The moment the nameless grunt began to threaten the kid, an audible metal twisting sound erupted from the jail. Under Balder's hands, the metal pipes forming the enclosure of his cage had been crushed. As the pipes were crushed under his fingers, the Alolan's stare was solely directed at the man. A silent threat to try it if he wished to have his neck suffer the same fate.[break][break]

Moving his gaze back to the child before him, he listened to her explanation. She wasn't defenseless and knew how to fight back, judging from what she was saying. A good thing in this time and age. Yet, when she told her origin story... "Another victim of the Kanto Invasions huh... I feel you on that, for I lost something as well during there events."[break][break]

The man proceeded to sit down on the ground and looked at the girl. "I'd love to accept your cookies and water. However, if I did, not just that dumb fuck behind you, but the higher ups might not be too happy with your actions. Are you certain you want to go through with it?"

A rattling of chains and restraints could be heard from the deepest darkness of the jail. Suddenly, a heavy step was heard, followed by another. A figure slowly emerged into the light filtering through the bars, unveiling the Alolan that had been kept here for weeks now. His beard had grown, covering a portion of his face.[break][break]

As he grabbed the bars, he noticed the rocket goon that was standing a few steps back. Yet the voice he heard... Didn't match that figure. He looked around before looking down, seeing the small child that had called out to him. The ex-bodyguard proceeded to place a knee on the ground to be at her level.[break][break]

"What are you doing here little one? Did Rocket kidnap you? I didn't expect them to stoop so low as to kidnap children, but I'm not surprised either..."

The fact the man agreed to this so readily was actually surprising. As the restraints fell off, the Alolan got up, massaging his wrists. It had been a while since the shackles were removed. Being freed from those was almost a foreign feeling. A welcome one however. The man proceeded to sit on the table, close to Chu-E as he grabbed the Malasada and ate it in one bite, not noticing the third presence that lurked in the shadows and was watching them.[break][break]

"So, except the obvious of why and when the fuck you became a Rocket grunt, mind telling me what the hell you are? Clearly, you're not an avatar. You don't seem to have control over this affliction, this parasite of yours, so I doubt it comes from a legendary pokemon. And yet, it feeds on an Avatar's energy... It makes no sense."[break][break]

Sometimes, one would forget that Balder wasn't just all muscle, that he had a brain to back it all up. He didn't study the story and legends of every regions for no reason after all. And while the tales he had heard did reference to conflicts between the deities, none ever came close to describing a parasite that would hunt the energy produced by these overpowered creatures.

And his interest wasn't even because of the power it would grant (Not like he would need it considering he's an avatar), but rather for the positive gains out of it, the bond established with his teammates and the harnessing of the natural energy to bring his state to peak condition.[break][break]

While noah faber had been chosen to grant him the power needed to save the others, Zac had been selected for the purity of his ambitions, of his approach towards pokemons, nature and life. A way of life that ensured this ability would not be used for the worst of deeds. With a smile, the Alolan placed his hand on the shoulder of the gym leader. Upon these words, he proceeded to take a few steps back, before his face turned stern. "Now then, we can begin your training now. Step one is for you to identify a pose in which you are comfortable, yet can express your nature. The moment she said "Mr. Schwartz", the man's face distorted and he raised a hand before her. "Please drop, the Mr. and stuff. We're equals, no hierarchy here. Just call me Balder." He proceeded to lower his arm and let her finish what she wanted to say.[break][break]

So she still wanted to provide him with the badge. She was a good judge, able to go out of the established rules and reward actions as she saw fit. "I will accept the badge. However..." He couldn't just accept it like this. Not after he broke the rule she had established. It's his fault if he didn't read the regulations surrounding this challenge after all.[break][break]

"Let's do it this way. If you ever acquire a power, kind of like me..." He proceeded to raise his left hand and started emitting a strong but warm light from it. "Seek me out. I'll help you. Do not tell the league or anyone else. For your own safety." The light faded out slowly.[break][break]

"Also, you're free to call in a favor, or request. And I'll try to fulfill it as best as I can." This one was a dangerous request. But she had proven to not be the kind of person that is demanding, thus surely she wouldn't ask for anything outrageous... right? They had been out for almost the whole night. Both of the individuals needed a night of sleep. Plus, it's not like this machine would suddenly vanish. They had time. As they reached the edge of the forest, Remiel granted Balder a business card, containing the prince's information, on where to be reached. Rustboro... "Been a while since I went over there. I'll drop by soon, hopefully."[break][break]

After giving the man a pat on the back, the Alolan started to walk away. "Try not to get lost in a forest alone at night again, and stay safe." Upon these final words, Balder vanished into the sky atop his Braviary, heading back to his temporary refuge of the Evergrande Grand Hotel.

Maybe Stella couldn't feel the cold, due to its steel nature...[break][break]

But Balder sure as hell could feel it. He's Alolan, they don't have that many cold areas back there, the seasons are always usually warm. And whenever he went in cold zones, he always wore a winter outfit. Even though his body borrowed steel properties, he could still feel the weather.[break][break]

...They needed to finish this. Fast.[break][break]

"Full Burst. Flash Cannon, Steel Roller. Unleash everything." Upon receiving the order, the Celesteela emitted a high-pitch noise. The reactors distanced themselves slightly from the body, before they started rolling around the duo, forming a high-speed cylinder akin to a Steel Roller. The output of the reactors suddenly increased, emitting a brilliant light and intense flames.[break][break]

With the increased speed, the starship-like creature grew closer to the Charizard. The reactors stopped spinning, stabilizing over and under the duo as they reached the gym leader. With an Extended arm, the Alolan proceeded to touch Alexei's back. "Do I need to lift you up or is touching your back good enough?"

And there comes the Jailor, as well as the individual who captured him. The "betrayer" one could say, considering how they had met before all of this. The "Master" couldn't help but laugh at his "Student"'s reaction. "The principle of this is somewhat... Complicated to be honest." Balder recalled the koala creature before giving the pokeball to the original owner. "The thing I did initially was to gather the energy of the nature around into me. Doing so allows me to bring my body to its peak condition and somewhat beyond its limit."[break][break]

While forcing Stella to rise up and use it as a mount was an advantage in this race... But also a disadvantage. The speed the Ultra beast grants him makes it easy enough to catch up to the Charizard. But if there was a need to turn at any points, or difficult maneuvers, this would be difficult.[break][break]

As the duo was rapidly approaching the Gym Leader and his flying lizard, Balder for Celesteela to move over the competitors of this race. The Alolan then tried to lean forward, extending his arm to try and "tag" Alexei... But he missed his mark as the Celesteela kept flying forward. "Damn it..."[break][break]

"Stella, reduce output and turn around." The creature emitted a metallic noise in agreement, reducing the strength of the reactors to allow them to turn around and try to catch up to the Gym Leader once more.
