He couldn’t get a read on him. His expression gave nothing away. Of course Ryker didn’t have any room to talk. Showing his own emotions wasn’t something he was exactly known for. And if he did show emotions they weren’t his own. They were fake emotions since he could at least do that. But he had to be able to tell the kind of person someone was to do it.

Now that was a good question. He couldn’t just blurt out that he was looking to know more about Team Rocket. There had to be a way to ask without really asking about Team Rocket. Then he remembered something he had heard in passing once not long after he had come to Hoenn before he had decided to keep to the woods or caves to avoid people.

If he noticed the other males surprise at the fact he had responded he didn’t let on. He had just taken another bite of his sandwich with the younger male spoke up once more. Not wanting to talk with his mouthful he would wait until he had swallowed his bite of food before responding.

”If it isn’t I haven’t been told about it,” he said. It didn’t occur to him that the younger male might be teasing him. That kind of stuff went over his head. Probably had something to do with not being able to connect with his emotions.

Peering through the window he took in what the place would look like. He immediately took note of the separate groups. Even if Cillian hadn’t indicated their targets he would’ve been able to pick them out. He took note of how they looked and made sure had memorized it so he would know who to left leave and who would perish.

Moving away from the window he simply nodded before slipping away. Once he was around the side of the building he released Apollo from his pokeball before continuing to his destination. Once at the back he stationed him near the front door opening it slightly but didn’t fully open.

He kept up his guard as he allowed the civilians to come through but was prepared to engage anyone that wasn’t suppose to be let out. Luckily for the targets they had decided their best course of action was to try and take Cillian out in a Pokémon battle. The sounds of the Pokémon attacks could be heard from where he was.

It seemed he had hit some luck. The next person seemed more than willing to talk. Or to at least hear him out. And that was all he could ask for. For someone at least willing to hear him out.

It would definitely be nice if he could get a read on him. Though he knew it would be hard to do so. After all he had never been the best when it came to emotions. If hd wasn’t good at expressing them how could he be good at reading them.

His own inability to really express emotions made him a hard read. Though if one were to look closely enough they would be able to determine a lot about him. His own gaze flickered around. Looking for a place that they could use to to escape the vortex. However he wasn’t the one that noticed. That honor would have to go to Harper’s Castform. He waved the others ahead of him taking the rear as they ran towards the building.

Dorian who had taken point would check out the building. And would allow them entry in everything was okay. Though of course if Dorian came across any dangers who would make his way inside. He knew the kind of person his friend was. And it would land on him to get him out of a sticky situation if he landed himself in one.

They couldn’t take too long though and he would slip inside the building. Though not use to keeping an eye on children he would make sure to keep an eye on the young teen. Dorian seemed worried about her do the least he could do was make sure she remained safe.

This place was strange. He had never been to a place like this. And he hadn’t been with Rocket long enough to be familiar with this type of place. Of course no one would know any of this from looking at him. His expression gave nothing away as he took in their surroundings.

It would be Dorian’s voice that would draw his attention away from looking for possible threats. His gaze flickered momentarily to the teen that was with them before sliding back over to his friend. ”I practice caution when I can,” he said movement from his peripheral vision catching his attention.

His hand was already on the hilt of one of the swords that was on his person as he turned towards what had grabbed his attention. His sharp gaze immediately took in the cyclone of darkness in the distance headed their way. Considering the type of danger it was his hand fell away from the hilt of his sword. A sword would really do him any good against something like that.

Mauville city was big. Much bigger than he was use to. Then again for the past seven years he had avoided going anywhere where he might run into people. And Pyrite wasn’t exactly known for being large. So yeah being in a place so big was a new experience to him.

He did have this to say about Mauville though. With there being so many people it was easy to get lost in the crowd. He could just blend in. No one he had passed had given him a second glance. Then again no one around her would know that kind of person he was. But even then he had seemed to draw attention in a few of the other regions despite never doing anything in those places to warrant any attention. Not that he could think of anyway.

So being able to move about with his moves being scrutinized was a nice change of place. It would make it easy to succeed in what he had come to Hoenn to accomplish. He just wasn’t sure where to start. Asking around about Team Rocket didn’t seem like the best idea. There were a lot of people who opposed them. And he couldn’t just expect to run into someone from Team Rocket.

Perhaps he could disguise it as wanting to know who he should watch out for. Hmmm no that seemed to simple. Could he maybe go around asking people about a job and gauge the kind of person they were while they interacted. That didn’t seem like it would work either considering the fact he wasn’t the best when it came to emotions.

