How did he come in unnoticed?[break][break]

The reflection of light that shone on crystals as dark as the night were possibly a hint to this, but the figure vanished almost instantly, in a blink. After a few minutes, Balder returned, a Fundoshi wrapped around his private parts and a towel on his shoulder. "I locked the door and advised the landlady about it. We're good for at least an hour."[break][break]

The Alolan man proceeded to enter the water, dropping his towel on the side of the spring. After taking in the heat of the water, the man released a satisfying breath and then looked at the Head Ranger. "So? Why the sudden meeting?"

The landing wasn't spectacular, but they survived. Balder called the Zeraora back after confirming Ruby was safe. They needed to quickly advance further. Before everything collapses. Balder proceeded to summon Mamoswine.[break][break]

The ground shatters under their feet, triggering a fall. Balder proceeded to call his Tyranitar back as the ground collapsed, avoiding to let it go into a free fall. Its weight would make it fall faster after all. But now, they had to handle surviving the rocks... and the magma waiting for them at the end.[break][break]

"Lars, do something to avoid our death! I'll save Ruby!" Upon making this statement, Balder grabbed a special pokeball from his belt, throwing it at Ruby. The Zeraora emerged, grabbing the lady right away. It then looked at Balder. "Keep her safe, I'll be fine!" Hopefully the mythical creature would be able to keep the girl safe.

As soon as the rock collapsed, the cavern began to rumble. Things seemed to be getting dire and they needed to get things done quicker. "Shit." Balder called back Duraludon right away. "Guys, we gotta pump it up real quick before it caves in!"[break][break]

As soon as the steel dragon was in its pokeball, the man proceeded to throw another pokeball in the air, calling his Tyranitar. "Use earthquake now! Stabilize the cavern and shatter these rocks!" The creature proceeded to jump onto the ground, sending a tremor into the ground to shatter the soil and explode the rocks of the Stealth Rock while also attempting to stabilize the cavern's quake.

With an audible sound, the stealth rocks that formed the corner of a wall proceeded to shatter, revealing gifts held within. The team quickly collected these before preparing their assault on another location. Balder proceeded to call Leviathan back as he observed their new member focus on a new weak spot.[break][break]

It seemed like he had a good eye, since he was releasing a Twister against the opposite corner that they had just destroyed. Worth a shot. Balder summoned his Duraludon. "Tower, break it." The skyscraper dragon roared before running where the twister collided and spinning on itself to give a tail slap against the invisible rock with the move Breaking Swipe

The actions of the master sure kept going against their expectations. Declaring himself as the "King of Fighters"? Not what was to be expected. But the last part of his speech, where they needed to prove themselves by displaying techniques that would leave the man in awe. Plus, the stance he took... A complete imitation of a Sawk.[break][break]

Noticing that trait, Balder decided to summon his own Sawk onto the field. The man observed the stance of his pokemon, analyzing it. "Ushi, Bulk up. I'm going to recreate it." The creature bowed to show its understanding before taking a pose again and concentrating its energy, its muscles visibly expanding a bit. The muscles had thickened, raising its attack and defense.[break][break]

Balder nodded at the observation and proceeded to take a deep breath. Then, he took the stance he had learned earlier, circulating energy throughout his body. Not only does his Steel Skin activate, but he can also feel a fire raging through his muscles, as if they had tightened and were ready to unleash an explosive force.[break][break]

But then... The mythical creature that was tagging along Incinemask/Kazimir proceeded to lunge towards the master. A bold move, yet it held no preparations whatsoever. It seemed like Kazimir was getting more and more hasty as time progressed. Impatience could be dangerous for him, especially in this situation. And if the master was really the epitome of physical combat... The Urshifu would get destroyed.[break][break]

Balder proceeded to hurry up, getting between the Urshifu and the old master. As the bear unleashed its Wicked Blow, Balder proceeded to tighten his defense. The hit proceeded to connect, a critical hit that pierced his guard, making the ex-gym leader lose his breath and seem wobbly on his legs. But...[break][break]

