It would make the most sense that Lani was their own personal tour guide for the duration of their trip, so Jasmine's suggested was easily accepted. After all, Leilani had made it a point to learn all she could about her homeland, especially since she often felt like she didn't belong back home with the Reinhardts. [break][break]

She hummed as she tapped a finger against her lips. There were plenty of places they could go, but it was narrowing it down to what to do first that would make it tricky. After all, first impressions were extremely important. While she was thinking about where to take her friends, an ever observant gaze noticed the flush on Jasmine's cheeks as she pulled her hair up quickly. [break][break]

Alola was a tropical place, the heat was similar to Hoenn but a lot different in many ways. Having spent a lot of time here, Lani was used to it, in fact it felt refreshing to be back, but for other's it could prove to be a slight annoyance. Something with good conditioning would be good, which would rule out a lot of hidden 'hole-in-the-wall' mom and pop joints that Lani had been considering. [break][break]

That was fine though, after a couple seconds more of consideration she realized that introducing them to the local hit spots right away could be overwhelming, especially for a first visit. "We got like... a beachfront grill? Bar?" Magnus asked with confirmed Leilani's decision as she stood up from the bed, she had an idea of where to lead them now. [break][break]

"Either way, wherevers good for you, I'll eat whatever. I ain't afraid of a little seafood, you feel me?" Lani snorted and nodded. "Then we'll hit up a good tourist spot first, just to stay on the safe side." She said with a wink towards Maggie before crossing the room and pulling on Jasmine's wrist gently. [break][break]

"But we'll need to freshen up first. You can have the bathroom after us." She said as she gave Jasmine a knowing look. "Oh and dress nice, yeah?" she suggested to them before gently ushering Jasmine towards her bags to grab whatever she needed for a shower. Once they had both grabbed everything they needed they'd be heading in the get ready together.

"H-how about we get coffee instead?"[break][break]

The Doctor slithered away from her grasp as she let him, crimson hues following his retreat across the room slowly, an ever present smirk resting on her plump lips. This wasn't the first time Leilani had someone that shirked away from their desires out of embarrassment. She never stayed where she was unwanted. So the reason she was having so much fun playing this game of cat and mouse with the Doctor was because she was positive he was attracted to her. [break][break]

"It's not that I'm not interested, I'd just prefer to get to know you a little more is all."[break][break]

See? Just like that. Her grin widened as she focused on him. A splash of water on his face to wake him up from his carnal desires and bring him back to his senses. She watched as the water droplets caught the light of the setting sun behind them, glistening, before being wiped away. [break][break]

"Hmm," Lani hummed as she sauntered towards him slowly, tapping her index nail against her cheek. "It's a little late for coffee don't you think?" She said with a quick glance out the window. "How about dinner and drinks then?" she suggested as she latched herself onto his arm, pressing her chest against him.[break][break]

"Then I'll tell you anything you wish to know about me." She practically purred, "Promise."

What Jack Magnus wanted he got. That much had proven to be true in all the years she'd known the man. What she hadn't expected that his little plan would get her snaked into a 'bodyguard/protection' mission. A dangerous one at that. Did Lani look like a bodyguard? Did she look like she was capable of handling all manner of unknown that would be exposed to her via crossing this rift?[break][break]

No. The answer was no. Lani was a hot piece of ass that was used to flaunting it to garner more customers to her club. She wasn't exactly well equipped to handle whatever it was that they would be doing here. Still, this had been a job that was offered to Orthrus so she needed to make sure did well. [break][break]

She'd watched her brother during all his matches in his quest to become champion like their father. She was sure she could handle the basics, after all she was a Reinhardt. Daughter to the champion of Unova. It would be shameful if she couldn't do that much. As she approached the meeting area she spied her client for the mission. [break][break]

She also wasn't expecting her client to be so...fine. Like holy shit she was hot as fuck.[break][break]

But Lani needed to relax. She wasn't here to rizz up her partner, she was here to protect her. Hopefully for both of their sakes things would be relatively easy for the both of them. Maybe after it was all over she could attempt to get her number or something. "did they tell you much of today's expedition?"

