With the context of internet forums, ... a lot of things start to make sense. They do spout a lot of nonsense and Vespa watches a fair share of commentary videos that although she isn't on those, she has had a peek into that specific kind of place of the internet. Still ... something seems fishy, but maybe, she also really just doesn't get what the heck is going on. "I'm kinda surprised the internet is right," she comments rather with a huff and a laugh, looking around, "or something like that, anyway." It's really hard to judge or explain what they're facing right now in this eerie space.[break]

Although her curiosity has been spiked about this seal thing, it seems that Fenelle has other thoughts. Looking at the other with a pensive look, Vespa is quick to shrug and nod. "Sure, why not," she only remarks, having another last look at the seal before walking alongside the river. "So ... what have those internet forums been saying? Anything about how to get away?" This place does give her the creeps, so maybe ... but as she talks, she notices the fog thickening, white mist engulfing her. But that should be alright since they're just following the river, right?[break]

Unfortunately, this isn't some kind of tale where they dive into the unknown blue and are just able to breathe water - no, she has to fight the instinct to find out the same (it's just some simulation, right?), but stubbornly keeps the air in her lungs. There is just no saying where it'd go otherwise, especially as they dive further and further - deeper and deeper in. Reason would dictate that it is stupid, but reason is already so loosely applicable to them, it might as well not matter. Still, though ...[break]

Vespa doesn't quite understand what the other is drawn towards so much, only feeling a vague pull herself - until she sees something at the bottom of the lake. Or what appears to be the bottom - they dove for so long, it's hard to say what's real anymore. Have they ever dove townwards, even? But before they can truly make contact with the Pokémon, before such questions can be pondered, she feels how her own limbs weaken - the air runs out, and even as she desperately attempts to pull them both up, it seems fruitless.

Vespa looks around in confusion, and then at Fenelle - how does dee know about the rift thing? It's a thought that doesn't remain unvoiced as she inquires, "how'd you know that it would be the exit?" And then, after a heartbeat, "wait, isn't that the plot of some comic, too? Are we in a sucked-into-literature kinda deal?" That'd be ... pretty weird, to be honest, but. Alright. It must be that there are worse things out here.[break]

Silver mist evaporates at the place where the waterfall of muted sapphire crashes into the depths, meets the ground somewhere - it'd be idyllic, if not for the utterly eerie atmosphere that comes with it. It gives Vespa chills down the spine and before getting lost on their own, she quickly follows them towards what appears to be a - broken seal? "Uh ... does that mean someone else was here before? Or that something bad will happen to us? Did something get, like, unchained?"

It feels surreal - surreal, that mere weeks ago, she has shouted at Kyogre, stood nearly face to face to the same, and now ... and now ... It all sinks in. The gravity of life - the depth of war that has been incomprehensible to her before. The scope of interconnections, a butterfree effect leading one to the other. Causality is a jerk, and she hates it with every fibre of her being, if only because she needs a scapegoat and doesn't know where to direct those feelings at - those feelings that emerge at the sight of Mossdeep City in its current state, peaceful childhood memories erased with a flood like no other.[break]

"F*ck that shit," she cusses under her breath, kicking a pebble as she wanders the abandoned streets. She immediately signed up for relief efforts when she heard that her birthplace has been affected, but somehow, she hasn't realised what she would see now - the broken, the broken, the broken. And she can't even really yell to Cassandra Kubrick about it because that lad is hiding somewhere (respectfully, reasonably). Though at least she wouldn't have to do this all with a stranger, either, even as she only met Navy once and hasn't managed to go down to Dewford since. How it's doing, she wonders ...