"Alolan-Style..." He was not down yet. Most likely due to the added resistance from his steel skin and the previous Bulk Up, the man had some strength left in him. And he was in the best position to fight back right now, possibly show the master what his true worth was. The man took a step forward, shattering the wood underneath his foot and surrounding it as he circulated the energy through his body. He then brought his hands to his side, a light gleaming in his eyes.[break][break]

"COUNTER!!!"[break][break]

Bringing his hands forward, Balder pushed all the energy he had accumulated into his body towards the body of the Urshifu, trying to return double the damage that he suffered while striking as hard as he could. While this wasn't the perfected move that a fighting pokemon would do, the man did hope it would be sufficient to have at least the Urshifu back up.

A taste of human flesh huh? Interesting theory. "If that were the case, they would've been more aggressive than the actions they displayed, and fight each other for the food. But I agree that we can't push that theory away." For a creature that hunts alone, if it had tasted human flesh, logically it would still hunt alone as to not share the food with others. But who knows what could've happened for this group.[break][break]

As the Galarian Ambassador indicated that he would not give his independence away so easily, the Alolan man couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. Seems like the man was a stubborn one, possibly wanted to pay them back for hunting him but that's another matter. The fact he was ready to go was good enough.[break][break]

Nodding at his Lycanroc, Balder and the dog started moving forward. Remiel most likely followed suit, but his statement proceeded to make Balder stop and burst out laughing. "What, are you afraid the masses think you eloped with Hoenn's biggest rebel? The guy who ditched League and the Galarian Ambassador going out for some nightly activities? I highly doubt they'd promote these rumors." They did need to hurry up though, before the Midnight Lycanrocs did something.

The sighting of wild pokemons had grown a lot more ever since the war finished and reparations of the affected areas were underway. Was it because people had abandoned their pokemons, or that the creatures had seen their masters die so they returned to their natural habitat. And this was now causing trouble to tourists and workers around the town.[break][break]

Instead of freeloading at Stormy's place, the alolan man had decided to assist the city and work on the situation to make it better. Thus, Balder had headed out, doing his best to redirect tourists if needed and relocating the wild pokemons to a safer location for them. Today had been one of these days too.[break][break]

After spending his whole day doing what one would say is a ranger duty, the man was walking back towards his temporary home, drinking a can of beer on the way. A cold one after a days work always feels good. But as he kept marching, he heard a voice scream "Father" behind him, followed by a tug on his shirt. Surprised, the ex-gym leader spitted his drink out. Quickly, he wiped his mouth to turn around and look at the lady that had grabbed hi shirt.[break][break]

Blonde hair, a white dress... Who was she? A lost child? Perhaps. But her features.... It seemed like she was an adult. Although small, one would say. Yet... Balder couldn't help but shake a sense of familiarity from the girl. Nonetheless, the man proceeded to put one knee on the ground, looking at the girl. "I don't think I'm your father, young lady. Do you know his name? I might be able to direct you to him" Couldn't exactly leave her alone now, could he? Especially with the sun slowly setting, who knows what could happen at night.

A new scavenger proceeded to join them, as the lady that assisted the team hurried back home for some emergencies. With his assistance, the group was able to break through and arrive in front of a Probopass... and a wall of invisible Stealth Rocks. Even a Rapid Spin from the Torcoal was unable to break through.[break][break]

The taillow proceeded to deliver a small but piercing Peck into the wall, creating a fissure to allow their attacks to finish the part of the wall. As Lars and Ruby proceeded to use Hurricane at the crack, Balder summoned Leviathan the Gyarados. "Do it, aim at the same location."[break][break]

The wind around the Gyarados' tail began to concentrate, making the tail glow a light blue color. After charging the attack a few seconds, the creature swung his tail towards the Stealth Rock wall, sending a massive blade of wind at it. Upon colliding, the blade exploded and released the concentrated winds into the crack to force it to explode from the inside.
