The conservationist hadn't quite noticed one side of her peril—that of the risk of being consumed by Hideo Kino's mysterious chimaera—only particularly noticing the sudden appearance of the burly avocado-coloured canine that seemed to be assailing both herself and—"Hideo?—!" she'd called out somewhat surprised by the situation, what was a young man like him doing out here? Was he alright?[break][break]

There'd been no time to ponder, even with the low visibility, even without knowing the full situation, she'd understood that the strange canine was full of malintent, and Hideo seemed ready to fight, the conservationist would do all that she could to help, she'd hurled out a poké ball, her shimmering dancer of a Quaquaval crying out with a brave step as he'd escaped his ball, "Let's do what we can to help out Hideo!" she'd requested.[break][break]

Her Quaquaval had nodded, a quick, deft-footed dance ended with a rather brilliant spin that seemed to impart further energy into Hideo's Uxie, helping empower the young boy's attack with a Helping Hand. Meanwhile, Roze had done her best to be just as agile to not get trampled over, herself.

Roze had sighed as she smiled, somewhat in a torpid state herself as her Tyrunt had kicked slightly in his dream, nomming at nothing as the little king of dinosaurs dreamt of food and treats galore. Roze had started putting away the items her other pokémon had collected over time, only for a poké ball to be tossed over onto the boat by another of her pokémon, bouncing off her head and neatly into the bundle.[break][break]

She'd chuckled as she'd rubbed the back of her head, it likely had been an accident, and the little comedic thought of 'what if people could be caught in poké balls' had passed through her mind, followed by a curious thought of why people couldn't be caught, that itself promptly followed by what made people and pokémon so different and how exactly one would design a system to differentiate them for this.[break][break]

As she'd ruminated, her pokémon continued their dives, dancing amongst other marine pokémon, having their own little mini adventures.

A little yawn was all that disturbed her Tyrunt from his peaceful nap, one that the little fossil pokémon would never have experienced in a past life, such a strangely serene experience, to be resting in a place where one might not be able to see the bottom, to fathom what might lurk beneath, what terrors that may be watching from below, waiting.[break][break]

Roze's Kingdra had surfaced from the water alongside her Lumineon, the two letting out a happy little cry as they swam closer to Roze, dropping an odd pair of items on her lap, she'd smiled, it was easy to float in the ocean water, even with one bum arm, though a little more difficult to balance the curios that she'd received and pat the two pokémon's heads. Yet Roze managed, with some difficulty.[break][break]

She'd slowly pushed the Tyrunt's floaty closer to the boat before climbing aboard herself, drying off with a towel as she slipped into a jacket to keep warm, settling down by the water's edge.

Roze had laughed, mostly to hide some of her embarrassment, "I'm sure there are plenty of pretty faces around over in Unova," she'd noted, "with far more talent for acting than me, I'm far more at home with books, pokémon and the outdoors," she'd commented further before awkwardly scratching at her cheek with a somewhat defeated smile, "honestly I'm rather clumsy when it comes to everything outside my forte," she'd admitted. Whilst not exactly a movie buff, Roze would make sure to remember to check out the movie Navy had mentioned, with her injured arm, she'd had a decent amount of free time, most of the things she'd been doing lately far lighter an activity than her usual.[break][break]

She'd cocked her head slightly as Navy had recounted the brewing trouble that seemed to be settling around the region, a slightly worried frown forming on her visage, yet that concern hadn't really been for her own safety. She'd earnt her scars not that long ago. For better or for worse, Roze hadn't really considered the dangers to herself all that much, her dour countenance more particularly owed towards the fact that trouble itself existed.[break][break]

"I'll take your warning to heart, Mister Navy," she'd been somewhat lost in thought processing what he'd said, "if I can help as many people and pokémon who need it, I'm more than happy to put forward all that I've got," her frown had faded away to a gentle smile, "I'll do my best to throw my weight around if Dewford's that understaffed though," Roze had said as reassuringly as she could, as reassuringly as a person who'd forgotten to pack plates really could to show her reliability.