Still shuddering from the events that prevailed, and also from the light nausea she is feeling from the scenarios shifting, the new one ... is a little better? Really, not at all, too, but it be what it may. At least it has no eyes. Only dying Crystablooms, shimmering with a broken kind of brilliance. Which is objectively sadder, and better, but also quite sadder. "Honestly, I don't know ... maybe?" she replies to Cassandra's question. Luckily, the scenarios don't seem to divide them, at least. "I mean, weird shit be happening. It was really spooky tho-"[break]

She only manages to have a small glimpse around, her eyes following more of the Shadow Persian than the lake to which Cassandra feels drawn to. The question rises out of the blue for the other, tilting her head as she says with a smirk, "I trust you as much as I trust me." Which, in all honesty, isn't a lot. None of them should be left unsupervised, as those actions in this unreal space show-[break]

One moment, Vespa tries to explain away why Nathan would be catchable, even though it's theoretically her Pokémon, and then - something else. Zack-boom, one could say. She can only blink over the unfamiliar display, a scene right out of the weird simulation thing she keeps going back to. But this ... this feels real in a sense. Real-er. And, at the same time, completely unreal, bro.[break]

The Falinks Squad is looking around with suspicion, seemingly having immediately sensed that something is off and kept out of the Pokéball as they walk closely to their trainer in this anomaly of space and time. "Well, but ... where is the exit, though?" she can agree with the sentiment that getting away asap is the right thing to do, but there is just. "It's just mist 'n' stuff. It's by chance that she ended up coming here, running into the gym leader that she knew from what prevailed during the wreckage of Sea Mauville. She still doesn't quite understand what even happened ... but, fine. She has accepted that she knows little from what is plaguing Hoenn right now, only recently starting to quiz the strange things that keep on occurring. And like Navy said, she ... better prepare. Learning how to ride a dragon seems to be only beneficial, surely.[break]

The other's optimism almost makes her feel bad about the whole Jo-Nathan situation. After all, little would dee know about ... well. Nathan. Little cute stinker. Little gremlin gal. Little chaos incarnate. Little head empty, no thoughts. "... Yeah," she doesn't find the heart to say as much, though, considering dee really seems like dee wants to help. (At least that's what Vespa's ineffable people skills say.)[break]

Before she can explain why she did what she did (reason: unclear), though, she is distracted yet another time as the other manages to catch a dusclops, just so. "Wow, you're really good at this whole thing! Catching Pokémon, I mean," she comments before looking around again. There seem to be quite some Ghost types ... something that makes her thrive. Heh ... "So, the gist of why I did what I did-" she does feel like she owes dem an explanation (even if she doesn't have one).[break]

Before she can do that, though, another Ghost type floats into her vision, a Sinistea that - after a short glance exchanged with the Falinks - gets attacked with a Megahorn, weakening it enough that she can throw a Pokéball at it. "Nice!" she mutters to herself when she turns to Fenelle again. Oh - right. "So, the thing is-"[break]

But she doesn't come further than that.

Surprised-not-surprised at the trusted Trubbish appearing by her side and the Falinks, to face off against basically ocean incarnate. She gives him a triumphant smirk, as if that is all that they need to face against saltwater and raging storms. Soaked as she is through the relentless downpour, she still stands (as) strong (as she can, by holding onto the mast). "We shall conquer-!" she says, but isn't actually so sure. Where does human pride take them? Who knows ...[break]

Still, how to proceed in such a peculiar situation? "No clue," she earnestly yells back to Cassandra - but where is no plan, there is a will, and where is a will, there is a way! Which is as good as a plan, in her eyes. "We'll definitely won't retreat, and - shuck, protect everyone!" Her eyes grow wide as she sees what seems to be coming at them, and each member of the Falinks Squad is standing tall against -[break]

How did she get here? That's a question that Vespa has to stand answer for for too often, surely awaiting Judgement at the long end of her unserious and questionable, her entirely random and entirely illogical choices. Or ... perhaps, Judgement is already awaiting her in this moment, seeing the long line of listless Slowpokes, and their executioner.[break]

Thankfully, she isn't in this alone - and the words of Cian are reassuring, at least. This isn't real, this isn't real ... but she still isn't able to fully get rid of the churning feeling in her stomach.
