Thankfully, Roze had been spared of the madness surrounding the Woopocalypse that had been infesting the Stakatakameka not so far away from where she'd been, not a single Woop or Sire rising from the depths to disturb her peace of mind any further. Her little moment of relaxation had settled once more to much more tranquil times.[break][break]

A breaching of the water from all three of her Water-types had been what had finally woke her Tyrunt from his nap, the gentle rocking of the waves disturbed by their appearance. The fossil hadn't been upset at least, happy to see his friends as they'd playfully splashed water at one another.[break][break]

It hadn't really been that long since Roze had met the sheriff of Dewford, the man who'd solved her rather unfortunate plate predicament. While it might have made sense that he'd be here, considering the relatively close proximity of Sea Mauville to Dewford, Roze'd still been happily surprised to have found herself working alongside the man to help with the Sea Mauville problem.[break][break]

The duo'd found themselves responding to an issue in particular, a larger pokémon residing within the dilapidated complex had grown agitated by the sudden shift in its environment, rampaging and dissuading other volunteers from being able to work any further in the area, blocking access to a key entrance and some other important rooms in the complex from an open section of the Sea Mauville. There'd been a further problem that it seemed a handful of other wild pokémon had been trapped by the wild pokémon in question.[break][break]

"We ought to assess the situation, right, Navy?" she'd asked with a cheery smile, happy and relieved to have a familiar face around for this particular mission. The conservationist had let out her Talonflame, and with a quick, fairly quiet signalling whistle, she'd given her instructions which had been met with a nod, as the Talonflame soared high overhead, giving the duo a bird's eye view to report back to them after a brief moment.

Roze was mindful to help the young girl avoid falling in the water, and she'd had a few pokémon on her person ready to save Eris should the worst happen, so she'd been more than happy to rely on the girl despite the handicap, quite thrilled in fact with the help the young girl could offer.[break][break]

"Actually, that might just be the ticket," she'd clicked her fingers, a bright smile on her face, a Dhelmise's strength and flexibility with its appendages might be the perfect way to keep this part from sinking alongside the rest of the complex and keep the area safe.[break][break]

"Good thinking, Miss Eris," she'd further commented, her Dugtrio had risen back from the initial hole it had bored, puffing with pride to signify that he'd succeeded in creating a tunnel to help create an escape route for the residents of the little lagoon, yet still small enough that it wouldn't compromise the entire existence of the lagoon.

Though she'd found herself puzzled by his statement, "hm, can't quite say that I have, actually, I'd been meaning to beforehand, yet never had the time for it," she'd answered, though she'd added some further assurance, "it'd be good to learn how to effectively tread water and float though, that is if it isn't a crippling fear," she'd noted happily, "if it's not too much trouble I'd be happy to help if you don't have someone else to rely on for that," she'd offered with a saintly smile—even if the boy couldn't see it for himself, she'd hoped she'd managed to infer it successfully enough.[break][break]

"though, I wonder where Allende is..." she'd commented, cocking her head ever so slightly to the left, only to overhear a distant little proud cry from the pokémon in question, followed by a rather loud echoing of something metal crunching and folding.[break][break]

Roze's Clefairy had overheard the sound of pokémon, and being the rambunctious little fairy that she was, had utilised her Fire Punch to straight up bust down the steel door when she couldn't quite manage to open it the normal way, behind it had been a mixture of pokémon, not just Ghost-types, but a variety of other pokémon that preferred the dark that had seemed to have been trapped in the room when falling debris had piled up and caved over the doorway.

