Josh had been quick to grab them and practically jam them into the ears of the kids when he heard that. They both started getting pretty fussy about that, but he was also quick on that regard, hoisting them both up on his shoulders so they could see the show. Something that got them to calm down pretty quickly.

That was when he noted the strange stone, and suit that the woman hosting the show was wearing. And didn't he know her from somewhere? He could almost swear he did... Regardless, the woman was actually able to sit on the Flygon's wing, despite the fact that should be physically impossible. Was it the stone doing that? He could feel energy radiating off it, a type he'd never felt before...

Mega Energy, Z-Energy, Dynamax Energy, he knew of them all. But this? This was different. The show that followed was dazzling, though the noise was a bit much even with the earplugs. Even for him, it was a bit too much oversensory, he couldn't imagine how the kids were feeling.

Josh hardly had time to react before his wife had opened fire on him with popcorn kernels. Something that made the kids begin to giggle before bursting into hysterics laughing as Josh at first tried to shield himself, then promptly adjusted and started trying to catch the popcorn kernels with his mouth. Which was... Somewhat successful? Somewhat.

"If we see popcorn kernels on the floor at home, we'll know why" he commented dryly, before shooting Izumi a look when she almost swore in front of children. This tug of war between the urge to swear and common sense was still a problem to this day, apparently. "Yeah, yeah, I got it" he remarked as he began to get to work on getting them changed.

Once Izumi had the tickets, they would be up and rolling.

Josh gasped for air as he hit the surface, with some kind of CD in hand. Seriously, how did these things even survive being submerged? All he could remember was the hundreds of Clamperl that had decided to clamp onto him, and quite painfully at that. He wasn't quite sure if he wanted to go through that again. And yet here he was, taking another dive into the Clamperl pond.

Seeing the kids clapping as he held up the CD however, he tossed his find to them before diving down once more.

He had... Many more? From the rifts, apparently. "I've been in one, it changed my Arcanine, the one you saw at the gym" he brought up at that, but it was still bewildering to think that he'd caught a bunch of Eevee lined Pokemon of the same size. That was just... Well, bizarre, quite frankly. "It seems I'll have to investigate these rifts more when I get an opportunity. At the least to update the HoloWatch's database."

He kept a careful eye on Toralf, not out of distrust but out of protectiveness, as Zack practically buried himself in the large creature's fur. It wasn't that Lightning was small, either. But Toralf was just so damn massive, while Lightning was born normally, outside of the rifts.

With that, Small Josh offered for them to head into the House Of Mirrors and try to beat the time attack. "We were thinking of going for the ring toss, but I don't mind giving the mirror house a go" he responded at that. Though he then looked to the Raichu and Zack. "Just keep in mind that I have a child with me, I may not be able to keep up with your speed this time either" he remarked with a small smile. "You'll understand when you're older, and have children of your own."

Just as he did with the Clamperl Diving, Josh had memories of this that he had been repressing. Being dunked over, and over, and over again without stop nor mercy. But once more, the kids appeared to enjoy seeing him suffer. So here he was, unsure if he should even do this. If he did knock someone into the drink, he would be the one to suffer.

But it had to be done. If even just to entertain the kids.

So he meekly waved to jayden cross and got to throwing.

Josh had... Memories of this, that's for sure. He hadn't expected to see this, or experience this again. But the kids were egging him on, and he couldn't yet disappoint them, could he? So once he was sure they were left with their guardian, he took a deep breath before diving into the drink.

Josh's mask has a golden-orangeish hue, with yellow cheek pouches painted on that sport markings akin to a cat's whiskers. A circular black shade surrounds the mask's small eyeholes, with an angle towards the bottom meant to depict an electric ferocity. The mask's nose has the same horizontal oval shape as its namesake, drawn in black, but also features a small pair of wings drawn onto the upper sides, with the ends resembling lightning bolts. Finally, spiked ears have been attached to the top of the mask, with tiny, barely audible bells hanging from the edges.

The carnival was beginning to near its end, but the kids had enjoyed going so much that he figured he could take them one more time. This time it was the one in Rustboro. Unfortunately, Izumi had a Rangers Captain meeting to attend, so he'd be taking the kids himself. Luckily, at this point he knew the layout fairly well, so he could at least navigate without having to split into sections of the park, or have Izumi's help.

Taking a picture with the kids using the HoloWatch to send to the socials for Izumi to see, he noticed that shortly after some kind of show had caught the eye of the kids...

Munching on his own treat while the kids gorged themselves, he listened as Izumi considered what to do first. Doing the water rides first? "Well, I suppose it is pretty hot in Lavaridge. Cooling off would be nice" he admitted at that, looking to the kids as he began digging through the bags to ensure that their water-wear had been packed. He had tried like a madman to ensure he'd packed everything, double and triple checked before they'd left. But there almost always seemed to be something missing. This time however, what they sought was indeed here.

"Aye, I'd be good with that. If you know where they are, care to lead the way?"

He wasn't exactly expecting a hug from the kid, but he didn't object, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. But was that... A Raichu? It seemed the kid had taken a cue from him, or perhaps just caught it on a whim. The Pikachu line was known for being speedy after all, albeit not exactly apt for riding. Although this one was... Well, quite frankly, it was probably three times the size of Lightning. Josh stared at the thing with a mix of bewilderment and wonder, unable to fathom just how big that chonker was. Lightning meanwhile, didn't like that it had been outstaged by the monster Raichu, but kept its cool.

"Dad! Dad! His Lightning is really big!" Zack cried out, breaking from his father to careen straight into the giant chonker with a saddle on its back. Raichu wasn't normally meant to be ridden, and yet... Here we are.

"I'm already being called dad instead of daddy, god I feel old" he muttered before turning his attention to Small Josh. "Your Raichu is certainly... Unique" Josh admitted at that, wondering just how much tugging strength this thing must have. He had an idea of Lightning's strength levels, but he'd never even heard of a Raichu this size. "What have you been feeding him?"

It seemed the Phantump indeed belonged to the woman in front, as it hid behind her when the child spoke up. The trainer meanwhile, had been busy taking a picture or something or other with her phone before taking notice of the commotion. "Don't worry about it" he did his best to smooth things over as he stepped forward, where there was indeed a Phantump-shaped balloon that soon caught Lyra's eye. Buying it and handing it over, to the child's delight, he stepped away to let others get in line before activating the HoloWatch. Motioning for Lyra to say "cheese" he took a picture using the holographic interface that materialized from the watch, to send off to socials for his wife to see later.

"I've been really busy lately, so I was hoping today would be a good chance to make good on that with my kids" he then explained to the lady whom had remained. He smiled slightly at her explanation that the Pokemon was shy. "I definitely get that" he admitted, motioning towards the little girl whom had moved to hide behind his leg, clutching the balloon. "My name is Josh. The Raichu is Lightning, and the cute one here..." he trailed off as he motioned to his daughter. "Is Lyra. A pleasure to meet you, Elise."

There had been a lot going on as of late, so Josh had been looking forward to the advent of Funtasia. Why? Mostly so that his kids could have some fun with their parents for once, after how busy they had been with universe-threatening events. Now this festival was finally here, and he was intent on making the most of it.

They had gone when it came to Lavaridge, but the kids had enjoyed it so much that when they came to Mauville, Josh and Izumi had decided to take them again. For the moment, they had split into pairs so they could each see what each kid wanted. So when a tall, built blonde with spiked hair approached the House of Mirrors, he had a Raichu on one side, and hand in hand an excitable brown-haired boy on the other. Though before they headed in, he thought he saw a familiar face.
