Xuying still has to wrap his head around the last puzzling scenario when they emerge in the next - it feels disorienting to be back in his human form, even more so on a ship that is tossed and turned by the waves. He can only grimace as he holds his head, and ... Uh oh. With horror, he notices the enormous force ahead and - for once, it's a Legendary Pokémon that he can recognise. "What the heck is Thundurus doing here-" he only manages to mutter to himself when-[break]

-what is that idiot of a teenager saying?[break]
[break]
"Are you out of your mind? What is wrong with the youth these days?!" he blurts out immediately, looking around to grab his Pokéballs as he tries to steady himself (he fails) and sighs. Alright ... alright. There is somewhat of a lopsided grin on his face when he releases all three of his companions. "Fine ... fine, let's battle it. This isn't even real, so what, I guess." Does he know how to really battle? Not really, but - go figure.

After successfully catching the Carvanha, too, he has to take a few moments to normalise his breathing - the rate of his heartbeat as he slowly inhales and exhales a couple of times. If the safari is always this ... turbulent, he does wonder where it will end in the long run. "Sheesh ... but let's continue, we have one more ball to throw," Xuying hums as he gestures for the Rotom to follow him.[break]

Much to his luck, the next species he does encounter is quite familiar - the Metagross used to be a Beldum after all, and after a couple of attacks exchanged between the Beldum and the Rotom, he is able to throw a ball and catch the last one. "Hah ... almost feels nostalgic, not, Y?" he looks over, though it doesn't seem like the dual type is sharing his opinion much. With an amused smile, he shrugs, "eh, let's go home."

"... There is a d20 on my body?" Xuying voices with a level of confusion, trying to squint at himself, but to no avail. Back in Unova, this kind of Pokémon hasn't been that common and he also hasn't managed to catch one of his own just yet. "Guess I'll have to see for myself another time," he only shrugs as he still ponders how they can return. This form is quite inconvenient after all ...[break]

But try as it might, his sight doesn't change and nothing, in fact, changes - apart from the other who turns into an Intelleon after some time, and he feels himself also shifting into the next stage - not exactly breaking back into a human, but ... well. This. Orbeetle. "Anytime now ... the simulation seems to be stuck on this scenario for a little to long to my liking," Xuying sighs out loud, shaking his whole body as he does so - and finally, he sees the beginnings of a shift, pixels dispersing as something new rises. Whatever they have to face now, though ... won't he come to regret having wished for this scenario to end?

There is confusion on the researcher's face, but it drops soon as he simply shrugs and nods in turn, not minding what strange company they may or may not have, as long as he doesn't have to run the heck out of here again. "Gotchu, gotchu," Xuying hums instead, seeing that the mysterious Pokémon is tagging along their little journey through the festival now.[break]

It feels like a much-needed break from the other two scenarios they experienced and he feels quite lucky that there isn't some weird morphing of the scenario, either - it stays peaceful for the following moments, almost too good to be true. Certainly too good to last forever. Even as this is a mere simulation and nothing else, a part of him does feel a little sad about having to part from this place, but there is also no regret in going when the time calls for it. "Thanks for your time, buddy," he fistbumps the Pokémon again before turning to Josh, "and thanks for tagging along, too. It's been one heck of a time!"[break]

And thusly, as Toxic Chains are breaking out, he, too, leaves the simulation, though the image of the Toxic Chain also lingers on his mind ...

Just as he dusts off his jacket and tries to ignore the increasing laughter coming from the sidelines, there seems to be a shift in the scenery. After picking up the safari ball with the shiny Numel in it, he ... cannot help but to feel like there is some bad omen. He cannot feel like there is something that he should be aware of, but clearly is not.[break]

A shiver runs down his spine as he turns around ... to only the barest sight of a lake behind him, as most of his vision is soon taken by a very fast, very speedy, disturbingly agile Carvanha that comes right at him.[break]
[break]
"Yike-!" he is only able to yell out before he quickly throws a safari ball, hoping it would get this one out of sight, even if he also doesn't think like he actually wants to catch it. But ... well, he does not have one so far ... And all the while, the Rotom is no particular help at all.

