The Nihilego takes a dive into the small pool they found at the heart of the ruins. It was too small and dangerous for Remiel to enter himself, especially without any diving gear. But he trusted the jellyfish could endure it despite its Rock-typing. ULTRA BEASTS were truly a marvel.

Before long, Esfrit reemerges with a RELICANTH captured in its tentacles. The ancient fish struggles against this capture, flailing about with a MUD SLAP. And, while it is successful in breaking itself free, it is buried beneath a ROCK SLIDE before it can squirm its way back into the water.

Remiel pulls out an empty Luxury Ball afterward and taps it against the exposed tail sticking out from the rubble. "Let's go now."

Before long, however, another dragon in the woodlands also begins to show interest in Remiel's granola bar. A DRACOZOLT waddles over from the bush. At first, it seems wary. But, when Remiel shows no sign of immediate aggression, it goes the rest of the distance.[break][break]

Unfortunately, Ladon shows aggression the moment it realizes the Dracozolt wants a bite too. The Tatsugiri spits a glob of MUDDY WATER at the abomination before long, shooing it away. Remiel, of course, chastises his companion. But he is otherwise unbothered.[break][break]

The TATSUGIRI on Remiel's shoulder is a curious one. It watches with great interest as Remiel sits down on a log and pulls out a granola bar from his pack. As he begins to unwrap it, LADON eyes him eagerly for a taste, flopping a tail against him.[break][break]

They're out patrolling ROUTE 115 today and the exiled prince had decided to take a little break. Though he's unwilling to offer his Tatsugiri a piece of his snack at first, however, eventually he gives in. "Don't make this a habit now. You're to stay on a strict diet." He assures the small dragon.[break][break]

Perhaps they had always been fated to have their Doublade clash. It was certainly beginning to seem that way to Remiel. The sheer energy emanating from their respective Z-Moves was enough to summon a storm within the cavern.[break][break]

In the end, however, both would come to cancel each other out in their own unique way.[break][break]

While Jayden's attack managed to pierce his opponent's defenses and PARALYZE the other Doublade, Remiel's would soon BANISH the other from the field completely. It was not truly gone— not permanently, anyway. But now the Rocket Admin had no Pokémon on the field, while the former Rocket Admin could hardly use his own.[break][break]

Clutching at the new injury seeping blood down his arm, the royal steadies his stance and winces. The determination in his eyes to persuade Jayden to see reason, however, does not waver.[break][break]

"If you stay on this path of HATRED, Jayden... you'll soon face your own judgment."

The prince mutters as feels his body growing weaker with fatigue by the minute. It takes a lot for him to simply raise a Doublade and point it at his former ally, but he does so anyway. There was no showing weakness in front of a Rocket, after all.[break][break]

"And it never ends pretty... I promise you that." He drops his Doublade afterward, letting them hang off his arms by their ribbons before he casts a stiletto through an opening in the cave ceiling. "But I won't stop until I break you free from Team Rocket. I will do what I must to see this IDEAL WORLD through... and make you part of it."[break][break]

And, with one last look at Jayden, Remiel Calcifet disappears in the blink of an eye.[break][break]

The phantoms that swarm them are many.[break][break]

In fact, an endless stream of Fluttermane seems to emerge from the mist with no clear end in sight. Taliyah Calcifet, possessing Remiel's body, manages to strike many down and banish a few others. Remiel's Illumina Garchomp, on the other hand, is soon overwhelmed. It succumbs to the onslaught and FAINTS before it is returned to its Luxury Ball.[break][break]

Knowing a losing battle when she sees one, Taliyah quickly scans the area for an exit before pointing at it with a Doublade. "Right there, niece! We must run to higher ground!" She urges Elise before parrying another Shadow Ball away.[break][break]

Now that they've lost the illumination of the Garchomp, the shadows within the cavern work against them once more. Thankfully, the light from the Misdreavus' MYSTICAL FIRE soon aids them in the dragon's place. It even manages to fend off several Fluttermane, granting them a momentary window to conduct their escape.[break][break]

