As soon as Oolong has been dropped at the daycare, he has approached the edges of the facility, drawn in by a smell he can't quite identify and even if he tries to look up, his anatomy is preventing him from fully knowing what it is that has him in a trench this much. It's the singular thought that dominates him as he sighs, sitting under the tree with no sense of purpose other than possibly finding out what lies atop. But being left with nothing but his own thoughts stirs melancholy in him. If only ... but the world is as it is.[break]

Only when he hears a voice approaching, does he move a little to greet the other, surprised as to why she would approach - cautious, but nonetheless as friendly as he can muster, "oh ... hello? I'm - uh." Wait. Now that is already a pretty loaded question, the Trapinch must say. How to say? "... Do you want to know, actually, or just pleasantries?" Being in Morrighan's care since has taught him one thing at least - that there is etiquette and that he should follow it to a degree, too.

Expect the unexpected, some may always say, but how would there ever be such a way to anticipate to run into a familiar face, under similarly distressing (albeit less immediately life-threatening) circumstances such as now? "It's a surprise to meet you here also, Nick," she assumes first-name, though she is just as equally astonished as he is. Perhaps, they just end up being drawn to similar circumstances, though she wouldn't exactly think of any of them as 'thrill seeker'.[break]

But perhaps, venturing such an odd place is far more comfortable in company, should it end up being this way. If nothing else, there is a little more trust than she would have extended to a complete stranger, and that is enough to make her inclined for the situation at hand. However, the question is a trickier question to answer, a bemused smile adorning her face, "why, the atmosphere could make for a chilling story ... but I'm no such creative myself. The rumours also are aplenty, so you could probably have your pick amidst the ones that run wild on the internet." Truthfully, there are a couple that intrigue herself, and yet ...[break]

Unfazed by the less-than-conversational demeanour of the other, Morrighan merely gives him a smile, somewhat mystified, amused and a little judgemental all at once. After all, she is pretty much the grown-up investing time into such mysteries of life, however dignified it may seem in the other's eyes - but fortunately for her own sake, perhaps, she truly has never bothered with opinions that weren't her own. "Then it seems we may both hope this remains the last," she then hums, "there is much more intrigue and usage for them to be found otherwise, rather than using them for such a gruesome ... endeavour."[break]
[break]
However, that is as far as she goes when it comes to their conversation, something brooding in the background that yields forth with full force soon after - an outburst of noises filling the place all over again in an inexplicable cacophony of noise. Morrighan immediately squints, furrowing her eyebrows and frowning upon the scene unfolding, calling all of her Pokémon immediately to her side as Nikita swats away a Cramorant. "What in the-" she mutters under her breathe, but it is all but going under in the noise. "Everyone - attack!" she only manages to communicate with her Pokémon. The Solrock charges up with Rock Throw at the flock of birds, smaller rocks than usual being fired while the Lunatone helps and attacks itself with Psychic.[break]

To the detective, she remarks - mouths, "shut your ears," just as the Chatot begins to Chatter all around.

"There is no refuting that," Morrighan agrees with the sentiment, although it also sounds like the other could actually use a good night's sleep more than anything. But who is she to judge someone else? She has no such interest in doing so, after all, and there is a certain curiosity that is still lingering around regarding this person. A familiarity that she cannot place in such a place where only so much light reaches, right down a streetlamp. "Me? Well ... you could probably call it such, though it is rather my mind that is keeping me awake, and less so exhaustion that should be avoided," she muses - there is always an aftermath to visit a cultural event of any kind, the kind of ... inspiration that one feels after, inspired to awe and a little muse of her own.[break]

"Shall we walk a little further then? If you'd like to accompany, of course," she then offers the other, feeling like she's just about to crack the vague mystery. It seems all so obvious sometimes, doesn't it? And yet ...

And as if trying to make a point, they swirl the insides of their chipped cup nearly hypnotically, the swirl forming a pattern that no ordinary tea should make ... at least not without a helping of toxic milk, probably.[break]

Oh! But this seems like one jolly fellow, too, and they give a hearty laugh to its question, "oh? There are! But I am most certainly the best, heh ... Have you not encountered our kind before?" It's in this particular moment that she averts her eyes from the window - that in this very moment, something happens. It's a subtle change in the airflow, a forceful something from the outside that doesn't quite feel like a breeze, that makes her halt in her thoughts. Is the mansion being broken into? Would someone be quite as stupid to think of an open window as an invitation of sorts? Or is this perhaps a scheme planned for longer than Morrighan had been invited to the party, mere minutes - barely an hour before it started? The cheer and the laughter sound so distant, yet so close, as she slowly turns at the quietly uttered word.[break]
[break]
A singular expression that shouldn't have the effect it does - plummeting her heart into the depths of somewhere she has never bothered to reach for, an illusionary pain making it through her brain. She must be exhausted. This isn't possible.[break]
[break]
She doesn't turn around, yet, though her voice echoes steadfast - prim, proper, obnoxious through the lonely room, "oh? I wasn't aware visitors would come through the window now, or I would have prepared a warmer welcome. Not that I am truly the lady of the mansion, however." Sarcasm swings in cynical words, almost mocking, perhaps underestimating the possible danger she is in - but there is little else than arrogance in her when it comes to such, venom the only answer she has.