Her voice snapped Lani out from her thoughts. "Mmm, they gave me some general information on what to expect and my job but nothing more than that. Apologies."

Lani had been working her ass off for the longest time. Hustle after hustle, gig after gig. She was booked and busy and when she wasn't working to make sure she was bringing in a steady flow of clients to Olympus she was recruiting for more hands on deck. If she wasn't doing the two of those things she found herself getting into all kinds of trouble around the region. [break][break]

Either way, it felt like she had been on 'Go' for the longest time and she hadn't managed to find a moment to pause and relax. Which is exactly why it surprised her when Magnus told her and Jazz they needed to pack because they were going on a trip. He didn't give them much information but once they reached their airport she knew. [break][break]

Lani hadn't been to Alola since her little sabbatical back when she was in Uni in Unova. She had no idea how much she truly missed her 'home' until she was back here. Then again, her actual 'home' where she was born and her parents were buried was on another Island than where they were but nonetheless, it felt wonderful to be back. [break][break]

The moment she stepped off the plane she had taken a moment to soak in the sun and smell the salted sea breeze. Once Magnus led them to their room and Lani had managed to set her suitcases down she plopped down on the bed with a satisfied huff and bounce. "Alright, babes. What first? Beach time? Lazy river? Test the waterbed with a lot less lazy, but a river runnin' all the same? Shopping on the oceanfront? ... river?"[break][break]

As if on cue Lani's stomach rumbled softly as she laughed as she patted her stomach. "How about something to eat?" she asked her friends. "I know some nice places unless you have something planned?" she said as she turned towards Magnus.

She sat patiently and quietly while the fine doctor measured her blood pressure. It wasn't so bad for Lani, she got to enjoy a good view while he focused on his work. Her smirk stayed plastered on her features all the while. "112/65, looks good. Means you're maintaining fair health. I take it you exercise a fair amount and maintain a healthy diet?"[break][break]

"Mhmm," she practically purred. "I do make it a habit to fit plenty of cardio into my routine." she said with a playful wink flashed at him. "I eat my fruits and veggies too." she chuckled lightly. Her hungry gaze followed the doctor as he made his way across the room to wash his hands. [break][break]

His noticeably late flush didn't go unnoticed by Lani. A cough as he attempted to regain his composure further cemented the fact that he was quite flustered. In fact, it just further encouraged her. This man was simply adorable and she felt the urge to continue teasing him just like this.[break][break]

He turned to lean against the counter and focused his gaze on her. His pose and gaze sent a shiver down Lani's spine as she resisted the urge to swiftly close the distance between the two. Her thirst levels rising. "I'm sorry, Lani, I just realized what you meant. I, uh... Well, you're quite lovely but I'd rather not pursue anything of that fashion in my office."[break][break]

Lani gently bit the nail of her index finger as she tilted her head at the doctor. A soft rebuttal but it hadn't exactly been a no. This meant she could still work her magic. A mischievous grin tugged at the corners of her lips as she looked back at Virgil. "Hmm," she said as she slowly slid off the examination table and closed the distance between them. [break][break]

"So it's a no as long as we're in here?" she said as her slender fingers began to snake up to his tie. "I don't mind." she said with playful glint in her eye. "Sure, a little sad we won't get to roleplay out anything here but..." she said as she smoothly adjusted his tie and fixed his collar. "I can think of plenty of fun things to do at my place." she whispered.

