The echoing silence of rusturf tunnel was something Aisling was yet to grow accustomed to. Flareon padded quietly beside her, its fiery glow illuminating their path just enough to avoid stumbling over loose rocks and uneven ground.

Aisling’s steps slowed when an unexpected sound disrupts the usual tranquility—a steady, rhythmic thud accompanied by muffled voices. Her eyes narrowed as she caught sight of a woman, and then widened in recognition. It had been years, but there was no mistaking her—Miyako from that stupid forensic science program. One of Aisling's many failed ventures.

"Never thought I'd see you spelunking for kicks, Miyako," Aisling stepped forward into the faint light. "If you’re looking for something ‘cool,’ you won’t find it in this damp hole." She hesitated for a second, then shrugged. "But hey, maybe you’ll have better luck I’ve seen weirder things." Her tone was half-mocking, half-challenging, the kind of attitude that had kept people at arm’s length for years.