The forest whispers.[break]

That's the first thing Morrighan notices as she enters the forest, surrounded by the leaves and branches of the trees and bushes around her, all rustling in the low breeze of the wind with something else to share. She wouldn't know, for she never bothered to listen and understand the forest's makings, though there is some intrigue in it now. Would things have been different if she hadn't been told not to venture into the forests back when she was young? Haunted, some would say - dangerous, her parents would insist, and for once, the little black Mareep would listen. For once - and what did it bring her now?[break]
[break]
The expression on her face is yet a bemused one as she goes where she wouldn't have dared to tread, so - so many years ago. But this is a different time and she is curious to see if those urban legends have any merit to their word. In this world full with those creatures called Pokémon, anything and everything seems possible. In Hoenn of all places, nothing was quite impossible.[break]
[break]
Amidst the lingering fog and the eerie atmosphere, the story collector does not intend to show such sights to the Magearna as of now. Perhaps later - later, some time ... But her trusted Chatot is by her side, flying sometimes - sitting on her shoulder more often as they go and ... To her surprise, or lack thereof, she is not the only one.[break]

"What a place to meet again," she remarks, approaching the familiar ranger, though she wonders whether or not he would remember. The circumstances of their first meeting have been ... peculiar, to say the least, though then again, that doesn't always merit remembrance. But to meet again in such a way - life can really be curious.

More often than not, it does come with the benefit of free lodging for the duration - even as the invitation itself only reached her when she set foot to Slateport City, it isn't quite as unwelcome as it would probably be a much nicer stay than what she has been initially eyeing. Thankfully, the mansion is also located further on the edge of the Upper District, closing in on the nature surrounding the city and allowing herself a nice view onto the forest, with the sea in the future distance.[break]

The party itself was lovely, only did she exit a little earlier than the end would truly be, citing fatigue from the long travels and the many things that she has been seeing during her travels - oh, of course, she would love to elaborate further during breakfast tomorrow, she would be certainly available to have some coffee and pastry with them, and naturally, if they would like her to stay for another day, she would ensure to recall some of the stories and fairytales she has come across. How tiresome. With a sigh, she enters her room, leaving the lights off as she saunters into the darkness, getting ready for bed as she changes into her white nightgown. Sitting down on the bed, she almost melts into the shadows as the Chatot is already dozing off on the stand she has been provided with, and the Magearna blends into the darkness in a corner, too, a sphere as it retreats into itself. Exhausted her body may be, her mind hasn't tired quite so as Morrighan slowly turns to the window where moonlight is only faintly visible. It's quite a dark night, isn't it?

Unfortunately, the story collector isn't quite versed in the language of Pokémon, and she wonders whether or not the Magearna, just having been brought to life not too long, would be able to keep up with the excited cheers of the young one. It's adorable to see, however, eliciting a smile on Morrighan's face, as the Magearna turns to the Pichu and looks down, trying to get to the small Pokémon's level, though ... considering how she is made entirely out of metal and an unyielding one at that, it's more difficult to do. "Seems like you are quite the attraction," she hums, unsure though if she should help the Pichu to see the Magearna better and vice-versa or not. It's not her Pokémon, after all, so she looks around.[break]

Apart from them, there are only a few more customers that seem busy with their own things, and only one shop clerk that is looking over them. "Hello! Is this little one yours?" she wonders out loud, only just catching the words the stranger utters. Huh? An autograph? The thought makes her chuckle, considering how there isn't too much added value to a copy of her book if signed by her. The researchers would certainly not beat themselves up for a copy of that. "I don't think an autograph of either of us is worth as much," Morrighan thusly remarks, though flatter isn't without some effect, softening her features a little.

A Golurk ... now that is one fearsome creature to encounter in such a state, especially twice the size ... She would only love to inquire more about how such a foe was slain, if it's even appropriate to call it such - though they have been hostile towards them, that doesn't necessarily mark them as evil creatures, not? For all its worth, perhaps humanity is the one steering towards a most tragic end, at the hands of their own ... but who is to say, really? "Well, I'm grateful you made it out alive, or else, I wouldn't be so sure about myself today," she only remarks in turn, keeping the more grim thoughts to herself as she muses on the words, turning and turning them around like pirouettes on thin ice.[break]

Nick Steele is certainly a name she shall remember, though before she can voice such a sentiment, a flock of Spearows is emerging from the bushes where they just had a life-threatening encounter in, a brilliant display in its own way - of life that continues, life that goes on. Looking at how it makes a smile on Nick's face emerge, she can't help the small chuckle either, a scoff in a way with upturned lips. "I couldn't have said it better myself," she tips her hat - somewhat having made it out unscathed - in turn, a sign of respect. "And I wish you well also. May our paths cross under more ... favourable stars the next time."[break]

There is a weighted pause when she hears the current circumstances of the Legendary's existence on earth these days. Huh ... How interesting. It almost loses the storyteller's interest, anything that verges on this little thing called reality, but there is intrigue in it, too. In centuries time, how would this story be told? How would their very reality shape the perception of an age that's yet to come - should it come, with all that is happening? "I see" is the only thing that she lets out after a long moment, no more notes taken as she sets her pen aside. This kind of story is one that is yet to be written, after all.[break]

"Quite an interesting opposition, I would fathom," she hums. There are many questions to be asked, but it doesn't seem like neither of them are able to contribute to more insight as she is merely beginning to process the recent information, far yet near of what she used to be reading about for her studies and the various books she published. "I do wish the best for you whatsoever - and thank you for your time," Morrighan remarks with a smile, "I should not take up too much of your time, then, though ... if you would like, we can stay in touch - just in case I may find something intriguing, or if you'd like to inform me of new developments."