Lani was right. This guy was a VIP for sure. Not that she wasn't used to snaking in and getting that sort of treatment, this place he had whisked her away to was way better than where she had been with the guy she came here with. Sea and Space collided into a beautiful collage of ethereal colors before her eyes. [break][break]

While the lights here were dim, it offered a seductive and intimate seclusion from the rest of the bass thumping sweaty chaos they had come from. Lani had decided to match his drink of choice, opting for a Stella as well. The drink tasted better than what she had been enjoying previously so that was a plus. [break][break]

"I never did catch your name," the man responds smoothly to her. She can feel the presence of his arm over the back of the couch behind her. Shifting to cross her leg over the other she wears a soft smile as she brings her own drink to her lips. Before she could point out the fact that she didn't know his name either, he introduced himself.[break][break]

"I'm Remiel. Remiel Calcifet."[break][break]

Now why did that name sound familiar? A soft humming sound came from her glass as Lani gently ran her finger across the rim in circles. Ah that's right...the former Galarian Ambassador and crown prince of Galar. She'd seen some recent news articles in passing with his name featured on them. But she never really paid it much mind. After all, Lani wasn't one to stick her knows into politics, she was otherwise preoccupied with running a successful club of her own. [break][break]

"Oh no," she said as she brought a small hand to her lips. "It would seem I've inconvenienced someone important. Sorry again." she said with a sheepish smile. "I'm Leilani by the way but feel free to call me Lani, all my friends do."

"What about you? You tryin' to get me sprung right here?" Maggie asks her which just has her giggle in response. His big strong hands snake down her body before scooping her up with ease into his arms. Leilani flicked a piece of her hair over her shoulder with her wrist as a confident smile adorned her lips. "Well, you know me. Dancing is in my blood." she said with a simple shrug. "Though it has been a while since I've done the salsa so I am a touch rusty." she admitted. "We got a few hours here. I ain't done till my legs are burnin'." Lani patted his arm so that he could set her down. [break][break]

"Sounds good to me. I can dance all night long, baby." she grinned as he extending a hand towards her. "Shall we, princess?" Lani takes his hand and nods. Just like that, the music begins to thump and play throughout the small studio once more and Magnus and Lani are back at it. They practically fly across the floor as they begin to pick up speed. [break][break]

The longer the pair practiced the easier it all became for them, after all they were ridiculously fast learners. The Instructor was getting a front row seat of this as he stared at them in disbelief. He didn't have anything left to truly teach them as they had not only taken his corrections as they continued to dance but also learned to add in their own personal flair to the dance. [break][break]

Lani was having so much fun. Her face was flushed from the heat of the cardio they were working up but she didn't mind. It'd been a long time since she was so excited to dance like this so she was thoroughly enjoying her time with Magnus. He lead her beautifully to the point their pace became so in sync it felt like they were just one person.

Love was complicated.[break][break]

The things it made people do. How it changed them. It was all too complex for Leilani to even begin to properly understand what was going on. For as long as she can remember she's enjoyed some semblance of control in her life that she finds it hard to give up. Perhaps it was why she was so scared of love in the first place. [break][break]

If she ever really fell in love then she would've have to give up control, surrender to it, leaving her life in the hands of fate like that terrified her. But truly, perhaps what scared her the most was the possibility of rejection. She could be turned into a fool for love, change herself completely for the one she loved just to possibly have her heart crushed in the end. [break][break]

That's right, the biggest fear she's ever had was the fear of being unwanted.[break][break]

Despite how their conversation brought back that aching revelation, Leilani's features didn't reflect the inner turmoil at all. Instead her eyes closed for a moment, "Hmm," she hummed. "I think I can understand that a bit." she said softly as she thought back to how she'd been back in Unova when she was still attending University. [break][break]

"I realized a long time ago that the harder I tried to make everything perfect the more it seemed I was choking the life out of everything around me." She said as they continued to sway, their pace slowing as the song began to ultimately come to and end. "I was so focused on the product that I was missing out on everything around me." [break][break]

She said as she finally opened her eyes once more. Sanguine orbs staring into his own pools. "So now instead of stressing over the future or if hyperfixating on controlling every little thing..." she said as she gently reached up to caress his cheek with a grin. "I focus on the present, allowing the wind to carry me where she may." she said before chuckling.[break][break]

"Thanks for the dance, rocker boy. You weren't so bad." Lani said with a nod as the song they had been dancing to finally ended.

