Some fucking kid decided to play the hero.

He doesn't look any older than eighteen maybe? Give or take a year. His gunmetal eyes keep staring up at me even as I pull my knife outta him. My boys are taking care of his Red Gyarados. It goes down screaming. Can't tell if its cause I took out his trainer, its pain, both, or something else. Its eyes look exactly like this kid's.

Pa always told me killing is when my world will start coming down. Guess he was right. Maybe that's why he gave us those lessons 'fore we were old enough. He wanted to make sure if we ever needed to we wouldn't break down.

But Pa...I killed a kid. Probably someone's little brother. Yeah he was coming at me but...

But nothing. That's what comes with the territory yeah?

I'll give him this. Kid put up a hell of a fight. Might have been good to have watching my back if that was in the cards. He had the skills to probably go Champ. And I should know.

But its not just for my survival. Its for these other folks I ran into while running into the middle of a fucking battlefield. I don't know why I did but I just saw someone about to be eaten by some purple dragon looking thing. Domon took it out no problem and I helped them get to safety.

That's when...he showed up. jayden cross.

Holy shit I can't believe it, I found him again. Little ol' Micchy. Thought his family moved away or something but here he was, in Hoenn fighting off these invaders. And he was fighting under Rocket's flag. When everything was all said and done he asked me one simple question. Probably because I helped bailed his ass a few times and rescued a few of his buddies...

He asked if I wanted to be a part of Rocket.

I say "Goodbye, Galar" as its champion as I get on that boat. Someone will take over the title after today. It was a nice what, few months? Didn't think it'd get so boring so easily. I guess that's my fault, me and the boys do have a crazy training regimen that keeps us in tip top shape.

We need something new. A change of scenery. Hoenn seems to be the talk of the town lately so that's where I'll go. The family tell me to be careful since Rocket is crawling all over that place. I take the warnings and try to reassure them that I won't get beaten down by them. They know that too. It feels more like an obligation that they all have to do. Think I'd do the same if any our younger siblings did the same.

Sensei sees me off and tells me about this one guy he knew. King of Fighters. If I wanted to test myself and Domon and see just how far we've come we should seek them out. Its a goal to add to the list I'm making of things to do over there.

Find this King of Fighters.

Take on the Hoenn League.

Learn how to make some Poffins.

Shit like that. Hope it'll give me a breath of fresh air. Think I could use it.

Got invited to some island by a martial arts buddy I met after snagging that seventh gym badge. noah faber was it? Dude must have been here for some tournament that slipped my mind. Kinda focused a little bit on the trainer side of things to think about martial arts.

Kinda glad he did invite me, that's where I met Domon. Sorry let' me back up.

When I got there I found a dojo full of people training to be the best martial artists around. My name got around to some of the students so when they recognized me it caught the attention of the Sensei there. Told him I was sort of interested in joining. He snapped back at me for having a half hearted answer.

In retrospect I couldn't blame him. I was always unsure about new things even when I grew up.

Still I decided to join and proved that all those muscles on me weren't for show. That's when Sensei gave me this cute little bear cub. Told me to train them alongside me during my time at the island. Little bugger was as fierce as even a Garchomp. Afterwards Sensei gave us a test and we passed with flying colors. Gave little Domon a headband to congratulate him, that's when he grew up too. Ever since we've been inseparable and I couldn't imagine life without him.

Me and him? Yeah I think we're gonna go far.

"Man we really thought we had ya there but man you sure showed us." Domon was hanging off of Kazimir's shoulder, his expression almost blissful as sleep was finally taking him and letting his body relax. Kaz was grateful for it honestly, the bear needed some beauty sleep, or rather deserved it at this point. "Maybe next time a tourney like this shoots up we'll seek ya out Duggie. I'm sure Domon will want a rematch as explosive as this one. Good luck with your other battles!" With that he dragged his partner to the nearest center for some proper care.

Pa nearly threw me against the wall when I said I wanted to go to Hoenn. After hearing what happened in Slateport I just...something just woke up inside of me. Like it was calling me to there, to help. To do something to make sure that place doesn't burn to the ground. I couldn't understand why though, I've only been there on family trips. Its not like the place is special to me or anything.

Dad told me its probably the ol' "Wyndon Curse", a family kind of thing that lots of our ancestors were said to have. Did ya know Wyndon was most likely named after one of them? Ruled right from that little city loooooong ago. Anyway Dad said its a natural urge we have to go out and right injustice in the world. Like we're born destined to be heroes. Maybe that's why you can trace our family back to having lots of knights back in the day. I think I just couldn't take it hearing about it anymore.

Pa said i wasn't going till I had something other than Rookies on my team. I know he means well, but its not like my team is lacking in spirit. Sure they're all kids but they got the hearts the size of Wailmers!

Eh...he's probably right. Maybe I should at least hit the circuit a bit to make sure my skills are top notch. If I can be half as good as one of the old champs like maybe Gwyar Wledig then I'd have better chances at surviving out there.

Wonder if I can convince Dad to let me take Siegfried with me instead. Old boy's probably getting tired of playing nanny to all the Honedges out in the garden.

He wasn't planning on letting go anytime soon but the way the bull continued to charge despite the bear putting all his strength into restraining it was amazing to say the least. Still his strength had a limit and it was close to reaching it. This fight would need to end soon and while he really wanted to be the victor of it the Urshifu wasn't sure if that was going to be the case. In that case he needed a gamble and hope for the best, so he waited to detect the right moment.

Vaulting over the bull he let go of its horns so that he could fall backwards into the mud and scrambled to get back onto his feet. His body stung all over, mud caked his fur, he looked like total shit. Still he stood tall with his hands raised up in solid fists and let out a roar for the bull to come at him one more time.
