To his alarm, Adrian and Yveltal find themselves in a world of aurum—where a golden moon waxes overhead, and the world itself teeming with, in a word, ambrosia. The furnishings of an otherwordly plane, and although they were brought here at the site of battle, he feels himself slipping into an almost peaceful bliss...[break][break]

"...Then I've... died?" Yveltal shakes its head, rejecting the conclusion before offering this one insights it did not posses. It guides him along—what distance is covered he cannot begin to guess—through the fog and ardor, until the aspect stops abruptly. Adrian steps ahead of it, as yet unaware... But as he casts his gaze along the winding road ahead, an implaccable fear takes hold of him.[break][break]

Something is amiss... The seals have been broken... All of humanity's grudges—their envy, hatred and fear... They are now gone from this place. Quickly, we must go...

The jump to this place is enough to make him forget the likewise golden aura of HOWITZER tailing after him. As Yveltal turns to take their leave of this place, he reaches out to her, to make sure she finds the way back—something Yveltal would find contrary to their mission... "Wait, I—" But Yveltal magicks them away before he can say another word or reach for a pokeball. And so her likeness faded...[break][break]

Though perhaps she will find her way back, as she had before; only time would tell.[break][break]

In the moments leading up to the attack, Yveltal imparts on Adrian a vexing dilemma; a host of souls are gathered here, all by the interventions of Palkia and its subduers. PALKIA'S SPATIAL REND inevitably reaches him, with Adrian only narrowly escaping. For a fleeting moment he is witness to reality's unmaking as he watches with discerning eyes space—the gossamer tethering all realities—SUNDERED.[break][break]

He braces for that biting sensation accompanying destruction, but it never reaches him only for the fact that one of his pokemon erupts from its pokeball voluntarily. Its body as his bulwark, Adrian manages to weather the attack, but his pokemon does not. He can tell that it was HOWITZER, all while Yveltal is ahead of them, preoccupied by the growing unrest on the mountain... Its obligations are its own.[break][break]

He can see enough to know she is unwell, but not lost to him... Not yet.[break][break]

Around them all they could see the Triad's plan foiled; the failed meteor impact, the humbling of Father Winter... But Adrian has an eye for the host of souls returning in unprecedented turnabout. Yveltal was responsible to them, and by proxy, Adrian too was bound to this service for his part. While many pokemon begin returning to the earth, they turn their attention to FATHER WINTER and the BOUND PALKIA.[break][break]

Yveltal rises into the sky to match the UNOWN's configuration before amassing its coveted power; streaks of violet arc from a crimson epicenter as a massive charge is brought to bear, roiling with a terrible power that howls as it is unleashed. It means to PETRIFY and thus bind them here to this place of power...[break][break]

Where Adrian was concerned, his part in this far from over—he is delayed as something begs his attention at the corner of his eye. On the tarnished steps before Howitzer's urn, something shimmers with renewed life... Withdrawing Howitzer to its pokeball, he is hard pressed to turn his gaze back to the fighting above.[break][break]

As he races up the stairs to join the others, he realizes there is something else racing to catch up with him, running as if on wings... Adrian would not believe his eyes, though they do not betray him. As he reaches the summit where the FATHER WINTER makes his retreat, he hopes to close the gap between them... Enough to weaken him.[break][break]

And yet they are so very far away now... But it is not in him to surrender this chance.[break][break]

Putting away the potion, Adrian gives the pokemon a once over before returning it to its pokeball, turning his attention to the burning sky's grim ardor. He begins to wonder where Rowan might be...[break][break]

Such thoughts cut short when FATHER WINTER arrives upon the summit.[break][break]

Though he is undeniably interwoven in the plot against Hoenn, it is more than that—this is a vendetta. Something personal. Doubtlessly others are similarly disposed; he is not the only one to close in on their location. Though at a time like this, with the Unown in play, he would have been keen to have Martin somewhere on hand.[break][break]

We are beyond words now, I know...

From its aerial vantage Yveltal circumnavigates most every obstacle, breaking ground where Adrian cannot. And though many threats appear, Adrian knows the works of the Unown to be the most compelling. Perhaps mistakenly, they target the flitting eyeball and its master—a DARK PULSE radiates outwards, testing the integrity of their defense—or at least preoccupying the UNOWN. Surely they could be made vincible...[break][break]

For Adrian's part he makes the slow climb towards the Primal Point, almost assured to be accosted somewhere along the way, though he would believe himself prepared...[break][break]

A long time ago Rocket had poised itself to free Adrian from the persecution of the League, which had accumulated evidence relating to a string of INCIDENTS pertaining to events surrounding this very mountain. In securing his freedom, they had won him over to their side...[break][break]

"Return," He speaks calmly to the Copperajah as it sustains a telling blow from Gardevoir's AURA SPHERE, crushing it against the earth, which trembled underneath its berth. This time he did not seem interested in the pokeballs along his belt, however... He brandishes only an open hand, as if directing something unseen.[break][break]

"I can't imagine it's easy to understand, with so vague an answer..." A darkness claimed the mountain, stoked by his intent, as the shadow of the specter loomed over them. A marred stretch of grass roiled where something began to rise from the fel pit of earth; a stygian cocoon emblazoned with Death, unfurling its wings to reveal YVELTAL standing before them both, disturbing them with its rancor...[break][break]

"So I'll say this: I act in service to something greater than either. It has many asks, but I do not refuse them. Maybe there could have been a way..." Adrian seems to ponder on it for a moment, but realized taking the chance always opened up risks the League would not let him go after revealing himself to them...[break][break]

"But it seems wrong of anyone to ask the League to compromise on the institutions upon which it stands." Exceptions cannot be made for the privileged few without exposing the League to further corruption. And by his reckoning, it was.[break][break]

"So I will do what I must... As should you."[break]