"The older I get, the more I achieve, the less I realize I know what I want."[break][break]

It's the truest most vulnerable response that she's heard in a long while. And honest, Lani hadn't expected it to come from him. Callan went on the further describe his current outlook and Lani couldn't help but sympathize, after all it was relatable. She too had felt like that once upon a time. [break][break]

It wasn't until she found new purpose within Orthrus that her life finally felt like it had some color to it again. After so many years of drifting by in black and white. "You just have to find something worth fighting for, that's all." Lani said softly to him. "Though the trick is to not look too hard for it." she continued as she thought back to her earlier days of wandering around in Unova helplessly. "Something worthwhile will eventually fall into your lap. You just need to make sure you're ready for when it does." [break][break]

He wasn't looking or asking for advice but this was the best she could offer him as someone who had gone through something similar for a while herself. "Then what happens when a man becomes accustomed to the woman, or vice versa? Does the mystery and joy go away?" Callan asked, returning towards their other conversation. [break][break]

"And what does that make of beauty and the butterflies it inspires, if we become accustomed to it, does it lose its value?" Lani chuckled as she leaned against Callan while they danced. "Just because something is fleeting doesn't make it any less beautiful or valuable." She said with a smile. "If anything, I think it's the opposite. It's value and beauty increases." she continued, her voice a whisper for only Callan to hear. [break][break]

"As for growing accustomed to the feeling, well, I guess that's up to the person whether they mystery stays or fades." Lani hummed. "After all many who find themselves in love stay because those feelings persist even after years pass." she says before a light chuckle escapes her lips, "Though I can't say I relate to that much." After all, the concept of love still eluded Leilani to this day.

Leilani knew today was a big day for the gang. The first official meeting in a while. So, of course she was late.[break][break]

Listen, she wasn't being a rebel on purpose. There was a method to the madness. She was excited for the meeting and so she wanted to help make the crew comfortable if she could. So that meant she was headed out to grab some grub for the boys. What meeting would be complete without something to stuff your face with. [break][break]

Lani just hadn't anticipated how long it would take her to get back to the hideout. Her keys jingling in her hands she balanced stacks of pizza in one hand and fresh donut boxes in the other. As she shimmied her way into the room she sighed. "You won't believe the shit I had to go through to get these." she grumbled as she nodded at everyone. [break][break]

Placing the pizza and donut boxes down on the table. She'd caught the tail end of what @marshall was saying. Needing some people with charisma and good sense and all that. But when Leilani really thought about it, who fit that bill the best other than her and Jasmine Blair? Plopping down and snuggling close to the doc (@virgil) after snagging a water bottle for herself she scoffed. [break][break]

It didn't take a rocket scientist to put some pieces together, even if she hadn't been here from the beginning. She did know Maggie and the ideas he'd been ruminating on for the gang for a while. Twisting the cap off her water bottle and popping off with a flick of her nail, Lani quickly downed half of it in a matter of seconds. [break][break]

The condensation dripped down her mouth and her jaw, but that didn't stop her from enjoying the refreshing coolness of her drink. Placing it on the table she wiped at the corner of her mouth with her thumb. "S'all well and good, but wouldn't the best people to handle those tasks be me and Jazzy?" Lani said with a slight frown. [break][break]

"I know we're often seen with Magnus but I think some carefully crafted story could clean that up right away." Lani said with a tilt of her head. "Besides, I know for a fact both of us make a habit to meet up with plenty of people. That could aid in a cover-up story." After all, Jasmine Blair and Lani were cut from the same cloth. [break][break]

They both liked to fool around so Magnus wasn't the only piece of ass that they chased. For once, that could work out in their favor if they wanted to really nail this thing. Lani couldn't think of too many people that would be able to successfully get this done than the hottest hostesses at Olympus.