It's a haunting sight to bear witness upon, even from this small area just outside of Petalburg—even with the poor visibility from the toxic sands flitting about—claven stone wrought upon land, horrific damage done that would uproot flora and manmade structure alike, uncaring footfalls of men and monsters, what distinction really was there between the two at this point? Roze's heart sank, damage was being done, and there wasn't anything she could do to stop it.[break][break]

Yet another reminder that she's still far too weak to solve anything, far too weak to help those who might need it, far too weak to accomplish little more than survive. She might yet fail that one simple task too, her body felt worse for wear, the toxic sands were wearing her down, she could feel that something was physically wrong, her breath hastening her still working arm beginning to feel numb and prickly all at the same time. Even with the assistance of her Clefairy who'd been trying to help recover both Hideo and Roze herself, she'd felt tired, and her breathing felt hoarse.[break][break]

Telepathic visions flashed through her mind at the behest of Hideo's Uxie, without any prior knowledge, she'd barely understood what exactly they had meant, only that the dangerous creature they'd so briefly encountered and failed to route was far more tenacious than they'd already believed it to be. There was so much more Roze would have to learn in coming times.[break][break]

What was there she could do here? She'd been in Petalburg simply for a health check up due to her injured arm, her being caught in the crossfire and being captured by howard slayte was a mistake. She'd been helped by Eduardo Hisakawa and Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki, and what did she do to thank them? She was about to burden another. She'd grit her teeth, yet with her body feeling weary, she couldn't even feel the friction of her frown. Another thought had flashed through her mind, were those two alright? Was Howard? The three of them were stronger than her, braver, even if one was misguided, all three fought for their own righteous causes and had acquired great strength—and must have sacrificed so much to attain it—to continue on their paths.[break][break]

Yet, here was Roze Falkner, a collateral, a bystander, a young woman who'd found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time.[break][break]

As Hideo had called out that the two would need to make their escape, his voice had been like a jolt, something to rouse Roze from her panic and self-pity, something to focus on to try and cut through the numbing poison eating away at her strength, she'd wanted to say something, anything to help reassure, him, something to keep both of them brave. She'd wracked her mind for an answer, she wasn't used to this, perhaps she had taken Navy's warning too lightly. Nothing that came to mind seemed correct.[break][break]

Yet before it was too late, Roze ultimately couldn't help save the two of them, the boy's own... strange Alakazam seemed to be their saviour, in the end. Without being able to speak a word, Roze had meekly nodded and stepped closer, returning her Clefairy to her poké ball such that the little pixie wouldn't be left behind.[break][break]

In the blink of an eye, Roze had found herself in an unfamiliar town, she'd trusted Hideo that this was a safe place, and she'd relaxed, letting out a soft, yet long exhale, as if a burden had been lifted from her, she'd stumbled for a moment, only to keep herself steady and carefully sit down, already starting to feel better outside of the toxic sandstorm, yet still feeling somewhat ill.[break][break]

"I'll be fine... I just... need to catch my breath," she'd commented, hoping to avoid causing any worry for Hideo, she'd need a moment to relax and think things through, despite having come from a far more panicked state, Roze understood she'd need to do more, if she really wanted to make a difference. Ideals only went so far, that was a lesson she'd learnt today.

Despite the odd events that had transpired, and the long pause of time that had stretched as Roze had processed just what she'd witnessed, yet, some things just couldn't be explained with logic and theory. Whatever had transpired had been more than she was willing to try to comprehend, lest madness gnaw at her mind.[break][break]

With a soft clap of her hands together and a tried smile, Roze had noted that she'd need to buy a new oxygen tank, as hers had just mysteriously vanished, she'd peered back into the dark depths, a small part of her wondering if there were any more of those smiling anomalies waiting in the deep dark blue, though Roze had pre-occupied herself with trying to imagine whatever misadventures her pokémon were on as they dove.

Roze had been most surely kept away as the Okidogi had thrown its tantrum before making its escape, a look of worry on her face—the creature had suffered quite a horrifying blow yet, it had shrugged it off despite that. There'd been a touch of concern from Roze's side, even if the creature had been their enemy, perhaps they'd gone too far, yet, having not been present for the affairs the other two had been a part of, there was no way for Roze to fathom its fortitude nor its cruelty.[break][break]

Not until, words echoed in her mind, most certainly not thoughts of her own, new information, the only hint Roze had that she hadn't gone crazy a knowing look from the presumed psychic-type that seemed to be tied to the young man she'd been acquainted with.[break][break]

