he feels the nostalgia hitting him when he sees the real deal before him. it's like he's met him before, but he's just unsure what the timeline was.

"so, what now?"

he turns to the catfisher with a glare, voice sharp as it is cold. he takes another sip before he speaks up again.

"maybe you should hit him up, y'know, just to make it up to me?"

another word was about to follow it, but he holds back.

"the plan is to get the culprit. simple as that."

or at least he thinks it's simple though. coming up with a plan to deal with a problem was just not worth it for an obscure person he doesn't care about, which is their client in this case.

wolfgang starts to move forward, following a trail of trampled crops. he has nothing prepared, but if this was just some simple farm problem, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

"it's just some wild pokemom. how hard can it be?"

a scoff and a motion of his hand attempts to dissuade luka from thinking much of his comment. it was just a passing thought he never really intended to be heard, though he didn't care enough either to keep it hidden.

intricacies of living beings were as complex to him as the unown phenomenon during the soiree. part of him doesn't like how they're unpredictable, especially when he has to touch their udders to milk them.

"well, that seems to work," he responds, observing luka.

he tries to do the same. a hand hovers over the miltank's head, except, instead of a soft, delicate touch, wolfgang's was more rough and crude. there was a bit of grip on his pet, and a little bit of force, that results to a different reaction.

the miltank moos disapprovingly and then moves away from wolfgang's direction.

wolfgang stands up from his seat, the stool being tipped over, as he stares down the miltank that inches to luka. "huh? what are you doing, moomoo fuck? i'm being fucking gentle! get back here!"

the miltank doesn't budge.

what was going to happen next? horse riding? wolfgang has been on multiple of these but this was the first time he got catfished. he could say it was too surreal that he cannot give his appropriate responses.

"yeah, first dates."

he holds his drink up to match the other's toast before taking a sip of his drink. daydrinking is a good thing to do, especially in a cafe filled with millenials and zoomers.

the sip is then evolves to him drinking the entire thing in one go.

the unfezant helps them out. a heavy sigh escapes wolfgang as he releases his typhlosion to help out. if it's going to get someone dirty, at least it won't be him.

when the two pokemon start to look for a feast, wolfgang gets his attention to the item of interest from the rotom. the metal seemed curious enough that wolfgang felt polite enough to help himself with it.

"may i?"

he swipes the chunk off of her and goes to do various simple tests with it. texture and hardness that he can feel with his palm doesn't fit anything he's touched before. he gets it up, rays from the sun causing it to glint, but there was no visual sign that indicated what material it was made of.

he then dangles the metal with his hand, waiting for yui's hands, before dropping it.

"yup. this is nothing i've worked with before, nor is it a common material. where'd you get this?"

"you here again?"

the shirt he's been wearing had been soiled by dirt from foraging in his backyard. the typhlosion that had been helping him has been sent back to solitary confinement in its ball for making him look like a ground-type.

he turns to find a visitor in his place. there's very little people that come to him, with previous clients being one of the only ones. he squints at her to make sure, which does little since their last meeting was her in a mask.

"i'm kinda busy getting mushrooms for my typhlosion. got something that's more important than that?"

it was very high on the list. to be fair though, there's nothing much on it to start with.

the unfezant were startled, and apparently, so was miss luka when she just got suddenly called by a stranger off the side of the street.

wolfgang doesn't get fazed by social constructs. manners and such were thrown out of the window outside of certain circumstances that give him leeway to be more of himself.

"people 'round here jus' answer calls from anyone? shouldn't ya be thinking twice before talkin' to strangers?"

he was always painted as untrustworthy by himself in his point of view that any response to his aggressive tones that sound pleasant were something he'd doubt. still, she was coming to help.

she's weird, he thinks to himself.

"anyways, guess you have my thanks. call me wolfgang."

wolfgang turns for a moment to look at the miltank in front of him, then back to her. "you know how to milk these?" it seems self explanatory, but not everything was as simple as it sounded in practice.

the difference was way off.

matias silph: elite four and military captain. it was his looks that was promised to him and not this.

"do they have fuckin' whiskey in this place?"

a sigh escapes him despite trying to hold it in, all while he pinches the bridge of his nose. when he looks back up, there's a smile that greets the other. it was forced, but no one needs to know that.

"make it pumpkin spice or somethin'. that's gotta be a cafe flavor, right?"

izzy's embarrassment had his rosy skin get more accentuated by the rush of blood. cute. he scoffs, and then chuckles.

"good for you. don't let me catch you in one, ya hear?"

he'd rather not have the people he knows be connected with rocket, but there's little he can do with that situation.

stern eyes frisk his person, though he finds nothing that suggests anything that goes against his claim. not that he'd do anything with it but use it as an excuse to shout, he supposed.

"if that's the case, then what's the plan here?"

wolfgang already has his mapped out. the ravaged fields leave little to be hidden and everything was as exposed as it can be. he turns to izzy, waiting for an answer to see if he's in the same page.

the hunt was on.

wolfgang looks around the vicinity for any signs of pokemon that might have caused the destruction of the fields on a local littleroot farm. mowed down stalks were present and obvious, but they lead to nowhere at first sight.

whether it's stalling or waiting for an opportune time, wolfgang's scan of his surroundings eventually find an izzy stumbling his way towards the site in question.

"well, well, well, who do we have here?" he teases. furrowed brows effectively relaxed at the sight, all while he crosses his arms at the sight of an old colleague. "what are ya up to?"

context clues tell him the obvious, but he'd rather have it confirmed by the other.

it already got his patience tested to have this job pushed to him.

unable to turn down any kind of requests from acquaintances since he has so little connections already, he's forced to help a friend with a ranch work they were supposed to attend to. he's to be aptly compensated, but there's still something infuriating with doing something he doesn't want to do.

he sits down in front of a miltank on a stool, trying to figure out how he's going to start his work, when someone unlucky passes by on a nearby road. wolfgang quickly turns and calls for her attention.

"hey! you!" he shouts. "can you help me with something?"

his voice demanded authority, though that was easy to pull off when one is nearing a boiling point after working the rest of the chores when said friend didn't even clock in. he's been under the sun long enough that a farmer's tan might be obvious.

despite being tagged in with the wrong character, wolfgang finds it in his heart to forgive the thot he found on the dating app that is definitely not that restricts certain body types from swiping.

"well, thanks," he says accompanying the apology.

he starts to think twice of his decision to come to the cafe though, since the person in front of him doesn't have multiple eyes coming out of their face. he was going to test if he's into freaky shit.

"you look, uh, cute too."

like the date he found on his app, he, too, wasn't the best when it comes to talking to people. it sounded like it was a tongue in cheek pouch comment, but in reality, he just was being respectful.
