Ameena frowned at Amor's comment about getting the board to agree. "Surely, what is looming is going to be unanimous? If this acquisition is happening, it must be because it is necessary?" She had little insight to the inner workings of the upper echelons of Rocket. She knew several superior officers like those beside her, but she was not involved in the politics related to the large decisions. [break][break]

She didn't like the implications of any disagreements. It caused her to believe that there was a chance the acquisition could be motivated by greed or hunger for power rather than a more tactical line of thinking. If the invasion was going to happen, they risked all of Hoenn turning into a Kanto situation; there was no guarantee it would be a relatively isolated battle - it could absolutely spark a full-on war. [break][break]

Her only opportunity for a better insight was right here with two men that had the ability to know what was talked about in the war room. "Is this going to be like the..." How does one refer to Kanto? "incident with previous ambitious leadership?" The push from several Rockets for her to grow her strength might have been far more dire than she'd initially taken the advice.

She couldn't fault Spectra's intrigue with nightmares. It was in her best interest to play with such simulations herself, given that interdream mist was unpredictably emitting throughout the region. Who knew when she would be next exposed to it? If she was surrounded by League enforcers, it could be just the thing that ends her career, barring a little prison break. [break][break]

"I have not experimented much with nightmares," she confessed. "I am interested to see what they have gathered from such experience." She reasoned that nightmares were just unfortunate worlds accessed through the dream realm; she had no reason to suspect they were different from dreams at their core since they both activated the same area of the brain when unconscious. She had little interest in the fears of others. What they wanted was more important, especially if desire played a part in selecting a multiverse. [break][break]

She finished off her tea. "I appreciate you allowing my interrogation today," she said lightly, aware she asked far too many questions. "Sometimes, it feels like pulling teeth to get an honest observation about the region, but I can always trust your candor." Not to mention that Lulu really seemed unflappable compared to Ameena's own anxiety about the looming threats. She didn't want another Kanto. The resources dedicated to such battle would only slow her progress.

Origin point was an interesting explanation for the oddities that plagued Hoenn. If the Megalopolans and DRK Triad were both right about this universe being so special, it also meant this was the best opportunity (the only opportunity?) to break into the dream realm and traverse it fully. If all the energy and disaster concentrated in Hoenn meant something, it meant this was her shot. She couldn't afford to not take it. [break][break]

"I have not worked on any Spectra projects, but I have faced a simulation of an Avatar wielding their power. It is... daunting." How could a normal person keep pace with someone aligned with a god? Hell, how could a normal person keep pace with a god? They were abundant here. The recent pushes for Ameena to grow stronger were anxiety-inducing. [break][break]

"Is it worth it?" She wasn't sure if she had much to offer SPECTRA. She did really need to get her team's strength up to par. "I should be doing whatever it takes to prepare for all of these threats, but it feels impossible to stay on top of everything. But I suppose I should stop being defeatist. I will do what it takes to hold my own." She hoped so, at least. "Do you work with Spectra often?"

The rendezvous was the base they had set up last time. Ameena waited patiently for the redheaded Ranger and her trusty dragon. "My sensors detect some machinery just a mile up," she said, getting straight to business. "It is displaying an unusual electrical signature." That said a lot and nothing at all, given their environment. It had not looked like a Xurkitree's usual electrical pattern, however. [break][break]

"If you are prepared, we can set off. I trust things have been well since we last visited?" Small talk used to be impossible. She had not learned it in the military. Instead, fleeing Galar to study the dream realm had taught her that other researchers were more open to collaboration if you were friendly. It was interesting - the poorer scientists, tied up in morals and ethics, were personable beyond belief, but the genuinely effective scientists she met in Rocket, like and , were not so qualified in personality. [break][break]

Hell, the latter had been ready to strike her down in Area Zero before she explicitly identified herself as a Rocket. [break][break]

Ameena wanted a longer collaboration with the little Ranger and to get in that head for potential secrets. A little conversation was a small price to pay to sink her claws into the unsuspecting Leaguer.