The checkup was just a ruse.

In reality, Lani just wanted to check out their new doc and see if he could check her out while she was at it. She was always like this with every new arrival. She was interested in how they ticked and what their desires were. It was her way of running checks on the newer members herself, even though she was sure they were acceptable, after all they managed to join in one piece right?[break][break]

Lani had been chewing gum and filing her nails outside in the 'waiting room' till the doc was finished. The sounds from within the room didn't bother her much, she was used to seeing a lot of shit. After all, she'd been with Orthrus for many years now. "Reinhardt, Leilani?" With a pop of her gum she entered the study with a smirk playing on her lips. "In the flesh." she replied. [break][break]

Older, more seasoned and mature. That's what Virgil looked like to Lani. Leilani, of course, didn't mind. In fact, when she would usually pursue a fling, someone older always managed to be someone she enjoyed her time with for a little longer. They just knew how to handle her better. The doctor looked exhausted but he still greeted her with a polite smile. [break][break]

"Miss Reinhardt, go ahead and have a seat. My name's Dr. Callaghan, but feel free to call me Virgil. Chuffed to meet you. Tell me what you're in for." Lani gave him another quick glance over before sauntering to her spot like she was instructed. She took a seat, crossing her legs while maintaining eye contact with the doctor. [break][break]

"Call me Lani, doc." She said as she twirled a piece of her long hair around her finger. "Or babe, whatever suits your fancy." she said with a playful grin. "I'm just here to establish connection. Perhaps have a little physical." she said with a bite of her lip. "Whatever you feel up to though."

Leilani wasn't new to games like these, so she could tell she had him on hook by how his eyes lingered on her. "It's no problem, really. I shouldn't be on the floor with a drink in hand anyway." he finally managed after a few moments of stunned silence. Leilani shook her head as if to disagree. "No no, I'm just a klutz--" she began to protest.[break][break]

He reaches out to pause her hand that attempted to clean him with her shawl. "You shouldn't spoil such a beautiful shawl on the likes me, you know. I'm the one who truly owes you a drink after all. That is... if your boyfriend doesn't mind?" he offered as he leaned in closer to her. [break][break]

Glancing up at him with big doe eyes, Leilani shook her head. "It's no trouble, truly. A shawl can be cleaned. And...there's no boyfriend, so you should be fine." she said with a small smile. "Though perhaps we could buy each other a drink and call it even?" she suggested with a light chuckle.

Magnus' hand that gripped her waist was possessive, she could tell in how tightly he held her close to him. "Damn right, I can." was his reply. Leilani's smirk and slight shoulder shrug was a tease, a challenge to see if he could live up to those bold words he had just proclaimed. [break][break]

Once the music started though, she was quick to eat those thoughts as she followed Maggie's lead as their salsa raised the temperature of the room. Magnus wasn't just going through the motions. Sure it was a little sloppy here and there, but Magnus wasn't really a dancer so Leilani wasn't expecting much. But what he was actually doing was quite impressive considering as far as Lani knew, this was his first time doing something like this. [break][break]

So he had picked all of this up just from watching the instructor? Not to mention, he was actively adapting his performance while the instructor barked orders at him. That sort of corrective discipline was a talent not everyone was born with. While they dipped and tangoed Lani found herself laughing as they spun around the room. [break][break]

Dancing with the instructor had been fun, but sure enough nothing compared to having fun with Magnus. Because Magnus was doing so well, Lani began to add her own flair and sexiness to the moves. Making it completely her own instead of just following instruction. After all, that's what dance was all about, self expression and confidence. [break][break]

When the music finally died down the pair were left slightly sweaty and out of breath but nonetheless, Lani had the biggest, brightest grin on her face for the first time in a long while. She quickly closed the distance between them to hug and latch onto Magnus as she giggled. "You did so well! What the heck Maggie?" she said as she gripped his face between her hands. "You sure this is your first time?"