Disguising as information gathering seemed like it would be his best bet. But he would have to be subtle. A few people he tried to stop but they seemed to be too much in a hurry to really chat. It didn’t face him though and he decided to keep trying until he found someone willing to chat.

He hadn’t even gotten half way through his sandwich when movement from his peripheral vision caught his attention. He looked up just as someone sat down across from him. It wasn’t a person that he was familiar with. Of course that wasn’t real surprising, considering the fact he hadn’t really gone out of his way to interact with any of his rockets. Well outside of Dorian anyway.

It seemed the underboss was alone after all. But having a Corviknight around was one thing. Having his Charizard fly overhead like the Corviknight would bring too much attention. It would be the same thing if he allowed Apollo to walk with them. Usually if he was by himself not on an assignment he wouldn’t care. But when he wasn’t on a mission he tried to keep a low profile until he could finish his assignment.

Killing people was what he was made for, so it didn’t really faze him. And it was clear from the underbosses tone that his earlier assessment of the situation was correct. That he had been assigned this mission for skills of assassination. That was just the way it was sometimes. Sometimes crossing someone would be the last thing a person ever did.

Considering what the people who ran the place were doing it made sense. And it wouldn’t be to hard to do either. His Charizard would make of that.

He wasn’t a real big talker. Especially not when he had an assignment to do. The only thing he really cared about was getting it done. And as long as he followed directions he didn’t see how the fact he didn’t talk much was a problem. Of course the person he talked the most to would have to be Dorian.

He considered her words. Did he become aggressive when threatened? Of course the better question would be did he ever feel threatened to become aggressive? He didn’t think he did. But then again it wasn’t something he was sure about. Maybe he did and just didn’t realize it.

His attention would momentarily drift away from the conversation they were having as he watched her catch the Zweilous without fighting. He had heard those were pretty aggressive Pokémon. But she had been able to catch it without having her Pokémon deal with it. Even now he didn’t really understand.

Hearing her comment he fixed his amber gaze on her. ”Personalities? You mean emotions? I don’t under emotions,” he said impassively. It didn’t even occur to him that he should’ve said that to start with. It just wasn’t something he commonly thought about.

Seeing that she had successfully caught the Zweilous he suggested that they move on. Once she had claimed her newly acquired Pokémon he would resume walking. As he walked he would keep an eye on their surroundings. His unwavering gaze taking in everything around them.

Usually when it came to eating he would eat in his room. It saved him from having to figure out how to interact with others. That is if anyone approached him. Which hadn’t happened very often. But one couldn’t be to careful. However he just had t wanted to be in his room. Having felt a bit restless at the thought. Or whatever it was called.

His lunch consisted of a fist sandwich and some fries. Nothing too fancy. It was something pretty simple. Something that wouldn’t take to long to eat. So hopefully he wouldn’t have to hang around the dining hall for too long. And could be in and out.

Finding an empty table he went over to sit down. He took a bite of the sandwich and looked around. It didn’t seem like many people were around the dining hall at the moment. And the ones that were seemed just as content to ignore him as he was to ignore them.

The young man figured it was because they were too busy. Probably just here for a quick break. Before they had to leave for some kind of mission. That’s what he figured anyway.

However unknown to him it might be in part due to the vibes he gave off. With his face being completely devoid of emotion he came off as intimidating. Upon hearing his name he turned his attention towards the voice. Since it seemed Cillian was alone he returned Apollo to his own pokeball. It would bring less attention to see two people walking by themselves. Having Apollo trail after them would garner them too much attention. It was entirely different if he was by himself and had him out.

”Just the basics that there’s a rebellion and that it needed to be squashed in any means necessary,” he told the older male. He hadn’t needed to ask what ‘in any means necessary’ meant. There was only one reason they would bring someone like him in. And that was to wipe out the rebellion if he had to. Since he did work as an assassin something like that would be easy for him.

The underboss lit a cigarette before speaking once more. Telling him a bit more about who they were dealing with. Starlight he didn’t know much about the place except it had recently reopened and had some kind of party that had to do with them reopening. Parties weren’t really his scene so he hadn’t attended. But considering he was aware that the place was owned by a rocket he felt a loyalty to defend it against anyone who would try and do something to it.

To him it sounded like the guy was choosing to blame someone else for his own problems. ”Poor management on his part I bet. Can’t face that so he chooses to blame someone else,” he said with a shake of his head. He’d seen it to many times people not able to face their own shortcomings. To people like them they weren’t the problem everyone else was.