Perhaps it was childish, but she couldn't help the feeling of joy at his visible confusion. She was a notably ambitious woman. Still, she could see how this could be pushing her luck. And yet... "Anything you give willingly is not a reward, professor. This is really a test. I hope you do not believe I am so easily satisfied." Though, she was pleased to have a similar pokemon to his. She would have to really work on its strength in order to challenge him on honed tools. [break][break]

She was glad to see him entertain her so far. She would pass and she would have a request ready... though the latter might be more difficult than the former. [break][break]

As impossible as this situation was, she knew she could put her chips on Amor. He had yet to let her down, and his mind worked in ways she would likely never understand. She was confident in him far more than a prophetic deity or an execution of dreaming and manifesting that she was unfamiliar with witnessing. [break][break]

"I believe in you," she said earnestly. "If not this way, then another." She was used to saving herself. Having soared through the military ranks, she had to protect herself, her squads, and her own image from the doubters amongst her family that preyed on her downfall once they realized she was genuinely capable of upending their world. It was odd to keep finding herself collaborating with such a capable mind. [break][break]

As he bemoaned the waking world, she playfully knocked a hand against his shoulder, slow enough for him to sidestep. "Relax. I promise to haunt your dreams, should anything happen." She smiled with teeth as she felt the weight of consciousness drag her away from the metropolitan setting.

Amor was right. Azelf was the answer. [break][break]

She is empowered. [break][break]

She gains the ability to whip her chains around, which splinter in twines not unlike Deoxys' feelers. The chains are filled with a feverish, dream-like energy. Upon contact with a Megalopolan guard, they fall into a deep slumber. "Do not hold back!" Ameena roars among the sounds of battle. The clash between those seeking freedom and those seeking oppressive regime is a loud, vicious, and endless one. [break][break]

An adrenaline-filled war cry escapes her as she knocks guards out left and right. Azelf was the answer. Once she found herself in a pocket without any guards on her, she began to strike the ground. The lake was underneath, right? Azelf was close? She would do anything to free their little prophet.

"Good answer," she praised with a sharkish smile. He was such an interesting specimen with his history of otherworldly events. She knew only the broad strokes of his story, but he was ideal for testing her theory. "I watch the entire time, so I can have Musharna eat the dream immediately and end it if needbe." Musharna loved them, anyways; sometimes, it was difficult to get her to wait. [break][break]

"Raw interdream mist, to my understanding, can pull the psyches of your pokemon in, but there is no reason for it for my purposes. You can manifest dream iterations of your pokemon with the same strength - or more. I have summoned Deoxys in a dream of mine. There are few limits, but we have not fully explored the boundaries to know where they end." Everyone had had power fantasy dreams before, but it was hard to know what impact those had on the dream realm itself. [break][break]

She takes note of their stiff body language. They're stiff like a board, but she sees their expression continue to twist in pain. Whatever door their mind has chosen to walk through, it hurts. Indeed, Ameena is confident they are revisiting their memories. [break][break]

She waits for the kid to finally relax, for their breath to even out. "There we go," she murmured, turning to look at Musharna. Her pokemon understands, and spews further dream mist. Ameena wants to see where they will end up in their head if they've just confronted some sort of demon. What is missing? [break][break]

They are spelunking in their own mind, and the additional mist will keep them from coming out until they have seen what they want to see. Ameena is eager for Musharna to eat this dream and relay the data.

Ameena worried her lip as Elisabeth laid it out like it was simple. She was concerned about vengeance as a shared motive, and she was further worried about it being about a single person. If that was the core of their unity, what would happen when the goal was accomplished? Or if it couldn't be accomplished? Or if Elisabeth's own feelings changed in a positive direction, opposite of the Tapu's? [break][break]

Well. It wasn't her concern. Elisabeth had never given a single inkling that she could not handle herself and her two gods. Ameena didn't need to insert herself any further into the underboss' business. "I am not so concerned for Rocket. I have spent some time getting to witness our strength and our diverse powers first-hand... I just worry for you, but I trust you are uniquely capable. More specifically, I just think of your pscyhe."[break][break]

Ameena wasn't sure how to describe her concerns without sounding like she doubted Elisabeth. "In any case, I have some new threads to chase. If you are ever interested in a more controlled walk through your subconscious, I would love to help facilitate. One of my theories is that the divine energy, like otherworldly energy, can uniquely attract certain outcomes or pocket universes in the dream realm, so - sorry. Let me not bore you. But if you have any interest at all, I am eager to assist."