Despite Roze's fascination with just how comedically adorable these bumble-Combee were, her Pawmo seemed to have other ideas, releasing a quick Thunder Shock of his own regard to try and help defend the two trainers, "yes! Aviation! It's quite fascinating how deft and nimbl-- woah!" she'd ducked as the Combee still focused on herself and Rumble had come in to try and attack her, "nimble! They're far larger than the average Combee and-- excuse you, yes you're very adorable, but I'm in the middle of explaining someth--!" she'd continued ducking under each attack with surprising finesse—a feat she normally wouldn't even think to try, all while trying to help Liber learn what exactly was so peculiar and interesting about them.[break][break]

Yet as Liber seemed to be having trouble, the conservationist had quickly changed gears, sending out another poké ball to release quite a mountainous Coalossal that had shook the ground beneath the duo as it landed solidly with a roar, "Havre, a quick Tar Shot, please!" she'd asked kindly yet promptly. The titanic furnace had reared back, only to step forward and release a torrent of viscous black tar in the direction of the Combee that Liber had earned the ire of then with a quick flick manage to nail the Combee that had been assailing his trainer. "Now, anyway, so about Combee's ability to fly...—"

Panic sets in as Roze feels an all too familiar backdrop surrounding Petalburg, howling sands, danger and terror, a sound that seemed... hauntingly familiar despite not being one Roze recognised. The conservationist turns, barely able to see past the storm of sand and dust. Barely able to hear a heart-gripping thud and visceral crunches and squelches over the roaring winds before she spots the cause. Her heart tightens at the grisly sight of a cold, unmarked and uncaring gravestone erect over a body she can't even tell friend from foe.[break][break]

For a moment she's almost paralyzed by the horror, yet something manages to let her pull her gaze away as she hurries away from the resting place of the catapulted boulder, "please be safe, the three of you," she'd whispered to herself, a quick prayer given out to the three she was with barely a moment ago, just where were they? She'd hoped dearly for their safety, she couldn't imagine Eduardo Hisakawa, Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki nor howard slayte being anything less than weary after their tumultuous encounter, yet Roze hoped to see that not a single one of them were harmed any further than they'd already been.[break][break]

The conservationist looked around, despite the horror surrounding her, and even overhearing battles occurring all over the place, she'd hoped desperately to come across someone, anyone. Flashes of the steel titan of the desert scatter through her mind, the corpses piled high from the initial battle of this once beautiful city follow shortly. She was stronger this time, she'll do her damnedest to save anyone who'll take her hand at this point.

Roze had blinked a handful of times, noticing a quick yet gentle rise and fall of the water level in her little hidden grotto, not simply a couple centimeters, but a rather noticeable one that had caused her slight worry that she'd suddenly get stuck with her boat in the grotto in that one moment.[break][break]

She'd breathed a sigh of relief, her Tyrunt still asleep through the ordeal, there was no way she'd have figured out that the cause of this quick swell of water had been a literal giant battle just over yonder.[break][break]

"Hm, how peculiar..." she'd said to herself, inching closer to her boat, all the meanwhile, her water types had barely noticed the sudden swell, deep down in the depths exploring corals and rock and picking up whatever seemed shiny and interesting.

Roze hadn't exactly been much capable of going for a dive herself, what, with her broken arm, at best she could relax and be at ease in the cool ocean waters, relaxing near a rented boat alongside a little Tyrunt sleeping in a Psyduck floaty, a chance to cool her head and wash out the weariness in her body.[break][break]

She'd been situated in a small atoll over a blue hole, the handful of ocean-dwelling pokémon she'd found and befriended exploring the depths and opting to bring up curios for their trainer in hopes of helping uplift her mood over her bum arm.[break][break]

With the raised walls of the atoll forming an almost cavern-esque barrier, the conservationist hadn't been aware of the ensuing battle between the Kaijooper and Stakaxodia off in the distance, save for the odd shadow that seemed to climb over the raised walls of the natural fortress surrounding her.

She'd breathed a sigh of relief as it seemed that Josh was safe, yet as Josh had asked whether she'd be continuing upwards, she'd looked carefully at the damage surrounding them. Considering whether it was best that she try her luck any farther like this.[break][break]

"Hm, honestly, I think it's best that I don't try and push my luck farther than this," she'd admitted, Josh had been right, the pokémon that resided here were more powerful than she'd been inspecting. A somewhat dejected sigh escaping the conservationist, "if it's alright with you, I think I'll stay a little longer around the first floor and wait outside, lest I end up a burden," she'd explained her reasoning. Still far too much a rookie to try and risk foolhardiness with little to show for it.[break][break]

