The sun had long set over the city by the time Anahel made her way onto the streets. She had finally made it...[BREAK][BREAK]

SOME TIME BEFORE . . .[BREAK][BREAK]

A girl kneeled in front of the ruins of a small house. Anguish from her heart resonated with the gasp of air she took between cries. She echo'd through the area. The only one to hear her was an inconspicuous man. He approached her with an offer. "Can things change?" She asked, contemplating what he just told her. The man declined to answer, only to hand her a card and begin to walk away. "That is for you to decide," he muttered to himself with a smirk before disappearing.[BREAK][BREAK]

BACK TO THE PRESENT . . .[BREAK][BREAK]

The card led Ana to the Burning Maw, a night club in Rustboro City. Entering the building, she avoided eye contact with anyone who may have been looking her way. Approaching the bar, she looked down at the card, it had a strange phrase written on its back.[BREAK][BREAK]

She flagged down the bartender and revealed the card to him. The man stared at her for a second, then whispered to another employee besides him.[BREAK][BREAK]

A few moments passed. A large man, nearly twice the height of Anahel, approached her. He directed her to follow him to the back before opening the door. Taking a deep breath, the girl made their entrance, prepared for whatever was to come.[BREAK][BREAK]

The time had finally come for Anahel's first mission. Reading over the report, she was to watch over a rocket hideout and keep it secured incase raiders appeared. She was assigned along with a superior member named Zev. From her first glance at him, he seemed to be the serious and straight to business type. [break][break]
Upon entering the hideout, Ana found the storage areas where the pokèmon were kept. There seemed to be a very large supply of goods here. It was no shocker that these locations have been getting targeted.

Arriving back at the main hall, Zev began to give her a run through of the building. Her assumption regarding the seriousness of this guy was confirmed by his tone of voice and straight to the point attitude.[break][break]
"I have Froslass, Surskit, and Kirlia," she answered. This was the first chance she had gotten to get a good look at the man's face. His eyes perplexed the girl, they were difficult the read but gave a stare that made her feel insignificant. [break][break]
Anahel's frail appearance tended to enable other's to look down on her or assume she wasn't capable. She would not have been surprised if he thought of her as fodder that was only there to get in the way.[break][break]
Ana released Surskit and Kirlia, one for each floor of the hideout. "I'm sure these two will suffice for now."

Anahel quietly followed being Temp as he led the way through the terrain. Her shins were mildly roughed up from the land, but nothing that would phase her enough to show it on their face. Her eyes stayed locked onto Temp, wondering what he had planned by asking her to come with him.[break][break]
The silence amongst the two was broken by Temp's declaration of a break. Ana nodded obediently before turning behind to see if her Surskit was behaving. The little bug scurried past the two before jumping onto the small body of water. They began skidding back and forth on it, much to their own enjoyment.[break][break]
The playful and energetic pokèmon made a stark contrast to Ana's plain and emotionless demeanor.[BREAK][BREAK]
She turned to Temp as he thanked her for coming along on his hike. The girl did not return a smile to man, not out of rudeness or a lack of interest, but because she was still unsure what his plan was by coming out here. [break][break]

"I'm merely following the orders of my superior," she said referring to Temp himself. "I don't know why you are thanking me." Her words may have come off cold, but that was not her intent. Sadly, Ana doesn't have a good way of talking to others without an objective. "So, what is it exactly that we are doing out here?"

It was that time of the afternoon where the sun began its journey back down to the horizon. The sky was still blue, but soon an orange glow would begin to cast down on those below.[break][break]

Anahel wasn't in the mood to be surrounded by the chatter of other's, and waited until most made their way inside before venturing out by the water. Pulling her arms back, she felt a release of tension come from her shoulders. "I'm sorry. I know it's been awhile since I let you out like this." Ana muttered to her pokèball as she released Surskit out onto the water. Gesturing her finger in a circle, she assured him it was fine to play. "Go on." [break][break]

The Surskit would joyfully start skidding on top of the water back and forth. Seeing how content they were brought a small smile to her face. She always did feel the most at peace while alone with her pokémon, something she rarely had the opportunity for as of late.
