And thus, the Gym leader agreed to the offer. Balder nodded upon hearing his answer. "I agree that it's weird, both the method of execution and how I had to go to get you interested in it. But I couldn't outright reveal the secret that I learnt to someone who I didn't know would wish to learn it."[break][break]

"If it can help though, the poses and everything else can be skipped once you properly understand the secrets and working of this technique. Its true purpose is mainly to help the user focus on the image, on the purpose and goal they wish to reach while using it, as well as properly synchronize with the pokemon." On the question of legality, Balder couldn't help but laugh.[break][break]

"It's about as legal as an Avatar is. But since even Dahlia isn't aware of this power, I guess it could be considered illegal? Sort of? Anyways this isn't supposed to be a super evil power. So long as you use it to protect others, it won't be bad." Power is only power after all. The only reason it can be associated to good and evil, justice and crime, is dependent on the user.[break][break]

"As for where I learnt this technique... Ever heard of a legendary dojo hidden within the valleys of Fallarbor town?" It was supposedly legendary, that's the reason why they all went out to seek it. All 5 of the originals. But an expert of fighting like Noah would be able to confirm if it was truly legendary, or simply a secret location.

"Never been in a battle huh..." Balder proceeded to throw the pokeball, unleashing the Komala held within. The Alolan smirked. "How fitting is it, for it to be an Alolan pokemon." But the smirk didn't stay long. It was time to get serious. As the wind blew, the man began to move his arms. At first, it seemed like nothing would happen... until the Komala stood up.[break][break]

The little bear creature began to mimic the movements of the trainer, without even looking at him. It was like the actions were ingrained in its dna, its soul. The two of them were synchronized, the same movements executed within a millisecond of difference. The man finished the pose by extending his hands skyward, holding a 45 degree position instead of being straight up. The Komala was reproducing the same pose. [Both of them were praising the sun /shot][break][break]

An intense energy began to emerge from the Komala, visible to the naked eye. Flowers began to bloom both on its usual trunk as well as across the sand. Soon after, a beam of green light the size of the creature exploded forward before crashing against the rock wall at the other side of the beach, causing an explosion of flowers and natural energy. The Alolan proceeded to look at the watcher. "So, what do you think?"

The lady sure wasn't about to let go of this opportunity so easily huh? Her deal was certainly alluring. And with the competency she had shown during the battle, even if he was a challenger in this setting, she did have the proper handling of pokemons that would be required to master the technique.[break][break]

Yet... There was a limitation. The Alolan couldn't impart this knowledge to just about anyone. While the master ( SPIRAL ) had granted him the opportunity to train two individuals, a third one seemed impossible at the moment. The golden 5 wouldn't be the same if a 6th character joined the ranks.[break][break]

"Hmm... An interesting offer, to say the least. But this power I would grant you is definite worth more then a badge." He needed to gauge her interest, why she wished to know and learn of this power. "To begin with, why are you so interested in learning this art? What do you hope to accomplish with it? Is it simply out of greed, or do you have something you wish to do with it?" A test of will would be a good start, to judge if she was worthy.

As this was happening a month or two before the war, the man had no idea who the prince was talking about. But his gaze grew stern, brows frowned. "Are you saying there's already a Megalopolan around here? In Hoenn? And... Hold on, technology? How did it look like?"[break][break]

The fact it was machinery and not Solgaleo itself actually brought a sense of relief to the man... soon replaced by concern. If they had the technology to already travel between worlds, acquiring Solgaleo only allowed them to further improve this technology... Thus the war was most likely going to happen sooner than expected. He'll have to warn @goode about this. (But since it already happened, no use doing a thread for that lol)

A game of tag... in a storm. That's not one of the best ideas, and was starting to raise some concerns for him. "I don't mind doing tag since I'm pretty certain I'll be safe, but ain't that risky? Especially considering I'd have to jump on your charizard to touch you and avoid tackling? Since I'm riding reactors?"[break]

But as he finished his words, a blizzard arose, obscuring the view and allowing the Gym Leader to take a head start. "Oh god damn it..." One advantage of these reactors is that they were hot enough to melt the snow falling on it and getting close, but this would be too dangerous to continue as it is.[break][break]

"Stella, rise up!" The Alolan turned the reactors around to head towards Celesteela's location, who was still blindfolded. Upon hearing the voice of his owner, the metal creature started rising up towards the sky, leaving a trail of smoke in its weight. The man proceeded to embark on its back while the arm-reactors resumed their position. "FULL THROTTLE, FORWARD!!" And upon this order, the ultra beast oriented its body to lean forward as all reactors lit up, sending the duo flying towards the direction Alexei and the Charizard went.

The defense was going well so far... Until Cubchoo's attack struck the opposing pokemon and the music stopped. Balder immediately recalled the Shadow Shieldon before the Gym Leader could notice it properly. Then, a sigh followed as the light and energy died from around his body. "Guess that's what happens when you build a quick team to try something."[break][break]

In the end, the test he wanted to produce had been successful. His defensive shell was still able to withstand attacks, and the power of the Z-Pose was also absolute. The original purpose was done. As he started to call back the rest of the team, the gym leader approached him, asking how he stopped the Z-Move her team produced.[break][break]

The man proceeded to point at his feet. He hadn't moved from the spot. "Sadly, as I said earlier, I'm not going to reveal anything as you didn't succeed in making me move from this spot. But I can tell you one thing about what you're asking: It's something you know, yet is completely different."

