we question him I could have my Ariados bound him with toxic thread. It’ll be strong enough that he won’t be able to escape and could poison him so he won’t be as likely to try and escape if that’s the case.”

Saying this he would look to her to see what she would think. He was more use to following someone else’s plans and just doing what he was told. So giving his own input was weird. He wasn’t even sure if his plan was a good one.[break] Xenon Antheil

He fixed her with his amber gaze as she spoke. Emotions were something he struggled to comprehend. ”So it was just being friendly?” he mused though he still wasn’t sure he got it. Why would a Pokémon be friendly with him. The idea that a Pokémon would purposefully choose him was ludicrous. Except that was exactly what had happened.

”Threatened? So when they’re afraid they attack. I’ve never given much thought to why Pokémon do what they do,” he told her his gaze drifting away as he heard something else approaching. He guessed they’d been standing around talking for to long.

His gaze passed over the newly arrived Pokémon with disinterest and he ignored them in favor of going to pick up the pokeball containing his new companion. He would put it away before turning to see what the young woman would do. Keeping an eye on woman he signaled to Apollo to be ready to provide back up if she needed it.

But wouldn’t make a move until she had. He had no interest in either Pokémon. So he was perfectly fine just acting like they weren’t there. It all depended on what the young woman wanted.[break] Selena Desmarais

He watched as the pokeball shakes a few times before clicking signifying that he had caught the Mabosstiff. One glance towards the woman showed him she had been successful in her catch as well. Picking up the pokeball that contained his new partner he put it away. He would train it later.

”I’m going to keep going, feel free to join me if you want,” he told her before walking further out in the tall grass. This time he didn’t need Apollo to warn him since the Spinarak practically leapt out of the grass and latched itself to him. He looked down at the bug type holding up a hand when the Charizard started to move towards them.

It didn’t seem like it was being aggressive, so he didn’t need Apollo attacking it. Even if it was weird not to. ”Do you want to join my team?” he asked ignoring the way Apollo glared at the spider Pokémon. To show that he meant his offer he would hold an empty pokeball out towards the bug/poison type before putting it on the ground for the dual type to decide.

The Spinarak would get out of him before pushing the button allowing it to be sucked into the pokeball. ”I’ve never known a Pokémon who wanted to join without fighting,” he said his gaze fixed on the shaking pokeball. The fact a Pokémon would willingly want to join him was weird. ”It’s weird,” he said giving voice to what he thought of the situation.[break] Selena Desmarais

He would become aware of the presence of a person first. His expression would remain impassive as he regarded her. Rather or not she was league or rocket was unclear to him. Due to that he would keep his cards close to his chest. If she was league he didn’t want to let on that he was affiliated with Rocket. Or that he was an assassin for said group.

”None so far, but I’m sure it won’t be to long,” the brunette told her, making sure to add some levity into his tone to make him seem more approachable. He had seen other people do it and while he didn’t understand he had no trouble replicating it. The young man just hoped it worked since he had seen it work when he had seen it done. But while he could take emotions he could never be sure if the emotions he used were used in the right situation.

Her question gave him pause. If it was someone he knew was in rocket he would say Pokémon that could help him in his line of work. But saying something like that would just raise questions, so he couldn’t exactly say that. After all he was unsure who she had aligned herself to.

”I aim to have a diverse team,” he would settle with. Which wasn’t exactly a lie. He just wanted a diverse team that could help him with his assignments if he needed them to. He probably would’ve added more to the conversation if Apollo hadn’t alerted him to the presence of two Pokémon appearing.

Ryker would turn quickly towards the Pokémon sizing them up. A Dustox and a Mabosstiff. His main focus was on the dark type. He knew it had a pretty gentle temperament but felt he could use its protective nature to his advantage if he needed to.

”Apollo attack the Mabosstiff,” he would tell the dual type. Having his orders the charizard would hit the dark type with a flamethrower laced with enough power to make the Mabosstiff slide backwards. The canine Pokémon would then use jaw lock on Apollo but the dual type wouldn’t be fazed and would attack with dragon claw before using air slash before the Mabosstiff could even retaliate.