Yet before she'd readied herself to leave, she'd overheard a rather hurried flapping from the distance. Roze had almost been blindsided as an explosion of feathers had consumed her head, frantic fluttering and terrified hooting as a Rowlet scrambled in panic atop her, yet Roze had done little more than flinch, she'd closed her eyes in the surprise, but given a moment to think she'd remained still rather than scramble to get the pokémon off, opting to avoid agitating the poor thing.[break][break]

As the Rowlet began to tire himself out, that's when Roze had opted to help the poor thing relax, gently grasping the owl pokémon in her arms and patting him, "it's alright, we can protect you," Roze had whispered gently, her Duraludon had stepped forward, ready to protect the three from any danger, though Roze had looked to Josh for help, "I'm... confident, but I feel my strength may be lacking," she'd admitted to the ranger. From the distant dark, ravenous footfall could be heard approaching slowly.[break][break]

Roze had smiled and nodded, "Right, Hideo," she'd repeated cheerfully despite their situation. With the young boy's mention of whoever that came potentially being more rough with pokémon, Roze had pursed her lips a bit, rather saddened by the idea, "... hm, perhaps it's best we hold off then, we're not terribly lost, and worst case scenario I have a handful of pokémon who might be able to brute force through the roof," she'd suggested with a playful chuckle.[break][break]

"For now," she'd turned to her Clefairy, a soft gentle whistle escaping her lips that drew the pixie pokémon's attention, who'd nodded in affirmation with a confident, excited little squeak before running a little farther ahead, making sure to stay in view while searching about, utilising a burning Fire Punch as a source of light, looking and sounding plenty playful as it searched about for potential whereabouts of any trapped pokémon aboard the Sea Mauville.[break][break]

"Let's stay close together while we look, shall we?"

Roze had stared out at this small shadowed side of the ocean, hidden beneath the Sea Mauville, the waters were darkened... yet not entirely by the shade, an oil leak had slowly swirled and muddied the waters, she hadn't even been sure why there was still a—now empty—tanker of oil remaining in this dilapidated preservation site.[break][break]

"We ought to... hm," Roze's gaze had looked to the leakage, "skimming would probably be most ideal in case there's a use for it... though do we have the equipment or pokémon for it?" she'd turned her gaze to Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki, someone, who despite currently living in Dewford, Roze hadn't quite recognised—owed due to her forgetfulness, mostly. For now, she'd assumed the young woman to be a fellow Ranger or volunteer, "burning it would likely be the most straightforward, I believe. Dispersants would likely be dangerous to Dewford nearby," she'd suggested further.[break][break]

While she'd been fairly researched on the topic, given that much of her passion was exactly about conservation and preservation, she'd simply offered her opinion, waiting to see what her work partner thought, and if there were any ways to improve such a thing. She'd waited with a chipper smile, though she'd take occasional glances at the spillage, hoping to make sure it hadn't mixed too much with the water to make the operation that much more difficult for the duo.

Roze had perked to the sounds echoing throughout the pipes as Rex tried to pull out his Munchlax, her eyes darting to where she thought each little sound came from until they'd led somewhere she could no longer observe. With a slight pause she'd decided it likely wasn't anything too bad, wandering over to help Rex pull Winnie the Pooh out from Rabbit's rabbit hole.[break][break]

Despite joining forces with the trainer, it seemed there wasn't quite enough strength being put in to free the poor Munchlax from the bindings he'd trapped himself within, in fact, Roze was curious as to just how he'd managed to stay so firmly stuck after getting in this situation in the first place.[break][break]

She'd been so caught up in all this that it hadn't come to mind that the trainer could just return his Munchlax to their poké ball, instead, she'd figured better positioning and more horsepower was an appropriate solution. Placing one boot against the wall, one hand held onto the Munchlax in as favorable a spot as she could muster without causing discomfort, she'd nodded to Rex with a confident, if somewhat strained smile, "on the count of three... one, two, and three--!"[break][break]

With an almost comedic pop and a strange crack the duo had managed to free the Munchlax, yet the force put into doing so had caused them to stumble, the conservationist losing balance and banging her head slightly against the wall behind them.[break][break]

She'd rubbed her newfound sore spot with a slight wincing hiss, before looking to see if Rex and his Munchlax were fine, only to find herself giggling as she'd found out just why it was so difficult to free the poor thing, the Munchlax standing somewhat higher than usual with a pair of frozen slippers.