"Umph-" Xuying feels a great weight on top of him as he stumbles into the next location - the next scenario without so much as an awareness for his surroundings, only feeling the weight of a grown man and the large Pokémon dimmed a little by the mercy of the simulation, as it would seem, considering he feels himself able to roll out from under those two as the scenario is still building itself into a ... strangely peaceful one.[break]
[break]
As he sits up - eventually standing up, he feels a mask on his face, sees a lot of masks surrounding him as everyone is having a good time. Surely this won't end in them running away or something again? He sighs - prays, for once in his life, that this may be the case. His legs may not be as real in this simulation, but his fatigue sure is, feeling like he'll definitely have to take a nap after this. "Let's ... see if this one is harmless, eh?" he throws to Josh as he starts to walk around the festivities, feeling a little more relaxed than before - until they bump into a strange festival goer, the mask telling him nothing. Still, he thinks nothing of it and just offers a fistbump to the other before walking to one of the stalls, wondering if he can taste the food here.

The next thing that happens is quite weird - the world shifts to a very weird form, sort of kaleidoscoping in front of him as he opens his eyes next once the scenario finished manifesting fully. And then ... He feels strange. There is something ... odd about this all as his vision doesn't change back and factually, he is much more on ground-level than he used to be. Is he crawling? Is he ...[break]

He looks over at the much larger Drizzile that seems to be the one he saw in the previous scenario, too, the one he seems to be doing this simulation thing together. But why is she a Pokémon? And ... if she is one, what the heck is he even? "What am I?" Xuying voices, squints as he agrees, "I can't see shit like this, for real ..." Maybe if he wishes hard enough, it'll happen? Surely they won't be torn apart by whatever is going on?

Quite too distracted from what just happened to truly notice his own vision of the past, the chitter-chatter fading into the background, he does not do much as fortunately, Andrea seems to snap back into reality, but that doesn't result with an explanation, just a rushed farewell as they part their ways, her disappearing first. Looking around a little clueless, finding himself alone in the familiar corridors - in the visions of such now, he ... shrugs. Well, he cannot unearth what other don't give, and he figures it's just another one on the list of secrets he'll likely never get to hear about.[break]

Leaving his own past behind, the researcher is quick to exit the simulation on his own, thoughts lingering on all the strange things that keep happening in this simulated space. Such a weird thing ... really. History, both from ages long past, and from every individual on this earth, are quite, quite odd.

Xuying frantically pulls out his phone, looking through it with hasty movements to ensure that neither his camera roll have weird pics, nor that the Rotom already sent some to the many group chats he has for some reason. Luckily, that doesn't seem to be the case as he lets out a sigh of relief, all the while continuing to work on the path given ...[break]

... until he trips. Hard.[break]

The phone makes a ridiculous arch in the air as the researcher loses his grip on it, as he falls face-first on the ground, arms outstretched, in a most comical order. "What the-" he groans, barely hearing his own voice over the maniacally loud cackle of the Rotom as it zaps around him, around and 'round. Only when he is able to gain a semblance of composure, is he able to see that he just tripped over ... a Arceus-be-damned Numel. One of a different colouring than he would remember, but a Numel nonetheless. He sighs as he makes eye contact with the other, and just throws a ball, a little lamely.[break]

The next scenario is a ... strange one, in a sense that much like the other two, it starts peacefully enough. Besides the fact with the cliffs and all, which are a little alarming, and the general sense of the unknown that is festering in the air, but there is nothing that immediately threatens their well-being in this simulated universe like a couple other times that he found himself in this place. But ... herbs and spices begin to float his mind, alongside the familiar chitter-chatter of his family, yelling and talking in an otherworldly volume across the kitchen, over the sizzling of oil and grease, across the corridors and across the entire house. But as much as the vision begins to flicker, there is also awareness that it shouldn't be - because Andrea doesn't quite so fit into this scenario, and just as he looks and watches for her, his own past fades into the very real existence.[break]

Xuying is by no means a hero and he doesn't look very good when sprinting over, still feeling his legs ache a little from all the running away and panic that he is going through in all those simulations (they should really not do that to him, this isn't supposed to be reality, anyway, right?), grabbing her arm - firmly, yet loosely enough that she could technically break free if she really wants to. Which, he also really hopes she does not. "Y-yo ... don't think that's a good idea, okay? Listen, I don't know what you're seeing and all that jizz, but ... uhh ... your buddy here is really concerned, ok? There is a cliff, by the way," he rambles forth, really quite unsure what has Andrea so shaken up, and just hoping this will not become brutal. The disfigured man is still haunting his mind, and will, for a while.