The whole time Ryker would just watch his sharp gaze taking in how Mabosstiff struggled to keep up with the ferocity of Apollo’s attacks. Seeing that the dark type wouldn’t be able to take much more he would call for Apollo to back off before tossing an empty pokeball towards the Mabosstiff causing it to be sucked up.[break] Selena Desmarais

Mt. Pyre wasn’t a place he had ever been to before. He had never lost any Pokémon so there wasn’t much point of him going. That’s not to say he hadn’t been curious about the place. It was a place dedicated to lost Pokémon and seeing how different people reacted to loss was intriguing. Even if he didn’t really understand such emotions.

After awhile he got tired of people watching and decided to head out the door that would take him to the path that led to summit. The summit held no interest for him. Only what was on the way to the summit interested him. Pokémon could leap out at him and he could them on. Hopefully adding more Pokémon to his party.

Considering he wanted a pretty diverse team that could help him with a job if he needed them to, he was hoping to catch Pokémon with types he didn’t have. His charizard was out just flying above him as he too kept an eye out for any Pokémon they could catch.

”Apollo, see anything?” he inquired his gaze fixed on the dual type. The dual type shook his head making him frown. ”Well we’ll just have to keep looking,” he said listening for any telltale signs of a Pokémon being nearby. He also kept an ear out for people as well.

The other guards noticing wasn’t the only problem though. Such an attack would probably catch the attention of the officers. And it would be best for them to clear out before the officers arrived. Dealing with them would definitely be a nuisance, more of a nuisance than what he wanted to deal with.

Zev seemed to see the logic of going ahead with the assassination as well and signaled for him to proceed with the assassination. His way of showing that he had seen the signal was to make his way towards their target. Without her rear guards he was able to slip up behind her undetected.

Other over friends would be none the wiser as he used another hidden blade that was still partway up his sleeve to cut open her throat. The cut would be too deep to save her life with her bleeding out in only a few seconds. Of course he would withdraw before her body even had time to hit the ground.

Sliding up beside the older male he nodded to show the job was done. Though he doubted he needed confirmation since he had watched. Now all that was left was getting away before any league officials could show up.[break] Zev Harcourt

With his eyes fixed on the target he noticed immediately that their target was heading towards his position. Catching Zev’s eye he nodded in return and waited until they had passed before making his move attacking the party from behind. He slammed the hit of his knife hard against the jaw of one of the targets friends guarding the rear instantly making him drop like a stone. He didn’t brother making sure he was alive knowing he would be.

Since he had been told not to take any other life than the targets he was going for non fatal blows. But that hadn’t said anything about not injuring them when taking them out of commission. Which is why he had more than likely broken that persons jaw the pain did the trick of knocking the person out without the risk of a fatal blow.

Despite that he took out the other rear guard with a blow to the temple and the slight rise and fall of the second guards chest told him the person was just unconscious. He had noticed that Zev had taken down one of the guards which meant there were three down. He had taken out his two without risk of being detected. However the more guards they took it out the more likely they would be noticed.

Catching his superiors eye he signaled rather or not he should continue taking out guards or just go for the target. He was sure Zev would realize the ran the risk of being noticed the more guards they took out so he wanted to know if he should take out the target before that could happen. Since he had taken out the rear guards her back would be unprotected. He could easily slip up behind her and cut her throat before her conscious friends knew what was going on.[break] Zev Harcourt

He watched as the leader finished her speech and the protestors started to move towards the street the went past the building they were on. Putting on his gas mask after his superior had donned his he waited for the older male to start the attack. And after he had donned his own gas mask Zev wasted no time in having his Genesect use poison gas.

Screams immediately filled the air and he was already on the move once he had been given the okay to move ahead. Before he descended from the top of the building he pulled the hood up over the top of his head. It was more so he could could move around the protestors unnoticed so he could reach their target uninterrupted.

After entering the cloud of poison he made his way through the protestors able to move past them unnoticed. The fact they were preoccupied with their fear of the gas attack helped. The wouldn’t notice anyone in a cloak moving around would probably just assume he was another protester or a normal civilian.

