Aisling could not help but have a cold smile on her face as Ninetales not only successfully wrenched free the small black pearls, but also sent the Grumpig fleeing with its curly tail between its legs. Ninetales snorted with haughty pride as it returned by Aisling's side to deposit the black pearls into the bag of pink ones.

Aisling grinned upon hearing Absinthe's approval. "I've always preferred a more direct approach." She winked.

Aisling turned back towards the rest of meadow where many of the Spoink had scattered from the commotion. Only a few remained, still bouncing around oblivious to the fate of one of their compatriots.

She jingled her bag of pearls. "Between the two of us, are these enough pearls for your purposes?" She suddenly felt rather tired, having done more work today than she had for the past week.

Aisling blinked, taken aback and unsure of how to respond to the kid's unexpected enthusiasm. When was the last time someone had been so excited about inviting her somewhere? She couldn’t remember.

Feeling as though she ought to be a little nicer, she shook their hand. "Call me Aisling." She said. Feeling awkward and wanting to fill the silence, she flicked a thumb in Ninetales' direction. "This is… uh, Ninetales. I never gave her a nickname." Alas, small talk was not Aisling's forte.

She then looked over to the Tropius. "Saw you riding that thing earlier. Didn't realise we could do that sort of thing." Though she would not admit it, Clover's riding had been rather cool.

When Howard confirmed that they didn't have enough time, Aisling suddenly felt a pang of embarrassment and regret for having wasting time in the beginning when she played with the Aerodactyl keychain. Had she wasted previous seconds just because she wanted to mess with Howard?

Now solemn, she only nodded in response to Howard's orders. Her hand gripped her pokeball harder, and the other hand hovered at the flashdrive, ready to wrench it out at any moment.

Aisling stood at the edge of Slateport’s beach, the salty breeze tugging at her hair as she eyed the calm waves and the line of saddled Mantine waiting in the water. With a deep breath, she mounted the Mantine, feeling the powerful creature shift beneath her as it prepared to glide across the waves. As they picked up speed, the world around her seemed to blur, the rush of water and wind filling her senses. Timing was everything. She leaned forward, mentally counting down the moment to initiate the trick.

Aisling trudged through the unforgiving sands, the sun hanging low and heavy. The grit clung to her boots and stung her eyes, but she barely noticed.

Beside her, her Alolan Ninetales glided effortlessly over the dunes, its ice-blue fur and sparkling tails a striking contrast to the heat-scorched landscape. Flareon padded alongside, its fiery coat bristling slightly as it absorbed the oppressive warmth of the desert, though the fire-type Pokémon seemed to find comfort in it. Aisling barely glanced at her companions, half the time she didn’t even have them outside their pokeballs.

Unexpectedly, she found that she was not the only human out here. A woman stood by, her presence marked by a Drilbur by her side. But it was the Pokémon beside her that truly caught Aisling’s eye—a Calyrex, its regal bearing unmistakable even in this barren place.

The sight of such a rare and powerful Pokémon would once have sent Aisling’s heart racing, but now it only stirred a faint curiosity. "Crowded place we have here." She said, by way of greeting.

The kid confirmed that the Mareep did not belong to him. But instead, they belonged to his neighbours. Her arms remained crossed. It was a possible story but it was clear that Aisling didn’t entirely believe him. Plus, her pride refused to let her admit that she could be wrong.

Aisling was momentarily taken aback as the stranger asserted that the Combee didn’t belong to her. She flushed with embarrassment but was too proud to apologise and admit she was wrong. It was the stranger’s fault for riding around a Beedrill in the first place!

"Whatever." She grumbled and then ducked near an overturned crate to dodge a Combee that was trying to Bug Bite her. "Then hurry up and help me!"

Flareon seemed to believe that Aisling had been addressing it instead. It yipped loudly and began a Fire Spin, sending a fierce vortex of fire towards the Combee to trap them inside.

A nearby bookkeeper let out a scream of horror, swooping towards his books to save them from being accidentally torched amongst the chaos.

Aisling wrinkled her nose and vainly tried to wave away the smoke, clearly regretting her decision to be so physically close to Howard.

She crossed her arms, sulking as she returned to the computer and sank into the nearby leather chair. "Whatever you say." She said, by way of agreement. She wasn’t concerned with Howard’s status as superior to others. Him having respect didn't offer her any benefit.

Absinthe was surprisingly quick to respond. Her Seviper also had that same speed. Aisling watched with hidden awe as the Night Slash hit the Grumpig. She was quickly brought into action as Grumpig clearly was far from giving up.

"Dodge it!" Aisling called out, though it seemed her command was unnecessary as Flareon leapt out of the way of the Power Gem.

She then turned to Ninetales who'd abandoned its job of collecting the abandoned Spoink pearls. With a grin, Aisling uttered not a pokemon move, but a different command.

"Fetch."
[break][break]
With that, Ninetales pounced upon the Grumpig, sinking its teeth into pig pokemon's black pearls and tearing them free. The Grumpig only squealed in horror, not unexpecting such an shameless invasion of its space.

Aisling's attempts to hold back Flareon paused as she caught sight of another man and his Flareon, accompanied by all the Eeveelutions to boot. Show off. She stared at him, looking back and forth between the stranger and her own Flareon.

"Flareon, that looks so stupid." She said, not caring if the mounted man overheard. Her initial instinct was always to shut down, and she had little inclination for adventure or trying new things.