There was a part of her that felt glad they hadn't outright snuffed out a life, yet, it was strange and haunting to hear that this mysterious chain perpetuated its life.[break][break]

"A little worse for wear, but nothing serious," Roze had replied to Andrea, she'd looked over their small group and their pokémon, returning her Quaquaval to his ball with a soft smile his way. With a soft dulcet whistle, she'd released her Clefairy from her ball, giving a quick voiceless request which the Clefairy had happily answered, offering a soothing Life Dew to help assuage any injuries.[break][break]

Yet, the mystery girl and her strange little friend had hurried off to chase the revenant dog, Roze had stayed back with Hideo, though she'd called out, "don't do anything dangerous!" to Andrea before she'd disappeared amongst the poisoned sands.

All things considered, the last thing Roze had considered was the Wooper in front of her actually managing to bore a hole through her oxygen cylinder, yet a rather terrifyingly crack echoes throughout the small atoll. Roze blinked a handful times further, as a loud hissing noise followed.[break][break]

The Wooper seemed determined, its goofy mouth still thoroughly sunk around the oxygen cylinder, and beyond all, it began to rise. A glorious idol towards ingenuity, proof against the power of god themselves, for this small body contained power beyond the gods, the Wooper had become death, destroyer of worlds.[break][break]

The cylinder flew across the cavern, a blue little blur attached to it, nearly hitting Roze in the face as the cylinder shot out of the atoll.[break][break]

The cylinder had by some forsaken miracle, launched directly against the Stakatakameka's side. A massive rumbling shaking through the halls as a massive explosion erupts from the side from the force of the Woopertillery. Within the fiery mass, a small smile remained.[break][break]

The conservationist had been dumbfounded, what was a Wooper doing out in the ocean? What machinations were behind those dark, empty eyes? Normally not one to really fear pokémon, finding a joyous happiness in all of them no matter the shape or size, it was a strange feeling of dread that had seized her.[break][break]

Roze shuddered to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that smile, what dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty—the Wooper had waddled past her, opening its mouth wide before taking a big nom on an oxygen tank for scuba diving. Muffled little "woowoo, woop"s escaping from its toothless maw as drool ran down the cold insulated metal, as the strange little wooper toothed on the cylinder of pressurized gases.[break][break]

Roze had blinked a couple times, her fingers on her chin with the most puzzled yet fascinated look in her eyes, crouching down closer to observe the Wooper.

As a new, ginger-haired face had shown up, with her own little masked compatriot, with Hideo and his own strange, pixie-esque friend determined to trade blows with the malicious mutt that refused to back down even after being cornered. Roze had dove behind a boulder to protect herself from the hail of rocks the poison pup had bombarded them with, her own Quaquaval deft in its attempt to dance around the shards of stone.[break][break]

Yet, there was no respite for Roze nor Sunshower, even with the onslaught tag team between the unfamiliar woman and the young boy Roze had barely known, in that split second moment, the conservationist wasn't quite able to fully assess the situation, whether their pincering blow was enough to stop the Okidogi, or if Hideo and his Uxie had been at risk.[break][break]

Simple support from afar hadn't quite right nor enough, a swift whistle escaped from her direction a little yonder from the boulder she'd used as a shield, her Quaquaval quick to understand, launching forward to bring a third prong to the exchange, fluid, hastening leaps and bounds as the dancer strode forward in a beautiful Aqua Step ending in a spinning kick to assist the positioning of the Okidogi in an attempt to maximize the crushing blow alongside Hideo's maneuver.[break][break]

Roze had hurried forward such that she'd be able to better manage her threat assessment, dirt marring her face and clothes, a dull pain in her still unhealed arm.

Roze had overheard a slight splash with a light hop and a plop as something had come aboard, the sound far lighter than her Carracosta, she'd wondered if her Lumineon had accidentally beached himself on her boat, "I'm coming over, just a sec--... ond...?" she'd stared into a pair of beady, soulless empty eyes, they smiled back.[break][break]