At the question of if he was a pokemon, the man couldn't help but laugh. "I'm just as much a pokemon as you are. Can we even consider ourselves human since we are avatars? But no, I didn't acquire any form of elemental prowess outside of my actual powers." The shimmer and the menacing feel vanished as Balder released the energy he had accumulated.[break][break]

"Of course, this display doesn't reach the potential that an avatar's powers produce, but its true strength lies in something else. I'll show you that before we begin the actual training. But for that... Any pokemons you can lend me? Preferably one that you know is weak or doesn't know any strong moves. I'd like to use one of yours to show properly what I mean."[break][break]

Even though Zac was ready to be trained already, Balder wanted to avoid missing the mark by displaying the power of the Z-Pose using his own team. Thus, using the gym leader's pokemon that he knows isn't up to par would be a way to properly display the true possibility of the Z-Pose.

The alarmness expressed by Noah was understandable.. And so was the question about the pose. Balder couldn't help but let out a sigh. "Yes and no. The dance, the movements and the pose are but a mean to an end. Plus, an adequate way to illustrate the process to those that need to learn it. But once you have mastered it properly, these steps can be skipped to the actual result, and use this strength for its true purpose. Because what I displayed just now, is not the full potential of this ability."[break][break]

The Alolan stretched and looked at the gym leader. "There is another purpose to this technique. I could even say its true goal was this from the start. Through this technique, this pose, you can establish harmony with a pokemon, and allow not only yourself, but your companion as well, to display strength beyond its regular means."[break][break]

Sadly, the man couldn't display this in such an enclosed space. Plus, now wasn't the time to show this yet. Starting with the basics would be the best option, and to not rush it. "So, what's your verdict Noah? Do you want to learn it? Keep in mind that I'm only imparting what I know, but practice will be what brings you the result. And that you cannot teach it to anyone else."

The irony of their matchup, of Light and Shadows, was something the man wasn't aware. But if he would know about it, it'd be something funny, something he'd appreciate nonetheless. Conflicting concepts does not mean harmony was not possible. One cannot exist without the other after all. Some could say they were two sides of the same coin even.[break][break]

The fact she twirled in close brought a gentle smile to his face. It seemed like the lady was back to her old self, the one he knew from years ago. And her comment about not losing his steps made him chuckle. "Dancing is part of the Alolan blood. It would be hard to lose it, especially with how it became a part of me."[break][break]

The song ended... But another one began, slightly different and with a slower tempo. One that felt almost more romantically inclined. Balder raised a brow and looked at the speaker. "That's... not something I thought was in that device. That's odd." He directed his attention to "Fiona" again. "Shall we continue dancing? Or do you prefer we move to another location?"

"You're right, this team can't... But I can." Upon these words, Balder's hair ignited, unleashing rays of light as they began to imitate a longer haircut going down his back. The man's chest and skin began to glisten, giving a small glow around his body. As the transformation completed the first stage, Balder proceeded to grab a pokeball from his belt. Dark in color, the insignia of a shield in a purple shade was embedded into it.[break][break]

"Alright Tate, it's time to emerge." The pokeball opened, unleashing a beam, not of light, but of what seemed to be darkness. From the shadows created by the beam, a semi-crystalized Shieldon appeared. Without any order, the creature knew what it had to do, as it raised a massive protect before Balder and the rest of the team to block the incoming G-Move.[break][break]

On the Joltik and Totodile side, things were being... chaotic. While the water pokemon was being chaotic and jumping around at the prospect of fighting, the small spider-like creature was concerned about their odds. Yet, it decided to go head-on against the Toxtricity that was using the Overdrive. Firing an Electroweb to dampen the assault, the creature tanked the hit, feeling less damage due to its electric type. The totodile, under the swagger effect, started using Hydro Pump to attack, but collapsed as it was shooting water, hitting itself in the confusion.[break][break]

Against the Sparkling Arias, Carbink couldn't help but raise a Light Screen to dampen the assault, but Cubchoo wasn't going the pacifist route. Aiming for the Lapras, it unleashed its Frost Breath to clash with the Arias, and hopefully break through to damage them with a critical hit as the bear suffered the damage.[break]

Notes: Balder "Mega Evolves", the light coming from him might blind Melody or her team (Up to you).[break]
Summons Shadow Shieldon, who uses Protect to block the G-Move. This Protect is stronger than regular due to shadow powers.[break]
Joltik uses Electroweb to dampen the Overdrive attack and takes the remaining damage.[break]
Totodile hits itself in its confusion due to Swagger.[break]
Carbink raises a Light Screen for the team.[break]
Cubchoo fires a Frost Breath (Critical Hit guaranteed) to clash with the Sparkling Arias and damage one of the two.

The Alolan smiled as she took his hand and accepted the dance. Leading her, he gently brought them to an empty area void of tombstones and such, where they wouldn't fall whilst they danced. Once they reached the location, the man took position, being mindful of where he would place his hands, so as not to cause her discomfort like earlier.[break][break]

Thus, he began to dance, following the rhythm of the music and matching her movement so as to not go too quickly or ruin the moment. Also not to step on her toes. That would hurt. Still, the man could help but be lost in her smile. A smile he hadn't seen for years, that seemed devoid of worries as she was falling back into the good times they had in the past. Maybe it was best to not say anything and keep this moment going. Thus, silently, he continued the dance, his eyes looking at her face gently.