Seeing their target he moved so he would be in the woman’s blind spot and waited for his superior to give him the signal to take out their target. He knew his upbringing was strange. The young man a had been raised to be a killer from a pretty young age. And due to his upbringing he didn’t really see himself as anything but a weapon. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t capable of caring about people. It was just hard to fall Into that category with him.

Thankfully the subject moved away from his lack of knowledge about hugs and moved on to what they had been up to since they had last seen each other. Due to that he broached the topic of his mentor and hearing the older male’s response he nodded. ”I hope so as well. They told me everything I know. They’re the reason I am who I am,” he said wondering if their mentor really was alive or not.

Hearing his comment he nodded. ”Yeah, but I wouldn’t have ever done that to the gang. I figure they thought I would get tired of captivity and tell them I would join up with them,” he said with a shake of his head. Loyalty wasn’t something he just gave to anyone. Back then it had basically been first come first serve. And since his loyalty had been to Dorian and the gang back than he wasn’t about to betray that.

What he said made sense. The only other alternative was not one he wanted to think of. That one of their own had been working for the gang. So he would just ignore that possibility and agree with Dorian’s assessment. Because it was the one that didn’t have anything to do with betrayal.

”That seems mostly likely,” he agreed before he continued speaking. ”If only we had considered it was some kind of trap. But we didn’t know enough about them to know what they were truly capable of. Someone in their gang must’ve been good with strategy,” he said trying to think on who in the gang they had met during their captivity. No one in the gang had stood out as real smart but not everyone in the rival gang had met with him.

What he was saying was true. There would always be someone better out there. Or sometimes the better ones just got cocky and that ended up being the better gangs downfall. ”I feel like our rivals were the type who would let arrogance be their downfall. The underestimate another gang and get taken out because of that,” he said with a small shrug. There was no place for arrogance in their line of work for that reason.

Taking over the world was definitely something they could get behind. ”That definitely is a good thing. It’s for the best that Team Rocket is in control. I’ll do whatever is needed to ensure all regions fall into line under our control.”[break] dorian westcliff

”Hug?” he said said blankly before shaking his head. ”No, what’s the concept of one?” he asked his gaze fixed on the older male. The older males reaction led him to believe he was lacking knowledge on something he should already know. Which wasn’t that uncommon of an occurrence since he didn’t understand a lot of stuff that had to do with emotion.

Listening to what he had to say he nodded in agreement. ”Its been too long. Too long to think so one is dead,” he agreed confirming that he had thought he was dead as well. ”I figured I was the only who made it out. I tried to check on an old friend before I left but they weren’t around. I assume they thought I died as well,” he told the older male.

As he told his story he kept an eye on the other male to try and gauge his reaction. He might not be the best at understanding emotions but he was good at reading people and could somewhat understand some of the stronger emotions. Like the older males surprise about his captivity. Though even an emotion like that he didn’t understand to well.

”I got out that’s all that matters. I guess they thought I was content just to be a captive so they eventually led their guard down. It was a night with no moon and they only had two guarding me it was easy to take them both out before they could make a sound. I also knew it would be too dark for them to be comfortable for them to come after me if one were to have woken up for some reason and noticed me gone. The fact I had taken my guards out so easily would’ve made them wary as well,” he said with a small shrug like it was no big deal, and to him it probably wasn’t.

When he asked the older male about what had happened on his end he listened to rapt attention to what they said. ”Considering how careless they were with me in the end I’m surprised they were able to come up with such a strategy. Divide and conquer it’s a good strategy. They waited until we had split our gang before attacking. I wonder if they were spying on us to know that we would be on different jobs that day or if it was just a coincidence,” he told him thinking back to that day.

”It’s good you made it though, a shame for the ones that didn’t. Hopefully the gang was wiped out by another gang since we’ve been there,” he said just ignoring the fact they had struck first. Maybe because he hadn’t been a part of that attack he had been getting intel on other people that were asking to taken out by them, figuratively speaking of course.

It was still crazy that they had both ended up in Team Rocket. ”I spent the past seven years just traveling from one region to another keeping my distance from others. I’d heard rumors about Team Rocket but it wasn’t until I heard about them being in Hoenn that I decided to really settle anywhere,” he would tell Dorian.