Remiel had underestimated exactly how many squads they would send. And, although his LIGHTNING STILETTOS allowed him to traverse large swathes of the encampment in the blink of an eye, he was only one man. Nevertheless, the avatar managed to stealthily take down a set of four grunts before any of them had a chance to throw a Pokeball.[break][break]

The electrified staff in his hands shifts into a short baton as he prepares to rendezvous with Noel. Just as he starts moving again, however, a SNIPE SHOT whizzes right past his head. The narrow miss is all he needs to quickly cast another stiletto and TELEPORT. But the fact that a hidden INTELEON is on his heels does not leave his mind.[break][break]

As if summoned by Noel's words, Remiel suddenly appears amidst the grunts attacking them, diving in with a flurry of kicks and strikes with his electrified batons. A LUCARIO, in the meantime, dispatches their small team of Pokémon with EXTREME SPEED, pummeling down a Growlithe before blasting a nearby Zubat down with a WATER PULSE.[break][break]

"MAKE A BREAK FOR IT! BUT WATCH OUT, THERE'S A—"[break][break]

And, just then, another SNIPE SHOT rings out.

Remiel's Impidimp collapses from Noel's shoulder and falls to the ground DEAD. A small blood splatter decorates the lad's cheek as a result.[break][break]

Daring to move closer to the large tent, Remiel could now see another communications station just across from him. Lars was nearby, and a ROTOM he had presumably summoned was now deactivating the equipment there. Unfortunately, a patrolling grunt was approaching its location from the east. Considering neither Lars or his Rotom were at a good angle to see this incoming threat, Remiel quickly decided to leap into action.[break][break]

First, the royal would a LIGHTNING STILETTO just behind the approaching guard. Then, in the blink of an eye, he would TELEPORT before striking the guard down with the pommel of his tanto blade. The man collapses to the ground like a sack of potatoes before Remiel drags the body away to hide behind some crates. When he's done, he reaches up to activate his mic before whispering into it.[break][break]

"Whatever you're doing, do it fast, Anderson. We've got patrolling grunts all over this encampment."

There are too many webs covering the trees, their branches, the bushes, and the path ahead. Remiel finds it hard to advance any further, but he's certain there's an ancient site somewhere within that territory. The LARVESTA that calls this place home is a non-threat to him.

Or, at least, he thought so. Without warning, it FLAME WHEELS in their direction aggressively. Esfrit swiftly casts a ROCK SLIDE that stops that attack in its tracks, however. Afterward, the pair decided to move on.

An AIR CUTTER shatters a weak ruin wall, nearly burying Remiel in the rubble. If not for Esfrit, who shouldered the blow, it just might have. The SIGILYPH defending this place is clearly determined to see its responsibility through.

Nevertheless, Remiel is equally determined to conduct his research. So he sends in his Nihilego to cast a HEX. The super-effective attack cripples the Sigilyph long enough for him to pull out an empty ball and capture it.

The spinning top barrels their way when it notices their presence amidst the ruins. Remiel is quick to take cover behind a pillar, but Esfrit hardly moves. Instead, she challenges the BALTOY despite its EXTRASENSORY powers.

While the force of the psychic impact caused her to wobble a little, however, the Nihilego soon countered with a devastating HEX. The Baltoy comes to a violent crash as a result. As it is wrapped up in the tentacles of the floating jellyfish, Remiel pulls out an empty ball and captures it.

Considering the 'fatal' lightning strike he'd cast earlier (something he frankly still grappled to understand and come to terms with), Remiel found himself at a loss for words. Bryan was right... but that still didn't mean he was in the right. As far as the former Admin was concerned, convincing his former friend to leave Team Rocket was his duty.[break][break]

Unfortunately, his hesitation leads to a surprise blowback as a gust of air sends the STUN SPORE his way. Unable to react with a counter in time, both Remiel and his Charizard inhale the paralyzing spores and struggle to resist their effects. They are helpless to stop the DEATH of his CUTIEFLY despite their best efforts, however.[break][break]
